A bright spot at Universal Studios with an oversized doughnut from Homer favorite place. The donut was about $10 and worth every penny. Perfectly cooked great taste and topped accordingly. While being a captive at Universal Studios I found this donut to be quite refreshing and in the grand scheme of things $10 isn't bad for anything in this park!

A little kiosk located within Universal Studios Florida. The food is your typical theme park donuts with a few variety such as sprinkles that are supposed to be like the lard lad Donuts from The Simpsons as well as chocolate donuts and regular vanilla donuts. The whole get up about this location is that you are buying it while you are immersed within Springfield which is where the Simpsons live. The donuts are very generic however they do offer a large land size which runs you the cost of roughly $10 and can easily feed you and a couple friends for a quick snack while you're at the parks. These aren't your typical flavored donuts, they have more of a cake base to it so don't go thinking you are about to bite into a typical donut. They are fluffier. The flavor is absolutely phenomenal in my opinion and every time I have come here they are insanely soft and super fresh! Definitely one of the snacks that I have to get every single time I'm here! I absolutely adore the flavor of the frosting because it isn't too sweet and it gives it the nice sweetness to the donut as you bite into it. The sprinkles are quite literally the best topping and the nice little crunch rounds out the entire body of the flavor making it perfect in my opinion! The staff is very friendly however I have noticed that towards the end of the day you can kind of tell they are getting fatigued from working all day however that has never stopped them from serving me with a smile on their face which always makes me happy to stop here as well! They also offer sodas to go along with the absolutely succulent Donuts that they sell!

This is a spot in the park worth stopping by to grab a huge donut with pink frosting and sprinkles. The lady at the counter was super nice and she had a stock of individually boxed giant donuts ready to sell. We were not expecting much of a quality donut but I must admit that the donut was pretty tasty. Since I am a huge Simpsons fan, I didn't mind paying $12 for one giant donut. This is not a sit down spot but more of a kiosk stand with few order to go windows. There are some benches and tables around in case you would like to take a break.

I have been eyeing this spot since we became pass holders in October of last year, and finnallyyyy, we tried the Big Pink donut on my birthday. Surprisingly, it was REALLY GOOD. Not dry, the perfect sweetness... HUGE and absolutely shareable. When I go back to the park with my family, we will get this over and over and over again.

Can we disappointed in this location? The one in California has way more selection of donuts, but the donuts are still really tasty. What they have that this one does have soft serve ice cream, which is really good but overall, I wish they had more of the selection of donuts that the California one has.

I love doughnuts so I couldn't help myself from getting the big pink! (It's as big as advertised!) I tried to eat it my myself but I'll for sure have leftovers. It was a quick service stand and the service was quick as advertised. You're outside by the lake enjoying the florida weather inside Simpsons land so ambiance is fun! Pro tip if you want a big pink and there's a line at lard land you can get a big pink at Kwik-e-mart

This is a stand at Universal Studios in Orlando. We always make sure to get one of the pink donuts here! They are massive and one of the best donuts we've ever had! They also started offering ice cream donut desserts since we've been here years ago. ***Make sure to get one right away when they open or wait in line to ensure you get a fresh one! Also... eat it right away or the icing melts off and not as good.

Lard Lad is such a awesome Quick service!!!! They are always fresh that day and delicious. The Big Pink and Apple Fritter are $7 but huge!!!!! You could easily Split one of these with three people. They also have a donut and ice cream sundae combo that is a bowl of soft serve with a donut on top. This stand also accepts certain Passholder discounts!!!! Definitely give them a try when you're in Universal Orlando.

Mmmm Donuts! (Sadly it was not mmmm tasty lol)

Bought the humongous pink donut for $9 and some change because my teens insisted on it. I don't understand the hype. Basic, dry as a desert pink donut with sprinkles, and the workers that was there on 12/20 were kinda rude -_- as if the customers wanting donuts were a burden. I forgot to take photos of the Apple fritter- that was a disappointment as well. I couldn't taste the apples or cinnamon in it. The cookies n cream D'oh nut were pretty tasty, however. Love the photo op with Chief Wiggum in the front.

My child has been waiting years and years to get back here to try the giant donut! The last time we visited Lard Lad we tried the smaller donuts. They were delicious! If you want a nice, fresh donut without purchasing the larger portion, I highly recommend getting some of the smaller ones! They are pretty amazing and worth the calories. The Oreo donut is simply delish! The cereal ones as well. This time we got the huge donuts. Sooo worth it! They come in a huge box, so they are very portable. Do not forget to ask for forks so you can eat them easily. These donuts also tasted very fresh. We took ours back to the hotel and had a hard time finishing such large portions even after a few days. Right now they cost $7.99, not too bad considering the size. Be aware the line here can get very long. I was here during Spring Break and the parks hit capacity, so we waited. If you do not want to wait you can purchase the large donuts in the Quicky Mart, but the kids wanted theirs from the donut cart with the fun photo opps. Universal goals for next time would be to get the donut ice cream sundae!

uncooked still doughy..

i've bought some of the big doughnuts from here no problem typically the chocolate and pink ones and today when i was eating the pink doughnut i realized it is still doughy/uncooked in the middle hopefully i don't get sick off of it..

Ok it looks like I'm going to be messing up the average ratings here but this was disappointing! As a die hard Simpsons fan, I was super excited to try Homer's favorite doughnut place. As a doughnut lover myself, I've had my fair share of doughnut experiences. From Krispy Kreme to Dunkin Donuts, I believe I know my doughnuts. The place didn't even meet up to Dunkin Donut standards. The famous pink Doughnut didn't taste like anything special. I was expecting it to be similar to the strawberry frosted doughnut at Dunkin. It didn't even come close. The other doughnuts we tried weren't great either. Not to mention, the doughnuts are overpriced! Almost 8 dollars for one. Granted they are big though. The only thing I can say is it makes for great pictures but not great taste.

(Dined 03/04/20 WE @ 12:00pm): This lad's arse was feeling pretty lard after eating this ginormous donut! On the grounds of Universal Studios Resort Orlando (Universal Studios Florida to be exact), I had to drag my travel friend along to Lard Lad Donuts for a gigantic snack and its iconic Big Pink Donut from the animated series "The Simpsons" fame. I loved donuts - apple fritters to be exactly - but as a tourist I had to get this massive pastry. Did this donut have any merit or was it totally for show!? PURCHASE The Big Pink Donut ($7.49): This giant donut with sweet, creamy thick fluorescent pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles was a sight to behold, be held, and be eaten with all the childlike giddy tendencies you could muster. The pink frosting was layered on thick yet didn't crackle off which was a good thing while the actual breading was more dense than airy fluffy as I'd hoped, and I wished there were more rainbow sprinkles for complete coverage. A fun "meal" but could've been better https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bWGb5pG-ZXX3cUN-0hbekg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE I was greeted by a middle-aged somewhat curmudgeon woman who wasn't in the mood for any pleasantries which I found odd. And when asked if they had the apple fritter, she vehemently retorted, "we have had those for over a week now!" Furthermore, unlike the Hollywood location where they had several donut types to choose from, these were the only options here. Anyway, I got my donut, paid up, and walked over to a nearby bench to grub down. PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) General parking for the massive theme park started from $25.00, but my friend and I took a Lyft ride in and skirted parking altogether. Also, I believed if you stayed at any of the resorts in the area, shutter services were available. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Truly a wooden shack the size of a large storage room with only a walk-up order/pick up window with barely enough room to fit two individuals inside let alone any available refreshments, you ventured nearby for a table to enjoy your purchase or walked with it. A very legible price menu was placed on a window where you ordered https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=X5O3iXgEh_6LOp-BDBpvBg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Plenty of natural lighting since you were outdoors while various electric light poles covered the rest. There were no TVs while the whirling sounds of conversations, rides, etc., filled the air. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xXV3yG5MFsznzsM8Tflg-g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL If you visited Universal Studios Resort Orlando (specifically the Universal Studios Florida park portion) and were a fan of "The Simpsons", then you definitely had to seek out Lard Lad Donuts for the experience of a giant donut to be eaten proudly while seen by others. Sure, this was 100% a marketing tool (my career has been in marketing for over 25 years!) because the donut wasn't amazing yet still fun to eat. But in my case, I was actually excited about the prospects of the apple fritter which they were out of. I'd go back again for merely shits-and-giggles and another cool photo op https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=B0x7IK4f4JP6QWD5Yta6Cg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. I found good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $8.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Don't you love it when a restaurant exceeds your expectations? Granted, I went in not expecting…read moremuch to be honest. I feel like the vast majority of BBQ places here in Orlando are all kind of the same. There use to be one place in particular I really enjoyed when it first started and as it expanded with multiple locations popping up everywhere, it lost its soul irreversibly in the process. S&D was not our first choice initially. We had just had drinks at Sideward brewing and were looking for some grub. We looked up on Yelp, and this was only like 3 minutes away. When we walked in, I felt like we were in a replica of Stardust coffee shop. It's got so much vintage stuff everywhere. It had a laid-back hippie vibe that immediately made me feel right at home. They had a DJ playing old school music; I loved it immediately. I appreciated the simplicity of the menu, and so it was easy to make up my mind. I went with the smoked turkey breast plate. When done right, smoked turkey breast is delicious so that was the test for me. I chose fries and baked beans as my side. My friend chose the pulled pork, mac n cheese, and baked beans with the addition of the corn bread. My other friend had the 3 meats plate. he chose brisket, chicken, and pork belly. I loved everything on my plate. The difference from other BBQ places being that this was homemade, you can taste the difference from other places that are just heating pre-packaged stuff up. Having said that, you're also going to wait, especially on Friday night when they were pretty busy. We sat at a table where we could see people cooking. I loved watching the girl add the cheese to mac n cheese and flip the noodles around, watching them ooze with cheese. That was such an awesome sight to behold. The turkey was moist, smokey and absolutely delicious, I would've loved another slice of it. Having said that, if you go in hungry, you will probably have to order something else in addition to your meal, depending on what you get, the portions can be small compared to other places. (see pic) I tried some of my friends cornbread, it was so good! Also with that homemade taste and more akin to a cupcake without frosting rather than cornbread, but still really delicious. During our visit we got to try some complimentary chicharrones, probably because of the wait time we had for things. Afterwards we were also treated to some mini donuts and those were spectacular!! simple cinnamon and sugar but oh so good! I honestly can't wait to go back for another visit.

The concept of donuts and bbq doesn't seem like it would work but it was actually pretty good!…read more Since it was our first time we always try and order a variety of items to see if there's anything that stand out. We tried several of their sandwiches and a tray of donuts. The pork sandwich was decent, I'm not a fan of the bbq sauce, a bit too thin for my liking, not real option for hot either, lot of sweet or vinegar options, which sweet bbq + sweet donut = a bit overkill. Some heat would have been nice. The bbq overall was a 6/10 as there wasn't anything that stood out as a star or that you'd get anywhere else. The donuts were way too sweet for us, they are well done, but if you like super sweet then they'll be right up your alley. There wasn't much for service as we ordered from the counter and sat ourselves at the table. Overall I'd say check them out!

I went in for a glazed twist donut that's combined with regular Donut dough and chocolate dough. Walking out with a free vanilla iced donut was a great way to celebrate National Donut Day. While it was obvious they were VISITED today, and the plaza isn't the cutest, the Donut quality is great, and the customer service I received today was PHENOMENAL. Consistent in quality like a blue chip stock that you hold onto for 35 years. Ambiance is great. Storefront is in a dingy strip mall, but inside is a wall of donuts that looks like the Great Wall of China in donut form. A formidable display of deliciousness that will make your day better from the very start. Service is equally as formidable. There are always a ton of people in line, but they serve their way through them very quickly and efficiently. Very nice folks, and they always seem to have everything in stock. The donuts themselves are the best part. Soft, airy, topped with the perfect amount of toppings, filled with the perfect amount of fillings, and there are a few truly unique offerings that are very intriguing. You just can't go wrong. Overall, other gourmet offerings are out there, and they're pretty good, too, but Donut King is my original, and quite frankly, if I'm driving out to the coast for a long day of birding, I would pick the King over any of those other places anyway,

Friends, this place is proof that compromise can be beautiful. Sweet meets spicy meets (meats?) savory. Every bite felt like someone dared a pitmaster and a pastry chef to create the ultimate brunch, and somehow they pulled it off. The only drawback? Ventilation. It's stuffy inside. Plan on smelling like a smoky glazed donut the rest of the day. PS. If anyone wants to bring this concept to KC, I'd like to be considered an early investor. Parking wasn't an issue either. As I walked in, I was greeted by who seemed to be the owner and a young woman. Very nice, lovely staff. Everyone was so sweet. My only issue was that they didn't have a good portion of their menu ready and it's mostly because they didn't have the gravy for their dishes. The ones we wanted came with gravy and the staff let us know they were behind on making it. So we pivoted and tried their prime rib smash burger but unfortunately that felt a little disappointing. For the price that it was, you'd think that you'd get a decently portioned burger or some sides with it but it was super tiny. And the bun felt like grocery bread, the type you can get for a home bbq. It was still delicious but rather disappointing at the same time. We ended up having to order a third dish just to feel satisfied and at least it was very good. The bowls are worth it, maybe not the burger but the bowls for sure! I also snagged up a donut and truthfully that is one of the best donuts I've ever had. Another downside to this spot and why I didn't give it a 4 star is because how slow the service was. We watched a whole family get up and leave because it was taking so long, I actually felt bad for the staff and owner. The place has great tasting food, just needs a little shaping up. Maybe someone who can run the kitchen as a head chef. Overall, I still recommend the place but just know that you'll be waiting a while and some things may not be available.
