Glad to be the first reviewer! Gave it 4 stars because I have not fully finished the treatments, I'll come back in the future after I start seeing results! I purchased 6 medium areas through Groupon with Laser Esthetics. I went for my first laser hair removal treatment at this lab today and Sarah was great! I have previously had treatments done at another lab and was worried about what I was walking into at first with this second treatment. Sarah has a nice little lab set up with 2 different rooms and a nice waiting area. As I filled out my paperwork Sarah asked questions about my skin type and if I burned easily so that she is sure to use the right laser for my type of skin and pigment. She wanted to be sure that I would not burn or become excessively red after the treatment; she also made me feel very comfortable. Now, I have had laser removal done prior so I knew what to expect when it came to pain. I am usually pretty good with pain so I breezed right through it and since I did not make her stop was done within about 10 min! She applied a little Aloe Vera to the area then also a very lightly tinted sunscreen and I was all done! She explained how she wanted to see me in another 5-6week to allow the new hair follicle to completely grow out to insure that in the next treatment it all gets taken care of. THIS WOMAN BURNED THE SH*T OUT OF ME! I was seriously covered in circular laser burns allllll over my lady parts for weeks! I have no idea how she has the ratings she does. I bought the Groupon deal and went in for my first session. Mind you, I had a full Brazilian laser treatment done about 10 years ago (6 treatments with absolutely no problems or bad reactions) and just needed a touch-up. I'd also started my touch up process in Los Angeles right before I moved to NY, with absolutely no negative reactions - at all. I model for a living and had an underwear shoot that week which I mentioned to this woman - she assured me it wouldn't be a problem. When I went into the laser office, there was another girl sitting on the couch, young 20's, blond, looked like a young model. The laser woman mentioned I was her fourth model that day. I really REALLY find this hard to believe. While I sat in the waiting area, which was pretty messy, she put on Moana, an odd choice for two grown adults, but whatever. After taking the other girl's paperwork, she took her into a back room for all of two minutes and then brought her back out. Looking back, it kind of makes me wonder if the girl was planted there. Any way, the laser was extremely painful (like back in the old days) and to be honest, she seemed to be enjoying the fact that she was hurting me. Go somewhere else. Never go here. I am so happy I find this place where Brazilian works. I had tried so many times with different therapists. It only made me realize maybe it wont work for me. With my last attempt, I found this place and only took 1 package to make a huge different. FYI, I am Asian. Now I think it is my 5th or 6th treatment. One more treatment, I am done with Brazilian. I have been a client of Sarah's since her opening at Laser Esthetics. I have been getting hair removal in the underarm and brazilian area. I found her on groupon and have been a loyal client since.The amount of care that goes into each session is very pleasing. Not only does she do laser hair removal, but she also offers facials, fat cell removal and a lot more! Being this my first laser hair removal experience, I was pretty nervous, but Sarah walked me thoroughly thru each step such as the side effects-if there are any, the actual process of the hair removal, after care, and precautions. It was very comforting to know that someone can answer even the simplest questions with a comforting answer. Before the actual treatment began, Sarah recommended using a topical numbing gel in case I was sensitive to any pain; but I passed just because I wanted to know what it actually felt like. She also shaves any excess hair in the location you are getting the treatment and cleans the area with hand sanitizer. She started me off at a smaller strength and always asked for my consent if it was ok to go up one-obviously appropriate to my skin. The feeling of the actual laser-on-skin had a little rubber band snap with a cool mist. It honestly felt great(I have a medium pain tolerance). The process only took about 20 min. with no recovery time, maybe even less-depending on where you're getting it. Overall, I would recommend Sarah to everyone! I admit that through the brutal winter weather, I have neglected to trek up to the Upper East Side for about three months now. Another reason being that since my last treatment with Sarah, my skin had improved so tremendously that I no longer have to slather my face in full cover up foundation just to feel comfortable enough to go out. My skin is still far from flawless however, and I am always meticulously searching for things I can improve on. Thus - a huge thank you to Sarah who squeezed me in for a last minute appointment on this March day and welcomed me back with so much warmth and excitement. I followed up with a session of laser hair removal on my upper lip and along my hairline which had previously been the main issue of where my acne was flaring up. Sarah is quite the business women. She clearly has a steady stream of clients as many came for laser while she was giving me my amazing facial. She uses products that i have not heard of but MAN do they work! She certainly multitasks with clients (in and out of room) BUT never left me feeling neglected or forgotten. i am also picky about this particular aspect of facials as I have had many where the esthetician leaves the room while the mask dries and doesn't give a massage or anything. Today, Sarah gave me LED color therapy while my masked dried and she layered another client. This is a $175 treatment apparently and it was wonderful to experience! She didn't charge me for it, obviously but wow! What a cool thing to add. it relaxed me and apparently does wonderful things for your skin. The owner, Sarah greeted me with the warmest welcome. It was my first time lasering my hair so I was nervous. Sarah kindly walked me through the procedure with care. Not only is she professional, shes very sweet and makes you feel comfortable with whatever procedure you are doing. Prior to leaving, I noticed a machine thst looked like a treadmill. I had to ask Sarah what it was. She told me its to help your blood circulation, kindly, she let me try it out. This machine shakes your body in a gentle and oddly soothing way. For someone with terrible varicose problems this is my go to machine when I come back for my next round of hair removing. The prices are reasonable, the owner is super sweet and patient. The place is super clean! As a LES resident, I generally don't (or rarely) go above 34 street, so if I'm willing to go all the way up to 85st, it's worth it!! EDIT: my sciatic pain has been acting up thanks to pregnancy. I decided to call up Sarah and see if she does prenatal massages. THANK GOD she's experienced in it!! During my lovely, relaxing massage, I made a comment about my neck, she told me how it's important masseuses know there are pressure points that could stimulate an early pregnancy. Def good to kno! Bc I was abt to ask her to do some deep tissue massage! Even tho this wasn't a deep tissue massage (which I what I always get) this is as comparable as one of the most relaxing massages! I had some spider veins I was sick of seeing, so I began the daunting task of sorting through all the different places in NYC that do laser vein removal. I picked this place because it was a small business with consistently great reviews, and I'm happy to add another one. Sarah is super professional and definitely knows what she's doing. She introduced me to the Valmont line of products which create almost instant results as does the smooth beam laser for acne treatment - I actually ran in the other day for an "emergency" prevention blast of the laser which worked immediately. I have also seen her for a super special facial (miraculously without squeezing or poking) and for my first ever laser treatments (almost pain free-which Sarah said is due to the type of hi-end machine she employs). For such a specialized, intimate spa, the equipment is incredibly impressive and state of the art as are the products and details (sheets, robes, tables, etc). So I'm two treatments into my laser hair removal package. I purchased six sessions for my bikini and stomach strip area. Sarah was very thorough in explaining how the laser worked and what to expect from each session. She took her time and made me feel extremely comfortable.
