    Quiche du jour
    Molly H.

Adorable and delicious, just what you want in a restaurant in Lancaster! It was very homey and we felt well taken care of by our waitress. The food was so good and satisfying. I got the quiche and the bf got the meatloaf. We both loved our dishes and just wish we had gotten dessert! Definitely recommend if you're in the area and don't forget to wander around the village afterwards.

    Quiche... terrible.

Well, this was the worst food I've ever had in a restaurant. I ordered the quiche and this is how it came out: a greasy microwaved mush plopped atop a paper plate (in the corner of said plate... not even centered). I had two bites and couldn't even eat any more. To serve this kind of food to paying customers is the ultimate display of laziness and disrespect.

12/22/2017- We were visiting Kitchen Kettle Village and decided to stop by Kling House for lunch. We were greeted right away and sat in the front room by the grandfather's clock. Our waiter was so friendly and he gave us a few recommendations. To start, we ordered the sweet potato fries with marshmallow dip. For our entrees, we ended up ordering the Kling House Salad and the Quiche of the day (Ham and Cheese) with the chicken dumpling soup. The fries were plenty to share for at least 4 people. They were fresh and the dip was incredible. We asked the waiter to find out from the chef how this was done because we wanted the recipe. SO GOOD!. Our main dishes came out and they were good portions. There are various charming rooms as this was a home once. It is lovely and there are pictures and stories to read all over the house. Overall, delicious food, quaint restaurant/home feel, great service.

Great food and great staff! My fiancé got the meatloaf sandwich which he ate super fast and said it was moist and delicious! I chose the Pat's Picks section where you pay $13.99 and choose from three prechosen soups, drinks, and sandwiches. I got the chicken corn soup, hot tea, and roast turkey sandwich. All of it was so tasty!! The tea came out with about five tea bags to choose from from regular tea to mango and even peppermint tea. Our waiter, Jared, was extremely friendly and kind! Be sure to ask for their specially coffee too. We overheard people near us ask and it was snickerdoodle coffee that my fiancé got to go. He enjoyed it.... Me not so much but I'm also not a coffee drin. The food is so unique and so delicious. I will definitely return on our yearly trio to Lancaster! A year later and still 5 STARS! The Pat's Picks is now $14.99. First, our server, Abby, was such a sweetheart! They bring outside crackers and a spread to start with while you wait for your food. My husband got the meatloaf sandwich again, I got the lunch special of fresh peach and chicken salad, and my step-daughter of course kids chicken nuggets and upgraded ($0.99) to fries instead of the chips it comes with. Food is amazing as always!!!!

Second time here with the KKV fall shopping package. Such a cute little place with super nice staff. Ordered the salted caramel coffee and crab cake Benedict with fries. They are both really good! Had to take back half of the Benedict home though, since it was huge... Highly recommend this place!

Know for their signature dessert(coconut cream pie), their breakfast or lunch menus are full of Lancaster County recipes which feature Kitchen Kettle Village products... We stopped for a quick bite ...very homely and friendly ... I highly recommend the creme brûlée french toast... it was so..so..so good!... don't say I didn't warn you coz after this you will never be able to go back to the plain and mellow French toast that your use to eating ....soft custard pudding texture with fudge caramel like brioche layered in every bite (like the corners of a fudge brownie) ...not too sweet, scrumptious!! Ask to sit on the porch so you can see the Amish horse buggies ride by.

The Kling house was such a pleasure to stop in at. Food was great, service was kind and the outdoor atmosphere was wonderful. Even when it began to sprinkle, they were so quick to ask if we wanted to move inside. Recommend the Reuben and the Cobb salad!

Kling house is a lovely house transformed into a restaurant. It is one of the restaurant situated and uses the ingredients from Kitchen kettle village in Lancaster county. The lunch menu is simple with few selections that made it uncomplicated. We started with Pretzel and mustard as appetizer to share. I chose pork chop for my main entrée. It is a locally sourced center cut pork chop marinated and grilled to perfection, with its own juice and topped with caramelized apples and onions. Served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. It would have been nice to pair it with a glass of Chardonnay. Unfortunately, the Amish do not serve alcoholic drinks. But the meal was scrumptious altogether. The ambiance is calm and homey. The customer service is impeccable. Our waiter is very attentive but not obtrusive. It was indeed a great Amish country lunch experience. All the ingredients are fresh. I will come back and recommend this place to friends and family.

Absolutely amazing food.. I can't wait to come back next year. My fiancé and I do this trip this time every year and we are so happy we came here. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Jared was a great waiter. Updated a year later... Just like I said almost a year ago, couldn't wait to come back, and here we are... Abby is a very attentive and friendly waitress. My daughter ordered chicken fingers and fries, my wife ordered the fresh peach and chicken salad and I ordered the meatloaf sandwich. Yet again the service and food is amazing. And can't wait to come back again with my family.

We really enjoyed everything we ate! To start out the complimentary appetizer of crackers and cream cheese and red pepper jelly was absolutely delicious. Pur waitress even gave us the recipe because we were asking to buy some to take home. My entire family liked their meals....chicken salad sandwich, ultimate grilled cheese, flatbread pizza and BLT. All was very flavorful and a nice change from what we have been eating on our vacation. My only complaint was that it took longer to get our food than we thought it would take. The little room we were sat in was full so maybe that us why. It was neat to actually eat in what was a home at one time. Se really enjoyed reading the story of the restaurant. It was nice to have the manager check on us about our food. On a side note, after I posted the pictures, the manager came back to our table and asked if I just posted pictures on YELP and thanked me. He then gave me two small jars of jam.

My family and I were visiting Kitchen Kettle Village and ate here for lunch before our buggy ride. I would rate Kling House Restaurant 3.5 stars if I could, but rounded up to 4 for the quaint ambiance and nice waiter. The story behind the former farmhouse makes the eating experience special and cozy. The service was a teensy bit slow, but our waiter was busy and very nice and accommodating. I ordered the chicken corn soup and vegetarian sandwich under the soup and salad lunch special. I thought the soup was too salty but the ingredients seemed fresh. I really enjoyed my vegetarian sandwich; i wish I lived nearby just so can I order it again. Our table ordered the peach crumb and lemon skillet cake, which was the dessert special that day. I don't have anything special to say about the peach crumb, but the lemon cake was made to order and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream from Lapp's Valley Farms. Yum!!!

The Kling House Restaurant is a nice place for a good full service lunch at the Kitchen Kettle. Weather permitting there is amble outdoor seating & the servers are always friendly & attentive. I highly recommend the homemade meatloaf sandwich. It's delicious!

I was seated in a booth and given a menu to look at. I requested an ice water and ordered the Shrimp Parm with Spaghetti ($14.99 plus tax) with choice of one side (chose mac & cheese) and garlic toast. The food came out in 12 minutes after I ordered. The portion of food was good which was comprised of 8 breaded jumbo shrimp topped with red sauce & melted cheese with a side of soft cooked spaghetti with a sweet meat sauce. The mac & cheese (orange) was very dense and rich. The thick slices of garlic toast were soft and buttery. After I was done, the check was brought over which was $15.89 with tax and before tip. I paid at the front register. Overall, the food I had was fantastic and I was a bit torn whether to choose a pasta dish or a traditional country homestyle meal. The shrimp parm was very tasty and hot as was the mac & cheese. The service was friendly and adequate. I was glad I stopped here instead of going to a smorgasbord restaurant, which was very packed and pricey. The meal I had at Ark House Diner was pretty reasonable.

I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
