Getting lash extensions aren't new to me, I've done them a few times before but each one was frustratingly terrible and my lashes suffered for it. I found LashPower through Yelp and decided to give it a go. When I arrived, Ayumi (the owner, I believe) discussed with me the kind of lashes I wanted. I showed her some examples of the kind of look I wanted to achieve based on the existing photos on yelp of the work done on her clients. she was very thorough in trying to understand my needs and explained to me how she was going to achieve the lashes I wanted. The fact that she listened, discussed, and explained everything before we started put my mind at ease that paying $180 for the service would be worth it! The entire thing took about an hour and a half. After the lashes were put on and I saw myself in the mirror, I was extremely pleased with the work done! My lashes (I got the feather type, in C/J curl for a sexy cat eye look) looked beautiful and natural. Hands down the best lashes I've gotten ever. Ayumi really knows what she's doing and knows how to deliver what clients want! Just make sure you do your part and explain clearly, and with photos to give her a good idea. She will work with you to make it happen and will also explain if a certain look you want might not to be achievable with your natural lashes but trust me she's so good she'll make it work. 10/10 would recommend and I'll definitely be coming back in a few weeks to get them refilled when/if lashes fall out. read more

I found Lash Power online when I first was considering getting lashes done. It seemed to me that the glue they use and lashes were of a higher quality than many other locations and that it was a more upscale establishment. That is certainly the case! It is a serene spa setting inside that is always relaxing and very clean. I have been going now for several months and Akina always does my lashes. She is very sweet and friendly and always makes me feel at ease and relaxed. Even though my eyes are very sensitive I am able to fall asleep during the process because she is very gentle. She doesn't even tease me when I wake myself up by snoring! Ha! The lashes look more natural than others I have seen but always stunning. I get the Leaf style and have been very happy with longevity and comfort. I go for a refill every 3 weeks but could wait for 4 if needed and they would still be ok. If I could give this place zero stars I would. If you are someone like me who relies on reviews to try a place then please save yourself. I'm sure the majority of these reviews are based on the discount they offer you to leave a review. I am not new to lash extensions, I've done them a ton of times. It was my first time here and I told the tech EXACTLY what I wanted and exactly what I don't like. I asked for long lashes like what I had on ( I said at least 14s), I asked for super full long lashes for a glam look. I paid for the most expensive lash type because I mentioned that I wanted soft lashes that don't give that stiff look. I mentioned that I do not like when lashes clunk together or are pointed down. Yet everything I described that I didn't like is exactly what I got and everything I did want is what I did NOT get. The tech put 12 and 13s (not what I asked) The lashes are all poking into my eyes and there are even pieces on my actual LID above the lash line! I'll be getting these removed bc I'm sure the constant lashes in my eye is going to cause an infection. I don't have a problem spending $200 on great lashes but that's not what I got here. Given that these are causing a problem going into my eyes, I didn't get what I asked for and how awful the job was they should make it right and offer a refund! It has not even been a full week and they look terrible. I get lashes so that I don't need to wear makeup. I had full blown makeup on New Year's Eve and you could not tell I had lashes on. I got the opposite of what I asked for here so I was basically ripped off. read more

I'm a newbie to eyelash extensions, someone who waited 3 years to finally make the jump! I did my fair share of research on salons and the eyelash extension process. I queried my friends, two of whom said their eyelash extension experience were nightmares; one of my friends said that after getting eyelash extensions, her own eyelashes became very sparse, and she opted to use Latisse afterward. She warned me against having eyelash extensions. She told me to be very very careful about choosing the eyelash specialist. So that made me pause. But the recommendations here were so sincere and specific that I decided to try Lashpower. Because I rrrreally wanted eyelash extensions. Well--jump forward several months! I wish I could say that I am super excited about the result of my lashes. Did they do a good job? YES, Was the service as great as expected? YES. Did my lashes look BOOM POW afterwards? No. Unfortunately I have the shortest, faintest lashes known to (wo)man, and the technician did all that she could the improve what was there with the individual last technique and the thickest last my sorry curls could support. They definitely look better than my natural lashes, but they aren't as prominent as I would've hoped. Would I go back? Perhaps. It's a bit pricey to not feel like I'm feeling the impact that I want. You will be walking into a brownstone wondering where the place is (no identification on any door) so you have to call them on the phone and a magical person will pop out. Seems a bit of a clumsy set-up inside with the public bathroom out in the hallway. They don't show you photos upfront to view- just a chart and the communication can be limited limited. The technician did wrap my eyes and hair line for protection but ended up making my bangs flat (she did not ask or tell me what she was doing) as I would have had her pull my hair back. I love this place!! I got my eyelash done here over 1month ago and its still stay well! The staff was so friendly and her skill is amazing! At the first time I got counseling very carefully about my condition and how I want to get done. I felt everything clear. I loved the style and the length of the lashes I got. The technicians are skilled and payed close attention to the way I described how I wanted my lashes to look. However, I've only had them for a week and they're all almost gone even though I followed the care instructions to a T. They started falling out the first couple days I got them. She's very gentle and my lashes always look great for weeks! My only other lash salon experience was at a place near Bryant Park. Their lashes felt heavy and made my eyes itchy. I have a mixed feeling about this salon and my experience though I truly wanted to love the experience..I'll be honest. It was my first time with them. When I visited this cozy and pleasant salon,the meticulous consultation blew my mind. My technician that day did not introduce herself or her name and the consultation started right off to the technical stuff. In their individually separated room I found their bed is clean looking and comfortable with back knee cushion. Nice soothing music was on :) During the application the technician poked my eyelid and under eye a few times with her sharp and pointy tool and it was painful and made me a bit uncomfortable, a bit shocked too as this never happened in my last three experiences at other salons. There was no 'sorry' or 'excuse me'. At the completion, I had a look in the mirror and thought they look gorgeous but saw that they were not even and she agreed to realign them. I thought gorgeous but I expressed that I was not sure if they were exactly the way I wanted. She mentioned that as this is our first time and we'll get better and achieve more ideal shape from next time on. When I got home, I had a better look in the mirror and find out what was bothering me. The root pat of my lash extensions overshadow my eyes meaning they are not curly enough that they made my eyes look smaller. They are not as lifted as the photos introduced here. My original lashes are stick straight and I know that with those lashes achieving wide open and perky eyelash extension is possible so I was not 100% satisfied with the result. This place truly deserves more than 5 stars! This was my first time here & it certainly will not be my last! Unfortunately, I didn't come to this place to get eyelash extensions, but I did go to get my eyebrows done. I was supposed to not only get my eyebrows waxed, but also my eyebrows tint. It ended up being just a wax. I've gone to many places in Queens just to pay $4 or $5 and sometimes, it's not about how much you save, sometimes it's about how you are treated and how one meets your needs. I have some horror stories with some of the places I've been to, but this place was a dream come true. Ayumi was the person that did my eyebrows a half hour ago and I walked in 5 minutes late due to me enjoying my lunch. She immediately welcomed me and made me feel right at home by taking my scarf and coat and walked me into the room where she asked me some questions about my eyebrows. It seems as though I didn't need the tint since my eyebrows were the darkest color. She took the time to thoroughly explain what I can do to make them look fuller which I appreciated, instead of just taking extra money from me and doing something that wasn't necessary. At the end of the session, she gave me a mirror and we looked at each eyebrow together and she would make sure they both looked equal & perfect.
