Always on the weekend....during this crazy Coronavirus pandemic....and we are new to this area and Florida. Of course, Saturday is when we noticed that our hot water heater was leaking and making a huge water mess on newly laid laminate flooring. Where do you find a reliable plumber? Who do you call? We asked our neighbor and she recommended LaPensee. She's always had a great experience with them, and she added that they are also a Preferred plumbing contractor with our HOA. We called right away and a plumber (Tommy Pettly) arrived within the hour. He thoroughly checked out the whole situation and nearby plumbing just to make sure that it was our hot water heater that was causing the water mess. In doing this he also found a defective valve and said he would be back the next day, Sunday, and install a new hot water heater. Today, he not only removed the old hot water, (GE that was only 6 years old, I wouldn't recommend) he helped us clean up the water, take the laminate out to dry and installed a new valve and newer flex piping and our new Rheem hot water heater. We couldn't be more satisfied with Tommy! His timing, attention to detail, knowledge and quality of workmanship were over and above! Upon arrival at our Winter home in Florida on Anna Marie Island we noticed a serious pool deck crack that needed to be repaired or replaced. We contacted Tom La Pensee at La Pensee plumbing and pools for advice. After a very professional discussion of options with Tom, we choose to remove the old concrete deck and create a pool deck of pavers. In addition the pool itself was resurfaced via pebble tech technology, creating a brand new looking pool. If that wasn't enough we reconstructed the pool screen house too. Our pool now looks brand new and we are enjoying the new upgrade very much. All of the above was completed in a three week time due to the ability of Tom LaPensee in securing the skilled labor onto the job site on time and in the proper order. I have required a great deal of plumbing work over the past month in a small rental house. The property manager uses LaPensee for plumbing projects at all his rentals so I did not actually choose them. I must say they have been a joy to work with. I have never had to wait very long and all of the associates have been hard working and congenial. All of the problems finally ended up as a total re-piping of the hot and water lines which is a huge task. The work took three days to complete and I could not be more satisfied. Peter Casey worked alone for two days and then Billie Wilkerson joined Peter to complete the job. They were incredibly hard working but took the time to explain the project to me as they moved through the tasks. They were careful to clean up at the end of each day and stayed as long as necessary to finish in three days. Commendable I must say. LaPensee provided a bid last summer for my pool renovation including pool decking. I called them last month to review the bid as I was ready to move forward. After 3 phone calls, 3 emails and 2 telephone appointments that were missed on their end I finally had the privilege of speaking with Tom. He informed me he wanted to look at the pool again, review the contract work scope & get back to me immediately.......that was 2 weeks ago.....not a word from him since. I did receive 2 other bids for the pool travertine paver work. With the same square footage measured & same materials specified, the 2 other paver companies were within $800 of each other on the bid. LaPensee was $13,700 higher. I will not do business with LaPensee due to obvious rip off pricing with the pavers and total lack of professionalism. I do not recommend this company. read more

We gave LaPensee Plumbing a real challenge today. We have had over the years a circa 1940's shower and faucet embedded in concrete which could not be completely shut off. We suffered for years since we did not want the mess of cutting into concrete and cinder block in our guest bathroom. We finally called LaPensee Plumbing, our local plumber to assess the problem and recommend a possible solution. They sent a young plumber, Sean Calcutta who decided to cut into the concrete wall and replace the faucet with a Moen. It took him the better part of the day. He turned out to be a very professional, knowledgeable and caring expert and took the time to clean the area. We now have a wonderful shower that actually comes on and shuts off at our whim. I had a problem with my backflow valve leaking.  LaPensee has been doing my annual certifications.  I called in earlier in the week to schedule a repair.  Ball was dropped by plumbing scheduling.  However, I called in again this morning because an occasional drip turned into a steady flow of wasted drinking water.   I was very pleased.  Later this morning Vito Angelicola rang my doorbell to tell me he was here to do my repair.  He was extremely polite and attentive to my repair needs.  When the repair was completed, he brought me the old parts to show me why the valve failed.  I am very confident in the quality of the repair and look forward to having him as my assigned service rep for my annual certifications and any subsequent problems I have with my backflow valve. read more

Rich is amazing, he comes out promptly, one quick look & always knows exactly what to do. He repaired my bathroom faucet that the plumber before him messed up. Fixed my toilet that had been giving me problems for a long time, haven't had a problem since. Just left after fixing my husbands toilet. He knew with one look that the valve was not installed properly. I know we will not be having any more problems with that toilet. He is kind, courteous & has a great sense of humor. I called yesterday about a broken PVC pipe in my pool equipment. Jeff came out today, identified the issue and fixed it in less than 30 minutes.
