Torsion spring broke on a Friday night. Called a couple people about the price and availability. Larry seemed the most .... compassionate and least annoyed by a business call at 5pm on a Friday. So I went with him He was about 10-20 more but he was willing to come by as early as I wanted on a Saturday. Since I didn't care he said 6:30 and was here early waiting quietly in his truck. Spring was fixed in a matter of minutes plus some good chit chat. He verified that my previous work on the door had been done correctly and verified my maintenance routine. He does installs during the day and repairs at night or in the morning. Typically around YOUR schedule. Not his. It was like having a father or father in law over to get something repaired. Look. It is totally obvious that I only rate those that deserve it. I rarely have the opportunity to meet such an honest worker. When we moved into our house with a home warranty they said they would not touch it because of exposed wires. WHAT??!! Larry took a look at told me what needed it and took care of it right away. Without asking he said that I could pick up a cheap garage opener and he would put it in. I decided that I appreciated his candor and said I trusted his judgement and to please install one he chooses with his service. He went into my disaster of a garage set it up, went out of his way to help me understand how to program the remotes if stolen, gave me advise on making a schedule to maintain the door, explained why he uses certain openers and enlightened me on what it is that home warranty companies do and how. As a small business owner I understand what it takes to provide a good service and to know a trade. He was prompt with phone call responses, he was kind, informative, and great to do business with. Finally an honest & fair, great customer serving, man that so happens to be a Veteran. I will refer him again and again. read more

I'm not sure why my post isn't showing anymore. The owner must not want people to know what he is like. Truth hurts. Anyways, here is what my post initially said. Merry Christmas. I've never felt it necessary or worth my time to mention anything negative about an experience but this guy left a bad feeling with me. This man was very disrespectful and rude. I'm hoping it was just a bad day because I really couldn't believe the tone of his voice. I would caution people to use his service as he seemed to make himself sound as if he was in charge of the City of Oakley quite frankly. I was just really caught off gaurd and by his personality only, I will never recommend his service to anyone read more

I don't ever write reviews, but WOW!!! The arm came off my trolley to my roll up garage door. I called Larry after hrs on a Friday night left a message. I then seen he doesn't work on Sat. Got in the shower Sat morn. and he'd already came to my house. I missed him but he left the bolt and nut at the door and a message to call him if I needed any help. Made my day!!! Thank you Larry. Larry installed a new garage door for me several years ago. I can't even tell you how kind, professional and what an awesome job he did. He showed up on time and finished on time and he was such a pleasure to do business with. One time my grandson pulled on the rope and did something so it would not work. Larry and his wife came over that day because they did not want my garage door opened all night long. He taught me what to do in an emergency if the power fails. He also oiled up all the gears and gave me a can of W-2. My door still works perfect and I think he is the most honest and caring professional I ever had work on my house. He did not even charge me, he said I know you don't have a husband and I have a daughter that I would hope someone would do the same for her. His prices are right, the quality is A+++ and I would never use anyone but him! Plus his wife is so kind too! Garage disaster on a Thursday evening led us to panic and start calling every garage door company in the local area that appeared on my Google search to try to get in touch with someone. So here's is what happened....I pull into the garage after work and walked in the house when we heard a loud crash! Well I didn't pull the SUV all the way in to the garage and the door hit the back of my car and then bounced back up. Unfortunately, our garage door was bent at the top in the middle and we couldn't get the door to shut. Not good for so many reasons. So as I was calling a number of places to get someone to come out and look at that evening my husband trying to get the door to go down ended up making matters worst and now the garage door was off the track and mangled, beyond repair. Now we needed a WHOLE NEW door :( I called one place Franks Garage Doors who said he would charge $99 for a service fee. When I asked him if that could be deducted from any repair/replacement that was done he didn't really give a straight answer. I decided to keep calling. After leaving several messages I got a call back a couple hours later after we were able to get the door for the most part shut. It was Larry Jones and he wanted to come by and take a look that evening. I was very pleased as we felt a sense of urgency to get this fixed right away. He also did not charge any fee for coming out. He took measurements and looked at the door and told us the cost of a new garage door within 5 minutes. It was about $100 less than a quote I received from Frank's. Also, he told us he would be able to pick up the door at 4am in Lodi and be at our house at 9:30am to install it the next day. He showed up exactly at 9:30am and finished installing the door, tracks, spring and other hardware by 11:30am and the door matched our old door exactly. He also hauled away the old door and parts. Having this done as quick as it was without an additional charge was a very nice experience. We called Larry on a Friday afternoon to fix a broken spring on our garage door. He was there within the hour, fixed the broken spring, and replaced the other spring for good measure. He was courteous, efficient, and reasonable. We would not hesitate to call Larry again for any garage door needs that may arise. read more

i just called larry to get an estimate to repair my garage door opener. the guy was extremely rude on the phone. i asked to get an rough estimate, he said if you insist on one, it would be $14,000. i asked really? $14,000? I didn't need the estimate to be exact, but $14,000 is an answer that one gives if he doesn't want your business. this guy obviously didn't want my business so i thanked him for his time and hung up. if you want this guy to come out and give you an estimate, that costs $55. just fyi. another fyi, i replaced an entire door (northwestern double car garage door) for $1600 - just to show how ridiculous this guy is. read more
