Great! Drove by seeing parking lot was busy. Curiosity brought me in to see a simple restaurant full of Latino with Spanish wall menus. That's what I like. I understand a little Spanish still better used google translate to find out what they offer. Simple menu like home style food. Steak, stewed Beef & chicken with rice & bean. The price was reasonable. No fancy decoration but clean. I had my steak & rice. They had lots of take out orders as well. Another day, I went for their sopa on weekend and Sunday too. I'm from a place where some of the best places are what people would call a hole in the wall. Maybe that is the case everywhere because Las Pupusas was pretty good! As soon as I drove by I made a quick u-turn and had to stop in. Since I wasn't planning to eat I just got a few pupusas and they were larger than expected and tasted good. My first experience was so good I would eat here everyday. Came here for the pupusas as it's literally the name. They make them to order which is a huge plus and they were absolutely amazing. If I lived here locally I really would eat here at least once a week if not more. Good authentic el salvadorian food. I'd guess the majority of the people are from El Salvador when I visited, so you know it's not watered down. Come for the food and work on your Spanish. So in my mind im part latina And its my mission to eat all the types of spanish/latin/mexican cuisine. Dont judge me. So i had my first taste of El Salvadorian food! So freaking good! I had the Cheese Pupusas with rice and beans! AMAZING! But the best part to me was the slaw and red sauce! Its really made the meal. I wish they were open today b/c i would go for lunch. Las Pupusas has decent pupusas and I wouldn't recommend the horchata. But the cabbage salad that comes with the pupusas was great! I loved how each one was made to order. I only tried the pork version so that may have been my downfall. It only lacked some flavor. The All cheese Or frijoles pupusas would've been better. I ordered 3 which was more than enough, I had one left over. Best to heat them in the oven or a toaster oven. There was a beef stew that I felt I should've tried because the entire restaurant was eating that lunch special. The location is very easy to access. First time ever having a Pupusa and it was amazing. They also have tamales de frijoles...yay for no meat! The sauces that came with it were fantastic. Great flavor and great heat! They had a hot bar and the stewed beef chunks were huge; huge vegetables mixed with them. It made me wish I still ate meat so I that I could try it. It's a small diner setting which I'm okay with. Driving by there's nothing that would entice you to stop at thus restaurant and after eating there today I understand why. It's a very basic restaurant with no decor at all. You place your order at the cashier and they bring your food out. We ordered a couple of Pork Pupusas and we were not impressed at all! Very stingy with the pork, barely noticeable that we were eating any meat at all. The horchata was HORRIBLE! Delicious and hot pupusas. Had the cheese and pork filled. Pork filled was a bit light but still good, the cheese filled smelled and tasted amazing.
