Nice spot for a quick bite. Came on Tuesday around 4pm, it's one of the few places open in Camp North End on Tuesdays but I wanted a taco so it worked out perfectly. I got the Al pastor and a blood orange pomegranate seltzer. Perfect taco Tuesday celebration! Quick, friendly seevice. The taco was steaming hot, with a generous portion of meat and plenty of onion and cilantro. I squeezed some lime juice and added the green sauce plus some Valentina salsa picante. It hit the spot. Authentic tasting tacos found here at Camp North End. The food is a bit pricey, but you are getting some high quality food here. I wanted something small, and I got two al pastor tacos. We came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2:15pm and it was excellent. I love how they had food items separated by country. We had tacos from Mexico, pupusas from El Salvador, arepas from Venezuela, and empanadas from Argentina. The service was pretty quick. It wasn't too busy at Camp North End, so there was plenty of open seating. The Al pastor taco very tasty. I enjoyed that way more than the asada taco. The revueltas pupusa was so good! It was my first time trying pupusas and I have a new favorite. I didn't realized they were stuffed with meat. The rumberas arepa was so good. It's a lot of meat within it so it will definitely fill you up. Lastly we did try the empanadas and they were very thick. Whenever I'm in Charlotte, I visit Camp Northend. I was hoping to get some vegan food, but being that it was a Tuesday, my place of choice was not open. So I went with La Caseta and it didn't disappoint. The menu is limited, which is understandable for a location like this. They need to be fast pace and knowing what they are providing makes it easier on them. However, I do wish they had a little more to offer. Or at least maybe a specialty item once or twice a week. The food is delicious. This is my second time eating here. I went with the Argentinian empanadas and the Venezuelan arepas. The empanadas are stuffed and very meaty. I'm always impressed with the amount of steak and veggies that they provided. Handheld, but I wouldn't advise eating it while you drive. You may make a mess. I was searching for a lunch option and I have been loathe to try any Mexican food especially tacos after moving from San Diego, where I lived closer to Tijuana than work. But my husband had a tiny box of food from another vendor, and I was starving. So I tried a carne asada taco here (and an arepa Reina Pepiada) Corn tortilla was a bit thicker than I'm used to but it was tasty and I dug the sauces they included (one hot red, one cold green). I also appreciate that they were generous with my cilantro and cebolla. The arepa was pretty good too- certainly a more filling option for the $. I devoured both- and gave the last two bites of my arepa with my partner who was staring enviously at my meal (and spent more on his to boot). My gosh, this little food stall in Camp North End is fantastic! In a time where no one is traveling to any far off destinations, La Caseta manages to transport you to Central and South America... Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the reyna pipian arepa and al pastor taco. The arepa shell was perfectly soft and crunchy all at the same time. Their homemade tortillas for the tacos are to die for! We visited on a gorgeous day, weather wise, and enjoyed sitting and feasting at the communal picnic tables nearby. This place was soooo delicious! I ordered the Pupusas Revueltas, which are a Salvadoran dish of handmade thick corn tortillas stuffed with ground pork, cheese, and refried beans. I am super picky about my Pupusas having eaten them all of my life but these were delicious. They were thick, juicy, and perfectly cheesy. It took us a long time to finally check out the food stalls at Camp North End, but we finally made it. Since I wanted to try all of the food stalls, I just sampled a bit from each. We tried the Revueltas pupusa and the Al Pastor taco. We loved both. The flavors were great. I think I would probably get the toppings for the pupusa on the side because they made the pupusa soggy almost immediately. I think this stall is even better than Sabor (it has the same owners). My first time trying Venezuelan Arepas, I loved the simplicity of the shredded pork and cheese stuffed into the thick, fresh-made Arepa. Love this little food stall in camp north end! They have a small menu but everything I tried was amazing. The prices were great too! All of the food was fresh and flavorful. You can just walk up and order your food and it is ready to pick up in minutes. I ordered the al pastor taco and the asada taco. They were both very flavorful and delicious. I loved the salsas that they came with as well. I also tried the pupusas, which were really good! My sister is vegetarian and the only thing on the menu that she could have was the frijole pupusa, which has beans in it instead of pork. She enjoyed it but wished she had more options. I'd been dying to check out Camp North End for a while so we came on a day I took off work. On a Monday. When basically every other business at CNE is closed. Not La Caseta! The Good: the food was super tasty and I particularly loved the taco. We got one Al Pastor to share and I wish I had also gotten a Carne Asada. As a Latina who grew up eating authentic, homemade tacos from Mexican relatives, these were great. The tacos are served "street style" which basically means, corn tortilla, meat, diced white onion, cilantro, and a lime wedge. This one came with a tasty salsa on top that wasn't spicy at all. Very nice flavor and the tortillas tasted just like the ones we would hand make in Mexico when I was little. The guy behind the counter was really nice and helpful in making other suggestions and we really loved the Pupusa de Frijoles and the Empanada as well! This was my partner's first time having real Latin food and he loved everything! The Meh: the tacos are the most expensive street tacos I've seen coming in around $4.50/1 taco Al Pastor. I believe the Asada one is a bit more. While they're tasty, I do feel it's slightly overpriced because street tacos aren't big (I can usually eat 3...4 if I have no self-respect that day). I used to bitch about the price of the Bakersfield tacos (at their location in Ohio) and these are a bit more than Bakersfield. Ingredients are quality but still feel it's a skosh steep. Also, the Pupusa was so good but seemed a bit flat with not as much filling as I'm used to. It's so good, I wanted more! The Bad: I'm a salsa FIEND and I didn't see a selection of salsas to get. I loved the green that came on the taco and the red with the empanada but an option to purchase extra of different types would be nice because I mix and match my salsas usually and I looooove a SPICY one. No doubt the food here is tasty and service very friendly. I love that they have 1-2 offerings from different countries in Latin America (Mexico, Argentina, El Salvador, and Venezuela). In all of North Carolina, this is the only place where I have seen them do tacos Al Pastor the way they are suppose to be done, on a stand up Rotisserie with layers of onions & pineapples. They keep it simple here with a roughly 10 item menu. Tacos are made fresh. Two are sufficient to cure hunger. They take about 5-7 minutes to prepare food. When you order dine in, they put the sauce on your taco, so be careful if you don't like sauce. The taco shells are soft and tasty. Meat is extremely flavorful. [Grade: A-] Roaming around Charlotte, there's been a lot of new places on the come up in terms of where to come hangout, shop a little, and find great sceneries for photoshoots. One of the things that stood out to me while walking around Camp Northend on our way to La Caseta was the heated spaces, as it was super cold out but wow do these things work. We were recommended to this spot for their delicious arepas and authentic flavours, and for the most part I think they nailed it. For the food, we tried out their arepas, pupusas, and tacos. They were incredibly juicy and flavourful and the hot sauce they provide gives them an amazing kick that helped round out the flavours. I definitely recommend the arepa rumbera and the asada tacos! The arepas were so good we had to go back and an extra one! I guess my one, not really big issue, was the things were a bit expensive thinkin bout the portion size but it is what it is and I'd say it's still pretty worth at least to try out. Overall, I really could taste the authenticity of the food! Camp Northend is lucky to have this place bring a piece of the latin culture and community and share their splendid take on latin cuisine! There is always something going on at camp north end. I recently strolled through on a sunny weekend and popped by to try a few of the new stalls that weren't there the last time I visited. I ordered the pupusa de frijoles(corn tortillas stuffed with cheese and beans) and the warm tomato sauce served with it was really good.
