We attended a musical at the Bird in Hand Theater the evening before and had stayed at the BIH Suite which is a magnificently resort hotel from 1852 but that's a review of its own. We were provided a $20 certificate toward breakfast at the Bakery and we're pleasantly surprised. It was a Saturday morning in late November and tourists abounded. Kaitlyn, the pretty young woman explained that they were short 3 workers and that today was her 3rd day, but didn't say it whining. Service was understandably slower, but the food was quite tasty, and even after each ordering a hefty breakfast, we only owed $3 and some change after redeeming our $20 voucher. In full disclosure, my wife and I have been visiting Bird in Hand Restaurant and subsidiaries since 1989, and I always enjoy our visits.

This is a must visit place for when visiting Lancaster. Bird-in-Hand Bakery had lots to offer. You get your whoopie pies, cakes, shoo fly pies, breads etc. you also can find unique ice creams such shoo fly pie ice cream and whoopie pie ice cream along with regular flavors. Staff is friendly and hardworking. Place is huge with 2 floors. We ate in the nice dining area on the second floor. I loved the whoopie pie ice cream. It was pieces crushed whoopie pie in delicious ice cream. You got pieces of whoopie pie in each and every bite . Delicious and sweet! The red velvet whoopie pie is also a must try! Parking was easy , place is amongst lots to do including the indoor farmers market and garden decor store. Enjoy!

Very tasty. Thus had a lot of options. I had a Monty Cristo. There was a nice upstairs area with tables .

Adequate and responsibly priced. The cafe is located in a very touristy area. The Apple Fritter tasted like it was made a day ago. You order at a counter and the order is delivered at a different counter.

Cute little bakery, sandwich stand and ice cream shop right across the street from the Bird-In-Hand Family Inn (who also own this facility) and Bird-In-Hand Farmers Market. Lots of fresh baked pies, breads, canned goods and especially whoopie pies. Several made to order sandwiches and wraps are available, and the ice cream sundaes are a favorite of my boys. The selection here is far more limited than the either the restaurant at the Family Inn or the lunch counter at the Farmer's Market, but they are generally less crowded and provide a much faster turn around at similar prices. This isn't a spot I'd go out of my way to travel to, but I wouldn't hesitate to stop in if I saw a bus or two across the street.

Well this may be a top ice cream stop for Lancaster PA! Flavors are wild... shoofly pie, monster cookie dough and whoopie pie!!! All taste amazing. Line can be pretty long but worth it. Scoops are big!

Stopped here as we waited for the hot air balloon festival to begin. There's a bunch of knick-knacks and Amish goods around the stow to try. The ice cream portion is huge and my husband and his parents loved it. The petting zoo out front is cute and .25¢ you can get feed for the animals

Surprisingly expensive with the added 3% for charge for a good buffet. One time visit.

Disgusting, not friendly staff, and the food was gross. You can eat better food from a toilet. And it's overpriced!

We ordered 3 paninis and tenders, along with drinks. Beverages were served shortly after. Four to five couples & groups came and ordered after us. Oddly enough, their food was served first. We waited roughly 30-45 minutes. Didn't think anything of it, until one of the workers dropped the tenders we ordered for my child. Instead of immediately saying she would replace the tenders, she asked if it needed to be replaced. Logic dictates, especially if you work in the food industry and you, as the server dropped it on the counter replace the items immediately, no questions asked. Obviously, I want the items replaced. First & foremost, my child is hungry. Secondly, I paid for the food & expect my order to be fulfilled in its entitreity without racial bias! I confronted the server about her lack of common sense and unacceptable behavior. To which she said, "But you won't let me talk" or "You won't even listen to my side of the story". I mean cmon, you work in the food industry - take accountability! Why am I educating you on healthy food standards and food safety? I told the employee to sit down & her response was "You're not my mother". Real professional! Please note, as a mother I don't raise idiots. Her own mother would likely be disappointed in the way she took zero accountability for her lack of actions and decisions. I waved her away. It's quite obvious that she expected my child to eat tenders that were contaminated from when dropping it on the counter & my group, persons of color to excuse her behavior. We left the establishment, fully aware that the treatment we endured was racially driven. All the other customers who ordered after us were not people of color & somehow got their food before us! Outside, a person of color approached my group. She noted that she has also been mistreated due to the color of her skin & was treated as less than in the same location. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE! Employees are racist, lack human decency and common sense! Additionally, employees are improperly trained/educated on food safety.

Whenever we go on…read morevacation, we try to visit a new coffee shop every morning, and on this day we ended up heading over to Coffee Co. We chose this spot simply because we passed it several times during our vacation, as it sits right off Route 30. I headed inside while my family stayed in the car. Although I knew the building was fairly large, I was not expecting just how many tables and seats were available. From that standpoint, it felt much more like a sit down restaurant than the coffee shop I was anticipating. That said, they did have a designated area for ordering to go, which is where I headed. After looking over their winter specials, I tried to order something with peppermint for my wife. Unfortunately, they were out of peppermint syrup, which was also what I would have ordered for myself. I ended up getting my wife an iced mocha while I went with a hot coconut latte. My coffee ended up being decent. The coconut syrup was easy to taste, but it did not overpower the coffee itself. My wife's drink looked good with whipped cream and crushed peppermint on top, as they still had that available, but she was unable to drink it due to a stomach bug. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. While I do not know that I would go out of my way just for coffee, it seemed like a nice place for a sit down meal.

I wanted to try a new place for breakfast on my way to Lancaster and gave it a try. Spacious seating: booths and table and chairs. Place your order at the counter and someone will bring your meal to you. Then when you're finished, clear your table and place the dinnerware in a basket before you exit. I came on a Thursday morning so finding a booth was no problem. My meal came out in a reasonable time. The lady who took my order was very friendly and welcoming. If the food was better, I'd try this place again. But the service alone would not lead me back. I ordered Pop's Special: eggs made to order, choice of meat, toast and home fries. I was expecting shredded potatoes or diced potatoes as home fries; not thickly sliced potato chips. I wasn't a fan. The eggs tasted like whatever oil they used on the griddle, and had the same taste as the home fries and bacon. My husband ordered Mom's special. That was similar to Pop's special but instead of home fries, a very large pancake was served with a scoop of butter. Same oily taste with his meal. He couldn't eat the pancake because it was too buttery. The people were great but not so great meals.

What I personally love about these doughnuts , it's the "layered " part. The croissant like mix between a doughnut and a flaky croissant. They are also big doughnuts.. the flavors are good and very interesting. I got half a dozen to try as many as I could but still left some of the flavors out. Definitely opting for a full dozen next time! Another thing that makes this place stand out , is there savory doughnuts . I got one of those too because I just had to try them.. lol. I couldn't stop eating them lol they are so good! By far, my favorite doughnut in PA. They also offer Gluten free & vegan doughnut options. Which is a huge plus, since my daughter is gluten free. She said "these are the best doughnuts I've ever had" ! The place is really nice , modern like warm Bakery / coffee shop feel. The service was great too. I waited a bit for the gluten free and savory doughnuts, but the employees were very good about letting me know that they would be coming out shortly, which was nice.
