I had my first appt with Quyen yesterday and I'm giving her all 5 stars. I will list the reasons why this is deserving below. First, let me tell you that I've had my share of good and bad experiences when it comes to trusting someone with your skin needs. I've gone to big name places (that we all know) and also some smaller scale places too. There were some good experiences and some not so good ones. I'm not one to give reviews but I felt I needed to this time because it is well deserved and because I am just happy that I decided to go with Quyen. ** She's the only one. That means you have her attention 100%. I've been to places where they would book two clients at the same time under one esthetician. They would usually throw a mask on and leave you in the room by yourself while they jump to another client in the next room. I really hated that! Not the case here. ** Clean. Her space is small but quaint and surprisingly very relaxing. I did not feel uncomfortable at any point. She also uses gloves (a huge plus!) and changed it a few times throughout my treatment. I stayed awake throughout my whole treatment because I really wanted to observe and get a feel of what was going on and I'm glad I did. It was re-assuring. ** She gets to know you. The first thing she will do before anything is to ask you about your concerns. She'll then go over what your routine is and what you want to target. After getting to know about your skin through you, she will tell you about the products she will be using. Nothing is a surprise She's very open to any comments, concerns and questions. She's super sweet and nice and you come out feeling like you just gained a friend. ** The products she uses are 100% natural. With that said, state all of your allergies! With pollen allergies, there were some products she did not use on me because of that. ** No sell. I knew what treatment I signed up for and the cost of it through her website. During the introductory chit chat, there was no selling of products and I appreciated that . It sent me a good message knowing that yes, it's her business but she's not out there to squeeze every penny out of me. ** Follow-up. Expect to hear from her after your treatment. I got an email and a text from her the following day asking how my skin looked and felt. She also recommended products to use based on what she learned about my skin. You are probably thinking "I thought you said there wasn't a sales pitch?" It isn't. These are products from a company she firmly believes in and has seen results herself. She wasn't pushy at all. Yes, I ended up ordering the products through their website anyways but I was already looking for natural products and so why not try (for me)? ** Lastly, my skin feels super great. She did thorough extractions on me (like A LOT) but I didn't bruise at all. Umm what? No bruising? I know, hard to believe too. I almost cried tears of joy that I was able to walk out of the place without vivid red marks on my face. Overall, I'm happy with my experience and results and I'm willing to update this review after my 2nd appt with her as well to see if anything changes. Quyen Quyen Quyen.. where do I start? First off, 5 stars isn't enough. Is there a 10 star option? 100 star? I originally came to Quyen as a last resort for my skin. I never had issues with acne growing up, but last year (out of what seemed like nowhere), my skin hit rock bottom. My forehead was bumpy, red, scared and breaking out CONSTANTLY. Same with my chin- I felt like, no matter how much makeup I put on, you could always see how bad my skin was. It got to the point where I had trouble actually leaving my house. Honestly, I was nervous seeing Quyen. I was weary if any changes were going to happen, if it was worth the money, etc etc.. Let me tell you: it was one of the greatest decisions I have ever made. I see her tomorrow for my third session (I've seen her twice already, so once every month) and GODDAMN has my skin CHANGED. I'm literally glowing. I get a pimple here and there (dairy, period, high stress causes me to break out), but other than that my skin is so much clearer. I can actually leave the house without makeup one.. I have significantly less bumps, no more cystic acne, my redness has gone down drastically (the picture below is two months apart; left is right before I saw her, and right is two sessions after.. you can see how different my skin is). Every day I wake up and am in awe of how beautiful my skin is looking. Not only is she an actual skin magician, but she's also the sweetest human being I have ever met. Yes I go to her initially for my skin, but I also go because I know she cares about me and her clients. I can talk to her about my life and what's going on, I can reach out if I have any questions or need advice/help with anything, and she's always there. It's obvious how much she loves what she does, and how much she loves her clients. I really could not recommend her enough. read more

As someone who is extremely wary of dermatologists and prescriptions that make skin issues "disappear!", I have wanted someone who understands the connection between your body's health and the state of the mind. Quyen is that person. She asks you the important questions - are you stressed, how are you eating, what is going on in your life that might be causing your skin to react in whatever way? In the past year I have begun to understand my skin in a way I never have, and learned time and time again how important self care is. Taking care of what is on the inside, especially in such a bustling city, will have a direct to what is on the outside. Quyen's holistic practice, incredible knowledge of cruelty-free and organic skin care products, and healing presence have put me at ease in my most stressful moments. She checks in with me, answers all my panicked questions, and an hour in a room with her is a meditative experience better than any full body massage. I suffer from depression and anxiety, and when my brain begins to let me down - it shows up on my face. Which makes me anxious all over again, because I feel embarrassed about my skin. Quyen has the ability to remind me to take space for myself, puts me at ease with her expertise, and relieves my impulse to give up and go to a dermatologist for an expensive and chemical "quick fix!" We cannot forget the mind body connection, and Quyen doesn't let us. She goes above and beyond the duties of any aesthetician I've ever seen, and I am so grateful for her. Let me start by saying I have been to a handful of places in the city for facials and most of the time I'm either shamed by the esthetician for having shitty skin or they're pushing products on me before I even sit up. Quyen is super chill, and will not make you feel like a troll for having acne. She explains everything she's doing and is personable in her approach to skincare. She's not out here preaching nonsense and she's not upselling products or services to you either. I said I wanted to try microcurrent during our next session (I'm 25) and she told me straight up I didn't need it. I booked it anyway because I'm curious about it but I really appreciated her trying to save me money. I had the dermaplanning facial with extra extractions and a hydro-jelly mask. It's been about 3 years since my last facial because I didn't want to deal with being embarrassed at a spa so she had a lot of junk to get out of my face. The next day I had minor peeling around my nose but my face was CLEAN. No more blackheads on my nose, the super large pores on my cheeks were clean so they didn't look as huge and my face was soft and brighter. I'll probably find a backup esthetician if the L train ends up shutting down but I'm super glad I found Quyen. I think if you're in the market for an esthetician that's honest and will listen to you about your skin concerns you should definitely reach out to Quyen and get on her waitlist. Quyen is an absolute lifesaver. I started having issues with acne in my 20's and did the whole damn thang with dermatologist visits and expensive cleansers, lotions, and ointments. Nothing worked, and most products were so harsh they actually wound up doing more harm than good. If you can imagine super sterile meets Zen, this is it. She is IMMACULATE! And her approach to health and skin care is holistic. The way she communicates her approach and process is welcoming and transparent. If at anytime a question arose, I was safe and welcomed to ask. She is SO pleasant and she is very, VERY skilled. The quality of the products are unparalleled, and you literally cannot find this level of quality anywhere else in the city. A true "farm-to-face" experience. Anything she put on my face was safe to go in my mouth.... which really made me question what I'd been putting on in the first place. I had my first facial with Quyen today and it was exceptional. Before even beginning the session we sat and spoke about my health and wellness. Things such food allergies, my feelings on my skin, and problem areas. She goes in depth to get a grasp of who you are and how she can help you improve your skin. So after the chat we got to business. I opted for the Dermaplaning and Bespoke Holistic Facial. First off, there's no long list of confusing facials to choose from. Quyen tailors the facial to your specific needs which I love !! Which takes the pressure off because let's be real skin care ain't easy lol. In a city where we all get caught up in the hustle and bustle, Quyen's space is where you get to unwind, relax, & enjoy a bomb facial. When it came time for my extractions it took an hour alone lol. (my skin was in pretty bad shape) she's very thorough and makes sure she gets everything, even the nitty gritty things you didn't know existed. Overall, I appreciate that along the session she informed me on my skin. I learned so much about my skin and why it wasn't progressing. But I'm finally on the right track now and I'm happy. I was lucky enough to meet Quyen at my job and I am so glad that I did! After telling me about her services, I was eager to book an appointment. From the minute I booked the appointment until way after my treatment, Quyen has been amazing. She customized a facial based on my unique needs. She is kind, gentle, understanding, and extremely knowledgeable and an expert at what she does. For every question I had, she had the answer and the solution. She walked me through each step she was doing during the facial and explained what she was doing. As soon as my treatment was over, my skin was already glowing and I was pleasantly surprised my skin could ever look like that. Quyen is truly fantastic, I absolutely have never met a better esthetician. I started going to Clean Beauty Quyen for Brazilian waxes after a rave review from a friend and I couldn't have been more impressed. The wax she uses is gentle, natural, and always gets the hair down to the root. I've had frustrations with other waxers before when I've requested Brazilians because they often don't get everything, but Quyen does. She gets EVERYTHING and I really appreciate that. Not only is the waxing experience flawless, but the results last twice as long as any other wax I've got. I have no idea how she does it, but I'm not ready for another wax for a full two months after an appointment which, to me, completely justifies the price. I have struggled with acne and problem skin for most of my life now, and my facial with Quyen was an absolute dream.
