Wow, this small shop on Plum Street serves surprisingly delicious pizza! I got a large pizza, plain cheese, which was only $15. While I did get takeout, the men working in the shop assisted me in getting the pie into my car. Get customer service and they were ready in just 30 minutes. The pizza itself is truly excellent. Firstly, that crust is amazing. It's like a very high quality bread. Nice and soft, but has some crispness to it as well. It is a little thick at the edges but not overly thick at the lower regions of the pie. Cheese is quite quality as well, not overly salty and used in an adequate amount. I think the sauce to cheese ratio is spot on, it is not too oily, but the sauce is a little on the sweet side. Still very good, though. All in all, I'd highly recommend this place. Maybe check out some of the specialty pies like spinach/artichoke, pierogi, white pizza, or even their signature Chicago-style pies. Even the plain cheese is amazing, though! read more

I was a bit skeptical since this used to be the store front for Casey's, which was horrible. My skepticism subsided when they brought out my pepperoni slice and fries. The pizza is pretty professionally done, very nice. The fries are a huge amount that needed a bit of time for eating. The fries were very well cooked and tasted excellent. So far, they seem good. It looks like a dine-in restaurant but don't be fooled. I was so confused eating here tonight. Service was HORRIBLE as I waited 40 minutes for a menu pizza to come to the table. It seems like they don't rush food orders for dine-in patrons. They put you in the queue with all the phone orders ‍ Didn't want to stay in this place any longer once the pizza came. Took it home. First and foremost, this was the most pleasant, most accommodating pizza shop I've ever been in. Seriously everyone seemed like they loved working there and the owner was passionate about pizza. I placed a large order of wings, fries pickles, Chicago style, and white pizza, oh and a salad also. Wings were excellent, they were large and a normal price point for wings (I hate when places charge a dollar a wing). I could have definitely done without the fries pickles. Now to the pizza: the standard white pizza was very tasty and I enjoyed that it wasn't too plain. The Chicago style: I went in without too high of hopes because I've had a lot of deep dish and Chicago pizza. Let me start by saying that if you know Chicago pizza this is more of a Pequods style than a Giordano's or Lou's style. The owner joked while I was in there that someone said it was better then Giordanos and I enjoyed the excitement. This pizza, like Pequods, has much more dough than a true deep dish. (PS I do absolutely love Pequods it's just different than deep dish) they call it "Chicago style" here so they aren't wrong on that it's just not a deep dish. It's a cross between your Detroit Style and your traditional Chicago style. To the owners: I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza and you're on the right track, if you want it to be more like a Giordanos, you need less dough on the bottom (sides were perfect) and WAY MORE CHEESE. Just got home 1 hour ago 9-9-2023. ordered two and 1/2 cheese steak hoagies....had them many times, they were good..... literally NO MEAT (maybe 3 table spoons per half hoagie) 4/5th of it was bun..... called at 6pm, to mention this and was hung up on! Chicago Deep Dish? Close, but no cigar. Being from Chicago I long for Lou Malnati's, Geno's East style deep dish. You can get mail order delivery from Lou's which is really nice, but a little pricey and requires planning. I wanted a pizza now! So the pluses, the sauce is good and the cheese is the right amount. The minuses, the dough on the bottom is too thick and the crust is large and chewy. The crust should be thinner and crispy. The toppings are microscopic so hard to comment on them. I think they were there. But they are on the right track, guys a couple tweaks and you've got it. Do a mail order Lou Malnoti's and you'll see what I mean. read more

I had heard about this Pizza shop from several people and was excited to try it. The fried sampler platter was so over fried it was almost burnt (very dark brown bordering black in color) and dry. The Chicago style pizza was soup in a bread bowl with burnt bottom! I actually lived in Chicago for a few years and this was terrible pizza! The majority of this pie was thrown away. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH EVER!!!! We weren't born in Pittsburgh...we're from the Northwest where customer service is high quality. I love Pittsburgh for how genuine people are. But I get a little tired of the 'hey you called us for something so I can treat you mean and you'll still pay me for my product.' Not so with Leone's. While the appearances aren't much, this was an amazing pizza. The crust was crispy and had a great flavor. Sauce was light but very tasty...and there were a ton of toppings on every pizza.
