Lapps Ice Cream is incredible. We sampled some at the Green Dragon flea market. There is also a tasting experience in New Holland. The ice cream stand is across from Pappy's Kettle Korn. I enjoyed butter brickle. Hubby loved the pumpkin ice cream. They make their own kettle chips too. The scoops are theme park prices and worth it! We had fun sitting on the cow bench. read more

This was a cute fun stop at the start of our visit. The ice cream was good, we got butter pecan. It wasn't super sweet, but was good. Went here on Monday May 22nd 2023 with my family on our lancaster vacation as part of the Kitchen Kettle Village trip. The most ridiculously good ice cream I've ever had. I am not usually a fan of ice cream, in fact. But the taste, texture etc. is very different here--instead of some dreadful freeze dried, artificially sweet junk, you get something remarkably fresh and smooth. OMG! I think this was the most amazing ice cream I have ever had. The only problem is I am 6+ hours away and I can't go every day! I had the peanut butter in a waffle cone and really wanted to skip dinner for another one. The place is clean, organized and the people are so sweet. They make the waffle cones right there on the hot griddle. They have a drive through window so it is probably best that I can't go every day. We got to visit the cows and their bulldog had 3 pups so we had fun playing with them and the barn kitty. Every time I go to Kitchen Kettle Village I have to stop here and get ice cream from the Lapp Valley Farms stand. It is by far the best ice cream I have ever had. Everything is so fresh and the ice cream is not crystalized. The ice cream cones are made by hand and even sometimes come out warm (depending on what time you go). I was initially intent on going to the Lapp Valley Farm and was disappointed that, due to the short amount of time we have, we could not do so. Imagine just how pleased I was that the ice cream I so wanted and the ice cream they were raving about were the same! The ice cream is fresh and creamy and really reinforces my belief that life is good. We ordered butter brickle, black cherry, maple walnut, and raspberry. All were just so lush, but the favorite would have to be butter brickle. Their potato chips, so crisp and perfectly salted, on top of the ice cream was just amazing! My friends and I stopped by here a few hours ago and had an excellent time. The ice cream is made fresh every day and the milk is collected from the cows only hours before it is served. They have a little more than a dozen flavors of ice cream, but every single flavor is rich and creamy. I tried the chocolate chip, raspberry, black cherry, and coffee flavors. Each and every one was amazing in its own regard. There was a line of 20 or so people when we got there, but it moved quickly and efficiently. Loyal fans and regulars were aplenty. After getting ice cream, we roamed around the farm petting calves, watched cows being milked, and played with a friendly pair of dogs. It was a very calm, friendly atmosphere. Lapp Valley Farms is a great place to have fresh ice cream and milk, and pat some cows in their farm. I recommend the waffle cone (freshly prepared and rolled right there) with ice cream. The flavors taste very unique and I just love the creamy texture. I recommend trying the natural flavors instead of coffee or chocolate; but you cannot go wrong either way and will love the right intensity of the flavors. The chocolate milk is delicious! I visited the charming spot last week -- for the first time.  I love to support local farms and dairies.  A nice stop for tourists! There is a great porch where you can sit, relax, and eat an ice cream cone. Speaking of ice cream......... I was hoping to buy ice cream, but I was disappointed when I read the label to see that the ingredients included sweeteners and stabilizers that are not necessarily considered healthy or "natural."  I have found this at several the small, local ice cream makers -not sure why they are adding these ingredients (?) Even Trader Joes sells its brand of ice cream made with only the basics:  Cream milk, cane sugar and natural ingredients, so I will continue to purchase my ice cream there; however, I would love to see these small, local dairies revert to just the basics in their ice creams -- especially since they have such wonderful quality milk/cream to start with! read more

SO SO yummy!!!! It is definitely worth the drive out to Amish country just to go to this place. The ice cream is incredible, and the best part is that you can get pints, half gallons, and gallons to go. We always leave with plenty of ice cream to last the week! It is probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Having the cows available to see and pet makes it a nice day trip in such a beautiful setting.
