I really wanted to like this place but I feel like I truly gave it a fair try. I even tried three different lash technicians here and it was all disappointing! Luckily I've found another place that's closer to home and amazing. First off, the location is difficult to find. It's behind and under a gas station. Your lash technician will take you through around to a musty basement spa. It's an open space with several tables. I've gotten my lashes done before and every other place I've been to has a private room. I've NEVER seen such a weird set up before. Another Yelp reviewer described it as "walking in to a murder basement". It does look like a cadaver lab and very concerning during COVID. I wore my N95 mask the entire time. Below is my experience: #1 - I had a Junior stylist. I wanted hybrid lashes but perhaps because of her inexperience she was only able to do classic lashes. Wish she would have told me that before I spent 3 hours on her table. This was a new full set and I was not provided with any care kit or even a lash brush at the very least. Safety alert: she had on a face mask that kept falling below her nose. Was thankful that I had my N95 mask on. #2 - Learning from my previous mistake, I had a Master stylist this time. My full set from #1 only lasted 10 days. It was so sparse that #2 asked me if I even had any extensions on. They did comp an extra 30 minutes to the refill session since the previous set did not last. Half way through the session, someone shut off the AC. The lash technician was pretty mad at her co-worker so apparently this is an ongoing thing. The temperature really needs to be well controlled for the glue to adhere properly. Safety alert: she was mask less so I politely asked her if she could wear a mask and offered her an extra disposable one if she needed it. She seemed annoyed and put on her cloth mask. I informed her that I wanted hybrid so was horrified when she did mega full lashes. Her response was that some of it would fall off anyways. Again, no lash brush or care kit was provided. #3 - I was back again but with a different Master stylist. #2 was right, the lashes did fall off because I was bare at week 2. I really need my lashes to last 3 weeks since I don't have the time to go every 2 weeks. She did a pretty good job but told me we really needed 1.5 hour instead of 1 hour to get my lashes full. It's ridiculous that the lashes won't last 2 weeks and you have to commit to 1.5 hour. She was pretty rude and again, no lash brush or care kit was provided. The lashes lasted 10 days. If you care about COVID safety and want a spa experience, do NOT go here. I'm annoyed that I even tried it three times. read more

Honesty is very important. This place came highly recommended by a dear friend. I was assigned to a new intern (without informing me) and was under her hands for over 4 hours. I was told the appointment shouldn't take more than 2.5 hours. When finished, she had done the exact opposite of what I asked. I was very upset. The owner was snobby and supportive of her new tech by saying "well, she did a great job of gluing and separating the lashes" and "we only charge $99 for her work". She proceeded to offer to remove them which would take another hour. I never asked for cheap. I go for the best. They were the worst both attitude and quality of service. Although a drive from good 'ole Dripping Springs, I am in LOVE with how Erica does my lashes. She is careful to ask exactly what you are going for to make sure she gets it right! I can go a little over two weeks for a fill, and even then I have the majority of my lashes still on. Erica is careful to get the crazy lashes that try and Jab your eye when you're driving (lol) and also make you feel SO BEAUTIFUL. I hate mascara and will never return to it. I have had lashes on for almost a full year now, and I sill have really great growth of my natural lashes which was important for me. I really wanted to like this place because of the reviews. It didn't live up to the hype for me... I'm honestly really upset because I wanted to love this place so bad. When I first got my lashes, I felt so beautiful. It has been a long time since I felt that way so it made me cry in my car to see how pretty I looked with my lashes. Unfortunately they just didn't last. The next day after I had them done, the lashes in the inner corner of my eye fell off little by little. I contacted my master eyelash tech to let her know and she had me come in the same day which I loved. She fixed them up for me and I left happy again. It wasn't even 4 days before they all started falling off again. I thought it was me but I don't even wear makeup and to be completely transparent there's no way it was my skin care routine. I say this because I would dampen my skin with my hands, avoiding my eye area and gently washed my face with Cetaphil. I avoided drenching my whole face in water or cleaning products because of the fact that I wanted my lashes to last longer than usual but it my extra efforts didn't matter anyways. I'm really disappointed... I wish I had the experience that everyone else had. It was nice while they lasted though. Update: I have realized that my own natural lashes are slowly coming off as well. So my eyes are starting to look really bare. I'm actually really freaked out and I'm starting to think that it was the glue that was used on my lashes. The tech did tell me that it was something new they were using that could get wet right away. Now I have to figure out how to get these removed the safest way. read more

This little oasis is the perfect combination of fun and relaxing. Prior to Lash Genie, I had never had eyelash extensions. If I needed an extra "wow" factor, I would just chunk on some Ardell individual lashes. However, with Mardi Gras 2022, I decided that I was too lazy to constantly reapply the lashes. I booked an appointment with Natalie. I didn't bring any photos, but told Natalie that I wanted the lashes to look natural, but photograph well. She was super professional and discussed potential looks with me for 5-10 minutes. After that she worked her magic. She absolutely nailed it!! I ended up with natural glam (if that's a thing) lashes. The lashes look amazing in photographs, but also still natural. If you have been thinking about getting lash extensions, just do it. Seriously, it's totally worth it. You wake up and - BAM - lashes on point. But don't just trust anyone with your lashes - come to the Lash Genie Spa. I came here after having a LASH EMERGENCY, which can only be defined as waking up with over half of your lashes gone and/or having pain at the lash line. After calling a number of different lash studios in Austin and being rejected, I called in a frenzy and one of their staff members took down my number, kept an eye on the schedule and called and TEXTED me with their soonest appointment after a cancellation. Sometimes things just happen for a reason! My appointment was made the following day with Sophie Whorton AKA the lash guru AKA lash magician. After one hour with her, my lash emergency was no more! Not only did my lashes look great, but she also informed me that my previous stylist was doing shortcut fills (multiple extensions on one lash, which resulted in the pain I was having along my lash line) and to make sure that I let that other stylist know. No way I was going back to that place, so Sophie and I game planned about how to let the old lashes shed to get my natural lashes nice and healthy for extensions and the rest is history! I love coming here, such a positive and welcoming atmosphere and everyone is super fun and friendly. They offer a number of services in addition to lashes; waxing (face and body), lash/brow tints/perms spray tanning, hair styling/blowouts, beauty products and makeup services. It's just an awesome place.I don't think a day has gone by that someone does not complimented me on my lashes. I always look forward to my fills with Sophie and seeing the rest of this extremely talented team. I've been coming here for almost a year now. The only person I've ever had do my lashes is Cheyenne. Jesus she's amazing ! She definitely works wonders with my lashes and the only person I trust with these babies. The salon as a whole, is beautiful and the girls up front are all so friendly and you can tell they treat each other with respect and act a genie family. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it here. I've had my lashes done multiple times at other businesses, but I've never been as happy as I have been at lash genie. I was at a loss before I came to lash genie. For example, my lash artist at another place literally forgot who I was and then thought I was someone else, lied to me about some pricing and made false promises...just super weird. Next, I went to a bigger chain for lashes and my lashes that I paid $300 for fell off within 2 days. Oh, also, that place tricked me into paying for a membership. I gave up on having lashes for almost a year, but then I found lash genie. At lash genie, my retention has been PHENOMENAL. These wonderful women actually /teach/ you to wash your lashes where as every other place i've been told me to steer clear from water. They use this amazing glue that can get wet. It makes life so much less stressful with lashes. That just made me trust them even more. I feel so welcomed and respected when I come in through their door. These girls are amazing and so patient, I have super duper twitchy eyes and am a very fidgety person, and they make sure that I don't feel bad about it. They are ridiculously patient. Additionally, they were so welcoming to transfer me to another lash artist when my previous one left. Overall, as someone who is extremely sensitive and anxious about what goes on near my eyes, I will always trust the girls at lash genie. So happy to see them remodeling and growing!
