We reported the burn the moment it happened and then reached out right away and received no response. The laser falling on me during the treatment is fact and immediately the practitioner apologized but a burn is a burn and the equipment should have been checked and not defective. It is serious and I feel what if this happened while on my face! The management is removed from the day to day and was not reachable and will not have minimal courtesy to refund our package as I do not want to work with this clinic again as trust and how they handle negligence is inportant. read more

New You Laser was a little hard to find. It was located in the apartment complex where you need to ring the doorbell. I think the experience was positive and the staff is kind. I was told I could not do the procedure with anti-histamines taken two weeks prior. However at other laser hair removal businesses I was able to do the procedure regardless of taking antihistamines two weeks prior. Nonetheless thank you for watching out for the clients Even though it was a little inconvenient and I was forced to make a new appointment and come back a later date. The rooms are OK, not as clean and nice as I thought they would be or look like from the picture. However for the price I couldn't complain. It is one of the cheapest places to get laser hair removal in New York City even without a Groupon or discount. Definitely, a you get what you pay for experience. You're paying for the service not the aesthetic of the room you're receiving the procedure in! I left a previous review on google trying to be nice and not reveling everything but after seeing the lying owner response whose name is Linda she mostly absentee but does session to cover for worker and even did one of the sessions) I post a real review. This place is one of the worst run and lying business you can ever imagine. The owner stated that I was satisfied when from begging I told them their were missing spots like back of arms, back and etc and I wasn't getting results ( I'm not unique their plenty of reviews like that). Which anger them and I actually got burned by one of the technicians and I post the photos. Linda took 6 weeks to call me after this happened which should tell you all you need to know about this business and I post messages. She also said I had minimal regrow which was not the case for here the regrow was so bad it like no session even happened mostly due to them being so rushed and they miss spots which i mentioned to them but maybe after burning me they had setting on low or something else either way this is one of the worst places you can go to and it management is the real reason for it and I wish I didn't waste my time and money at this place but I learned my lesson. I have the best wax technician ever, but I was spending too much $$ and time to keep my underarms hairless. Strangely enough my growth was increasing with every waxing and I had to try something new. She explained the procedure, after treatment and possible SOOO delighted I did, after first treatment I have minimal growth and will be back for my second treatment after almost eight weeks. If you want a customer to keep coming for services like laser hair removal it's courtesy especially if they've kept all other appointments. No one goes to sleep knowing they'll wake up sick. They offer amazing package deals (excellent price) and it is so worth it to be able to say goodbye to razors and shaving cream. You get a few minutes back in your life to do other things and it makes packing for vacation such a breeze since you don't need to pack those extra toiletries. I did a lower leg session a few years ago and since then, there have been maybe 2 stray hairs that came back, which isn't bad at all. They use Candela lasers and there was very minimal pain (this was for legs, may be more painful in other areas) as the puff of air kind of distracts you from it. Service is excellent and I never had to wait more than 10 minutes for my appointment. I do recommend scheduling your appointments way ahead of time (it can be hard if you are requesting a specific technician) and putting reminders on your phone in case you need to cancel so that you don't get charged for missing a session. The place is pretty small and is kind of no frills, but they get the job done. They also offer snacks/drinks in the waiting area. read more

Well I had a really bad experience at this place. I purchased approximately 12 sessions of full body laser hair removal procedure. My technician was Oksana, but then she stopped working there. So I was so upset since she was so professional and nice. Then there were a new specialist Monika (Spanish lady), which was completely unprofessional, rude and didn't even speak & understand English. I had burns on my legs and I left the place crying. It was my first horrible experience that my whole leg was hurting so bad. I literally asked her to stop the service at the middle of the session, so I waisted my time & money. But then the front desk lady Ashley, was nice and suggested another specialist. Her name was Rami and she did a really good job so i asked them to NOT change the specialist for my sessions so I was scheduling my sessions a month prior. Long story short, Rami also left this place and they had only 2-3 specialists that were completely rude, btw Anna (Russian lady) always missed some spots and she always rushed to finish. They didn't even refund my full money for the sessions that I didn't get, overall a horrible customer service and policy. My friend recommended this place to me & I wanted to try this place but it was soooo hard to get in contact with someone. I called often to a point where I decided to find another place instead. A year later, I was about to book for another place, but my other friend got me a giftcard for this place as a bday gift. After finally being able to schedule a session & having a few sessions, I'd have to say I am happy with the results. I saw a change after the first session which was crazy to me. I had Jackie my first time and she was ok. She just did everything so fast. My 2nd session I had Kate & I loved her. She took her time and chatted with me as well. She asked on the 3rd session which parts had more hair, I guess so she could focus on that more. My cousin has told me about New You Laser for about a year because she knows I have always wanted to have Laser Hair Removal for my back. So finally she sent me a list of the specials they have and I decided to make an appointment. What I love is that they stay true to their specials and don't continuously try to up-sell everything, which can be VERY annoying whenever you go to other places. Making my appointment was very quick and easy, she also took my payment over the phone which was great. I arrived to the spa and was greeted immediately, I let her know about my appointment and she had me fill out some quick paperwork and as soon as I was done, I went into the room to begin my session. Since I was doing full back and shoulders, I figured it would be a long sessions, however, it was a quick 15 minutes. Was it painful? No but it definitely can sting a little from time to time. I have been going to New You laser since they were at a different location. I used to be one of those people who shaves in the morning and by the end of the day I start getting stubbles. Now I can go several weeks without shaving and I still won't see noticeable hair. I did have to pay for at least 12 sessions to get my desired results and since I got my desired results I have only been going back for maintenance. Its been over a year since my last treatment because I moved away for medical school and the pandemic started a few months later. My results have been the same even without the spaced out yearly maintenance. I plan on resuming the maintenance treatments soon. Bought a Groupon for 6 sessions of laser hair removal. The experience itself was ok, although I have gotten laser at other places/salons and this one was by far the most painful. The "salon" itself is clean but very small and cramped. The rooms are tiny as is the waiting area. They offered additional packages for purchase, but I didn't feel the need to buy one as I really did find this procedure to be more painful than other places I've tried. However, I definitely saw a reduction in the hairs on my legs, although I do think it'll need a touch up soon. Scheduling an appointment was always easy, which was great because my schedule changes week to week, so I needed a space that would be accommodating of that and could allow me to book appointments the week that I needed to come in as opposed to 6 weeks away! The actual service was fine but the customer service was pretty awful. I purchased 6 sessions and for one of my sessions, I missed because I didn't realize it was a holiday. They counted this as a full session against me and were unwilling to budge so now I just have a mediocre outcome because of them. They were running a deal where if you purchase 6 medium sessions, they give you 2 free. I said I'd be willing to purchase this but instead of 2 free medium sessions I'll just take 1 large session to make up for the session I missed. I thought this was a perfectly reasonable offer and in their best interest because 1) takes less time because it's only 1 free session vs. 2 and 2) was new business for them. The person at the front desk was unwilling to budge even though this would have made a customer happy and won them more business. Also their policy is so strict; each session is 10 min so do you really have to penalize someone for missing a 10 min appointment for the first time?? read more

Amazing place! My sister recommended me here and I started off with just my lower legs but after amazing results I decided to get my whole body done due to their being a deal for 10 sessions. I'm consistently late because im extremely bad with timing LOL but they work with you and try to get as much done before the next client walks in. I stumbled upon New You Laser via Groupon four years ago. I bought a package for upper legs, and the results were SO IMPRESSIVE after my first session that I was immediately hooked. To this day, I have minimal-to-zero hair growth on all the parts that I have lasered off. This place is absolutely wonderful from their service, technicians, and equipment. They use the Candela laser which produces a puff of air (it's something much more scientific but that's what it feels like) while lasering. They are attentive to your reaction, and if you need a couple of seconds to reorient yourself, they'll give that time to you. I can mainly attest to Linda's expertise since she was the one I had the most experience with but whenever I had a question about the technique or procedure, she was honest about the pain level and recommendations on products (for instance, she didn't try to upsell me on numbing creams). Depending on which areas you laser, well...it will hurt, especially your first time, and I have a high threshold for pain. Truthfully, the pain is expected, but as your hair begins thinning out/less growth, it will hurt much less. Rescheduling appointments can be a little tricky depending on your technician's availability -- I have noticed over the years that they have been getting busier. If you are unsure of your cycle coming, veer on the side of safety and cancel AT LEAST 24 hours before. If you have a Monday appointment, cancel by the previous Saturday. Also, bring cash for tip. One of the main reasons why it took so long was because I barely grew any hair back, and so my appointments could be pushed back for a significant amount of time. The thought of shaving doesn't cross my mind anymore. I haven't bought shaving cream or razors in a very long time. As in, years. For reference, I am light-skinned (olive-ish) with very dark hair. I have gone to other places: the first one was a scam, and my hair grew back almost immediately after the second one. I recommend this place to all my friends because New You Laser is the only place I trust. It was the strangest feeling to say goodbye after my last session, four years after coming here! If you check GroupOn, there are millions of places in New York that offer laser hair removal packages and then millions more outside of GroupOn that provide the service as well. I did my research, checked Yelp reviews, went door-to-door to several of the "top" laser hair removal on my list and after all of that I decided on New You Laser. Why, you ask? Well... here goes... 1. Best Price Package As I mentioned before, I checked GroupOn deals and called around to see what priced packages the different laser hair removal companies were offering. Most advertised a "full-body" on GroupOn only for me to find out that full-body was up to 5 or 6 areas (where one full leg is 2 areas, not cool). These companies would up-charge for an actual "full-body". New You Laser had the best, most competitive prices with respect to the full-body package because their definition of full-body is the actual full-body. 2. Courteous and knowledgeable Best of all, they are extremely friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. When I contacted them about their GroupOn deal, they had just sold out. They still offered me the GroupOn rate where other companies were like "see ya later sucker". On top of that, the technician that I had was extremely friendly throughout the laser hair removal process. She walked me through the steps in great detail, answered all of my (silly) questions, and helped brace me for the pain in some "delicate" areas. Also, shoutout to the receptionist because she is AWESOME! That woman always has an upbeat attitude (even when I call in a million times to schedule/reschedule) and a huge smile on her face. Note: I did not mention the outcome of the hair removal because that is not something the technicians can control. I see a lot of people complain about the success (or lack thereof) of their process and you should keep in mind that this is not guaranteed because each person and each body part reacts differently to the laser hair removal process. One day post-treatment, my experience for the first of six treatments was great. Here's why: Convenience - office is in the heart of NY, night appointments available, and it literally took 5 min Coverage - I got a Brazilian. This deal covers everything - front, back, everything. Price - Best price available. Linda also offered to match my groupon Brazilian price ($200/6 sessions) for 6 sessions for underams ($159) and legs ($200) - and she accepted a payment plan. So that's $375 up front ($275 later) for every place I have hair. I can do everything in one session - super convenient. Comfort - this really didn't hurt very much. Totally doable. The laser she uses shoots cold water to lesson any pain. It felt kind of like a weird tickle, but only pricked for a moment. It's very fast. Technology - New You Laser uses the Candela GentleMax Pro. Look it up on real self. Doctors seem to say its the best since it combines two lasers - one optimised for dark hair and another for light hair. It also uses the water for comfort. Facilities - Clean and comfortable. It's a small practice, but in the waiting room there is interesting New You Laser reading material on display and specialty products in the health/wellness area available. Great mints. The procedure room was super clean with a comfortable reclining medical bed. Bedside Manner - Linda is passionate about getting you great results. With 4 years in the field, she's accrued enough of a following to open her own practice. She is precise yet warm - she'll answer any questions or concerns so you can feel confident about the procedure and the results you can expect. After my 5th appointment I wasn't seeing significant hair loss & was told I'd probably need another 6 sessions (meanwhile from the start they promised after 6 sessions I'd be hairless). Let me tell you - because the other reviews don't- IT IS PAINFUL. They do not use any kind of numbing mechanism & it's extremely painful. And here I am 4 months after my last treatment with no difference in hair loss. I'd give them 2 stars if I didn't enjoy the technicians so much.
