I've been seeing Valeriya for regular facials for over a year now, and I almost don't want to write this review because she's just so good at what she does I kind of want to gatekeep her! I started seeing her a year before my wedding with the goal of improving my overall skin texture, tone, and health. Besides being a master of her craft, Valeriya is just the sweetest, kindest, most patient person. She really takes the time to get to know you and your skin. Of course you have to go semi-consistently for this to really be possible, but consistency is key with anything skin-related, and patience too. The first time I saw her I did a Hydrafacial, but she recommended we switch to DMK and that's what we've been doing almost every session since (with a few chemical peels sprinkled in). Every time I see her she switches things up as needed based on what my skin needs that day. That's what I love about her--it's never one-size-fits-all with her treatments--she understands my skin and can predict what it needs and how it will react. She's also incredibly generous with her time and will respond to texts whenever I have had questions outside of our sessions--she truly cares about her clients and their outcomes. I've also done Aerolase laser treatments a couple of times to target stubborn cystic pimples and have had great results. Of course Valeriya doesn't do the laser herself, but her nurse Pearl is such a sweetheart as well and I love that her and Valeriya work together as a team to make sure their clients are getting the right combination of treatments to address their specific skin concerns. Valeriya is never pushy with products, but I have purchased and used many of the products she has recommended to me since I started working with her. Although not every single product has become a consistent staple in my skincare routine, the ones that have are products I am truly obsessed with and feel have made a massive difference in my skin since using them consistently. My skin was absolutely glowing on my wedding day and I give 90% of the credit for that to Valeriya, and only 10% to myself for being consistent with my skincare routine (that Valeriya created for me). My lashes have been forever blessed since I started the Yumi lash + Grandelash journey with Valerie for the past two years. I've always been hesitant on getting falsies everyone seems to flock to because 1. you can't rub your eyes, 2. they are damaging to your natural lashes, and 3. I don't want to feel like a car with unnatural looking carlashes. In comparison, Yumi lash treatment results in healthier and lifted versions of your natural lashes. Combined with the Grandelash lengthening home-treatment, I went from being frustrated with my down-pointing curtains of short asian lashes to getting random compliments on my reborn long curled natural lashes. This was my Yumi lash experience. Well this is my first time ever doing this type of treatment. I've been considering doing eye lash extensions but once I researched it I knew that was not for me. So decided to look into eye lash lift instead and ended up doing the Yumi lash lift. YUMILashes is a keratin treatment that enhances your natural lashes by lifting the hairs and curling them. It's supposed to last anywhere from 2-3 months. Also they recommend a Keratin clear mascara to take home treatment. From what I was told and read this keratin mascara strengthens your lashes in between treatments and the main ingredient is keratin. It helps hydrate, nourish and grow healthy eyelashes. So far I like the effect because I don't have to worry about wearing mascara and when I do wear mascara it makes it easier to wear and my eyelashes look even longer. I went to Skinnovation about a week ago and Pricilla did the treatment. She is really easy to talk to and a super nice lady. She did a wonderful job. I liked that as she was doing the treatment she was telling me what to expect so I felt comfortable. I love it! Parking was a bit difficult but other than that the place is nice, clean, and friendly. Valeriya is very knowledgeable and passionate about skincare. She researches and tries the services on herself so she can attest to the effectiveness. She constantly keeps her skills up to date and also will be honest with you. For example, don't come in with lashes damaged from extensions or perms and expect the lash lift to make them look long and lush. Use a lash serum for at least a month before so you can really see the results of the lift. I have been getting lash lifts from Valeriya for over 2 years now. Before that, I've tried lash extensions (looks great at first but not at the end) and lash perms (too damaging). I have straight lashes that tend to poke into my eyes. The lash lift fixes that problem and keeps my lashes curled and out of my eyes for a good 8 - 12 weeks with care. (Do not get your lashes wet the first 48 hours after your lift!) Plus if you use lash serum regularly, your lashes will really pop after you get the lift. My lashes still look healthy when it's time to get a new lift, unlike with lash extensions and lash perms. Of all the things I did in the 6 months before my wedding, investing in the products and regular facials at Skinnovation was by far the best decision. Amanda is incredibly knowledgable about these products and a whole host of skin issues, and within 4 months of working with her, my eczema- and cystic acne-prone skin is no longer red, painful, scratchy, puffy and reactive -- and you'd never guess I had anything less than perfect skin. After doing some research I decided to book an appointment with Valeriya for a YUMI lash lift. I have very sensitive eyes/skin but Valeriya was very careful and clean with the whole process making it a very good experience. She is very informative and will make sure you know everything before the process begins. Throughout the process, she communicated what she was doing so there are no surprises. She takes personalized notes for every client so she remembers your experience, allowing her to make sure every visit is great. The Yumi lash lift didn't burn and didn't smell unpleasant. You cannot get your lashes wet for 48hours but after 48hours, your lashes begin to feather out and look even more beautiful. Had my first ever YUMI lash lift and so far I can't believe how much of a difference it has made, truly you must try! I haven't worn mascara since I had it done! It's been about 1.5 weeks and the pigment is still a deep black on my lashes! Which is amazing because I'm a natural blonde with long blonde lashes and blonde eyebrows! Just had an lash lift with Valeriya yesterday and I'm so happy with it! I wasn't really sure what to expect since it was my first time, but Valeriya explained everything and made me feel very comfortable. I messaged her ahead of time to ask if she felt like it would be okay for me (I have VERY sensitive skin). She reassured me that it would be fine, and she was right. I didn't have any negative reactions to any part of the process. The whole thing was relatively quick (about an hour) and I basically just got to lay there and relax for an hour. I am obsessed with my eyelashes! I've been getting my short, stick-straight Asian lashes permed on/off for the last 15 years and converted to Yumi lashes 3 years ago. My go-to studio moved and shortened their hours, so I was in search of a new one that's more accessible. I tried 3 different studios around the Bay and was disappointed in all of them. I was ready to give up on the perfect curl when I found Skinnovation Studio. Even better than my original studio, my lashes are soooo curly and lasts at least 8 weeks (with proper care). No need for mascara or a lash curler in the mornings. I've been to Skinnovation Studio twice now (once with Priscilla and once with Kristen) and am happy to say I found a new go-to studio.
