I've ordered a few things online, but the store itself was impressive. This Hy-vee had an enormous variety of options. Grocery, grab and go, pre-made food, cheeses, bakery, produce, healthy, deli- I could have spent hours there looking through their items. some pricces are great and some a little pricey, but that's anywhere. Starbucks Hibachi (nobody was there) Asian Pizza Chicken Rotiserrie and Fried Booths and tables to sit and grab lunch. Store is spacious, but the front end was roasting. Very hot with the sun beating in. Customer service left a lot to be desired. Cashier was just awkward, on his phone, said nothing and packed up my stuff and stood there. Didn't greet me, really didn't say much... Doesn't need to be a long conversation, but simple pleasantries may make it less awkward. Lots of great options for EVERYTHING. I will be back next time I'm in the area.

The pastry section is always beautiful and I can't get over how stunning the tarts are. I've come in on some random days where they have sample going on and I tell you it is the BEST! I tend to buy almost everything they sample because it's so good. They had salsas, small sliders, apples with caramel and other stands. I think taking the approach that Costco does with sampling is a great thing for here. The place is always tidy and clean and staff are always very helpful.

It was the case a few Saturdays ago. I was back to pick up two bottles of Fire and Ice Pickles. Michelle is the woman behind this fine business. It was my second time ordering from her. The waiting list is a good month to get your pickles. I lucked out with my timing. She had a few pickup locations. I had arrived in town on a Friday. She had a pickup date on Saturday. It was at this Cub store in Blaine. The window was between 3 and 4 pm. I had no problem finding this Cub store. I was coming from Coon Rapids, so my drive was ten minutes. This Cub store is in a rather vast plaza. The store is wide. It also has a pharmacy. There was plenty of parking just after 3 pm. It was moderately busy. It was easy finding her vehicle with her company's logo on flags. She is a nice woman. She remembered that I stayed in Bloomington the first time that I bought a bottle of her amazing pickles. I was in Eagan this time. I paid with cash. She bottled and packaged my jars of pickles nicely. She worked until 4 am to get all orders ready for this day. I was up till 4 am as well, coming down from the Minnesota Wild winning game 3 of the first round of playoffs. She said that if I needed more pickles, to let her know. She would expedite my order because I "came so far," which was super sweet of her. When I ordered my first bottle of pickles, I consumed them within a day. They are that yummy. They are tangy, sweet, garlicky, with heat. So good! I was a bit better pacing myself with my two bottles of pickles. I ate them before my trip was over. Delicious! They make regular pickles seem so boring. I appreciate that she has Cub pickup locations around the Twin Cities. It allows me to discover new places that I've never been to. We went to customer service and asked if he could briefly use a charger so we could get his phone back on and pay. Liam told us no and wouldn't let us use one, even though other employees told us that using a charger at customer service was allowed. It honestly felt like Liam was being difficult for no reason. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable--we were literally trying to find a way to PAY for our items. A little understanding and basic customer service would have solved the whole situation in a few minutes. Instead, Liam made something simple unnecessarily frustrating. Definitely disappointed with how we were treated.

I believe the deli and food area has more options available during lunch hour than dinner hour, which make sense. At time there would be yummy samples. They also host events for us to try out new things. Take off one star was because some employee previously offer my kids with religious figures toys. It was very strange and they just randomly give the toy figures to our kids without asking parents consent. It hasn't happen for the past few visits and hopefully won't happen ever again.
