This is an all around great spot. It is 3 businesses incorporated into one. It's a Salvadorean Restaurant, Bakery and small shopping area full of Salvadorean products. The restaurant has both takeout and dine in options. There is plenty of seating both in the front and rear of the restaurant. They have all your typical Salvadorean staples like the famous Pupusas as well as yuca con chicharrón. The typical breakfast dishes are also great. You can't go wrong with any of their dishes. However I suggest you dine in and have some fresh made pupusas revueltas. They are basically tortillas stuffed with Mozzarella cheese and grounded pork. You can also get them with just cheese or just pork. For a cold drink try the Horchata, it's made from a grounded down seed. For a hot drink try the Atol de Elote, made from corn.....deliciously smooth and velvety. The bakery has typical cookies and sweet breads, they are all on display for you to pick and choose. The store has candies, chips, medicine, arts and crafts & shirts all imported from El Salvador. If your missing home this place will take you back. If you want the Salvadorean experience than you have come to the right place! The staff is friendly and efficient, place is casual and laid back. Located in a shopping center on WT Harris, gas station close by is a little sketchy at night but never had a problem when I go there. Inside you'll find a bunch of Salvadoran baked goods, snacks and even some soccer jerseys. There are 2 entrances to the location, one mainly for dining in and the other to pick up orders. I've tried their pupusas and they are amazing. I've tried a few places in Charlotte and this is the one that has kept my business. Their pupusas revueltas are made with Chicharon, cheese and beans, most places I've been to don't add beans but that adds something to it. They mostly speak Spanish but I think anyone can go and get what they want. A must try. read more

The Aesthetic: No-frills Salvadoran family-style restaurant with a bakery inside and goods for sale. Terrible smelling bathrooms. The service has bad reviews, but they treated us kindly. My 2 stars are going to the workers only, everything else was bad. The Price: It was affordable, the chicken tamale I tried was less than $2 and most menu items were similarly priced, but you get what you pay for. The Parking: It's a small plaza so I can imagine that parking can get tight at busy hours. We went during lunch and there was plentiful parking. Stumbled across this place while in the area just for a quick bite to eat. I figured I'd give it a try and maybe even get some bakery goods afterwards. The waitress kindly met me at the door, she barely spoke any English but that's ok. I spoke *un poquito espanol*. I ordered pupusas stuffed with pork and cheese, beef tacos and tamales elote w/ crema. When I tell you this food was AMAZING... the tamales were my favorite part! My boyfriend loved his tacos. ‼FIRE THE RED FRIED HAIR SERVER‼ A few months back I went here for a family dinner, we saw our server, noticed he was very young, bright fried red hair and big black squarey glasses. He quickly stood out as a amateur. He was overall very awkward, he pushed my child out of his high chair and he didn't even bother apologizing or helping out. Well this restaurant has one of the best baleadas and pupusas in Charlotte. The food is really great and I have dined here many times before. Another great point is that the prices are reasonable and won't hurt your wallet. An advantage and complement to this restaurant is that they have a bakery as well which is also good. I didn't dine in this time but usually the service is mediocre. Nevertheless try this place out and order a pupusa revuelta which is a corn cake stuffed with meat and cheese. Made my BF pick us up dinner since its on his way home. Staff speaks limited English, but they tried their best to accommodate him. I'm not exactly sure what pupusas are suppose to taste like, but I like them from here. Served with the pickled cabbage to put on top and I added diced onions on top. Yum. I have eaten a lot of pupusas in the past few years. I wasn't very impressed by these. The service wasn't the best either, but it wasn't the worst I've experienced. My complaint was mainly that the pupusas were incredibly thick. I am used to thinner ones and I definitely think I prefer them prepared smaller and thinner. My other issue was that we ordered simple, quick food items, pupusas, a tamal de elote, and a side of maduros, and the pupusas took about a half hour to come out and the other food took another half hour. We had some place to be and half of our meal came out way after we had finished the pupusas so we just got them to go and didn't really even get to eat them. I do realize that in latin culture, the service isn't generally as prompt as we are used to in the U.S., especially because I'm from the northeast, where we are very accustomed to prompt service. I was taking this into account, however I do think such simple items should not have taken an hour to come out. The one plus I would say about this restaurant is the prices. It was a very affordable place to eat. I don't think I would come back in the future because of this issue and I just wasn't a fan of the preparation of the food, but the flavor was fine. read more

Ok, wow. So I'm writing this during the COVID disaster that's going on and it's based on my take out order that was placed over the phone. Previous to this I had only tried their baleadas and pupusas and they are very good. They are the best restaurant baleadas and pupusas (nothing compares to home made). This time I went after church around 5 pm and got a to go order. I was craving a little bit of everything so I ordered combo #2. Shrimp, chicken and carne asada. Came with rice, vegetables and a side salad. It was delicious!! I didn't finish it all because it's such a big meal. But I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite I had. I squeezed fresh lemon juice over the shrimp and some hot sauce which made it even better. Even the vegetables where good, fresh not frozen reheated vegetables. Wish I could've taken a picture but I was so hungry I dug in right away. You can also order one of those flour tortillas that are used for the baleadas, my mom and I do that all the time cause they are just so good. Can't wait to come back. read more

I came here for some pupusas. Our waiter was super nice. Reasonable menu and prices. It all started going down hill when my little cousin ordered a pastry from the bakery and it was all stale. Possibly 3days old. We demanded they be thrown out and not to charge us for it. Thats just the beginning. Then we ordered 4 atoles de lotes to go and two of them fell because the cup holders broke. They were refusing to replace them for us after we paid but thats alright the point is they didn't have to treat us the way they did. My favorite restaurant in Charlotte! Best Hispanic food. It's different than Mexican and Colombian. Everyone is very nice and looks happy to be at work. Most of the servers only speak Spanish.
