Exceptional Service motivated me to write this review. First I want to focus on the friendly, helpful and professional staff. From checking on parking requirements before my booking to the check in with Aastha, who was exceptional all aspects have been 100%. The room is clean and reasonably appointed. I have strong hopes on the breakfast. All booked thru Hilton App with no issues. The phone key was not functioning at this time but I saw that Hilton is footwork on the backend systems on the 28th of September. No worries, card keys were quickly provided. Pros: -Close to San Jose airport -Quiet, safe location -Walking distance to a number of decent looking Chinese restaurants, including a large Chinese retail market called 99 Ranch -Lady who checked us in late at night was very friendly -Free and decent hot breakfast -Room was spacious and clean Cons: -Rooms are a bit outdated. My bathroom door was self-closing which was kind of annoying. That said, hotel has began renovating the rooms. -Picked and reserved my own room on the app, but upon arriving, was given a different room. -There was a weird humming noise that went on and off throughout the night (room 404). Sounded like the water heater of some sort in the walls was active. Overall the stay was decent. Service Animal Discrimination, Multiple and Repeated Credit Card Fraud & Financial Abuse at Hampton Inn Milpitas - A Community Call to Action 215 Barber Court, Milpitas, CA 95035 As a Hilton Honors Silver Member, I never expected to face outright discrimination, harassment, and financial fraud at a Hilton property. Yet that is exactly what happened at Hampton Inn Milpitas. Discrimination and Harassment Upon arrival, the front desk agent -- not wearing a name badge (in violation of Hilton brand standards) -- told me she could not check me in with my service animal. She claimed that Gabe, the General Manager, instructed her she was "not trained" to check in service animals. When I asked to speak with Gabe, I was told he was unavailable. Instead of professionalism, I was met with anger, defensiveness, and harassment when I asked the receptionist for her name. I even offered to show my injuries and service dog ID, though the law does not require it. Still, I was told my options were either to leave or stay and risk animal control being called to take my service animal away. This is a blatant ADA violation (Title III, 42 U.S.C. §12182) and a violation of California Civil Code § 54.1 guaranteeing service animal access rights. Fraudulent Charges & Credit Card Abuse What makes this even worse is the financial misconduct tied to this property's management: * They were forcing me to sign fraudulent "pet fee" authorization forms -- despite ADA law prohibiting such fees for service animals. Ps- none of my other Hilton stays have asked me to sign this form. * My card was charged without authorization, and Hilton Corporate has been unable to get in touch with the property's management to issue a refund. * This has escalated into credit card fraud and financial fraud. Comfortable stay at this hotel. I liked the convenience of being close to the freeway. There are good choices for lunch and dinner within less than half a mile radius. Horrific customer service! We had several incidents occur during our stay the worst being that janitorial busted through trying to enter our room in the early morning before checkout AFTER she kept bothering and knocking way earlier and we let her know we were still sleeping! She invaded our privacy ! Not once but TWICE literally walking in ! THEN at 11pm when asleep the emergency ring went off in our room! Probably our worst Hampton Inn experience. Hilton online showed a 2 queen room that slept 5. Knowing queen beds sleep 2 each I wasn't sure if there was something I was missing for the additional person. Confused, I called the location directly to get clarification. The person who answered explained if it said sleeps 5 then it was for a suite that had a pullout couch. Based on this info I booked the room online about a month before our travels. A few days before our stay I checked out the app to verify the accommodations were accurate. Again I noticed the same 2 queen bed that only sleeps 4, not 5. I called again and spoke with Amanda, apparently a manager. She told me I would need to pay to upgrade the room or cancel the stay as the room only slept 4. I explained to her my previous phone call prior to booking and the info the rep gave me along with the assurance it was a suite with a pullout. I offered her to send the screenshot of the advertised room and description showing her "sleeps: 5" and my call log showing I called her hotel prior to booking. She was unhelpful in resolving the issue as she insinuated I chose the wrong room. After emailing her GM with no response and only 2 nights prior to our checkin I called Hilton guest services. They were able to reach out to the hotel, yet it was Amanda again who emailed me saying I needed to pay the difference or cancel the stay. Eventually, Hilton Corporate/Guest services was able to solve the issue as they could clearly see the online listing description saying the room sleeps 5 but with only 2 queens. The Hilton rep, Moustafa, was super compassionate and caring and comped the difference in the room prices so we could have the room that would fit our group. To top it off, Amanda later emailed me back that she had made a one time adjustment and that she made the correction, LOL... NO, actually Hilton corporate did since she and her GM FAILED TO DO SO! The room itself was outdated, cramped and right next to a loud, busy highway. Being that it was only one night we made due and vowed to never return to this location. The front desk staff was very unfriendly while checking in. The room was clean, but the bathroom was awkward. The bathroom door would not shut, and the sink didn't have any counter space which made getting ready in the morning difficult. I would book at the Sonesta directly across the street instead. I feel a little odd giving a Hampton Inn 5-stars. I typically reserve that kind of rating for things that are fantastic in every respect and for hotels, that typically means things like opulent lobbies, stuffy doormen, executive lounge and triple digit valet parking charges. Hampton Inns are none of these. But, when scored within the context of the Hampton Inn brand, I kind of like this place. Hampton Inn is the budget friendly brand in the Hilton portfolio of hotels. Usually good value and practical perks like reserved parking spots near the entrance for their most loyal customers (Diamond level), free coffee and tea in the lobby, free breakfast for everyone, and rooms with refrigerators and microwaves. For road warriors like myself that get tired of eating out when traveling, these extras can be pretty welcoming after long travel days. Why this particular hotel checks the 5 stars for me is that it is in a quiet area (tucked into a cul-de-sac off the main roads of Milpitas, the staff are really friendly and helpful, there is plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the shower, and it is right across the street from a large strip mall full of Asian shops and restaurants. For a budget hotel stay when I am needing a great night of sleep, it doesn't get much better. When I am on the road, sometimes the last thing I want to do is have to worry about going out again in the car to try to find dinner somewhere. This usually results in me ordering something for delivery which usually means a pizza and not a good one either. Hotel delivery pizza is pretty much in the genre of college dorm pizza and I got that out of my system decades ago. So imagine my excitement when I discovered I could simply walk across the street and be faced with about 20 authentic ethnic restaurants and a large Ranch 99 grocery store with a hot deli full of stuff to take away. That's a pretty good end to the work day in my book! Dumpy hotel, poorly maintained, and long overdue for a remodel. The lobby gives a false hope that the rooms might have been remodeled at some point in the last 25 years, but unfortunately everything is old, tired, damaged, and just worn out. Mystery stains and water damage on the ceilings and walls, and many more unsatisfactory things broken and "out of order" with no signs of ownership, management, or maintenance people caring about anything. My wife and I were supposed to go to a conference in the area. I made a reservation on my Friends and Family rated account; I'm also a Diamond member. My wife had to go alone as I had an emergency work issue. I called the hotel the night before and asked if it would be a problem. The night person said they added my wife's name to the reservation on a note and it would be fine. My wife drove up and at 8 pm, Hanadi told her that she could NOT check in: there was a note explicitly stating she could not. Hanadi called the manager (I assume Ameet) and they made a "one time exception" and then lectured her about the FF policies. Hanadi was overall nice when I spoke with her and thus far, has been the only agent with a sense of customer service and kindness. The room according to my wife had an odor, maintenance issues, and she had bug bites when leaving in the morning. I reached out to my Diamond service and they said the hotel would be in touch with me. They have not reached out, not that I'm shocked. I'm sure now that this one star review is up I'll get a call? I called twice to talk to Ameet but he "wasn't in." Also, I suspect the note was changed from "okay" to this note check in thing by the manager. If that's the case we were never notified of this. How hard would it have been to contact us? This hotel created a safety issue for my wife traveling alone: she now had no place to stay and it was 8 pm at night in a city far from home. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Normally, Hiltons are great but this franchise doesn't even come close to living up to the quality normally associated with that name. There are better options with Hilton or its competitors so why have such an experience? It's a shame to see Hilton associating its quality brand name with a hotel that runs things the way this place does. Had a business trip in San Jose and it is always hard to find a good hotel at a decent price especially in San Jose. Found this Hampton Inn about 3 miles from the office in Milpitas. It is located at the end in a court which has a large mall with many Chinese restaurants and stores. When I first got out of the car it was noisy as it is right by the freeway. I thought I will probably get a room on that side. Needless to say I got a room on that side but it was really quiet. Great insulation from the noise outside. Was greeted by Star who took great care of me when checking in and during my stay. They offer hot and cold options for breakfast which I had each morning. They have coffee and tea at al times. They also have popcorn and cookies in the afternoon. Nice lobby area to sit and relax and a big television to watch the game or the news. I will stay here next time I am in San Jose. read more

Just completed a wonderful three night stay here at the Hampton Inn. They are conveniently located not far from the eastern end of Ciscoland tucked away on a cul de sac. My room on the third floor in a corner was quiet despite the busy 237 being just outside. It had everything I needed including iron, hair dryer and HBO to get caught up with Silicon Valley. The king size bed was soft and comfy and the room AC had a button for constant fan which is handy. The included breakfast each morning was well done and even offered some hot food in addition to the typical waffle iron. The people working the breakfast did an excellent job keeping it stocked and everything clean. The room had plenty of seating for single diners like me in addition to tables for groups. Parking was free and never an issue for me. There's a nearby shopping plaza to walk to for dinner if interested. Well done. read more

I booked 3 nights here last week because I needed a quick getaway from the kids and stress lol. Anyways I wanna say this was the worst experience and most grossest ever. As far as the room goes... It's not bad. But I am not writing this because of that...my first night I took a shower and I heard what I thought was squeaky breaks on a car but I was wrong. I was hearing screams right above me. It sounded like a woman was being beat with a belt and she was screaming bc of the pain. This went on my whole stay. I called the front desk and told them there was some sort of domestic dispute going on upstairs. I told them it was there job to call the authorities and help whoever the screams were coming from. They said what I was hearing was wrong and to not worry. I heard the same screams literally right after I got off the phone with them. I refuse to ignore women when they are in thehands of an abuser. I called the police myself the first day I was there. Unfortunately they never showed up. I called them a 2nd time 5 hours after that but still nothing... Take what you want from this but if I was the person reading this I would one,not support this place and stay somewhere else or 2 submit a tip to the police station so they get enough complaints to go the hotel and help whoever the lady was. My aunt and I stayed here for the weekend to attend a wedding. Check-in wasn't until 3pm but they were nice enough to let us check in at 1pm. They provide complimentary breakfast every morning from 6am-10am. The spread wasn't bad. They have a waffle maker which I thought was pretty cool! The location itself is pretty convenient. Less than 15 mins from the airport and across the street is an asian plaza with lots of restaurants and a 99 Ranch Supermarket. This is somewhat an underated hotel. Not too many area familiar with the Hampton Inn line of hotels. They are actually part of the Hilton Family brand of hotels. So if you are a Hilton Honors member, staying at the Hampton Inn will add to your stays. I stayed at this Hampton Inn location not too long ago. The place is very clean, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The service and value of the rooms here are actually better than my stay at the Luxor in Vegas. Each stay includes complimentary breakfast in the mornings. Each room also has a microwave, coffee maker, and fridge. The rooms also have internet access included. Of course you need to have your own laptop. My only complaint is I stayed on a weekend, and it looks like on the weekends they only staff to a bare minimum. So things might not get done right away, but they are very courteous, and take into consideration the situation with their staffing. I would definitely stay here again. read more

The breakfast was good, but I would have liked it more if there were more hot food offerings. This Hampton Inn is pretty standard, no frills. Complimentary breakfast in the morning (although the breakfast spread falls short of other Hampton Inns. They make up for it somewhat however, because they prepare bagged "breakfast to go" for guests so if you're in a rush you can still start your day with a meal. There are only four floors here, and unlike some other Hampton Inns, there are coin laundry facilities on site. This hotel is also at the end of a cul-de-sac so it's pedestrian-friendly. Across the street is McCarthy Ranch, which is an area of Asian (mainly Chinese and Japanese) restaurants, bakeries, and general eateries. You should be adventurous if you eat there though, because the menus of these places don't really cater to English-speakers, but you shouldn't have trouble getting something to eat. But across the freeway a short drive/walk away are your standard American fare - In-And-Out, McDonald's, Togo's, Applebee's, etc... Which brings me to my main concern about this place. It's located right at the intersection of freeways 237 and 880, so if you're driving it gets kind of congested around rush hour. But really, my concern was about noise level. Fortunately, I can say that auto noise never bothered me, but I was lucky enough to get a room facing away from the freeway. I don't know if noise is an issue if you're staying in a room facing the freeway. I stayed here three nights and had a fine time. Perhaps a bit overpriced, but it is in the heart of Silicon Valley. read more

Comfortable place to stay with good amenities, but it's a little scuffed. Our room was clean but a little under maintained. Door had been kicked far too often and a wall sconce was simply missing, the holes in the wall gave it away. DirecTV in HD on the set was fine, but wifi was troublesome and the iPad just didn't like it, can't explain it. This Hampton Inn serves absolutely the exact same breakfast on the same plastic plates as every other: fresh waffles, "bagel toppers", pre-fab omelets, oatmeal, yogurts, breads, juices and hot brown water *cough* sorry I mean coffee :). A huge bonus that morning was a big bowl of fresh, ripe raspberries, I could have eaten them all. And free is the best price. Impossibly convenient for visiting Cisco and SanDisk which are right next door. A great choice for a hundred bucks, less attractive if you're paying a multiple of that. read more

I called for 2 rooms (one accessibility) for an emergency visit for an ailing relative. The front desk lady (I am sorry I forgot your name) was outstanding! She was able to secure a VERY reasonable rate (way lower than the web-advertised one) and found us adjoining rooms. We arrived early and she recalled our requests when booking and checked directly with the housekeeping lady to verify the rooms were clean and ready. We were given 5 star service throughout our stay from nice and clean rooms, smiles from all the staff and assistance whenever we requested it. I would absolutely book here again. Made a reservation based on reviews. Had to cancel due to a car accident resulting in a hospitalization. The hotel manager on duty on Friday, March 29, 2019 refused to refund the reservation for even just one night.  Lack of compassion and respect for human dignity should not be rewarded with business. The rooms are on par with any other Hampton Inn. My iron didn't work and it just spread water all over my clothes. I was able to get another one. I couldn't get any water bottles or soda though. All the machines in all 3 floors were sold out and when I asked the front desk, I was told to go across the street to the Ranch 99. I probably won't be staying here again. read more

We have always stayed here, but noticed of late things are declining. The rooms are clean and well maintained, but the front desk staff is NOT good about dealing with wild parties in the wee hours of the morning. THREE calls to the front desk over a period of several hours, and the young woman answering kept saying stupid things to us like "It was ok". It was NOT okay. Those people should have been moved or tossed out. Running and yelling in the hallways, constantly slamming their doors, it was UNACCEPTABLE. Yes, I expect to be able to sleep at 3:00 a.m.! Spent one night during Memorial Day Weekend. Was surprised it was not busy. Nice quiet environment. The rooms looked clean and they had little post-its on the beds that says all the duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases, etc were clean. Free wi-fi in the rooms and free breakfast in the morning. Their showers were so powerful... it felt like having a water massage on my back/neck. Beds were comfy but the pillows lack any support. Although they do give you plenty of pillows but it just made it awkward to sleep on. It's right across the street from a shopping center that has really good restaurants. But since this place is located at the end of a cul-da-sac, it was still very quiet. Overall... not a bad place to stay... However next time, I would bring my own pillow. read more

Plus it is facing the highway.....the Windows are too thin as well, so you can hear everything that is happening from outside. A Nightmare! A comfortable Hampton inn, though starting to get a bit dated and consequently doesn't have quite the clean or neat feel that some hamptons do. But the staff were friendly, and it was much more affordable than the larger Crowne Plaza next door. Lots of parking, and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Uber/Lyft pickups were quite fast, so save yourself some time and don't book a rental car if you can avoid it. read more

So we needed a local get away. This place is really nice. Not too many people know about it, so its not busy or over crowded! Really clean and neat. None smoking, so it doesn't stink up the place. Breakfeast is yummie, front desk is very helpful. We really like it here, this is our 4 time coming, and I can defiantly say there will be more to come! read more

Great value for our family SF vacation. So many different restaurants near by and we drove from OC, so driving about 30 minutes to SF and about 1 hour to Muir Wood wasn't a big deal. Clean hotel with different breakfast each morning was nice. You'll find out, but stay away from fruits, they're old. Instead take uncut apples and oranges, so there you're covered. We stayed there on business during the second week of September..the rooms were clean, however the front desk agent Star, was downright rude and has no people skills in offering hotel hospitality. Contact was made with all the other agents, Amanda, Deanna, and Gordon, which were pleasant, however, we DO NOT know how Star is still working at the hotel. Asked her a few questions, and simple requests, in a normal visitor inquisitive manner, She presented an attitude as we were bothering her. She answered in a very abrupt and direct manner, with a facial expression as " wtf , are you dumb?!"...It was very prevalant that she must've been having a bad day or she just took offense with our inquiry. Upon leaving a bit bothered, with the treatment she offered and oblivious as to what we did to deserve the attitude, she made snide remarks, which upon asking her what she said, she became verbally confrontational, to the point, we told her, WE don't wish to be confronted by you in that manner and walked away. We simply asked about out rates and billing receipts. She was very unprofessional and detrimental to retaining customers, as it was a MAJOR turn off...Don't know whats happening with the Hilton chain...Star was not remorseful, apologetic, or able to explain what went wrong. We've could have genereated an attitude towards her and get into a big confrontation, but that was not what we were in Milpitas for..Its was to conduct business and some R&R which was greatly disturbed by Star's poor customer hospitality..Although the other agents were professional and friendly, we don't see or recommending staying there again...We thought just trying it as an alternative to Embassy Suites and Crown Plaza where we normally choose to stay along with our colleagues... read more
