As a small business, they consistently deliver exceptional service, and I never feel more put together than when I have my lash extensions done here. Every single one of their practitioners is incredibly skilled, but I especially love working with Mina and Alexa. They take the time to consult with you and customize your lash look--whether it's for a vacation, a wedding, postpartum recovery, or just everyday confidence. They followed me through all phases of life, and adjusted my lashes with care and expertise, and the results are always flawless. Inconsistent talent/technicians. Some are good, some are not. After being asked to change my appointment twice because of scheduling issues on their end, I ended up with a completely different tech than my normal one. I wasn't happy with the result (every person gives a different look) and the owner, Alexa, asked me to find another place to get my lashes done because she doesn't want to deal with discerning clients. Update 3/10: Alexa gave me a call yesterday to apologise and fully refunded me. I'm updating my review to 3 stars to reflect their good customer service - I appreciate their follow-through. My eye is also much better - Alexa explained that it was likely irritated by the fumes from the glue, and while that was unusual, they do have a 'sensitive' glue that I could try out. She also made sure to explain she'll work with her lash technician to ensure it doesn't happen again. I'm not sure I'll go back just yet, but I do appreciate that she reached out personally and tried to make things right. Good customer service goes a long way, and Lashout doesn't seem to lack in that regard. ----- I want to like Lashout: their salon is very nice, the folks there seem nice, and I'm generally happy with the way my lashes turned out, but I had two issues that I really can't let go of: my right eye is severely irritated, and they mixed up my appointment. I told my lash technician after she had taped down my bottom lashes that I felt they were too tight - they felt like they were pulling down my bottom lids too far, and it was uncomfortable. I said the left was worse than the right, and she adjusted that one for me. We left the right one as is, which I deeply regretted. About an hour into it, the mild discomfort had morphed into a burning sensation in my right eye. I told this to my technician, and she told me to let her know if it became 'unbearable' because it was too late to re-do it. I have a relatively high pain tolerance, so I endured it, but I wish she would have mentioned that beforehand as I would have been pressed her to change both eyelid tapings. Today my eye is worse - it's very sore and honestly looks like pink eye. My optometrist won't cover a medical visit, so I'll need to pay $80 just to see if this is serious or not. On this experience alone, I likely won't come back, or I'll ask for someone different and more experienced. I'm desperately hoping no real damage was done, and that my eye will heal on it's own. For $200 classic lashes, I really expected better. It's embarrassing to post the photos, but I'm not sure how else to convey how they look and feel. On a less serious note - there was also a mix-up with my appointment time. I got a confirmation text the night before my appointment, which I confirmed. But when I arrived, the receptionist seemed confused - she said I was scheduled for a different day with a completely different service (a lash lift). It turned out to be a non-issue since someone was available, but I noticed another lady named Christina came in not ten minutes after me, so perhaps that's where the confusion was. But I definitely won't be recommending this place to anyone else - there are so many other salons to give a chance, and at lower price points. read more

Just left this establishment and can't believe what I just went through. It was my first time here and most likely my last. I booked my appointment online for a full set of volume lashes. They contacted me and said the lash artist Leila had my appointment with was still working on her timing and wanted to offer me 50% off. They said she could complete our session within 2 hours. I've sat through my friend practicing lashes on me when she was an apprentice and thought 2 hours is doable... It had to have been one of the most painful and torturous 2 hours I've been through. I had tears rolling down my face.. Halfway through the session, I had to ask her if we could take a break because my eyes were really burning. She held the fan to my eyes for a couple minutes and I told her to continue cause I honestly just wanted it to be over with. I was pinching myself to distract how painful it was. I asked her what time it was, and she said we had 10 minutes left. I was thinking to myself these lashes will be worth it. Beauty is pain right..? Heck no! When I looked at my lashes, they didn't even look full.. and weren't filled to the corners of my eyes. I asked to take a picture of the glue because I've never been in so much pain while getting my lashes done. I walked to the front desk and explained to the receptionist my experience. She said she was sorry and that she'll ask Leila what went wrong. She then proceeded to ask me "is the card on file, okay?" I told her to just charge it cause I wanted to get out of there. She then asks me, "did you want to give gratuity?" I told her no. I felt horrible even having to pay $125 for 2 hours of torture. I've been getting my lashes done for over 4 years now. Since I've recently moved and had to leave my lash artist in Hawaii, I've had to shop around for a new spot in the city. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Was looking for a new lash place after moving to the Bay Area. Decided to give this place a shot. It only took about a week to get in, and I was able to have an appointment with one of their master techs Joy. The studio itself is super cute and clean. They have a COVID procedure in place. And your room is private during the appointment. Joy walked me through everything, asked for references and we got started. Joy had a super light touch and I seriously could not feel anything, and worked super fast. Loved everything she recommended - love the length and the style. Megan and Lashout are AMAZING. I've been trusting them with my delicate Asian lashes for two years!! Megan is my go-to girl: she's so sweet and friendly, and does beautiful work. Her retention is also the best of anyone I've seen -- her lashes always last 2.5-3 weeks, whether I put them through international travel, hot showers, or Barry's. I started out getting volume fills, but switched to mega volume when Lashout started offering it a few months ago. Megan is honest about what she thinks my lashes can handle (especially when they're early in the growth cycle), and always helps me achieve the dark, full look I love while getting me in and out within an hour. And on top of the fill quality, I always look forward to our hourlong catchups -- she gives bomb life/skincare advice :) I've also gotten fills from Jaz, Alexa and Kyla, all of whom are super sweet and do great work. I usually get fills from Jaz around my birthday/the holidays when I want a really dramatic look. I recently got a fill from Kyla (who left Lashout last year when she moved to NYC) while traveling for work, and she spoke so highly of Alexa and how she treats her girls. As a comparison point, I made the mistake of going to another salon last year when I waited until the last minute and realized Megan was on vacation/all of the other artists were totally booked up. I can't even believe how long it has taken me to write this review. I have been coming to lash out for a little over 2 years now and I have never been more happy with my lashes! I started out going to Alexa and then transitioned to Jaz once Alexa's client list was super full. Both of these ladies are absolutely amazing at what they do!! Jaz always knows what I love but is open to trying new styles on my lashes according to what she feels would look good which i love about her! She always makes suggestions on what will help/look better/feel better! I'm moving soon and I'm legitimately considering keeping her as my lash artist as I still have to come to SF once a month LOL! If I could just rate Alexa Iverson, this would be five stars, however Lashout overall is sub par. I've been going to Lashout for over a year and the only good experiences have been with Alexa. She takes her time and always does a good job with my touch ups, making sure my lashes look full. The rest of the staff are not very good. I went in for a touch up yesterday with Mina and left extremely disappointed with my lashes. They were not full at all and some areas had little to no extensions. I left looking as if I still needed a touch up, and that's exactly what I went and did. Today I went to another spot and have booked 3 more touch ups with them. I do not plan on going back to Lashout if I can help it. The Lashout boutique is super cute with comfy, heated beds for you to lay on while they do your lashes, but if you can't book Alexa, it's definitely not worth it. read more

I L-O-V-E Lashout. I've been coming here for 3+ years now (back when it was called defEYEned!) and I will not go anywhere else. Quality lashes and glue. Professional and experienced staff. And I still get compliments all the time on how good my lashes look. Alexa, the owner, is phenomenal, both as a person and as a lash artist. She's an extremely professional business woman and actually inspired me to start my own company a couple of years ago. I once had a not-so-great experience at one of my appointments and she went above and beyond to make the situation right. I really appreciated that and will always remember it. A year or so ago, Lashout started growing a lot. I knew Alexa was getting busier and busier, so I decided to find someone else I could trust w/ my dainty Asian lashes. I'd say all of the lash artists are great in their own way (they all have slightly different styles and ways of doing things), but over the last year or so, Jazlyn has been my go-to. And let me tell you: Jazlyn is the bomb.com! Not only is she fast and efficient, but she's also really gentle and thorough. I've never told her this, but I love how she'll let me nap through my entire appointment on the days I need it, and on other days, be down to talk w/ me the entire time, haha. Nine months ago, I asked a coworker with beautiful lashes what her secret was and she referred me to Lashout - best rec ever! My first appointment was with Alexa but since then I've had touch-ups with most of the staff, including Megan N, Jazlyn, Christina, and Mina, all with lovely results. Alexa helped me find a good mix of classic and volume lashes after I tried my first partial volume set and now I'm hooked. The space is bright and pretty with comfortable "beds" for lash application, plus some fun extras like a jarful of pink Starbursts. Before each session, they have products in the bathroom to clean your face/lashes, and when you're done, they will offer you a free spoolie to keep your lashes neat. I will say, if you're a contact lens wearer, you might want to come in wearing your glasses because your eyes may water quite a bit from the glue fumes, but just for a minute or so. It's life changing to feel put together without very much makeup. I've been going to Loren for six months now and she's a genius. I personally get volume extensions. Loren is a perfectionist and I get so many compliments on my lashes. My natural lashes don't feel damaged because she's careful and gentle with them. I had the best lash experience with Alexa - couldn't believe how beautiful my lashes looked and how long they lasted. Unfortunately, my second experience was very different - I had a different lash artist and when she handed me the mirror to show me her work, I almost cried. My lashes looked short, straight, and she didn't add any to the edges (or rather, she placed them in such a way that they curled in towards the center of my eye instead of cat-eye like we discussed). I asked her to fix it, she spent 10 minutes fiddling around, and they looked even worse with gaps and and edges not done. Extremely disappointing outcome, wasted $180 and 90 minutes to walk out feeling like my lashes were in worse shape than when I walked in. Would not recommend unless you can secure a spot with Alexa. read more

Alexa is an amazing lash artist with years of experience. I'd never had lash extensions before, but she instantly made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She applied my lash extensions for my wedding and I absolutely loved the length and fullness. They lasted for weeks and looked superb on my honeymoon! They asked if I would update my review, which I am happy to do since they made a genuine effort to correct the issue. The gesture is appreciated! Original review: I left my first session looking goofy with lashes 3 times longer than I asked for (I wanted a more natural look). The owner was nice enough to fix them for me by adding some shorter lashes back in, but the very next session I had, the tech was confused about what length to add and I ended up with huge clumps of short lashes mixed in with the super long ones. I even had a group of 5 or more of my real eyelashes sloppily glued together with a clump of 7 false lashes after I specifically asked for one real lash for one lash extension. It was painful and looked awful. The next appointment I cancelled because the lady at the front desk put me with a novice with out informing me. That's not fair to pair a client with a novice with out informing them that the person is still in training. Overall this was a horrible experience and a waste of loads of money! read more

I'm obsessed with my new lashes by Kyla! Overall, Lashout was extremely convenient and easy to find an appointment. They have great working hours. The entire staff is pleasant and professional! For the location and quality of the lashes, the price point is awesome. With regards to the actual lash appointment and application, the set up was very casual and welcoming. Kyla was hygienic and thorough with setting up. She walked me through different lash styles (based on my eye shape/lash density). People are always asking me about who does my lashes and why they look so good. I tell them Jazlyn literally never disappoints. I always knew Jaz took good care of my natural lashes but a few months into covid once my extension finally shed, the proof was in the pudding. My natural lashes were still in pristine condition. In fact my natural lashes looked so good I swore I was done with extensions forever. That lasted until Lashout was able to open back up and true to form Jaz got me hooked again. Lashout truly changed my life and Megan N. is PHENOMENAL. I was always afraid of trying out lash extensions since I have really sensitive eyes, but during my first appointment, Megan was so patient with me in answering all my millions of questions and found the right lash length and style that worked best for me. In true SF millenial fashion, I found her on Instagram since Lashout captions their client photos with the artist, and I gravitated the most towards her work. Fast forward to a year and a half later - Megan is still the only person I trust with my lash extensions! Not only is she truly an artist in her artistry, she also is incredibly honest with you in advising what style/lengths that would work best for the look you're going for, which I really appreciate. Ever since I've been getting my lashes done by Megan, I get SO many compliments on my lashes (with the majority of them being from strangers). It also speaks volumes to her artistry considering that my lash retention is incredible and they don't start falling out until around 2+ weeks. Lashout is not only an impeccably clean salon, but it's also an IG-worthy oasis where you can truly enjoy taking time away from your day to treat yourself. Think wood decor, pops of pink, gold accents, and an overall very serene vibe. What I also love is that their front desk team also texts you if there are any cancellations on the day of your appointment and if there's an option for you to shift your time slot earlier. Worst set of lashes i have ever received. I told them they were for my sisters wedding and within three days they were all twisting and turning and all fell out. Not to mention they weren't full at all. Paid $150 for a FILL because they charged me an outside lash fee because they didn't do my lashes the previous time. My lady also argued with me about the length of my lashes and at first told me she wouldn't do the size i wanted because my lashes "couldn't handle it". (Have been getting the same size lashes for 5 years). Felt very rude vibes the whole time i was there. Their products are horrible and the lashes felt like straw. Not very happy with my results. I had wanted to get lash extensions for 2+ years and finally, after lots of research, decided to come to Lashout SF. I then waited 4 weeks for my appointment. The day of, I drove 2 hours into the city (and 2 hours out) excited and eager to see the lashes I've always wanted. The lash artist brought me into the room and asked if I knew what I wanted. I said yes and showed her an example of how I would like them, she said ok and got started. She was very quite the whole time so I just assumed she was focusing on perfecting my lashes. After ~50 minutes she VERY briefly told me a little about the after care of lashes.. took the tape off, gave me a mirror, and said next time, if you want, you can do the volume lashes and then she said I can make the appt now as they book up fast. Yes I know, I waited four weeks for this appt just to be let down. If she was not able to do what I had asked for, I feel I should have been told. At first, they looked nice (just not what I asked for/paid for) I have followed every step/tip on the after care card I was given and now, just two days later, I am seeing gaps in my lash extensions and keep seeing lashes that have fallen out. I never rub my eyes, wear eyeliner, use any oils, nor have I used a sauna/steam room as I was advised not to, etc. so I know this should not be happening. Let down on day one, and extremely saddened by their appearance on day two. I can't imagine how they're going to look by the 2-3 week mark when they suggest I get them filled. First of all, I cannot tell you how amazing my lashes look EVERY SINGLE TIME I go here. In fact, both friends and strangers are always complimenting on how great and natural they look. I can't tell you the number of people I've referred to Lashout because they're that good and I know they won't disappoint. The lashes themselves are very high quality; they use faux minx. They're so comfortable and I haven't had any issues. I don't even bother wearing mascara anymore because I simply no longer need to. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. I always end up napping during my appointment. But one of the best reasons to go to Lashout is their customer service. A few months ago there was a mix up with my touch up appointment. But after calling Lashout, they quickly squeezed me in the next day so that I wouldn't end up waiting too long and needing an entirely new set. The ladies there are also very friendly and knowledgable. I've had my lashes done by both Geraldine and Alexa, and they are both fantastic. I have no doubt that the other ladies are just as skilled. All in all, I went from being hesitant about getting extensions to being completely hooked. In fact, I'm so committed that I book 3 touch up appointments in advance. I have been going to Lashout for a little over a year and I never once have been disappointed with my lashes. I consistently get compliments on them and as other reviews have mentioned people frequently wonder if I have just been genetically blessed since they look so natural. I work a 12-hour shift as an RN and have about an hour commute, so on the mornings I work, I prioritize sleep over putting on makeup. With the lash extensions I feel (maybe falsely so) I look at least a little put together even without makeup, so thanks Lashout for making me feel pretty! In the beginning I just booked based on my schedule and while all of the lash artists did/do a great job - Megan has become my go to and I do my best to schedule my appointments based on her availability. She is very kind, professional, and always makes sure you are happy with the end result. My lashes always look great and stay looking great between fills. Lashout has always maintained a beyond standard sanitary space which is one of the big reasons I enjoy going back. I've come here enough to state that it's such a luxury to be able to fully relax and not worry about the overall health of my lashes and eyes. I have taken breaks from lash extensions put on by Lashout and none of my real lashes have been damaged, nor have I ever gotten any eye infection. I wanted to write an update to my review. I've gone many times since my last time with equal happiness each time. Unfortunately, recently I developed an allergy in my right eye to the glue used in lash extensions. I called Lashout and quickly they offered me an additional appointment (the next day!) where they replaced my entire right eye with the sensitive glue that they offer. I'm not sure how my eye will react to this glue but I was so impressed by the professionalism here. The fact that they offered to redo my entire eye was so nice, I know people think this is expected but it isn't everywhere. Thank you to Lashout and Geraldine who did a phenomenal job BOTH times on my lashes. read more
