Ate here on November 1, 2025. This is a classic, low-frills Mexican spot from a local Nashville chain--fast, friendly service and great food. It's not upscale, and it's not Cali-Mex or Tex-Mex. It's the dependable kind of place where "Speedy Gonzalez" is on the lunch menu (you know if you know). We ordered the Speedy Gonzalez for lunch and it was exactly as I remembered from a few years back. Nice decor and traditional Mexican music playing . That is as gas as traditional goes , this is like TexMex . Food is different but still good , I would say little above average . I got chori pollo and a bless your heart taco . The chori pollo was just alright , the chorizo was dry with no grease . It came with Mexican rice and steamed veggies . Now that taco was something else . Had the perfect flavor mix with the pastor and the mango sauce on a purple corn tortilla . Going to go back just for the tacos . I can't give it a 4* but 3* is still low . This is a 3.5* TexMex style place . If you like that style then I would say just go you will not be disappointed. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone when my daughter chose a Mexican restaurant for dinner the night I arrived in Nashville. Tacos? Not Pasta? She told me that Las Palmas is a favorite amongst her friends. She said the restaurant is clean, service is friendly, and the food is great. She was so right! We were greeted as we walked in. Warm chips and salsa came out as soon as we were seated. My daughter ordered her favorite Quesabirria Tacos, while I chose the Chimichangas. Everything was freshly made, flavorful and delicious! The restaurant is a short walk from my daughter's apartment. We returned two more times before my visit ended. I tried the Chicken Tortilla Soup, Quesabirria Tacos, Chile Colorado and Fried Ice Cream. I wasn't too impressed with the dessert, but the appetizers and entrées we tried were satisfying. All our servers were so nice and consistent. Our orders were taken right away, we were checked on often and our drinks refilled without asking. Parking is free and they give a 10% discount for students. I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm in Nashville. read more

The service here is great and quick ! The ambience inside feels like a typical Mexican restaurant which is a comforting vibe when eating Mexican food. Great location nearby Vanderbilt campus so it's popular among students. Nothing bad to say about food or prices. I had a ground beef quesadilla and it was filling, came with a variety of small sides, and delicious. My friend got a steak burrito and loved it. Las Palmas is a solid Mexican spot with well seasoned food. As normal, they bring out chips and salsa. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa had good spice. We had the guacamole dip (not the fresh made) and it needed a little salt but that's just a slight preference for me. We had a Las Palmas mezcalita flight that had prickly pear and passionfruit flavored drinks. DONOT visit any Las Palms location if you have a service dog. Customer service regarding management was consistently extremely rude at both Nashville locations. The embarrassment associated with their rudeness left me standing numb at the hostess stand on each occasion. I made a formal complaint with corporate office and was sent a generic "we're sorry" and then they forwarded a $5 gift certificate. No thanks. How about fix your standing policy of terrible customer service regarding service dogs and the existing multiple interrogation questionnaire that goes far beyond mandated state policy. read more

Not sure why this was voted best Mexican restaurant of 2022, the service was horrible and the food was mediocre. Some coworkers and I went on a Thursday afternoon and waited a ridiculous amount to be served. To top it off, we got the wrong ticket and had to wait for that to get rectified. The location was empty, but I believe they had only 1 waitstaff that I noticed. Our food, which consisted of fajitas with the wrong meat and corn, which was just ok. The " hot " sauce served with chips is absolutely disgusting it's either ketchup or just a big pile of tomato paste one of the worst things I've ever tasted. All of the chips were stale. This used to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants to eat. I remembered why I stopped coming. Upon entrance, Diego starred at me and didn't say a word. So I said "2" . He pulled one menu out and walked away (no indication to follow him ) he went to the table directly behind the host stand; Sat the menu on the table, looked at me and pointed. I went and sat. A few minutes later, someone brought chips and salsa. (The only halfway decent part of the meal) Lucky me, "Mr. Personality" (Diego) is our server. He came back, finally spoke to me to ask what to drink. Through the entire visit, he was unpleasant and gave the vibe if we were bothering him if we had a request. A constant frown on his face. If you like Italian burritos this is the place for you! Nothing about it is Mexican. The little green specs you see in the red sauce, is parsley. Not cilantro. It taste like spaghetti burritos. No exaggeration, TERRIBLE. The red sauce is not a "Mexican" sauce. What made it worse, I ordered a shrimp burrito. (Ever had shrimp with spaghetti sauce? ) Absolutely no seasoning on the hamburger meat in the taco. Extremely bland. Worse Mexican rice I've ever had. Having lived in Guanajuato and Durango for most of a decade, true Mexican food isn't this over-spiced, over-seasoned crap you get in the States. But it does have flavor and a soul. And everything here from the queso fundido to the enchiladas to the salsa to the margaritas are horrifically tasteless. They do not have poblanos, only green bell peppers, so I had them use jalapeños in place of the bell peppers which I don't like. I visited Nashville over the MLK holiday weekend 2024. On Sunday night it started snowing earlier than predicted but we needed dinner. The food scene in Nashville hadn't impressed me at all by that point so I decided to leave my hotel downtown and drive further into the real Nashville to get Mexican food. Mexican food is always reliably good in my opinion. Las Palmas showed up in my search so I ordered online and paid in advance for a quick pickup. In no time, I got a text saying my order was ready for pickup. I was immediately impressed by the speed of service. I was already in route so I get to the restaurant three minutes later. The sign on the building literally says Fast. Fresh. Friendly. I go in and there's a lady behind the host stand and she's typing receipts into a calculator. She doesn't look up or say hello or anything. There's a couple standing there and a different employee is saying something to them, then the employee walks off. They're still standing there and I still haven't been acknowledged or greeted at all. I say to the lady behind the host stand, "Excuse me, Hi. I placed an order online and just want to pick it up." Mind you, I SEE the order on a shelf right in front of me; right behind where she's standing. She can stay planted where she is, not move her feet one inch, reach to her right, grab my food and hand it to me. She doesn't do that. Instead she looks up from her receipts that are much more important than the paying customer who came in out of the snow and is standing in front of her and she very flatly says "I'll be with you in a minute." Then she looks back down and continues with her receipts. The couple standing there looks at me and I say "I already paid; I just wanna grab and go." They don't respond and neither does the hostess. I stand there at least 5 more minutes wishing I had not paid in advance because I'd just walk out and not patronize this business but since I did pay, I wait. During this time, three separate male employees came from different areas of the restaurant, greeted me, and asked if I needed help. I appreciated them at least saying hello and asking what I needed. Once each of them learned I had a to-go order, they said "Oh, she has to help you." So I'm still standing there. After more than 5 minutes, the lady asks "What did you order?" Such an odd question. Most people ask for the name on the order, not for you to list your menu items. So I say "The last name on the order is (name)." She says my first name and I say "yes". She hands me the food and doesn't say anything. A male employee nearby thanks me for coming in. I thank him back and leave. I was SO disappointed with this experience. When I walked in, that lady could have looked up from what she was doing and simply said "Hi. I'll be right with you." I would've stood there with no problem and waited for her to get to me. But to not acknowledge the presence of another human being who is patronizing your business is just poor customer service. It was my first time in the city and this is what I was met with. So the sign on the advertisement is a lie. Fast, yes. Fresh, yes. The food was fine. Friendly...absolutely not. VANESSA needs training so she learns how to say "Hello" when a person walks in the door and is standing in front of her. I do plan to come back to Nashville but I would not return to this restaurant even if the food was free. read more

I haven't been to this location since the much needed renovations and remodel so I must say, I like it. My girlfriend and I ate dinner here on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately and greeted by our server, who brought out complimentary salsa and warm chips. I ordered my favorite a small Mango Margarita and Bean Burrito Especial without cheese or Sour Cream. ****PSA******Their margaritas are that good that the alcohol will sneak up on you so drink responsibly.
