When entering, I get hit with the hottest room ever. The thermostat was reading above 82°. When I ask if we can turn the air conditioning on, I was told they weren't able to because they needed a key and the owner of lashes desire was the only one who had it and didn't allow them any access to it. The two businesses who rent from here have all rights to utilities as they pay rent and us clients who pay services should not have to deal with being uncomfortable. The owner is being completely unethical. During a few of my encounters, I've heard her bad mouth the two businesses to her clients WHILE me and other clients are getting services done. We all stay quiet to keep it respectful but truthfully, I would love to say something because the two businesses renting from her have been nothing but great to me. The city of San Diego needs to come into this business and expect the facility. During a heat wave, the air conditioning NEEDS to be provided at ALL times. To be honest, it should have never been restricted.

I absolutely love their Carmel Mountain location, but I hate their Point Loma location. I've never had issues at Carmel Mountain, but I constantly have issues in Point Loma. I've repeatedly had issues with their website, allowing you to book on days that they are not open and their website hours on Google saying they're open even when they're not. I've contacted them multiple times about this, but the issue has never been resolved. I'll be honest this was one of the only places I have ever trusted to do my eyebrows and I had a great experience a handful of times I've been to Carmel Mountain. But they really need to get new management for the point Loma location. I know it is new, but that is not an excuse for how it is currently running. I've also heard other reviews from friends of mine saying that they will show up on time for their appointment and the staff is not there and has been up to 30 minutes late for their appointment. I hope to continue to be a customer because I do love the Carmel Valley location, but I really hope they can step it up in point Loma. Overall, I have a bad taste in my mouth from the poor experiences in PL.

We decided to try AO Nails for the first time because we were doing errands in the Poway area. After our experience at AO with Helen and Mia, we found our go to pedicure business. We were given outstanding customer service, the two ladies did a great job with our pedicures, and from start to finish, we enjoyed our experience. AO Nails is located in Poway, specifically towards the east end of Poway Road. It can be found in the shopping center where the following tenants reside: Trader Joe's, Five Below, and Home Goods. The Mexican food restaurant El Ranchito is next door to the nail salon. There is plenty of parking in this shopping center. As you enter AO, you immediately notice how bright the salon is from the natural lighting from their open windows. It's conducive to seeing the handiwork of the nail professionals. One of their main walls has a floral arch and large Hello Kitty character stuffed dolls. There are mounted pics of coastal scenery. We received friendly and diligent customer service from Helen and Mia. Both of their positive dispositions are part of the reason why we would return. I've had a pedicure two times in my entire life and both times I really enjoyed them. AO Nails is the best one from start to finish. Loved that their chairs are massage type, they're comfortable, and they cup holders, which was convenient for my AM/PM XL drink. When they had me soak my feet, the water was really hot, but I got used to the heat real quick. I enjoyed placing my feet into their bubbling spa bath. Wifey paid extra for us to have our calves and feet lotioned and saran wrapped. She paid extra have our feet callouses removed utilizing one of their electronic tools. Lastly, she paid extra for the 10 minute massage done to our calves and feet. I enjoyed everything and it truly felt like I was being pampered. My feet and calves felt renewed, revived, and soft after all that Helen did to them. My pedicure concluded with a clear coat nail polish placed on my nails. Wifey and I have found our go to pedicure spot at AO Nails. Our entire experience was positive from the quality customer service from Helen and Mia, the inviting and well lit business, and the professional and reinvigorating pedicure and add-ons.
