Met my friend for lunch and we had an amazing meal. I tried the earthy organic pasta which recommended by our waiter. It had Brussel sprouts and mushrooms with ricotta and white wine. It was incredible. My friend ordered the grass fed burger which was cooked perfectly. I loved the interior. The dark walls gave a feeling of elegance. We've always been pleased with our experiences at Mint in Glens Falls. We decided it would be nice to visit them in Slingerlands. We were surprised at the lack of customers when we arrived at 6 PM on a hot and muggy Tuesday. There were a couple of parties on their covered patio, but only one booth in their dining room was filled, and there was no one at the bar or in the cocktail area. This is a shame, especially with the old style jazz music that was playing and the attractive ambiance. And, I'll say right up front that our meal was enjoyable with top level service. From their list of crafted cocktails my wife decided upon a zero proof Elixir, Scarlet Begonias ($14), crafted with Lyre's London Gin, earl grey and butterfly pea flower simple, and lime. It was quite flavorful and beautifully presented. While they didn't offer any draft beer, my eyes immediately focused in on Left Hand Brewing's Milk Stout Nitro ($9) - I hadn't had one in a long time, and its flavors of brown sugar, vanilla, and coffee were still so amazing. One of the highlights of our meal was the Forager Toast ($18) that we had as an appetizer. The lightly toasted and flavorful bread was topped with herbed ricotta, local roasted mushrooms, and arugula greens with an oil drizzle. This was so tasty. For her entrée, my wife chose the Scallops Marrakesh ($32) with a half-dozen large scallops over tomato, garlic, olives, and chickpeas with Moroccan spices on dressed arugula with grilled lemon. While the scallops lacked a more beautiful browning from searing, the dish was otherwise very good. As a side note, the half portion she took home that evening was even more flavorful the following day after all the flavors had more time to meld together. I ordered the Seafood Thai Curry ($36). The mix of mussels, arctic char, scallops, seasonal vegetables, and a very flavorful yellow curry with jasmine rice off to the side, was truly a hit with me. While the spiciness was not too great, it was definitely noticeable and perfect for my palate. I was too full after eating all my Seafood Curry to consider having dessert, but my wife had saved room by planning to bring a portion of her entrée home. Her choice was the Pistachio Tiramisu ($15). Beautifully presented with its ladyfingers soaked in espresso liqueur, mascarpone cream, pistachio glaze, and whipped cream with an espresso dusting, it tasted as good as it looked. She allowed me a taste. Relaxing with cups of freshly brewed coffee at the end of your meal is always a good idea at either Mint location. My girlfriend and I decided to do an early Valentine's Day dinner and we decided to try out Mint as she is a vegetarian and they had a pretty friendly menu. We made reservations but did not need them (it was a Wednesday) as the restaurant was only partially full. This place has a very warm and friendly decor. Fancy without being pretentious. As a Jazz fan I appreciated the playlist throughout the night. Our server Dennis came over and took our drink orders. I had the Manhatten which was really good - walnut liqueur, bourbon, orange peel and a cherry. My date had the martini which I tasted and was also pretty good. For appetizers we were going to get the fingerling potatoes w/ chickpeas but our server recommended the Korean lettuce wraps (we got them w/ mushrooms). These were pretty good but kind of messy for my liking - you put them together on your own and are provided with romaine lettuce, kimchi, pickled veggies, mushrooms/beef and a "spicy" sauce which I found lacking in much heat (I am a bit of a heat seeker). We also got the "warmed" spiced olives which were definitely a hit for me but not so much my girlfriend. For mains I had the "smoked" brisket en biere w/ cauliflower and gravy. The meat was super tender, well seasoned but I really don't think it was smoked - the texture was that of braised beef, not bbq. That being said, it was quite good along with the riced and roasted cauliflower. My girlfriend had the pasta dish w/ mushrooms. I tried a bite and thought it was OK - she thought it was a bit pricey ($29) for what it was, I agreed. We're not big desert people but Dennis mentioned the tiramisu and we're big fans so we ordered it and it might've been the best bite of the night, really enjoyed it especially the crumbled pistachios. Overall it was a really nice meal, service was attentive and quick and the food was overall pretty tasty. We will definitely be heading back. read more

I always loved farm-to-table idea, but it took me long to find my next adventure place. We finally found a hidden gem-Mint Slingerlands and booked it last minute before we arrived on a rainy Saturday night. Plenty of parking spaces out there. We were greeted and seated right away. The ambience is pretty quiet, good for dating or family gathering vibes. I got the recommended apricot whiskey sour, and it's just simply perfect-not too sweet, fruity but with a slightly bitter end taste. Then we got the Korean BBQ Lettuce Wrap and the Forager Toast. While the wrap is pretty good, we were really mind blown by the toast. The layers of flavors were popping nonstop on our tastebuds. We got scallops marrakesh and smoke spiced brisket. Both are pretty good. Had no room left for dessert so we will come back later to check out this place again. read more

The quality of the food was good to very good, but the pricing causes sticker shock. Three of us had lunch- just one entree and nonalcoholic beverage each- no dessert or appetizers. The waiter, who was good and attentive, kept telling us to wait for the new menus to be printed. The reason for that was largely because the prices had gone up, by as much as 1/3. Adding chicken to a salad now costs an additional $12! The lunch price for 3 of us was $121 with 20% tip. If you go, you should be prepared to spend a fair amount of money! read more

We really love this place. The ambiance, the decor, the music, the service, the fact that the owner stops by your table to see how you're doing. I've been gluten free for almost 20 years and it's so nice that there are so many items on the menu I can eat. The food and drinks are really good and parking is easy. We've heard good things about Mint and decided that it was time to check it out. The first thing that surprised us was just how cold it was inside. Most staff were wearing a sweater or cardigan. I personally think that it's great when a restaurant has an interior temperature that's right for the season and I have a number of wonderful cashmere sweaters that I never get to wear because most restaurants keep the interior at around 75 throughout the year. I just wish that restaurants would have their thermostat setting on the website so that I know how to dress for the occasion. I was also impressed with the diversity of the staff and the fact that any available staff would bring food to the table or refill a water glass which meant minimal wait and excellent service. The food itself was phenomenal. The only complaints that I heard out of our group was that the Chardonnay which should be served between 50 and 55° based on variety seemed warmer and that the bee burger was lukewarm when served. The scallops Marrakesh were excellent with the good balance with the chickpeas and greens for a full meal. The scallops themselves, while on the smaller side, were cooked perfectly and the flavor was excellent. The chickpea dish that they were served on could have been a vegan dish all on its own. The burger was excellent and the sweet and sour notes of the tomato jam dovetailed nicely with the flavors of the beef and cheese. We decided to go for dessert, which at most places tends to be underwhelming, and were presented with four excellent options. We chose the panna cotta and pistachio tiramisu. The size difference between the two was a bit unexpected, since they were both at a similar price point. The pistachio bar on top of the tiramisu was sublime. I could imagine eating that bar all on its own, or coated in a nice chocolate. The panna cotta was nice. The inside of the restaurant was decorated well with gorgeous chandeliers sending rainbows down on the tables and a beautifully painted garden motif on the wall. The chairs and benches were comfortable and the table had a real candle in the center. This is the sort of restaurant where we can confidently bring guests and know that they will not disappoint. read more

This was our second visit to Mint. The first was when they first opened, and that visit was disastrous - our waiter literally forgot us, and by the time we got their attention, everything we wanted to order was sold out. So we decided to wait 6 mo and go again. We went last night, and the food was good, but we won't be back. Started off with a very nice young woman seating us, and telling us she'd bring water. It came after a fairly lengthy wait. Then I found a piece of hard plastic in my appetizer, informed the server, and never heard about it again. No apology, no visit from the chef, etc. It's expensive and you expect classier treatment. Anyway, the food was quite nice, as were the servers, but it was a Saturday night at 7pm and the place was almost empty. Bellini's across the street was packed. Had a lovely lunch date with a friend today. Easily made reservations for their patio online (dogs allowed on the patio). Our waitress, Cagney, was warm and attentive. My friend had the burger and fingerling potatoes and ate it all. I had the chicken divan pasta with added mushrooms. Yum! Full disclosure, we stayed a LONG time! But as the restaurant was not busy they let us just sit and chat to our hearts desire. Will absolutely return. read more

If you haven't stopped in, you must! I have never been to the Glens Falls location so I was super excited to know they are in Slingerlands now as well! They have half off wines during happy hour, but I tried a craft cocktail called strawberry fields forever, some house bread (VG) and patatas bravas (VG). The honey mixed with the whipped ricotta for the house bread was an amazing combo of flavors and the bread is perfectly toasted and buttery. It's a beautiful mildly sweet combo. The brava sauce was to die for on the patatas bravas. Everything here is made from scratch and locally sourced. The owner Jill was there and was so sweet and genuine. Our bartender was Shannon. She's amazing. The ambiance is gorgeous. Beautiful place for a date night or even to catch up with friends. Highly recommend! I look forward to my next visit. read more

Had a wonderful time here on a Friday night with a friend. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. Based on earlier reviews, I think they have found their stride. It was surprisingly not very busy for our 6 PM reservation. We were seated quickly and received excellent service from our server who was attentive without being intrusive. My friend and I shared the Caesar salad, the Korean barbecue lettuce wraps and the chicken schnitzel. Everything was beautifully plated and tasted delicious. The Caesar salad was not served like a traditional Caesar salad (cheese bits and breadcrumbs were grated and sprinkled throughout) although the dressing was homemade and tasty & more than enough for two people. We didn't save room for dessert, but the four items on the dessert menu looked delicious! My half of the meal came to $60 which included tip and a glass of wine. A great value for what we got! We sat in the dining area, which had a lovely ambience with wonderful artwork around the room. All in all, I look forward to returning for the exceptional service and tasty food. read more

The food was very good but not exceptional. Most people will find it excellent and it was. The Savory Board, in my opinion, had too much oil on the bread, keeping you from being able to fully enjoy the toppings. My Chicken Pasta was also good but, in my opinion, had too much chicken. Every bite had chicken. I was really wanting to enjoy the taste of the pasta but the chicken was too much to do so. They also only had two dessert offerings and were already sold out of the main dessert and we had a 6pm reservation. I would go again, and I look forward to trying the other menu items. What a great place! What makes it especially great is its use of high-quality produce from local family-run regenerative organic farms. The meat in my Bolognese (beef and pork sauce) pasta was outstanding. There's also wild-caught fish--trying finding that anywhere else. Finally got a chance to make it to the Albany location after eating several times in Glens Falls. We drove the hour because we love everything about that location and wanted to see how Albany close to home compared. Happy to report drinks are just as delicious as GF! I loved the PEI mussels Josephine, a dish I had not ordered before. The artic char and curry were good, just not as tasty as GF. I would still rate all three as solid dishes and for dessert pot de crème is outstanding. My 4 stars instead of 5 stars are because atmosphere is not a charming as GF, it is a gorgeous restaurant. Husband, friend and I dined at Mint for the first time and it was delightful. The food (cheese board, PEI mussels, filet mignon, chicken pasta and two desserts) were all delicious and beautifully presented. Emily, our server, was very friendly and attentive, but not intrusive. Near the end of our meal the owner, Johanna, stopped and chatted with us, which was lovely of her, considering she is running two restaurants more than an hour apart. Currently, they are only open for dinner and you better make a reservation because it was very busy on a Tuesday night! In several weeks they plan on opening the patio, as well as lunch service. We are looking forward to all of that. It is wonderful to have a top notch farm-to-table restaurant in the Delmar area. The one piece of constructive advice I would offer is that there is not enough light at the high top tables to be able to easily read the menus. The dividing wall blocks the light from the dining room. We all looked rather silly holding our menus above our shoulders to capture some light above the divider. All in all we look forward to dining there again soon. read more

Relaxing modern vibe, great cocktails and wine; fresh appetizers good entree choices. Local farm-to-table fare. That night some of their young staff at a school function-but we did not suffer a lack of attention or anything. The only downside was the gluten free pasta not cooked properly. That is definitely a difficult thing to get right as gf pasta can go from not done enough to mush in like 30 seconds. Other entrees perfect-crab cake is awesome and my husband perfectly satisfied with pasta and bolognese sauce. Definitely will return! read more

Everything is fresh and made from scratch, so happy we have a farm to table in Slingerlands!! The staff goes above and beyond! Service can be a little slow on a busy weekend, but they're a new business so I'm sure once they're staffed for the influx of new business that they are receiving from the Barnes review the service is sure to be faster.
