Monica is the sweetest, most patient person ever!! This was my first time getting laser and she made me feel so comfortable each session by explaining every step to me as she was doing it and checking in on pain/discomfort levels. As far as pain goes, you definitely feel something but that's a given. It feels like a small needle poke but the feeling passes quickly. Let us look into it..." I've made the final decision to not return as, unfortunately, I didn't see the results I was led to expect. I am glad, however, that other reviewers seem to have had good experiences. Truly, I agree that Monica is patient and interesting to talk to, maintains a clean, cosy, and well-designed treatment center, is flexible with appointments, and will even put on your preferred music so you can relax while she works. Because of her cool air system, never did I feel pain. Never. (This is not true of other places, where, while I did see non-trivial results, I had to mentally prepare myself for getting scalded. The technician would have to press down on my skin after each pulse and I'd ask for breaks constantly; that's how bad it hurt.) At LBM, after multiple sessions on different areas, not much happened. I understand you need enough sessions and time. Laser treatment isn't "one-and-done", not at all. I was meticulous about going in consistently and at the right times by consulting with Monica about how many weeks would be okay to wait before the next appointment. All said and done, for some body parts, the hair was less dense in patches. So there was some progress. For other body parts, the hair was pretty much the same, if not worse. I consulted with another laser place, where the technician, looking at my hair color and thickness in one such body part, told me that I should not have received the green light to treat it in the first place, since laser wouldn't be effective. It was not fun to hear that I wasted my money, and a lot of it at that. Overall, Monica's office and bedside manners are great, like others have mentioned. WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO DO THIS?! I have always shaved and waxed (European Wax Center) and wanted to try laser but always shrugged it off. I had a baby a year ago via cesarean birth and my scar was too sensitive to get waxed. I am new to the city and I booked an appointment for a deep peel with Monica, she was warm and friendly and her space felt clean and homey. She started by cleaning my face and she noticed a tiny spot on my cheek that was a bit red/irritated. It was possibly a spot I had been scratching without realizing it on my walk over. The last thing I want to do is talk on a public forum about the fact that I had laser done, but I need to, because Monica deserves it. I had tried a number of places and practitioners over the years who were the most highly rated in their cities, including New York and Washington, DC. The treatments were painful and the practitioners were busy, maybe too busy. Monica treats every session (not just every person) with care, and when you combine that with her equipment (which I can attest has worked wonders for me), the results are worth everything penny and more.
