I can't say enough great things about this shop and the ladies who work there. I have seen this store many times and thought "I should stop in" but it wasn't until today that I finally did. I can't believe I didn't sooner! They have a HUGE variety of miniatures that range in quality from good to amazing and priced as appropriate. Now, I know miniatures aren't cheap, but I wanted to see what I could do on a moderate budget and I was really surprised how much I could find. There are lots of adorable and fantastical miniatures in this store for under $20. Most of the things I bought today were under $10 each including a tiny microscope, camera, valentine's conversation hearts, a modern-title book, valentine chocolate, a hollow jack-o-lantern with removable top, 10 candy canes, very detailed blue jay, intricately wrapped Christmas presents, a basic Christmas tree, and an i-pad. An i-pad!? How cool is that!? In the $10-20 price range I got an Easter basket containing colored eggs, a foil egg and a plastic-wrapped chocolate. Also a battery-operated string of lights for my mini Chrismtas tree, a beautiful lavender ladies hat with a rose made of ribbons and a miniature electric chair for Halloween! The woman that helped me the most was super friendly and very helpful in finding things I was looking for in my price range. She gave me lots of good tips and suggestions but I didn't feel pressured or watched over at any time in the store. There when you need them, not there when you don't; the staff was perfectly attentive and respectful. Just as an example of the wide variety of things they have, I saw accessories for every room of a typical modern house, vintage/victorian house as well as accessories for candy shops, bakeries, gas stations, gardens, outdoors, pet shops and farms. I love that they have a miniature terrarium with tarantulas in it and an aquarium with gerbils in it. Not just cats and dogs (of which they must have hundreds of different ones). They also have a good variety of farm animals, birds (domestic and wild) and some other widllife (foxes, owls, etc.) Prices range from inexpensive to very very expensive. Typical smooth finish pets might be $5-20 but I saw a very detailed cat that was actually fluffy that was closer to $200. They had a miniature rifle for $9 but also another one for $130 so you can get something simple or something amazing, depending on your budget. I love this - it can be very intimidating to look at the prices of miniatures and the fact that this store has both ends of prices made me feel really welcome as someone who isn't heavy into this hobby. The staff also helped make me feel very welcome. I can definitely see myself coming back here. It was a REALLY fun store and I'm so glad I came in. This is a big asset to Ventura County and I recommend supporting them. PS they have lots of doll houses for sale and they do accept credit cards! Yay!!

I was so excited to support a local shop. Some of the ladies are nice, but generally I found the dollhouse items outdated & old fashioned and staff to be stuffy. There is so much online for miniature designing right now that is contemporary and fairly priced, that's it's painful to try to shop here. I have, none the less, because as said it's important to contribute to local shops, but I think I'm done. Today when I suggested that each mini produce item be $1 instead of being different prices or each (some were $4 for one item) - I was rudely declined. I went ahead and got about half of what I had planned to get and still spent $45 on tiny food items (see photo), instead of the initial $100. Overall, as much as I really wanted to love this place, and support a local shop, I won't be going back which is so sad. They've been around for 40 years which is amazing, but clientele will diminish if the items (and overall attitude) are not updated.

My "haul" from Larianne's - a little Shaker-style box with a lid that comes off - beautifully wrapped in a Tiffany blue bag.

I visited on President's Day and it was a tad busy inside the store; but that's to be expected as it was busy everywhere! To be honest, the reason I stopped in here is because I saw the F*R*I*E*N*D*S gear repping Ventura. I will always be a tourist in my town. :) And, could I *be anymore serious? :) Staff was friendly; not too pushy. I loved that the store had a very "open" feeling inside, too. I get frustrated sometimes in stores Downtown that are cramped inside because I am always afraid I am going to knock something over. The souvenirs are really nice and well-made, too. Definitely does *not have the Vegas gift-shop vibe, if that makes sense. These items aren't mass produced...and you can tell. You can tell they mean something, too. I ended up getting a few stickers and a birthday present. I would definitely recommend stopping in here next time you're Downtown.

REVIEW: This is a very cute shop/boutique at the Ventura Harbor. Just an FYI, it's pretty small inside so be careful if you have a bag or sandy feet. This was my first time and the lady behind the counter was very kind and helpful. One thing that stood out to me is the many varieties of earrings they sell. Quite a bit and they are nice earrings, too. Made with care and style. The employee informed me that one of the businesses they purchase/sell the earrings of even has a loyalty program. Unfortunately, I didn't purchase earrings from said company on this visit but I did buy a few others that are very tasteful. I would summarize that this shop sells the "higher end" souvenirs, if that makes sense. Would recommend a visit here. It's full of treasures indeed that will bring a smile to your face when you think of the Ventura Beach. Thank you!

The team is so approachable and welcoming, so looking for niche romance novels is never intimidating. I'm a sucker for a good and cheesy romance novel and this spot meets my needs and more. In addition they carry beautiful local made trinkets and have the best selection of book related stickers!! Everything is reasonably priced and you have the added benefit of supporting a lovely Ventura business. Smitten holds release parties and while I didn't get to attend the one I purchased they held my book for me and even kept a pin for me that they gave out at the party! I hear rhag it was a black light event with games and snackies, what a treat! I hope you can visit sometime soon! Okay thanks bye!

One of the gals mentioned they knew the owner of the place that we should check out the store and see if the owner was in town. While waiting for the owner we took a look around and found some cute, fun and funny things! They had a Christmas tree decorated with camping themed merchandise which of course caught our attention. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

They've always done a good job of creating small vignettes to show off different themes. This being Ventura, they definitely carry a lot of beach-themed items. One area that caught my eye this time was a section with camping / get outdoors / celebrating the National Parks merchandise. Some very cute and unique stuff to be had in that section. I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful.
