I stayed here because of a 49er game we were all going to. The service was not horrible, they were cordial and polite. The rooms were clean, the bed was not comfortable at all. We saw pictures of a hot tub on site and when asked if they had one, they said no. Which was odd because the pictures on their website and other sites showed it did. Older looking hotel which is ok for the price to crash for the night. Don't expect much from them though. At check-in, you have to sign a $150 deposit in case you smoke in the room. There was a stove top and kitchen in the room, but we didn't use it to cook anything. Bed and bathroom were clean. Towels were a little rough. Downstairs restroom next to the gym, which had a sign for guests to ask for the key...I was told they typically don't let anyone use it. Gym had an elliptical, treadmill and a set of dumbbell weights. There were no towels there and the wipes were stuck. Treadmill and tv in the gym didn't seem to work for me. This is an older hotel, never heard of it prior and thought we would give it a try. I booked a studio with queen bed, the room was equipped with full cooking utensils and cutleries. Also had a full size refrigerator, that was a little on the older side and it was a bit loud when it does what a refrigerator does lol. Decent size bathroom, equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and lotion. This came in handy since we forgot our body wash at home. Plenty of parking out front. We thought it was odd that there was only 1 ice machine to service the entire building which consisted of 4 floors of rooms. The amenities included washer & dryer, you pay of course. It's in a good location close to multiple shopping center such as Michael's, Walmart, BigAls and many eateries. For those traveling with low budget this is a good hotel. No swimming or jacuzzi but a decent fitness room. read more

Watch your bank/credit card statements!. Accused us of stealing the blowdryer and a pitcher from the room, charged $57.10 on top of the $150 deposit for incidentals. Went in to chat with the manager who told us his staff said we took the items and gave us the number to the district manager at another location. Spoke to her and she said she would call us back and asked us to double check our belongings for the hair dryer that we didn't take. She never called back. That's bad business in my book. I travel to the bay area just about every week. I often choose to stay at larkspur landing hotels because of the amenities and the price. This was my first visit at Milpitas, I have to say it's not my favorite I much prefer the location in Campbell, however it was OK. Spacious living area tiny bedroom open kitchen. Not the cleanest room I've been in. No luggage carts available either on check in or check out which was a bit of a struggle for me because I travel heavy lol. I happen to know that the manager Sean Is an awesome person and would take seriously any problems Anyone might have. Most of the staff was very nice. Don't hesitate to stay at any of the locations. We recently moved and our new place was still being prepared. I chose Larkspur Landing because they allow AARP discounts and have full kitchens. The staff was amiable and helpful. The rooms are equipped with a full kitchen and utensils. During our stay, the weather was in the triple digits. It was nice to have a separate air-conditioned bedroom. My husband could watch TV in the separate living space when I needed to rest. I would recommend staying if you are in between moving. read more

I went up to the mainland to attend a family wedding last weekend, and upon arriving in the bay area, I booked a hotel in the Milpitas neighborhood called the Larkspur Landing. How did I know about this hotel? Truthfully I didn't, but my sister folks had stayed here in the past, so I had asked her how was her stay, and she gave me positive feedback. The Larkspur Landing hotel is not too far from the Mineta San Jose airport (I wanna say it was about 6 miles away or so). Although the hotel is not too far from the airport, don't worry gang, the hotel is situated in a quiet neighborhood where you won't hear any airplanes fly over, and the beauty of this hotel is that it is situated close to several strip malls where you can get something to eat if you're hungry, close to shops if you had forgotten some items while traveling, and if you have to go anywhere, the on/off ramp of the freeway is close by so you can jump on quickly. A few nice things about this hotel - 1. Free PARKING! Now days, most hotels charge you for parking, but this hotel offered free parking, and to top it off, there was ample parking available. 2. Free BREAKFAST! Well, kinda free...........while I was booking my room, I picked the room rate that included the breakfast package. When I say breakfast, I'm not talkin' about someone throwing down a box of donuts, & offering you some coffee! Lol! This hotel provided a full scale breakfast, as they offered drinks like -coffee, juices, & milk. They also offered toast, muffins, pastries, pancakes, waffles, eggs & some kinda "meat" entree each day. Dry cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, & yogurt were also offered. 3. Free NEWSPAPER - there was a stack of newspaper in the lobby everyday, and you can help yourself to a newspaper to keep up with current events. 4. Laundry Room - I noticed that this hotel had a laundry room with washers & dryers. When I use to travel for business (in the mainland), I would stay on the mainland for weeks at a time (but I would only bring up 1 week worth of clothes), so having a hotel that provides amenities like a washer & dryer is invaluable, as I would wash my own clothes over the weekend. 5. Exercise/ Workout Room & Whirlpool Spa - This hotel also had a small exercise/workout room, as well as a small whirlpool spa. I did not partake in any of these amenities, as I was pretty busy doing other stuff while I was up here, so I didn't have the time to check it out. 6. Business Center - I saw a small business center by the lobby area, if you need to check on something, and need to print out say an airline ticket or document, they provided some computers & printers here. 7. Room - Our hotel room was quite spacious, and they provided free wireless internet service (wifi), as well as a full sized fridge, stove, microwave, an office desk to do your Yelp reviews on (Lol!), large flat screen T.V., centralized A/C, hairdryer, ironing board & iron. The Larkspur Landing hotel has got your covered here! No doubt! Overall I had a pleasant and wonderful stay here, and would tell you that I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel property and stay here again! Now you must be wondering if I had such a good stay at this hotel, why a "4", instead of a "5"? Basically I had to dock a point because one day, we did not get maid service............... I don't know what happened that day, but after the maids skipped service on our room that day, I walked to another wing on our floor to flag down the maid to tell her that they had missed our room. Unfortunate for me, the maid I had contact with told me that she did not speak English, and unfortunate for me, since I don't know Spanish, I probably could not get my message across to her. I tried to tell her that they had forgotten to service our room, and thought she had understood what I said, as she asked me to write down my room number on this folder, but after coming back to our room that evening, the room was not served. Darn it! No big deal, but what I really needed was some clean towels, so I had to go downstairs that evening and ask the clerk who was at the front desk for new fresh towels. The African American lady working at the front desk was friendly, & efficient, as she took my request, then shortly later came to my room to drop off some new clean towels. Great service! Again, if you're ever in the Milpitas area and need a hotel..........you should really check out this property, as the pricing per night was very competitive, and the hotel provided a lot of free amenities. I booked a room here and I ended up sleeping in my car outside the hotel. If you book your room and you use apple pay make sure that you have the physical card when you check in. If you book your room through priceline or another booking site and you use your cash app card or Chime or paypal or venmo or varo etc etc etc, make sure that you have a card issued from a "brick and mortar bank." They do not accept tap and pay for the incidental deposit (which is funny considering they accept tap pay at their terminal but i guess thats just to buy chips or whatever) and they don't accept cards that are not from legit banks. They will then refuse to refund you, even though this is not advertised and Priceline even states that they offer contactless check in and check out ... uh ... no they don't! read more

Her AGM, Arnold, who was not even onsite and left this inexperienced worker alone with no supervisor or manager, was equally unskilled and lacking in knowledge and helpfulness. The first week we were charged for the reservation we had already paid for through Priceline and were told we shouldn't use a third party. Took three weeks to get our credit card charges back. We were told it was a system issue. Here ten weeks later it has happened again and when asking front desk to reverse charge and only charge us for the security deposit, we were told there was nothing that could be done and we would have to talk to daytime front desk employee to rectify. Ive stood here about 5 times now or more, have always booked through expedia. This was the first time i had a bad experience. The employees did everything to make our experience and check out great. My problem is with upper management, when i checked in he said i had booked 2 rooms which was false, i had an original room canceled it and rebooked. I provide the cancelation number like he was asking for but kept insisting i had 2 rooms. This all took about 10-15 min to check in when normally 3 mins tops with everyone else ive ever dealt with. As i checked out the very next day i look in my account i have 2 room charges pending on my account? I never consented nor signed for the other room, now im being charged for a room i canceled? Both of them the following day clearing on my account. I myself had to call to tell them the issue that shouldve been taken care of before i left the hotel, But instead i looked and im being double charged. Thankfully the lady who answered the phone was going to pass the message along to reverse my booking rate to my account, but now i need to wait 3-7 business days for the reverse but if upper management would've take care if it when it happened it wouldve never went through and i would be leaving a better review. But unfortunately MANAGEMENT fell short on this one. This is solely on the man i spoke to when i checked in, maybe i will book in the future but as of right now. Front desk clerk was so very rude and unprofessional! She never spoke a word, except to say this is your room! Left to a concert, and when we returned, the lobby smelled so bad like Marijuana, which didn't bother us, however our room had it the worst!!! We checked out immediately, and told the clerk, and again never said a word to us, and handed us our bill! She never said sorry or would we like to move to another room, she just handed us our bill. Although the experience wasn't as good this time around, I'll still point out a few of the hotel's pros. -free breakfast -free parking -pet friendly with a fee -complimentary laundry equipment (very nice) My first visit was really positive but I have to say this time around I didn't enjoy it as much. The rooms they stuck us in were outdated and we asked to be moved after being stuck on the 3rd floor in the middle. The room we got afterwards on the main floors A/C unit didn't function and the room was super warm. There were knats outside & the smell from outside of trash flooded the room when we had to open the window for cool air. After telling the two ladies at the front desk - they told me to try working the unit directly, which I had already done. I was then called by the front desk saying it would be abt a 1/2 hr for maintenance to come fix the unit, when they had told me they would look for another room to put us in. It was already midnight at this point so I was a little disappointed that instead of just moving us - we had to have someone come in and try to fix the unit. They should have moved us immediately instead of bothering with having maintenance come out - which was pointless. I gotta tell you that after staying at Staybridge Suites just before, this hotel was a downgrade. We moved rooms 3x & only stayed a night so to have to transport our belongings that many times room to room is tiring especially if you have an early morning flight to catch. read more

First time staying here wasn't too bad. Yes the rooms are outdated as everyone says but still decent looking room. We got to check in at least 2 hours early which was great! Once we walked in, looked like a small studio with lots of space. Living room area is big with stocked kitchen and a big walk in bathroom. The bed was comfortable and pillows were soft. Tvs are a good size with good channels, both in the living room and the bedroom. I only downgrade it 1 star because the walls can be a bit thin, I could hear my neighbors talk while laying in my bedroom but they weren't too loud where I had to complain. Also breakfast is decent, they have eggs, waffles, toast, and boxed cereal as well as boxed oatmeal. Very light breakfast but at least it's free! Location is great, it's next to the freeway, lots of shopping centers around as well as food options. I will be back in the future if I decide to stay here again. read more

My elderly parents were in a heatwave and the power went out. Trying to escape the heat with their 2 small dogs, they made a reservation here one and specifically noted they had 2 small dogs and my mom was disabled. Upon check-in my mom didn't mention the dogs because she had done so when making the reservation. They charge her for the room at $126 and an additional $150 for the deposit. My mom assumed the $150 was for the dogs. They hadn't been in their room for 1 hour and management came to the room and said my parents were being too loud and they "can't have parties". What? My 70 year old parents and their 2 dogs? When management came to the door, she noticed the dogs. She offered my mom a different room with more privacy for an additional $36. She also told my mom that each dog was an additional $75 each. So, $126 for the room, $150 for the deposit, $150 pet deposit and $36 for the upgrade. Thats almost $500 just to check in. Ok $300 she'd get back but she'd have to wait 3-5 business days. My parents were just trying to get out of the heat! They don't have $500 to front like that! The rooms are filthy, hairs on towels and pillow cases. The phone is cordless, it didn't even work and had a broken antenna with a small piece of metal sticking out. The place reeks of incents and they steady burn it in the lobby. The elevator door gets stuck and the carpet on the second floor is ripped out and looks as if there's construction going on but it's definately not in the outdated rooms. My parents weren't even there 2 hours but they wouldn't refund my parents so my they ate the $126 and checked out. There are several other hotels in this area. Trust me....give this one a hard pass. read more

Be Careful your valuables could be stolen. I've been in many hotels throughout my life, and this has been easily the worst experience I've ever had during my stay at a hotel. The staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful right from the first moment my wife and I stepped into the hotel. During my second day there, I placed some of my clothes in the dryer and went back up to my room. I came back after the drying time was complete to get my clothes to discover that they had been stolen. Upon inquiring with the front desk they were rude and did not want to provide any help whatsoever. Apparently there are no cameras anywhere in the laundry room and the hallway. I also discovered that even though the guest laundry room is supposed to be locked the staff leaves it open. It became quite clear that the staff members were biased or even racist at times as my wife and I look different. The staff member at the front desk, named Caesar, was trying to manipulate my wife and I when we came through with a complaint about the stolen clothes. He claimed that they prefer that guests stay all 45 minutes next to the laundry and drying machines while their clothes are there. I've used public laundry areas in hotels throughout my life and it is never expected for guests to stay next to their clothes and this is the first time my clothes have been stolen. When we tried to escalate the situation and ask for a manager, they stated there are no managers present except only on Mondays, and they even rejected trying to contact any one in charge. In short, the staff was clearly biased and racist towards my wife and it was an overall horrendous experience. read more

Probably the worst place we've ever stayed at. The pictures show the ripped towels, the smoke alarm with no batteries, the dirty toilet paper area, and chipping wall. What we didn't do pictures of were the hair on the shower curtain. Found this last minute room for our trip to Levis Stadium to watch our Boys put a beat down on the 9ers. Let me start by saying that the location is great. Driving distance from the SJ airport is about 10 min. The hotel itself is at the beginning of a shopping center...Walking distance to In&Out, Walmart, Applebees, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc. 10-12 min to the stadium. The hotel is nice, the staff is very friendly. We booked a room with a king bed and the room itself was BIG! A family of 4 could stay there. They have a separate living area that has a pull out couch and a full kitchen and a large bathroom. I will say that the comp breakfast is not the best but enough for a light breakfast. They did have a hot tub..did not go in. I wasn't there for that. Also the cabinets in the room are a little outdated but that wasn't a problem for me. read more

Have stayed at a couple of different Larkspur locations and none of them have failed me so far. I like this location because it's close to the freeway and it has free parking. Also, there are a variety of stores and places you can grab some quick grub if you don't feel like traveling too far away from the hotel to get your grub on. They're all within walking distance. There's an In-N-Out, Applebees, and McDonald's just to name a few of the fine dining options in the area. The room itself are what you would expect from a Larkspur. A kitchen area in the room along with the sleeping area. Granted, we didn't use the kitchen area, but it's nice to have in case we ate out somewhere and had some leftover and wanted to take it back to the hotel to eat later. The room was nice and clean, as expected from Larkspur. The free continental breakfast was just alright. They had scrambled eggs, waffles, cereal, and toast. Not much variety, but it's free so you really can't complain. The seating area was sorely lacking. It was like a communal area and people that ate before us left a mess on the table, so be cognizant of that. It might be better just to grab a plate or two and take it back to your room to eat. read more

This place was doomed from the start. As soon as I arrived I couldn't get in the front door and had to walk around the building to find a shoe wedged in the back door. I went straight to the front desk where I waited for the employee to notice me. A fifteen minute argument between the front desk and an upset customer took place over phone as I stood patiently waiting. While I was waiting I asked another employee how are we expected to enter the building and she said she doesn't speak english. 2 minutes later she slips up and asks me a perfect sentence in English. I just have such fond memories of this place, not because it's particularly the best I've been to, the most comfortable (eh I wouldn't know) or the most amazing stay I've had, but it was my first look inside a hotel room. We didn't trash anything, and I do remember it being quite nice here, but the staff did not like us much. I imagine if I decided to stay here again (but why?) it would be such a different experience, but for what it's worth it's one of the nicer ones in Milpitas should your travels bring you to ... I booked this hotel for my parents through Expedia. Paid the full $122 and there was nothing in writing about needing to pay an additional $150 once checking in to the hotel for a security deposit. So my parents arrived and the man was rude to them and said if they couldn't pay the security deposit then they couldn't stay at the hotel. First of all, This isn't how you speak to elderly who has their daughter book the hotel for them. So what this hotel is basically asking for is the full $122 I paid for one night in addition to $150?? he said it states it on their website. There is nothing on their website that states it nor Expedia's confirmation or while checking out on Expedia for this hotel. First of all, I never booked the hotel directly through the website so if it was in some fine print at checkout then people who purchase via Expedia or any other third party site shouldn't be responsible for the deposit. If they want every customer to be responsible for an upfront $150 deposit then that needs to be clearly stated on the actual website and not in fine print at checkout. I have never had so many issues with reserving a hotel as I did with this one. It should never be this complicated. Come on, guys!! If anything, it is more common to just put a credit card on file and not charge up front a security deposit which I am very well aware of. read more

If you're in town and are in need of a nice clean hotel this is your spot. My friend and I were in town for the night and enjoyed our stay. The rooms are very clean, which was pleasant. When staying in a hotel it's a MUST that I feel like I am at home. The furniture is a little outdated, but nothing that will deter me from staying here again. The hotel is quite as guest aren't loud and noisy which is a huge plus. I've stayed at hotels where some of the guest were rather noisy, which can be unsettling. There are many restaurants and shops in the area, within walking distance, so if your looking to venture out you won't have to travel far! For the price ya, me thinks NOT! So where do I begin I chose this location based on what I saw on the internet photos... OF where and what room I have no clue ... this place for its price point is some where between the luxury of motel 6 with a kitchen. and motel 6 for the current updated aesthetics would be a four star with out a kitchen in the room ... sad comparison but true. Now, Lets take a verbal tour of this place. Starting with plus points to get out of the way, there is a gym, a full laundry mat in side the building and free parking. They do have a full breakfast (that I did not partake in) , with quick accesses to local businesses and the 880 freeway. I stayed there with my boyfriend who paid for a day and a half from Friday night til Sunday for our stay. Now for the room.... (brace yourselves). So, he told me we upgraded to a "Deluxe" suite which comes with the benefits of a dishwasher, I suppose there are rooms that do not have these but dont worry if you didn't, you did not miss out on much. Walking in to this room was like walking back to the 90's and what ever was to be considered boardroom luxury from those times first eye soar to stick out was the desk/ table for food, gambling, or way to role play being the boss on the apprentice show... the table was THAT BIG ....lol and blunt i mean no style what so ever and attached to the wall... I guess business execs who like staying in motel like settings want a giant table for one. lol ok well I had to use the restroom as most people usually do when they get into their room... I was not exception, the bathroom was okay kinda big but I noticed the toilet paper was at less than half full which tells me who knows how many others got to spin the roll before it got to use to use... yuck! oh and how do I know you would ask... and how I know the staff knows.... is because the toilet paper was folded all professionally like a new roll and yet there was hardly any left. one thing i noticed from the lavatory throne was how withered the drawers were... they have definitely been through some better days thats for sure, they basically followed a dull yellow and white tone which was the theme color for all cabinets in this room and the cabinet doors were not aligned like a couple of them were slightly crooked, as well and again more weathering like i could not get over this was supposed to be a deluxe suite. I needed something from my car so I took the stair well... well I can tell the whole place has not received a major make over in a while and who knows how long the poo on stairwell 2 floor has been there. ... what ever it is and when it happened who knows it was petrified again, disturbing. but okay went down got what I needed came back in through key entry side door. then back up passing the pooh and back to the room. In the room now still looking at the gargantuan exec dinner table that comes with two business chairs to completely feel not at home with your home cooked meal. you get exactly ONE pot ,ONE pan and a few utensils to use. there was a rice cooker... a few plates spoons and forks. and a working coffee pot. the first toaster we tried to use completely fell apart when trying to toast with it so the maintenance man was nice no shade to that guy but still then after that we had to show the broken dishwasher that looked like its also been through better days. there was no sponges to wash with. again mind you this is supposed to be a luxury suite that he spent nearly 500 for just a night and a half I was looking for some sign of luxury lol.... even the artwork in the room was self serving and ugly it was basically a framed larkspur hotel poster ( true class right ? lol) the couch looked like it was a used motel 6 lobby couch, and the windows were very uninviting our view was the parking lot of the in and out burger restaurant. I was thirsty but I wasn't gonna drink the non complimentary water they offer for 2.50 per 8 oz. bottle lol. I just went to big lots which is just a round the corner down the street sorta lol and got 2 6 pack crystal geyser 23.05 oz bottles for 1.75 for each pack! lmao.... where did they get their price points from and dont they know the dollar store and Walmart is on the same block they need to really review the area they are in. needless to say that water from the inn is still sitting in its bottle and will stay their through kingdom come. lol as for the beds . well cozy yes, but who knows where the pen stains came from. now this is what Im sure many people who stay with will be in jeopardy of having on their bill because its questionable and to me, NO guest should have this looming over their bill theres enough to be uncomfortable with as it is... so there is your review save your money on this one and try a location that reinvests in their extended over night locations.... this one is a joke. read more

Disgusting. This place is foul. I checked-in at the end of a long day ready to rest and walked into a room with stained sheets and someones PUBIC HAIR on the toilet seat. I went right downstairs, told them what I saw and requested another room on a different floor. They gave me a new room and said I should call the front desk if there was another problem, I went into the next room and this one had dried piss on the toilet seat. I called the front desk, on speaker because the handheld phone was GREASY, and they told me someone would go and do a check on the next room they changed me to so there wouldn't be anymore issues. I get into the room. The top sheets SEEM clean. There's finally nothing on the toilet seat. I was so tired I knocked out for 2 hours, when I woke up I showered, and when I got out EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of the drying towels had hairs on them. CONTRARY TO THE STUPID DECISION TO LIFT THE MASK MANDATE WE'RE STILL IN A DAMN PANDEMIC. I can't believe I'm dealing with this level of filth. These rooms CLEARLY are not being cleaned and sanitized between guests. I know people who have DIED because of this virus and conditions like this piece of crap hotel aren't making it any safer for anyone. I'm writing this at 4 in the morning and leaving this review on every platform I can find because this is so goddamn unacceptable, people need to know before they come here and expose themself to this contamination. I want an immediate refund so I can get the hell out of here and find a stay at a DECENT location. I'm not asking for the damn Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons, I just want a freakin room that's been PROPERLY CLEANED SO I KNOW IT'S SAFE TO BE HERE. If your staff isn't willing to do the job that needs to be done then hire people who will because people are being put in danger. EDIT: I just found more hairs on the backs of the pillows I made the stupid mistake of falling asleep on. I always bring my own pillow and sheets to avoid this exact type of crap and of course the one time I don't I get the reminder of exactly why I do it.
