I have stayed here twice now while traveling for work. My first experience was great. No sound pollution, courteous hotel neighbors, gym was clean and empty (which is how I prefer it when I'm running for my life). All the reception staff and dining staff have been great and it was all great. The only issue I had was on my second trip. I was on the outside arm of the horseshoe facing the train station. As one would imagine, train stations have.. trains. Trains can be noisy, and this was quite the case which prevented me from getting to sleep (and staying that way). Overall, I would stay here again, but I would absolutely request to stay on the mall side of the horseshoe. read more

I enjoyed my two-night stay during a last-minute business trip. The staff was extremely welcoming and made me feel at home immediately after a long day of travel. I dined at the lobby bistro and was impressed by the freshness and overall quality of the meal. I also utilized the lobby on several occasions to work and appreciated the quiet, comfortable atmosphere. My only minor concerns were the low water pressure in the shower, which I understand may be due to water-saving fixtures, and the motion-activated thermostat, which went idle overnight and caused some temperature fluctuations. Courtyard Milpitas served its purpose for what I needed but I would probably stay somewhere else if I visited again. The front entrance was under construction as of my visit (2/20/25). Therefore, guests are required to enter through a back door and walk down guest room hallways to get to the front desk. Not a huge inconvenience, but worth noting. The guest rooms are pretty standard but a little dated. The layout of my room was a little different than most Marriotts I've stayed at. The side of the bed faced the TV instead of the bottom of the bed. Again, this isn't a big deal but just a little odd. My room had a tiny "balcony" which faced the busy road and bus station. I can't imagine anyone actually uses the balconies, so this just seems like an outdated "feature". My room could hear significant road noise from the busy road. I'm a deep sleeper, so this didn't bother me, but this is definitely something to consider. Parking is free, which is a plus. Some hotels around here charge for parking which seems crazy because there is plenty of space. When I booked my room, I selected the package which included breakfast since it was only ~$5 a night more. Not knowing what the breakfast would be, this was a gamble. I've included a picture of the breakfast options that are part of the breakfast package (burrito, banana, and coffee or juice). If you don't select the breakfast package when booking, nothing is included. Overall, the breakfast was mediocre at best. The avocado spread for the breakfast burrito is all that it had going for it. Do I feel like I got my $5 worth? Yes, and it is convenient. However, if I were staying here multiple days, I wouldn't do it. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience but I wouldn't recommend it to family and friends, either. Hence, the 3 stars. read more

I specifically looked online for a hotel that had a hot tub advertised. My stay was 3 nights over the Christmas Holiday so I was looking forward to the Hot Tub time in-between family gatherings to relax. There was NO HOT TUB ! Even tho it is still listed as of this writing. When I asked at the front desk she said, oh yah, we remodeled. We washed clothes here since we stayed for 5 days & we had to pay for the dryer 4 times & our clothes all still came out wet which is insane cause each dryer time was 45 min. The WiFi & tv has not been working our whole stay . The walls are so thin u hear everything especially when people walk by or just open their doors . My room was on the first floor. The water pressure was very strong (in a good way). The cleanliness of the room was decent. The TV was big and you can watch Netflix and whatnot. I didn't sleep well though. The door might not be very well insulated so I could hear people being loud outside 5 in the morning. Then some weird mechanical sound every so often also caused me to wake up. I am somewhat of a light sleeper so maybe I should put on white noise next time. Breakfast was included. Stayed at this Courtyard location for three nights during my visit to Nor Cal! It's within walking distance to the Great Mall so if you're into shopping, that's a big plus. Was given an upgrade to the Executive King room (thank you Marriott!). It's a slightly larger room but in terms of the layout/offerings, it's honestly not much different than a standard guest room. Note room is clean and comfy, and the stay was nice! Did not use any of the amenities as we were out and about during the daytime so can't really speak to the pool area, common lobby area, or the fitness room. At a quick glance, the lobby area (see pic) seems to be newly renovated. Complementary parking is a plus because it seems like more hotels are now charging for parking. read more

I had an exceptional experience at the Courtyard in Milpitas on a recent business trip. The room was nicely appointed, clean and new. I particularly enjoyed the chair-and-a-half with a laptop stand beside the bed. It was very comfy and large enough to stretch out on. The desk was ample whit a chair that reclined with a stiff springiness. The shower was roomy, clean, and the water hot. I stayed on the first floor towards the back end of the hallway and heard a bit of loud noise in the hallway from a group of families with small kids. Otherwise, the room was very quiet. I ate breakfast daily at the bistro cafe in the lobby. The food was quite good for a hotel cafe. My first night was a Tuesday, during which I was greeted by a manager's reception that involved bottomless complementary wine, beer, and light deli snacks in the lobby. The lobby itself is not cavernous, but very comfortable with a variety of seating spaces for different group sizes. The staff was stellar. Five stars for an excellent visit that I will go out of my way to repeat! read more

We had a very good experience staying at the Courtyard Marriot-Milpitas. Everything was very clean and modern, they went the extra mile to make sure everything felt tidy and looked nice. The shower was great, and I appreciate that the bathroom wasn't cramped. Nothing's worse than stepping out of the shower and feeling like you're practically hugging the toilet. To top off our stay, the breakfast included with our room allowed us to choose breakfast sandwiches or burritos, or many other food options from their bistro free of charge. The sandwiches we got were pretty substantial with thick fresh bacon, egg, cheese, and arugula. Should we need to stay in the area again, we'll defiantly be back. read more

First impressions were good - my friend was in town for a training, and by the time we made our way out to the shuttle pick up spot, we didn't need to wait long for it to arrive. Courtyard Milpitas Silicon Valley is a three story hotel set by the Great Mall off of the Montague Expressway, with direct access to the mall parking lot as well. Registering didn't take long, and we soon found ourselves in a comfortable room with two beds, a single chair with futon, a desk and chair, a large tv, hidden tiny fridge, and a pair of courtesy bottles of water. The sink and the toilet/bathtub combo were conveniently separated for roommates. The hairdryer was found tucked into a closet along with the iron and ironing board. They have a swimming pool, but it is set outside and is rather small, and unstaffed (aka no life guard) per the sign posted. Breakfast is available on the first floor across from the registration desk, at The Bistro, but is not included unless you sign up for one of their room offerings with breakfast included specifically. But even so, breakfast may be purchased a la carte. Order at the counter and they'll bring you your order. Milk there is $1.25 before tax. And they serve Starbucks coffee. I started typing this up on their computer off the lobby. They have two of them with a printer set between. So far there hasn't been a time limit, which is nice, particularly since my last experience with a hotel/resort computer was where it kicked me off every 15 minutes and then I'd have to get a staffer to enter a password to get me back on for another 15 min block. An annoying thing about this computer is the squished nature of the keyboard - I keep pressing the wrong key when I try to backspace or do something funky like strive for one of those shift options above the numbers.. If you are coming from Montague Expressway from the south, you might want to take the left onto Great Mall Parkway and come in through the Great Mall entrance, else you'll have to pass by the hotel quite a bit and take a U-turn before turning into Falcon Drive and entering the official way. My bed was fine for being a strange bed, but my friend's mattress was not as cushy on the side by the bedside table. Once she started sleeping on the other half though she slept quite well. For evening showers, the water temperature and pressure was quite good. But during one AM shower, we found the pressure to be insufficient. Wi-Fi in the 3rd floor room was iffy, but did just fine when we were on the first floor in the public space. If parking runs out in the front, there's more space out back. Parking is free. I never did find the gym, though I admit I didn't search for it all that hard. read more

I stayed here for 5 nights for training at a company nearby. I'm really satisfied. I usually stay at cheaper motels, so it looks very nice for me. The room was big enough and clean. The bed was comfortable. Shampoo/conditioner and even mouse wash were provided everyday. 2 water bottles, coffee/tea were also complimentary daily. Breakfast was included, and it was tasty. Excellent service here! I'm here for a stay cation (Plus business reasons) and this place really is a home away from home. The front desk staff are super friendly and you can choose to use your phone to unlock your room which is super cool. I love the amenities and also close walking proximity to Bart and Great Mall. I rarely have the motive to write Yelp reviews, but this one deserves it. This hotel is great! Why? The staff and especially Rosey or Rosie hospitality was above and beyond! She was very welcoming, kind, and helpful. What I also like about this hotel is that it is quiet. You can get a nights rest without hearing cars driving by or any other noises like you normally hear at hotels. Plus you won't wake up with any sunlight hitting your face. Their drapes can fully cover the windows. Lastly, free parking is available and is in front of the lobby which makes it convenient. Therefore if you're looking to relax somewhere quiet with a great staff, choose here :). During these COVID times they are wearing masks, so bring a mask if you're staying. Typical courtyard. Clean and updated for the most part. Very expensive but this is the city by the bay. Nowhere close to ocean and I don't recommend as a family hotel. It's a couple blocks from a huge mall. 3/3 service. Didn't get the king I reserved and the front desk folks were not super helpful. 4/5 room was nice. TV was 50" plus. 2/5 lack of outlets. No USB's. U think they would have some since we are in Silicon Valley. 4/5 breakfast team is fast and efficient. Starbucks is good. 2/5 no microwave for rooms. Most have one in room or one upon request. I'm a lifetime platnium/titanium. No biggie but it seemed liked they struggled. Paying $450 nite for a courtyard in out of way location was just a bit jarring compared to other courtyards across the country. But hey, I got a bed, shower and a place to park. It felt safe. Muslim lady (I forgot to ask for her name) at the front desk had some issues dealing with customers. Checking in at 4:30pm yesterday. She made me wait more than half an hour and kept looking at her computer. I can tell that she did this by intention. She was the only staff at that time. Then I asked her politely when can I have my keys, but she just told me to wait with rude attitude. She did not give me my keys until I asked to speak with the manager. Other customers are trying to check in as well. This just completely wastes my time and totally ridiculous. Do not book for this location!! read more

BUG BITES!!! I stayed here for 2 nights and ended up with 8 large bug bites (3 the first night and 5 the second night). Jim Schramm from corporate followed up with me and tried to dismiss the situation by telling me that "sometimes it can take up to 2 weeks for a bug bite to show on your skin and so it is unclear that the bites came from my stay." Now this, this was a much, much better place for a quick stay in the San Jose area, especially if you end up having a few more friends around. And perhaps some prohibition style liquor. The rooms are plenty large, the beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms are nice, clean and well stocked with towels galore. The soap (this is weird I know) is especially luxurious for a standard hotel since I'm used to boutique hotel, boutique soaps, and the staff is extra friendly especially in easing the pains of checking in and checking out. It is really ridiculously close to the mall, so expect a lot of teens in the area, but not very much activity at night. Definitely not a place you can walk to a eatery but there is a few great plazas a mile or so down the street with your selection of Asian cuisines or American / Fast-food / Mexican cuisines as well. read more

It's very quiet, very clean, snack area is always filled and I love that it has a microwave to heat up TV dinners, whether I buy it at Target across the way or from their snack area. Yuck. We were passing through town on our way from LA to SF and thought this was a good resting spot. The relatively high Yelp rating encouraged us to book here. My bf is partial to the Marriott family of hotels. I was really disappointed. I wish at some point it was communicated to us that this hotel was under heavy renovations. The front desk was actually located in a stripped down hotel room at the back entrance of the hotel. My bf thought it was strange when he had to sign a "no party" contract at check-in. I guess that they are used to some wild nights in this town. To top it off, the people at the front/back check in desk were lacking a great deal of personality. Luckily, we were only booked for one night. This branch of the Marriott family does not offer a free breakfast, which is disappointing. We weren't planning on eating breakfast at the hotel, but it would have been a nice offering considering all the inconvenience of the renovations. Some of the regular hotel amenities were located in different hotel rooms on the first floor. I felt really bad for the guests placed in rooms in the hall ways of the first floor because of all the noise and foot traffic. The actual hotel room was small and smelled stale. The towels were like sandpaper. I was utterly disgusted to find some dental floss thing in the bed. Ewwwww. That was it was for me. This place is dirty and disgusting. It's great that they are renovating, but you can dress up crap however you want. In the end, it's still crap. Thank you, but no thank you. read more

I always try to book with Marriott and booked this hotel as it was close to the work I needs to do here for a couple days. The woman at the front desk has been very nice and my room was clean - those are the positives. No bar, and no way to buy phone charger were two negatives. But the extremely loud and inconsiderate neighbors ruined my night. I called front desk to complain of loud music - she said security will take care of it - here's how that exchange went --guy opens door "Yo!" Security guard:"Yo! Your neighbor is complaining about you so try to keep it down, yeah?" Man "yeah" and slams door. Music stops for five minutes then back again. I put in earplugs and cover my head with pillow and finally fall asleep and someone is pounding on my door at 2:30 am - after second round of knocking I drag myself up but don't answer and it's some delivery guy for next door - he leaves their food and they slam the door ... unbelievable. And then at 6 someone is knocking on their door again ... assholes. I know it's not the hotels fault but it ruined my experience, I was useless for my morning calls and dragging for rest of the day. If you're traveling for business - stay somewhere else. read more

Front desk team was plenty nice, but this is the second time I have tried to order a late dinner from the Bistro here only to become frustrated with the amount of push back I get from ordering a simple sandwich. I asked for a Roast Beef Sandwich with Havarti and Horseradish (menu item) was told that this is not a lite meal because it includes soup and to essentially pick something else. I then said I did not want the soup, just the sandwich and charge me accordingly and was told that he could not do that either. So I dined on a delicious bag of sun chips from their market. Nice hotel located within walking distance to the Great Mall. The place is clean and up-to-date in their furnishings and technology. My only concern was on my first night, in room 248, I slept in the left side of the bed next to the radio and wall. Every five minutes I could hear a soft and sometime loud banging. At first, I thought it was our neighbors next door. Nope. I only got 4 hours sleep that night. I reported it to the front desk and they apologized and said they would let maintenance know. They offered to move us to another room, but we were their for only one more night. They then gave me two pairs of ear plugs. That night the banging still persisted and their ear plugs were no help. I always carry a pair of ear plugs myself, so those are the ones I used. The next morning, I woke up and checked my Fitbit to see how many hours I slept, WOW, 9 hours. What a difference. If you are a light sleeper, avoid room 248. read more

This is a really cute hotel that my mom booked for me over the Labor Day weekend. She thought I'd like it since it's literally right next to the Great Mall. But since I did not visit it at all, I felt like this was more of an inconvenience. Great Mall traffic is pretty ridiculous, and it took quite a bit of time to get into the hotel parking lot whenever I came back. But for those who plan to shop, this is probably an advantage since it's in walking distance. The Good: - Very tastefully decorated - Comfortable beds. Not sure what kind of mattress they use, but it felt like some foam/spring hybrid that was not too soft and not too hard. - Paul Mitchell Shampoo and Conditioner!!! - 40" TV. TV size isn't an issue, but it is pretty nice - Slightly better hair dryer (1600 watts, which is more powerful than most hotels) The Not-So-Good: - Uncomfortable pillows. They're way too soft and don't offer much neck support. - No MTV and Comedy Central - No free breakfast - No TV Check Out They have a 24 hour Starbucks inside and a Bistro, but I didn't take advantage of it. Service was nice, and when we checked in, my friend got to spin the wheel for free rewards points or prizes. Ended up getting a free appetizer. The room itself was pretty big. The ceiling was high overhead and there was plenty of room to move around. TV was placed off to one side, which was an odd placement as the bed was facing 90 degrees away from it, and the couch was not in front of the tv either. I suppose the weird placement was because if they had put it in front of bed, it would have block the exit out to the back patio on the first floor. So that's understandable. We had a king size bed, and it was SUPER SUPER comfy. The pillows were really nice too, soft, but just firm enough to offer some support. The buffalo wings we end up getting were okay, nothing stands out really. Really wished they had a hot tub. The hotel is built near train tracks, and at least on the weekdays, a train does pass by and blow the whistle. So that can be a rather rude awakening. I didn't mind it so much since I was actually awake before that happen, but just a note to others here. Overall, I like this Marriott and enjoyed my stay. read more
