I called to schedule a recall repair for the Takata airbag on my Traverse. The initial booking and drop-off process led me to believe the repair would be completed. However, when I picked up the vehicle, I was informed that the necessary parts were not available. I feel this should have been communicated when I initially provided my vehicle information, including the VIN, to avoid wasting my time. During this service visit, I also opted for an oil change. The service report contained several discrepancies that the service manager couldn't clarify. For example, the report noted that a check on the power steering fluid was not applicable because my vehicle supposedly had electronic power steering. This, however, is incorrect as I had the power steering pump replaced a few years ago, covered by a warranty. This experience has confirmed the unfavorable opinions I've heard about Laramie GM. For any dealership work on your GMC, Chevrolet, Buick, etc., I would recommend traveling to Fort Collins or Cheyenne instead. read more

Easiest car purchase ever. Connected online with Krystal about a used car on their lot. Krystal was responsive and answered all my questions in a professional manner. When I set an appointment she referred me to a salesman, Mike VanVleet. I drove the car, liked it, and sat down with Mike to do the paper work (Laramie GM Auto Center is a one-price dealership. I drove just over two hours to get there) and the price they were asking was well within the range of what I was willing to pay. No pressure from Mike to load on any extras. I went in there because my car wasn't starting and they told me it's because I needed a new starter and they added a battery too because I supposedly need a new one. Car worked for about a week or two before it died again. Was going to take it back but they said they couldn't take me for another month so I took it to the local auto electric place. After looking at the car they said the issue was the corrosion on the battery clamps (may not be using the right term sorry) and that I probably didn't even need a new starter. I'm not necessarily an expert, but if that's the case it kind of feels like I paid them to not actually solve the problem. Wouldn't have gone to them if not for the fact that I just needed my car towed to somewhere close, and don't plan to go back to them in the future. read more

Traveling across the country in my old truck when we noticed a long trail of antifreeze running down the parking lot. Coasted into Laramie Auto Center in the late afternoon, and the shuttle took my wife, myself and our 2 dogs to a hotel that was pet friendly. The service department checked everything out, located the needed part that they didn't have in stock, and by mid-morning the next day, we were back on the road. Dropped by for a car wash at their Detail center. They are located across the street possibly outsourced. They were able to accommodate me couple of hours before my appointment. After the wash i was handed the keys but no bill. I was confused if it was a free service. Then I had to request for the bill and wait until they could arrange. About the car wash: The work was below normal. Regular wash and vacuum but they did not do a good job. Complete lack of customer service. When asked about the dirt still on the front of the car, the service person was like "Thats how much we can do, if you want we can try again but will have to charge you for another service". The level of respect towards work and customers was a disappointing. The person at the service desk also was not giving me a reply to this, but was more interested in charging me and getting the sale completed. I am sure i will never do another car wash at this location or will i be there for any other needs. read more

Impressive ; I have to say ths to anyone who is considering doing business with Laramie GM - they stand by their products. I bought a used 04 DURAmax recently only to have a "perfect storm" of problems occur. At that time when everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong, I assumed I was surely on the hook for a lot of additional costs. Laramie G M took full responsibility and with a vested interest in me feeling well taken care of made certain that I was fully satisfied. I'm certain that the cost of handling these issues was not profitable for them. 5 months ago, I purchased a 2006 VW Passat from Laramie GM Auto Center. The price wasn't excessive, but it was above Kelly Bluebook. I was in need of a vehicle quickly, so I was in somewhat of a pinch to get something quickly. The salesman knew this. I took it for a test drive and dropped by a mechanic to have him look at the car. The mechanic noticed new PV boots. Why they were put on was unknown. I brought the car back to GM Auto Center and about 15 minutes after I left the lot the salesman called me to tell me "one of the owner's friends was on there way up from Ft Collins to look at the vehicle because it was such a great car". I found that a bit suspicious but who knows- maybe his story was factual. After I purchased the vehicle I called Laramie GM Auto Center's service department to inquire as to what services had been preformed on the vehicle so that I could take care of anything else that needed taking care of. I was told a few things, but most importantly to this story is "tune up" and "PV joints & boots" 2 & 1/2 months after I purchased the vehicle it broke down. Long story short; coils were bad and the spark plugs were the wrong ones for the car (all of which should have been taken care of in the "tune up" GM told me they did). $700.00 later and 3 days without a vehicle, everything was fine until the car started vibrating. I took it to Fat Boys and they put it on a lift. The mechanic came out and told me the PV Boots were crushed and that the reason for this and the vibration is because the axle on my vehicle was the wrong size and not the correct one for my vehicle (all of which should have been seen when the joints and boots were replaced. I was given an estimate for close to $800.00. There were plenty of other repair costs, but I do understand that it was a used vehicle so I won't blame them for those- but the ones listed above I DO. Finally what set me off to write this review: I had an accident in my vehicle and the insurance company wanted me to bring it somewhere that does mechanics and body work. GM Collision Center was close to my only choice and seemed logical since my insurance agent was going to be there the day I wanted it looked at. I dropped my car off in the morning at 8 AM. I picked up the vehicle at 5:45 PM. The Collision Center closed af five so they were kind enough to move my vehicle to the Laramie GM Auto Center on Grand Avenue because it's open later. When I went to pick up my car the door-handle was basically ripped off where it was supposed to be. It was hanging on the side of my car- broken (with no mention from anyone), my radio station was changed and the volume was very loud! When I started the car the volume startled me, my heat settings were changed, my seat settings were changed and I had zeroed out a trip meter on my dash and hid it. Somewhere along the day about 45 miles were driven on my car? If I could put five negative stars, I would. read more

My wife and I were looking for a truck for awhile (I have to mention that is our first truck and we never had one before). we looked at different dealerships in Laramie, Fort Collins, and Denver and different brands and models such as Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and Silverado 1500. I have to confess that our experience with Chevy was beyond our expectation. Silverado 1500 was exactly the truck that we were looking for. It has the spirit of a real truck combined with modern technologies and luxurious features. I also have to mention that the dealership agent (Clayton) was a great guy and very professional. He presented multiple trucks with all the features very professionally. I am impressed with his broad knowledge and his professional behavior. We ended up with a Black crew cab Silverado 1500 LTZ with all the features that we asked for. We haven't had this nice experience in other dealerships. I think other dealerships should stop by in Laramie GM Auto Center to learn how they should treat a customer. We are so excited and very happy with our recent purchase. I should say that I never had any of Chevy's product before in my life and I think I can not buy anything else in the future except Chevy. UPDATED FOR ADDITITIONAL INFORMATION: Apparently, "Rich" the person that treated me badly in the service department has a history here in Laramie. Some quick research online will show that he is "Richard Avery," who used to work at a different shop here in town, called Advanced Automotive Tech. He got bad reviews and complaints there too and no longer works there. Original review: I have been having an ongoing issue with my vehicle that has lasted roughly one month. I was working with Eric L. in service who was very friendly in the outset. It was a tricky issue to find and after three weeks, I was able to bring it in when they found a solution. What happened next is quite complicated and too detailed to put on Yelp. Long story short, Rich, one of the other service representatives contacted me and was extremely rude and condescending. He is dishonest and not to be trusted. I immediately took my car back and left. Eric L, was still polite and tried to smooth things over, but ultimately there was nothing to be done. My car is very important to me. I have to be able to trust the people servicing it. This experienced ruined this trust and left me feeling disappointed, and frankly, very angry. Because of this incident, I will no longer use them and cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone else. My car will not spend another second under their roof and I will not give them another penny. read more

Impressed! My 2005 Monte Carlo had an ignition recall, so I called Laramie GM to make an appointment to get it fixed. The woman representative on the other end was fantastic- cheerful and helpful. When I arrived, they took care of me right away, and had my car done in an hour. Everyone was smiling and so kind. I am impressed with Laramie GM's quality customer service and performance. The mechanic went right to the option of replacing my transmission without a full history of the problem with the system. When my husband suggested changing the transmission fluid the next day and took the car back, it solved the problem. Problem taken care of without replacing the transmission at a great cost and lots of time. Too bad they didn't do a thorough investigation when my car was first in the shop. read more

We were completely disappointed with the service (lack of service) we received. We scheduled to have our motorhome serviced. We were told it would take about 2 1/2 hours to complete the job. We dropped off our M/H at 8 AM as scheduled. We expected to have it back by 11 AM. The service person stretched it out to Noon. By about 930 AM, work had not bee started. I spoke with the "Service Professional" Shane Brown. He checked with his boss to confirm the job would be finished by Noon as promised. By about 1030 AM, the work still had not been started. Shane said the job would now only take an hour as he would have two technicians work on the job. By 11 AM, the parts for the job had not been obtained & the work order hadn't even been completed. I would give this a lower star if possible because I've had nothing but shit results. The first few times I took my car there, they charged me a shit ton for work that didn't resolve the issue I originally took the car there for. After a couple rounds of, "Well my car only worked on the trip home, so I have to tow it back to see what they didn't do this time", I got my car back and they finally "fixed it" by not actually addressing the issue head on and fixing it, but rather by removing something else so the issue was bypassed, rather than fixed and this actually caused other issues. They also gave me a courtesy car wash, which they acted like was a huge gesture or favor, but it's winter time and instead my car doors were frozen shut. What a bunch of dipshits. To top it off, after one episode of "tow and not really fix", my brake line somehow got screwed up so they fixed that, except guess what? It wasn't fixed properly (go figure). So instead, I find myself driving on the interstate and the brake light goes on and I get to Cheyenne and take it into a shop and without even saying anything they ask if the car had the brakes worked on and I say yes and they tell me that GM didn't fix it properly and the line wasn't tightened enough so it was leaking brake fluid. Basically, I could have died on the interstate because of this. I'm debating taking the bill I got and telling them, "You asshats better pay this or give me my money back on my original work because your shit work could have killed me." Real talk 2015: Those idiots really need to step up their game because that's pathetic. read more

They used to have their so called "best prices". Not anymore. Asked a bout 2 different vehicles, was quoted a price but when I went to look at them the price had been increased by $1000 and $2000?! They were both over retail too!? Maybe they still do the "best price" but its the best price for them! Go elswhere and shop around BEFORE you deal with these guys. We've had our Chevy Duramax serviced at Laramie GM for years. In the past 4 years the service has slowly degraded from spectacular where you knew you were being taken care of to just ok. No sense of customer service or going the extra step like they used to do. One exception: Rich Avery has not waivered from his excellent customer service - too bad he can't carry the rest of the department. What has caused me to write this review is our decision to change the fuel filter ourselves for the first time today. Since 2008 Laramie GM has always changed the fuel filter, until today. They have been the only service to touch this truck. This is what we found: wheel well shroud plastic clips: broke. Sensor clip to fuel filter clip: broken thus denying a good fit/connection. Wire unbundled from zip-tie: not replaced. It is very disheartening to find these 'little' things that were done by Laramie GM and the tech choose to overlook. It's too bad they still don't go the extra mile to take care in the work they do. This is just one example. We've had unauthorized work done & billed, been told service was gravely needed, etc. All ploys to generate additional income. Hard to trust Laramie GM service department with your vehicle. Be aware of what you've asked to be done & double check. read more
