So, you can do like I did and scour the internet. Sometimes the person answering the phone tips you off as to whether you would be a good fit with that service provider. I'm picky when it comes to choosing health providers, and staff is a large part of that decision making. I was lucky. My call to Upper Richmond Optometry revealed a professionalism and friendliness I was looking for. Information received during the phone call plus info on their website convinced me to take a risk and make an appointment. I'm so glad I did! They are great! The exam was thorough and informative. It was obvious the team is interested not only in corrective eye care, but preventative management. Subsequent contact has convinced me I made the right choice for visual care. Cutting-edge technology is important, but I value professionalism, friendliness, helpfulness, good humor, and personal interest more. Upper Richmond Optometry is the best in my eyes! (Pun intended,)

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Throughout the appointment, Dr. Pushka was rude, curt, impatient, and lacked the compassion and professionalism that I would expect when caring for an elderly patient with cognitive impairment. Patients with dementia often need extra patience, reassurance, and clear communication, and we did not feel that this was provided. When my wife and I entered the room to help interpret and support my mother-in-law, Dr. Pushka appeared upset and commented that having more people in the room would create too much body heat which makes her uncomfotable. We found this remark inappropriate and insensitive, particularly given that we were there solely to help an elderly family member understand the assessment. Every healthcare professional can have a busy day, but kindness, patience, and respect are especially important when caring for vulnerable patients. Unfortunately, this visit fell well short of those expectations.

On my first pair, they claimed i was wearing them too close to my face, so they adjusted them out. No improvement. They next claimed I was using wrong cleaner and must have damaged the coating. Since i wasn't always using their cleaner, I took their word for it. When i scratched the lens, i went in for an auto tinting lens relacement, being careful to only use their cleaner. They were just as bad for cleaning and the tint malfunctions all the time. It stays dark when i enter my house from bright outdoors. i have to be inside for many minutes before they go bright again. When I complain, I get this "our lenses are best in class" nonsense. When I was waiting to get my new lenses i reverted back to an old pair of real glass lenses and had no cleaning issues at all. Never going back to this place again.Their product is junk. Nice people though.

I also have a lot of concerns brought up to me by previous optometrists and so I had many questions. Dr. Mao took the time to answer all of my many questions, and was very patient. He appeared extremely knowledgeable and even my friend who had come with me to the appointment was very impressed by him. Also purchased glasses and frames from the attached optical store. Corrine was friendly and very flexible in helping me order frames that I had found online that were not in store. Fair pricing as well on their products!

I have had glasses for a number of years and am quite careful with them...no Kleenex or paper products ever. I was told eyelashes can cause scrapes, are you kidding. Regardless, my glasses are sent off for the new lenses and I am back to my old ones (4 yrs) with no scratches, until my 2x repaired ones return. Again, selection was good and no waiting.

We recently moved to London ON from the west coast and after having the same family doctor for 28…read moreyears, the horror stories we heard about the difficulty of finding a new doctor had us in a panic, especially at this stage in life and after "applying" (unbelievable) at several medical offices and never hearing back from anyone. The alternative -- taking hours off work for a 15-minute consultation that's restricted to one symptom only -- was even worse. In contrast, Dr. Koyenikan (who was actively taking on new patients at the time) agreed to see my spouse and I together, giving us his full attention during our initial visit, and reassuring us that we would never again be without health care. As part of a medical consortium, we now have access to after-hours care as well, which is crucial for people who work during set hours and can't easily take time off. Dr. Koyenikan is funny and personable, and really made us feel welcome. His receptionist, Maryanne (sp?), is also very nice and helpful. We feel very lucky to have found a doctor who makes us feel valued. The relationship is young but we believe we are in good hands.

The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, which makes a huge difference. From the front desk to the dental chair, everyone is kind, professional, and easy to talk to. They make what can be a stressful visit feel a lot more relaxed. I never feel like just another patient there. They really take the time to get to know you and make sure you're comfortable every step of the way. In this last few months I have had nothing restored, my chart marked with wrong information and mixed up dentists, a dentist resign, be charged for a procedure not needed, an appointment cancelled twice by the office and lost and broken 2 more teeth which now am being referred elsewhere because they do not offer sleep dentistry and my mouth won't freeze!!!
