There is an older white haired man who works there who stands right by you and has bad gas. I kept walking away from him to get away from his flatulence smell and no matter where I stood he would purposefully stand near me and fart. It smelled so bad that we had to leave. This shop is the absolute best! I wish I knew of it sooner, it's easily become one of my favorite shops and recommend to anyone who absolutely loves miniature things. Whether it's dollhouse, diorama, book nook,etc needs. They have EVERYTHING you can think of in miniature form here. I can truly spend hours in there. Super unique, you won't regret it. Possibly the worst customer service ever!!! As soon as we walked in there they all turned around and wouldn't let us browse in peace. There was a very rude lady who I repeatedly had to tell that we don't need help looking. She kept coming up to us and it made me so uncomfortable. I've came to this shop several times and have spent $1000s of dollars but this is the absolute LAST time I give them my business. I bought what I wanted because I had promised my kids and this I didn't want to break my promise. But I drew the line at this: the lady once AGAIN asked (in a rude manner) directly to my daughter "do you need help, don't ignore me you're being extremely RUDE" to where I calmly said to her, "my daughter has AUTISM" I told her don't take it personal if she doesn't speak, and the lady snapped and left. After I bought my stuff she still wouldn't acknowledge her mistake and said "take care of these items" like it doesn't concern her if I want to throw the items to the trash or melt them, I'll do whatever I want with my stuff. She then said "these are expensive" and I said I know because I've been there several times. I then told her again that she should really be mindful about children with special needs. She gave me excuses not acknowledging her rude behavior.... I remained calm and didn't stoop to her level. She finally apologized when I just looked at her quietly. I wouldn't recommend this second hand smelling place. It smells bad everything is expensive and they're all snobby to the customers. I felt disgusted. I don't know how they remain in business with that rancid attitude. I would give them ZERO stars if I could. Overpriced cheap things. read more

Wow, I can't believe this place only has 2 reviews. This shop is huge and has a massive selection of just about everything you could ask for. I have been to a lot of stores and this is one of the best I have ever seen. They have everything you could need for any room and all prices are very reasonable. I can't say enough great things about this shop and the ladies who work there. I have seen this store many times and thought "I should stop in" but it wasn't until today that I finally did. I can't believe I didn't sooner! They have a HUGE variety of miniatures that range in quality from good to amazing and priced as appropriate. Now, I know miniatures aren't cheap, but I wanted to see what I could do on a moderate budget and I was really surprised how much I could find. There are lots of adorable and fantastical miniatures in this store for under $20. Most of the things I bought today were under $10 each including a tiny microscope, camera, valentine's conversation hearts, a modern-title book, valentine chocolate, a hollow jack-o-lantern with removable top, 10 candy canes, very detailed blue jay, intricately wrapped Christmas presents, a basic Christmas tree, and an i-pad. An i-pad!? How cool is that!? In the $10-20 price range I got an Easter basket containing colored eggs, a foil egg and a plastic-wrapped chocolate. Also a battery-operated string of lights for my mini Chrismtas tree, a beautiful lavender ladies hat with a rose made of ribbons and a miniature electric chair for Halloween! The woman that helped me the most was super friendly and very helpful in finding things I was looking for in my price range. She gave me lots of good tips and suggestions but I didn't feel pressured or watched over at any time in the store. There when you need them, not there when you don't; the staff was perfectly attentive and respectful. Just as an example of the wide variety of things they have, I saw accessories for every room of a typical modern house, vintage/victorian house as well as accessories for candy shops, bakeries, gas stations, gardens, outdoors, pet shops and farms. I love that they have a miniature terrarium with tarantulas in it and an aquarium with gerbils in it. Not just cats and dogs (of which they must have hundreds of different ones). They also have a good variety of farm animals, birds (domestic and wild) and some other widllife (foxes, owls, etc.) Prices range from inexpensive to very very expensive. Typical smooth finish pets might be $5-20 but I saw a very detailed cat that was actually fluffy that was closer to $200. They had a miniature rifle for $9 but also another one for $130 so you can get something simple or something amazing, depending on your budget. I love this - it can be very intimidating to look at the prices of miniatures and the fact that this store has both ends of prices made me feel really welcome as someone who isn't heavy into this hobby. The staff also helped make me feel very welcome. I can definitely see myself coming back here. It was a REALLY fun store and I'm so glad I came in. This is a big asset to Ventura County and I recommend supporting them. PS they have lots of doll houses for sale and they do accept credit cards! Yay!! read more

I was so excited to support a local shop. Some of the ladies are nice, but generally I found the dollhouse items outdated & old fashioned and staff to be stuffy. There is so much online for miniature designing right now that is contemporary and fairly priced, that's it's painful to try to shop here. I have, none the less, because as said it's important to contribute to local shops, but I think I'm done. Today when I suggested that each mini produce item be $1 instead of being different prices or each (some were $4 for one item) - I was rudely declined. I went ahead and got about half of what I had planned to get and still spent $45 on tiny food items (see photo), instead of the initial $100. Overall, as much as I really wanted to love this place, and support a local shop, I won't be going back which is so sad. They've been around for 40 years which is amazing, but clientele will diminish if the items (and overall attitude) are not updated. read more

This is a wonderful store. The owner and the employees are super nice, friendly and very helpful. The inventory is amazing. The doll house items range from very responsible to a very high end merchandise. You can browse for hours in that store and discover new things each time. I just love it! I can't believe there are only two reviews. People are missing out! I went here last week with my mom visiting from out of town. The store had, if anything, more to see than it had a year ago, the first time I went. There is so much to see, it's almost impossible to take it all in. Highlights for me are the tiny copper pots, the tiny food, Napoleon and Josephine regally posed in a magnificent period bedroom, the Cro-Magnon cave man display, the fantastic array of holiday décor - endless Halloween and spooky fun for your dollhouse including tiny coffins, endless Christmas fun - several different styles of Christmas décor, and, being inclusive, even tiny Hannukah décor. There is so much. Whether you are just browsing or shopping for some specific miniature item to build or decorate a dollhouse, this is the place to find it. Drove up from Orange County and it was well worth it. I remember the old Larrianne's from many years ago and had not been to this location. I would consider this store as close to "dollhouse heaven" as possible! Laid out beautifully, everything you can imagine in ALL price ranges. Just going there will give you great ideas for your hobby. Staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. It's more than dollhouses though. Miniatures of everything imaginable are featured.
