We had a birthday party at Laser Maxx San Jose, and everything was fantastic from start to finish! Everyone absolutely loved the place. The facility is very clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and they were always around whenever we needed anything. The party room was one of my favorite parts, it's spacious, nicely decorated, and has such a cool atmosphere that the kids loved. There's also a small arcade area, which was a huge hit! One of the parents at our daughter's school arranged a large group of kids and parents to enjoy a daytime session of laser tag and we were definitely excited to check this place out. We arrived 15 min early to get situated, we paid for a separate room to put our personal belongings in and waited until we were called to the briefing room. We had around a group of 25+ people so our session only included our own group. We got instructions in the briefing room and was off putting our gear on. It was a free for all style of play, everyone player for themselves. I was surprised to see how big the room was and the also had second story which adds another dynamic during the play. You can shoot off mirrors to ricochet to hit sensors on the other players. It was quite engaging and a ton of fun. Our girls are ages 7 and 9 and they got a hang of how to play right away. Surprisingly, the parents had just as much fun, if not more! The session lasted around 15-20 minutes if I had to estimate and it was definitely enough time to enjoy. The biggest surprise was how much of a workout it was. Every parent mentioned that they were sweating and got a good workout in. They recognize every player including the top 3 scores at the end. You can purchase by session - we decided to do 2 and I think it was the perfect amount. After our first session, there was a group in between to give us a much needed break and we went back in. I recommend coming here with your kids for a family event or even a group event. I am planning to look at birthday party options for my kids bday party later this year. Went for a 7yo birthday party and the kids had a lot of fun. Not sure what the birthday packages were but the kids got to play 2 rounds of tag. There were kids of all ages and adults mixed in to the rounds. I kind of wished there was some sort of separation of little kids and older kids as the adults in the round seemed to have all the high scores. Very well organized party though with the check in and the ln having a round of laser tag then a break and then another round and then pizza and drinks in a private room. There are arcades and the kids all wanted to play on the arcades during the break so be prepared for that. They had a big fridge with lots of different sodas and drinks for the kids to pick from after the second round. They also took care of all the clean up. Friendly and helpful staff. read more

Actually had the best time here! Came with a group of friends - we're in our mid 20s. I totally thought laser tag was just for young kids and yes there were some young kids in the arena but this was a lot of fun for all involved. I've been to LaserMaxx with my family a few times now. This is a super straightforward experience. Show up, play laser tag. There are a few arcade games and places to sit while you wait. For your match. A couple of rooms for birthdays. The maze is two levels and well designed so no one has an advantage and just about anyone can win if they are quick and have good aim. Great experience for kids and parent a like. Super friendly staff. And you get to pick a code name! So much fun. Could improve by having lockers or cubbies for personal items. read more

Just went back to LaserMaxx last night and i must say, i was NOT disappointed (why would i be). we had barely made it on time to play the last game for my sons birthday and they were very much accommodating as usual. very friendly and willing to help. And they now offer laser set ups for the smaller kids who dont completely fill out the vest they provide you initially, which is so cool, convenient, and helpful as my children are on the smaller side and the regular vest could be a little uncomfortable and on the heavy side as well. all in all another great 10/10 experience. i strongly suggest trying this place out if you have a very energetic and active child. its also fun for adults as well i might say. we will definitely continue to frequent this establishment. read more

My boys wanted to play laser tag on a recent rainy weekend. The only one near us in the East Bay is Boomers, where they have many activities - but the laser tag room is small, and therefore easily feels overcrowded. We decided to make the trek down to San Jose and we were so glad we did! The booking process online was easy, and we were called up right on time. The signs around the facility make it very easy to know where you're headed next (Phase 1, Phase 2, etc.) We booked 2 rounds, and I especially liked that we only waited maybe 10 minutes for our next round to start. The staff here were all friendly and professional. They run this place like a well-oiled machine. One tip - consider thinking of your player name before you arrive. You get to pick a fun nickname that will appear on your vest and also the leaderboard and your score sheet. It will be announced to the group. Pick a good one As other reviews have said, I do wish they sold food, even snacks like chips and granola bars. We ended up buying some at Rite Aid and eating them out front while waiting for our turn - but would've loved to support LaserMaxx with our purchase! read more

Had my birthday party here recently, and it was so nostalgic because it looks identical to my birthday party here 8 years ago when it was Laser Quest. Vinny was the best! So helpful, enthusiastic, and friendly, and his great energy really elevated our experience! Omar however was quite the opposite, very unprofessional and unfriendly. He didn't read the rules before we went in, so there were a lot of young kids running. He also started the game as soon as we entered into the gear room, so the game had already begun while we were still trying to exchange vests with a group that took ours on accident. We brought this to his attention and he was rude and ignored us. Wish we could've gotten to play the full game. Such a polar experience between the two employees. We will likely be back and hopefully Vinny will be working then! read more

We have my Twin daughters 12th birthday party there and it was a ton of fun! Easy to book online for the party package. We got the Maxximum package that had 2 games of laser tag, one hour in a party room after with pizza and ice cream cake. Also got 80 credit arcade game card to play for the birthday girls. The pizza was good and everyone got 2 slices each with a drink of choice. They loved the lasertags games and had a break between games. The staff were super nice and let us take a tour of the 2 story facility and its 10,000 sq feet! Kids loved the scorecards and seeing how they were scoring. Just had my son's 9th birthday party here and would hands down do a party here again! All of the kids had a blast and the timing of the party was perfect. Perfect play time and down time. As soon as we arrived, check-in was such a breeze because we had 99% of our party do the waivers before hand. So would highly recommend for you to circulate the waiver link and send reminders. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. They immediately took things that needed to be refrigerated and had our party cart ready to place gifts and things to go in the room. All that we had to bring were a fee extra drinks, waters and snacks. Otherwise the food was the perfect amount. Pizza was from dominoes and the slices were a good size. And each kid had just about two slices (some more, some less). And all the refrigerated items were in the room at the right time when the 2nd session ended. Follow all the tips of the staff and plan for the max number because they only charge you for who shows up if you pay for any extra players after the base price. And it was great that they called me a few days before the party to give me details, answer questions, and take the pizza order. Can't sing enough praises for this place! read more

It is not easy handing a group of 12 and 13 year old boys, but party process and the staff at LaserMaxx are very organized. Jason, the manager, was very accommodating and so helpful! Jason answered my many questions and described the process which helped me understand the set up and take down process. The leader for our laser tag Isiah kept yelling at our kids! He threw papers at our face of our rankings because he was mad at us for laughing. We just had a private birthday party here for my 10 year old daughter and it was AWESOME! It was so easy to book online and the staff called to confirm it. I love the flexibility they give in bringing your own food and drinks except for pizza. If you order their pizza, it's a reasonable price too! The schedule for the private party is great. You check-in 20 minutes before your game time and then you get a 15 minute game, come back out to see your scores, rest, then back in for another game. You can either choose to play free for all or random teams. I highly recommend the private party vs playing with the public because there are some jerks out there. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I asked them to lock our party room since I wanted to leave my purse and also there were a lot of presents inside. Later, we hung some jackets on the door knob since it was locked and I noticed that they placed them inside for us. My 14 year old nephew says this is the best maze he's played in. The other ones he's tried do not have 2 floors. I wish this place was closer to Cupertino but that's my only gripe Highly recommend! read more

Staff like Kathy and LaserMaxx is good staff to have because she started off there years ago when it was previously LaserQuest. She was very knowledgeable and very considerate and has great customer service. The facility was immaculately clean from the entrance way, the waiting room, the arcade area, bathrooms, the laserroom, and the party room. They kept our perishables cold in their industrial fridge until after the games. Andy was really good with tending to us as the marshal. They even provide plates, napkins, and forks. We even forgot our candles and lighter and they came to the rescue with that! The party rooms were themes and painted very cool! And that's what it's about! We had my son's 12th birthday in a private party here last week, and it was an absolute blast! All the grownups joined in, so we had ages 8 to 52 in the mix; we played one free-for-all session and one randomly-assigned teams session, both of which were high-adrenaline fun (and we loved that the printout you get at the end tells you who tagged you the most, who you tagged the most, etc.). The staff were great to work with -- Jason, at the front desk, was incredibly helpful and kind, and Jesse, our Game Marshal, was as well. They seemed to love their jobs and did everything they could to make the party a success. Playing the laser tag game in a diverse crowd of 10-to-60 year olds was a lot of fun. I did not realize my sweet daughter was a sharpshooter! She made it to the first place. I also got my primal instincts revved up. In general, the staff are very friendly and not very formal. They also got a new equipment that is lightweight and well functioning. My daughter went here yesterday to attend a birthday party. She is 10. Her shoulders are red and the left side has a bruise the size of a baseball. At least one other party goers of the same age complained of similar injuries sustained from wearing the vests they provide. We haven't had a chance to talk to all of them. There was no mention of anything to any of the parents about wearing clothing that protects their shoulders or that they cause discomfort and leave wounds and bruises. I'm sure this happens to all the younger aged children and the fact that they don't communicate or convey the risk is inexcusable. read more

Came with my 5 year old for a birthday party. She was pretty nervous because it looked too intimidating. But the staff, specifically the young man that worked today, was so patient and understanding. She eventually warmed up when we went into the birthday room (which was spacious for about 20-25 max, 15 is comfortable) I got to actually play laser tag for only a few minutes so i cant really say too much other than the layout was really fun, and with the black lights and smog the environment was really fun. I wish i could have played longer but i wasn't going to push it with my daughter. Because the staff was so nice, i will not give them 4 stars for the fact that the arcade area was small and limited for game options. Overall, if our kids want a laser tag party we would put lasermaxx at the top of the list as an option. read more
