This is such a long overdue updated review for Mary, specifically! I've been working with Mary prior to moving out of SF for the last 6-7 months of my time in the city instead of Melissa (just based on our schedules, we had more conflicts and less mutual availabilities, but Mel is FANTASTIC still!) Mary is so patient, friendly, and has always been so meticulous with my lash details, she'll work on getting the lashes just right based on my natural eye shape. Before we start every filler session, she confirms the style I would like or if I'd like to change things up (and she is so accommodating whenever I do what to go longer, shorter, more natural, or more avant-garde, depending on the occasion!) I always look forward to my sessions with Mary, enjoy our 60-75 minute conversations even more, and before I moved, we even had a quick little breakfast party in the waiting area. I've been wanting lash extensions for a while now. I tried a few years ago at another place and had so-so results so have been reluctant to try again. A friend recently referred me to Artisan Eyelashes and Melissa, and after my appointment yesterday, all I can say is wow! From start to finish it was a perfect experience. The salon is lovely, and the minute I walked in the door I could feel myself relaxing. The entire vibe is warm yet very professional and clean. Melissa greeted me within minutes of my appointment time, whisked me over to her station, and listened while I described the look I was going for. The process itself was easy and surprisingly relaxing. She explained what she was doing every step of the way, and made sure to check in with me regularly, ensuring that I was comfortable. (which I was ... I almost fell asleep!). The results were better than I could've imagined. I did my eyelashes extension on Friday with Missy. I am very impressed with how clean the studio and the additional policies that they add in response to Covid precautions. There is thermometer at the door entrance, we have to wear masks all the time including the aesthetician. They add clear plastic flexi-glass in between me and the aesthetician so that I feel safe the whole time. They distance the beds, open the window for air flow, and remove all the blankets, pillows, etc. The bed is now covered with plastic so that they can clean and disinfect it in between clients. They also implement touchless payment process. I feel that the owner (Melissa) did an amazing job, above and beyond to ensure that they can still provide the services safely!! Been seeing Elena for lash lifts for over a year now, and in addition to using a lash growth serum (approved by her, of course), the lifts make my lashes sky-high and made such a difference in my makeup. I like to go every 5-6 weeks (book ahead!!) but have gone up to 8--my lashes are naturally stick-straight and stubborn and DO NOT hold a curl for longer than 20mins so doing the lash lifts more frequently are absolutely worth it in my opinion. Even with the serum, I don't have super long lashes so I can only imagine what this could do for you if you've been blessed with naturally great lashes! The process is really straightforward--you lay down, close your eyes, let Elena do her magic and one hour later, BOOM. You're literally looking out onto the world with a brand new set of eyes! Elena is really diligent and gentle and keeps meticulous notes regarding my processing times (one eye needs a little more TLC than the other since ya know, they're sisters not twins), and always remembers things we talked about last time but also lets me "sleep" through on the days I just need a little quiet self-care time. One important tip: always eat before you go! One time, I went on an empty stomach and got SO dizzy that Elena ran and got me a jerky stick so I could stabilize. THE SERVICE, I tell you! read more

My boyfriend got krazy glue in his eyelashes and was in so much pain. I called Artisan as our options were limited apart from cutting and hurting him. the coconut oil was helping but not ideal. They were very patient and caring and salvaged his eyelashes! Very clean and detail oriented, can't thank them enough. Very impressed! I've been going here for months and just a few days ago I got a new style of lashes that I didn't like. Looked too heavy for me. I prefer natural with more fullness on the outer corners, like a cat-eye effect. I texted Melissa and she immediately got me in for a full removal the next day and a full redo of the lashes two days later, and now they look great! I love the lashes I get here so much. They always last 3+ weeks, too, and I only get a half set (again I want natural/my lashes but better look). Can't live without them now! read more

We had fun conversation and before I knew it the appointment was over. I realized I can really just pop over after a work day because its a quick appt. I feel badly writing a mediocre review because I wasn't really happy with my results. It's not like Rachel rushed or messed up or did anything to hurt my lashes. She was super sweet and gentle, and I fell asleep during the process. But it's just too subtle. There is absolutely no visible difference between my eyelash extensions and what my eyes look like with eyeliner and mascara. I saw my friends for my birthday, coworkers, my family for Mother's Day... NO ONE NOTICED ANYTHING DIFFERENT.
