Tbh: Your typical pizza chain aka Dominos, Papa John's, etc is ten times better than this place. The customer service is even more horrendous than their pizza. I recently got a great deal here on Just Pay Half, paying $12.50 for a $25 value. So on a rainy day last weekend that called for comfort food, we ordered a plain Sicilian pizza, on the strength of Yelp reviews saying it was excellent, and also chose the garlic knots based on Yelp feedback. Nobby's is located on Vanadium Road next to a small office complex where I've previously gone for a yoga class, right near the intersection with Bower Hill. I was aware that there is a corresponding bakery as their products are sold through Market Wagon, a delivery service I sometimes use, and always seem to sell out fast. When we arrived to pick up the food, I was excited to see a wall with the baked goods near the register and chose half a dozen chocolate chip cookies. If these are there when you go, don't miss them. Trust me on this. They were also making donuts that looked absolutely heavenly so I got two of those to take home. Unfortunately, I didn't love the donuts as much. They were a bit dry and dense for my taste. Those cookies, though! I will try other baked goods in the future for sure. The Sicilian pizza was indeed delicious, with the sauce-to-cheese ratio you would expect for this type of pie and a perfect crust. Would order this again, though I will probably order a thin crust next time just to give that a try. But I'm really here to talk about the garlic knots. They come swimming in a pool of buttery, minced garlic deliciousness. The knots themselves are bready but somehow light. We sopped up all of that garlic and butter but left the additional container of garlic butter they included on the side. I could not really understand the need for that, though it will probably make a very nice addition to something I make at home in the next couple of days so I kept it on hand. Nobby's was ok, but I don't understand the hype. We ordered a pepperoni pizza this weekend and while it was fine, it was just that... fine. The pizza was ready on time (about 45 minute wait) and was a decent size. It was also reasonably priced at about $16 for a one topping 8-slice. But, I wasn't really impressed by any of it - from the sweet-ish sauce to the thick layer of congealed cheese, to the pools of grease. With so many other pizza places around I am not sure if I'll order from here again soon, but I also wouldn't dissuade anyone if they suggested getting Nobby's for dinner. Overall, it was a very ordinary tasting pizza experience, with a visually appealing product. read more

We enjoy Nobby's pizza and wings. The wings are well cooked and crunchy. We have tried a few different sauces and like the hot and the rub the best. The pizza is a thinner crust and usually a little crunchy. The sauce is a little on the sweet side and very tasty. The cheese is good and a little greasy but just right. We have tried some different styles and enjoy the pepperoni and the roasted red peppers but if you like buffalo chicken pizza, Nobby's is really good. read more

First let me say that even though I had a bad experience, with a little more work/training on the establishments part I believe they can offer a great product, because even though it was a burnt pie, it wasn't the worst pizza I have ever had. That's a pad thai pizza I had at union pie on Brownsville. I digress. When I called I explained that it was our first time, and I had briefly looked on line and say they had some specialty pies but explained I was interested in the basics, and ordering for my wife and young children. It seemed that this annoyed the service clerk answering the phone, idk why, maybe extremely busy, maybe bad day, all I know is it affected how she communicated to me (was not a person names garret as.my check implies) as well as how she took our order. We ordered a half plain half bacon, it came half pep half bacon. We ordered garlic sauce on the side, and we're sold a box of garlic knots in addition to out breadsticks. These mistakes could have been missed with a more customer service based approach on the phone, in addition to simply taking the 5 seconds to review the order, again I reiterate the service clerk was quite frantic in speech, clearly wanted to get me off the phone to go make food or take another order etc. Im used to bad service at Doughboys in the rocks or like that eff you mentality, like if you want my pizza you'll put up with my attitude from my experience in new york, I guess I just didn't expect it from a place on yelps top ten pizza in south hills ya know what I mean? So that was all reasonable considering covid, I'm sure the business is having a hard time, but thats the owners choice to stay open and take my money, and I hope the girl making the food was fairly compensated because it was clear she didn't have the tools she needed to do her job well that day. I will now share my thoughts on the pizzas...I made a mistake ordering their white pizza and adjusting it for my kids, I'm sure their white with feta and spinach is good if they don't burn it, but I ordered plain white with just white sauce and cheese, and it was incredibly bland, it almost tasted like they use a salt less cheese, never had a pizza taste like this before, but it wasn't bad...just bland however, it was the only pizza my kids could eat as our pizza with bacon and pepperoni was burnt. When I say burnt I don't mean my size year old being like "ewww daddy why's the pizza so dark on the bottom" I mean I put it in my mouth and could taste char....the bottom was poor in texture and over crisp.....now mind you I said I like crispy pizza, and I personally believe pizza is undercooked if you can lift it up from a side and the crust doesn't crack....but this was burnt. I still ate it 4 pieces from the not as burnt side, but for the most part out meal was dramatically underwhelming and we will be looking for some more.new places....outside of yelps skewed opinion. read more

Second time having Nobby pizza. It's really good. They're a bit of out of the way for me but when I saw I could order online I was in! I quickly saw they use the Toast app so I downloaded that and got set up. Ordering in the app is super simple, and it provides feedback about the status. When I got to the store, everything was organized and the people were friendly and knew what they were doing. It looks like they've got a good computer system as well. Their parking lot gets full fast. I found that I couldn't turn around and had to back out onto Vanadium. Next time I will have to be a bit more strategic how I park so that I can pull out forward onto Vanadium. Great pizza and great service! read more

My son and I went after the lunch rush. We split a buffalo chicken hoagie. We sat in the few seats they have to eat-in. The hoagie was perfect amount for splitting between the two of us. The hoagie was crunchy. We got the fried chicken and it was tossed in buffalo sauce. Then ranch dressing was added. It was the perfect blend of heat with ranch. I ordered from Nobby's Pizzeria for the first time earlier this month. I admit, they had never come up in conversations with others in my area when discussing our go-to pizzerias. But one day while looking for a place to order some lunch, they popped up as the place that would deliver the fastest. That seemed like a good enough reason to check them out to me! Funny enough, these days when I order from pizza shops, I tend to skip getting a proper pizza pie. Instead, I go for cheesy breadsticks and a fried zucchini appetizer. It's not unusual for me to order some sort of salad as well. So in the end, my lunch order included a grilled chicken salad, zucchini planks, and cheesy breadsticks. The chicken salad was exactly what you'd expect from a pizza place in Pittsburgh - not fancy but still tasty and complete with a portion of fries on top. I really enjoyed the breadsticks! It's hard to go wrong when the flavor profiles of cheese and bread join forces; and the side sauce was slightly sweet but not TOO sweet. That zesty sauce also went well with the zucchini, which I found to be quite tasty. Sometimes fried zucchini is overdone, but these planks were coated with a thin layer (rather than an overly thick layer) of breading and were clearly recently made. "Fresh" feels like a weird term to use when discussing fried foods, but I think it fits in this case. One downside: my breadsticks and zucchini each came with a single palm-sized container of that delicious sauce. It worked out for me since there was leftover sauce from the zucchini planks, but if I hadn't ordered that second appetizer, there sadly wouldn't have been enough to go around when I polished off my leftover breadsticks the next day. Put simply: more sauce, please! We the people love our sauce! Nitpick aside, everything was delicious and it was delivered on time, too. I was very happy with my meal overall and would definitely keep Nobby's in mind the next time a craving for pizzeria food hits. read more

Be prepared, this is not a pizza review but a review of the bakery that resides there.... Apparently Nobby's sublets to a girl Megan who is a baker. I follow her on Facebook & I've always wanted to stop by. This morning we decided to go for some square donuts & picked up an everything bagel too. My husband made a bagel sandwich at home for breakfast, he says the bagel was fresh & tasty. The square donuts indeed were also fresh. The Boston creme has amazing creamy filling that is perfect & not too sweet. The glazed donut was devoured by my son who gave it a thumbs up. There is also homemade breads for sale, cinnamon rolls & crackers. The only donut place around here is Dunkin& I refuse to go there as their donuts are frozen & then cooked. Wanted to try a new pizza place and Nobbys was the lucky winner! Everything here is fresh, fresh, fresh. They were incredibly busy for take out so make sure to call in advance. We went with pizza, wings and garlic knots. The pizza was very good but a bit undercooked. They were so busy though so maybe a one off incident. The dry rub wings had a good spice and were super crunchy. Just like I like them! Plus, home made ranch. Woo! The garlic knots deserve their own paragraph. Quite possibly the best garlic knots I ever had. So soft and gooey. Covered in fresh, real garlic. They melted in your mouth. They came with a garlic butter that was very good but I would have liked to try with marinara which they did forget. Oh well! We will definitely be back. Nobby's is good dependable pizza. I like it and I like pizza. It's especially good if you order directly from them by calling or going on their website for takeout or delivery. Whatever you do, don't order online through Yelp/GrubHub. I ordered through Yelp/GrubHub and after waiting over 1 1/2 hours, they sent me a notice telling me my pizza was delivered. I thought it was picked up and mis-delivered. Nope! No one from Yelp/GrubHub even could be bothered to pick it up and deliver it. I found that out from Nobby's. Yelp/GrubHub lied to me. I re-ordered directly from Nobby's and picked it up and found this out the hard way. I will never order from Yelp/GrubHub again and if I were you I would sell any stock you hold in that company because they just don't care. read more

Oh. My. God. Well this place may have the word pizzeria in their title, their chicken wings are some of the absolute best I have ever had! I wish I had thought to take some pictures before I reviewed it, but we tore apart these wings and pizza in such a fashion that there was nothing left but some aluminum pans. Quick review on the pizza, we ordered Sicilian style that came with about 20 pieces. Crunchy, soft, cheese, and oily all at the same time. Delicious! On the the star of the meal, the wings! We ordered Parmesan Garlic and Buffalo. Perfectly cooked to a crispy level with just the right amount of spice. Absolutely fantastic! There was a bit of a hitch on the delivery and it took a little longer than we wanted, but what we got was so good that I am willing to forget that! Hit these guys up! Yummm! We popped in looking for a nice local spot as we passed through Pittsburgh. Nobbys is a gem! Superb thin crust - high quality toppings and perfectly crispy/chewy crust. The shredded Italian sausage was a fun surprise and incredibly delicious! We added on garlic knots - they were powerfully garlicky and fantastic hot from the oven. Definitely worth adding to your pizza rotation. Saw a pic on Pittsburghpizza IG account of the Sicilian and figured it would be a good try. My kids got standard cheese pizza (it was good but nothing exceptional. Think any good local nonchain). The Sicilian was as good as the IG picture looked. Sauce is slightly on the sweet side but not too sweet (for reference I find Fioris way too sweet). Would highly recommend, at the very least to try the Sicilian. read more

Surprisingly, this place has decent food. I did a delivery through yelp which took the time that was estimated. The good thing is that they have great hoagies. The bread is crunchy and fresh! They even cut your sandwich in half which was huge! I was a bit disappointed that they got my order wrong though. I had order a super steak pixburgh hoagie but just received the regular one which was still good but not what I paid for. When I called nobbys to tell them that I had the wrong order, the guy insisted that that was what came through the system. I told him that it was not what I ordered and with an attitude he said "what do you want me to do?". I said fix your system or contact grubhub to make sure that It doesn't happen in the future and he hesitantly said that he will tell his manager. This is one of our regular go-to's for pizza, wings and subs. The food is consistent, solid quality and our order is prepared correctly and on time at least 90% of the time or more. LOVE the cinnamon dessert breadsticks. Such a craveable sweet treat. Why all pizza shops don't offer this is a mystery to me. They are incredible.
