It's ok -- 3 out of 5. We decided to try it out since the ratings are high. Service is great. However, the food is ok. Nothing's special. The burrito is not that good, seems like it's not the right cheese. The short ribs were actually good but I was not able to eat the rice since it's was covered by sauce underneath that made it SO much sweet -- can't eat it. The salad was so dry. And spam masubi is ok. They looked good though!

I love birria tacos in California. And birria ramen? Yes please. It was a chilly evening and... I was craving birria. We frequently pass this truck since we love nearby so this was the perfect evening to go try it. You pull up to the convenience store parking lot, park in front (there's not parking on the truck side), and then go order. They have buzzers if it's cold out so you can wait in your car no problem. The birria tacos here (both regular or with quesa) are stuffed to the brim with meat. However, we felt they were not crispy enough and quite easily soggy. Consomme for birria ramen was also not beefy enough and slightly too tart and loose / lacking body. Tacos were a tad too toasted for soft tacos as well. Did it satisfy my deep birria craving? I guess. Would I come back? Probably not unfortunately

This spot offers you all the classic and favorite dishes from each of these different types of cuisines. In addition to serving foods from different cultural backgrounds, they are the only food truck in the area that serves Birria. Birria is a delicious Mexican beef stew, which I highly recommend trying here! The beef is tender and the stew is full of flavor. I also recommend getting their chips & salsa, the tortilla chips are some of the best I've had - fresh & crispy. I didn't get a chance to try their Japanese or Hawaiian dishes, but I'll definitely try it next time I come here! If you are in Kirkland, stop by this unique food truck. You can also find them at local events - follow their Instagram to see the latest events they're at!

Food was okay. $2.50/taco. There was a Cochinita Pibil taco as well for $3.50 but I didn't think it really tasted like Cochinita. Friendly and polite service. We were in the area so decided to check it out. 1 table with an umbrella for the shade.

Stopped in on a whim after grocery shopping with mom; she'd never had birria and I had never had conchinita pibil. We ordered 4 tacos, 1 conchinita, 2 birria and 1 lengua. Birria was decent but a little dry, next time I'll ask for a side of the braising liquid. Lengua flavor was great but be ready for the texture if you order it. Y'all, the conchinita was amazing. So much so that I'll be ordering a bunch to take back across the mountains when I leave. Chips and salsa were delicious. Worth the wait for sure!

I never knew I wanted birria dipped in ramen noodle soup until I went here, and now I want it that way every time. Seriously good ramen with excellent staff. I haven't had any of their asian inspired dishes, but excited to return. Don't miss the birria tacos, the mulitas and their housemade horchata!

Upon entering there is a little Asian mini mart in there with rice noodles, sauces and a few staple Asian items. They had a display cold case of their pies. The coconut cream pie looked yummy so I bought one. My order was ready within 15 minutes. I ordered the half Huli huli chicken and beef with an extra scoop of rice . Mac salad and a coleslaw was also included. They also have an assortment of small sauces to go, ranching from one star and up. I picked the crying tiger sauce, teriyaki and chili oil . This is a hefty mixed plate, enough for two or to have as leftovers for me. The beef is my favorite, seasoned and sauced well. I added the sauces to the huli huli chicken and it was superb, the chicken was moist and tender. I love Hawaiian Mac salad, it's the better type of Mac salads. I really enjoyed their Mac salad and the coleslaw. The coleslaw was a nice palette cleanser amongst the heavy but comforting meal. The coconut cream pie was good. I was expecting it to be a a little more sweeter, but the coconut flavor is just right. Not too overpowering . I will be back to try more.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Just get here, it's a place you can't pass up when you hit up Georgetown!

Updated review from 2 Months ago…read more.. I've been back roughly 6 times from my previous review of Kona Kitchen. Then it was too many staff, not many customers and it was difficult to get service, that has been improved upon. They are nice and attentive when they see you. Service was normal, the wait staff came around and offered more beverage. This time it was still slow period, so what gives it only 3 stars instead of more? It's the fact that the main door the employee use to go into the kitchen to give their orders to the cooks had cob webs on the top of the door.i mean everyone of them walk through that door hundreds of times throughout the week because I could tell it's been there for some time. Where's the food inspector, should be a concern because if it's there in full view of customers and employees, what else is happening as far as cleanliness at Kona Kitchen. I will be there within two or three days and wonder if the cobweb will still be a fixture there... it's something that is annoying because nobody's done anything about it. Amazing.

I'm still vividly thinking about it while I write this review. The pork just melts in your mouth and has such a fantastic flavor to it. The salad was refreshing and acidic, which was delightful, and the mac was really good too. The pork belly sisig was also really solid, though I have to say that the kalua pork stole the show. The nice fatty pieces of pork belly mixed with the rice were sweet and delicious, and I also thoroughly enjoyed this dish. This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke!
