I have worn glasses and contacts since I was 10 years old. Within the last few months, I decided that I wanted to get Lasik. I got Lasik Surgery this past weekend and would recommend LasikPlus to anyone interested in the surgery. They are very friendly and informative. The consultation was free and easy. They checked my eyes the same as my regular eye doctor and answered all questions. I suggest bringing sunglasses because they dilate your eyes and it's bright afterwards. The surgery was quick and painless. It's been 3+ days now and my eyes are irritated but I go back tomorrow for a post check up. This business is the real deal. Worth the five stars. In a nutshell, I had my Lasik procedure 3 months ago and it could not have gone more smoothly. It feels corporate - I will definitely concede that. I was worried they would try to 'sell' me things I didn't need. But all my fears were allayed after my first visit. They TRULY put patients first. They want to make sure you are absolutely well-suited for a procedure before they recommend it, and you receive very thorough sets of information at every step of the process. Some facts about me: I had terrible vision (-7.0), but have been wearing contacts for 15 years. I was never really bothered by wearing contacts, and I mostly forgot I was wearing them. Lasik wasn't on my radar, until my new health insurance offered a discount and I decided to go in for a consultation. I will never look back - best decision I've made this year! My favorite thing about them is during every meeting with each new professional, they would start out by asking, "What questions do you have?" Which made me feel safe, secure, and heard. You receive very detailed instructions before and after the procedure, and they were available for any and all questions. Some other pros of LasikPlus generally - you can get a lifetime guarantee, where the amount you pay covers all future visits and more laser correction (if you physically qualify) should you need it in the future. I love the fact that if I ever had a problem, I could go in and not pay a co-pay. Biggest mistake of my life. Following a PRK surgery for my right eye in 2014, I had numerous complications, including severe dry eye and floaters (just in the rt eye). However, I would be remiss if I didn't share the patient care I received from Optometrist Cleary; the disinterest in my complications and lack of compassion was disheartening. At one point, when asking for help or advice regarding my blurry near vision, he coldly replied "Yeah, we took that away." Even the surgeon Awad, when describing the floaters, smiled when stating that surgery wouldn't have caused them and continued that most people complain about dry eye. When I shared that I also have dry eye since surgery, he said I should see my regular eye doctor. Since 2014, I have met with 7 eye specialists, have had a Vitrectomy on the right eye for floaters developed shortly after surgery, and have been on numerous medications as well as IPL treatments. By far the most significant complication, and the risk that many of the doctors stated patients should be made more aware of, is severe dry eye. The dry eye symptoms developed immediately after surgery, fluctuate from irritating to disabling (imagine grit or a hair in your eye with no relief), and are predicted to worsen as I age. Severe dry-eye can have dramatic life changing repercussions. As a layman, reading the word dry eye among a lengthy list of possible side effects, carries the same weight of concern as the word back pain. But as we know, they both can range from insignificant to life changing. My symptoms can escalate to an intensity that makes it almost impossible to open my eyes much less engage in any work that requires a degree of vision. I'm sure you agree that it is the doctors' responsibility not only to provide treatments, but to counsel patients on options and risks. Please practice due diligence and do your homework. I had a good experience using LasikPlus for my laser surgery. That being said, I think there are a couple things to note that may help people decide which doctor to see. And for the record, I did visit a few doctors before deciding on LasikPlus. I would say the number one difference I felt at LasikPlus is its pretty clear they are running their clinic as a business...which they are, and they are a public company. This has some benefits, such as more selection in lasers, they accept more insurance providers, and broader operating hours. Additionally, and I think this is a good sign, every employee I talked to had been there for 10+ years! However, you also feel more like a number and they get you through pretty fast. Plus, and I appreciate this as a sales person, they are always trying to close you. They are aggressive in scheduling surgery dates and will check in regularly with you to see if you're ready for surgery. Again, I liked this approach because if they hadn't pushed me so hard I probably would have put it off longer. The plus side to trying to close you is that they are very responsive to any inquiries and will go out of their way to find a time that works for you. And don't get me wrong, they are very pleasant and courteous at all times. Surgery day was more of the same. Everyone is super nice and helpful, but you get there...they check your eyes...you talk to the doc for about 2 minutes...they talk you through your after care...and before you know it your under the laser, done, and out. Again, I liked this efficiency, but if you are the kind of person who wants their hand held and talked through the whole procedure, LasikPlus may not be for you. Long story long: LasikPlus provides fast and efficient (although not necessarily cheaper) laser correction surgery. But they do run it as a business. So expect people to try to close you, follow up calls, prompt attention, and a very fast surgery day experience! Side note: I participated in a study which reduced my cost to $1500 for both eyes (from about $4000). Each eye was done with a different laser and you have to have 2 follow up appointments. The lasers do the same thing, just different brands. So far everything has been great and my vision is better than 20/20! Moral of the story, if you are looking for ways to reduce your expense, ask if they have a study going on. (At any provider not just LasikPlus) Side note: The one thing I found a little odd in checking out different surgery centers is the amount of time you had to leave your contacts out before your initial exam. Contacts push your eyes down, so you have to take them out for a period of time so the doctor can measure your eye correctly. Some places were 1 week, some were 2 weeks, but LasikPlus was only 3 days. Not sure what to make of that, but it was definitely more convenient. read more

So I'm not an easy patient and I AM a little squeamish, but when I found out I could pay pretax for this through work, and not have glasses anymore, I decided to really look into it more seriously. I went to a three different places (Joffe, which is a subsidiary of LP), Whiting and then LP. LP was the friendliest, and made me feel the most comfortable. I liked that everyone I spoke with had personal experience with the surgery, and the price was right (nobody else offered me a lifetime plan, and at my age that's handy. If I were in my late 50s maybe not?). On day of surgery everyone was very friendly and made SURE I really understood the instructions and aftercare. I had to go to the Maple Grove location for my first follow up due to a scheduling error but that worked out ok for me, I just would have liked to be informed sooner, I'm sure they knew well before they told me. Writing this on day one, I am very comfortable, it's going to get better and better. The vision is a little more hazy than I was told to expect but the checkup was great! I just had my procedure done this morning and couldn't be happier!! The entire staff is very friendly and personable. I had my consultation and follow up at the Edina location and the procedure at the Oakdale location. What I love the best is that every single person I encountered, regardless of the location, was friendly, personable, and just plain fun to be around. It made the semi-nerveracking experience so much easier. Dr Heuer, known for giving hugs, really did great. she explained everything that was happening during the procedure and was just absolutely incredible. I have only had my consultation and will update after my actual surgery next week. You can tell that this is a business, but they are fast, efficient and they answered all of my questions. They were able to get me in for a consult appointment right away and had a good amount of options for my actual surgery. I picked them because it was where my sister went years ago with great results. I got there and was really confused where to go once I got into the lobby. NOTE: they are on the 4th floor. This put me behind a few minutes. Once I made it to the office they didn't skip a beat, I was checked in and started watching the information video. Then they measured my eyes and it was off to another room where a DR confirmed the info from the technician. It took about 90mins... I scheduled a surgery time for 2 weeks out and I am pretty excited. The actual surgery will be in the Oakdale, MN office. I will update once I am done. read more

Everything was great the staff was so helpful answered all my questions . Price was incredible, Dr. Omar did a great job was a very fast procedure. Only thing that sucked was after surgery when the numbing drops wore off, my eyes were stinging so bad my anxiety acted up lol but as soon as I took my 3-4 hour nap everything was great my vision was already getting better it was incredible! Unfortunately, I was planning on getting my lasik eye surgery here; however, cancelled it. I was quoted a price when I went to my consultation. I had to reschedule my appointment because I found out I had to travel for business. However, because I rescheduled a week out, my price went up by $1,000 because the price they quoted me was only if had my surgery that week? What the......? Seems like I was being sold a car and not a SURGERY ON MY EYES. Wow - absolutely amazing. Service, personalities, ease of surgery (although I won't lie...it is a bit painful during the surgery from them keeping your eye open and after too because of the actual surgery but definitely take both the Valium and a nap and you'll be fine). Only one eye actually hurt afterwards but the 5+ hour nap took care of it. I could see right away. The next day (today), I can see clearly and I'm not having any issues that they said I might experience. No light sensitivity, no dryness or watering, no haziness or blurry vision, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this clinic. They make sure to tell you what you need to do. READ THE MATERIALS THEY GIVE YOU! They repeat the important information. They walked me through what the surgery would entail in detail before the procedure and during it step by step. They were super good at telling me what I'd see or feel and how much time was left. You should've seen me on the Valium - they were running a bit behind. I couldn't feel it working but knew it was when a Reader's Digest article got me laughing so hard I tried stopping and it only got worse so I ended up with tears running down my face from continuing to laugh so hard. Best experience ever!! This was the second time I've had LASIK - this time, my other eye. I recommend this location to anyone and everyone. The staff is phenomenal. They won't B.S. you as to what to expect during and after surgery. We were there after hours because we drove all the way up from Rochester (yes, medical capital of the world) and we were a bit behind. They weren't even the slightest bit irritated that we were late, OR that they had to stay after closing. One employee (Al) stayed with us until the shuttle arrived, and even helped us get in the shuttle!! They've worked around my schedule, making it super easy for me to make it to my follow up appointments. We also very much so enjoyed working with Becky (amazing personality), Rian (well educated and super helpful), and Dave (very friendly... And he made my husband feel good by laughing at his "funny" jokes). I had my surgery at this location over 5 years ago. So I didn't have as many options as you have now. I remember it being one of the most advanced eye exams I had ever had. It makes sense since they are mapping your pupil and testing for cornea thickness. They gave me the tour of the fancy high tech surgery room which is not the one they use. Nice trick to justify the cost. I remember it being expensive but it did come with a lifetime warranty in which they would zap me again if my eyesight ever became unsatisfactory. Procedure day came and I was driven to the location by someone else. I was put into a small room and a few different kinds of drops were put into my eyes. The second one burned slightly but not too bad and I sat there for maybe 5 minutes. They then brought me into the central room which contained a few of their lasik machines and other equipment. It was dark and seemed less techie and clean as the room they had shown me in the tour but it's the laser machine that counts. They had properly prepared me for the fact that the cutting and lifting of the flap was going to take out my sight for a few seconds. Then you stare at the laser dot and it becomes clearer and clearer but not perfect yet. They did not prepare me for the smell which was the most shocking part of the experience. It smells like burning hair which makes sense as they are smoothing out your cornea. They then flip the flap back some more drops and the same procedure on the other eye. My left eye took less than 10 secs. My right eye took double that. You have to sit there in the dark room with your eyes closed for some amount of time then put on shades and get a ride home. They tell you to take a four hour nap but it was a weekend so I had my eyes closed for four hours while jamming to tunes and people bringing me beers. The next morning I could see pretty clearly. My left eye was near perfect but my right eye was still slightly blurry. But it was no worse than slightly grungy contacts. I went in for my follow-up checkup at the proper time and still had some cornea swelling in my right eye. It took nearly a month for that eye to clear up completely. The extended zap really did take some time to recover. Absolutely no problems since and I consider it the best decision I've ever made in my life. read more

I have actually had a lot of issues. First let me point out I know of about 5 people who have gone there and have had no issues. They got lasik and never looked back. This response is for the few of us who have issues. In my opinion, if everything goes well, they are awesome. If it doesn't go well, run! About a year after mine was done, I was having a lot of issues with my eyes. I went in and they said everything was ok. I knew it wasn't so I went to an eye doctor-one I had seen before I received lasik. He indicated to me they took the astigmatism out of one eye and put in in the other-he also told me there was no way my eyes were 20/20 and I was going to need glasses soon (fyi he was right). I went back to lasik plus and they denied I was having issues so they refused to do anything. Originally when I went in for lasik, I purchased the lifetime guarantee policy. I told them I always needed a new prescription every 15 months and I was worried I would get lasik and in 15 months it would be gone. They indicated to me that with lasik, that would not happen and my eyes should stop changing. But they indicated they would not do lasik on me, or anyone, if they couldn't go back in three more times. So I paid extra and bought the warranty (hundreds of dollars extra). When I started having issues, I asked more questions about the guarantee policy. Turns out they would not do lasik again on me until I was over 40 and my eyes were really bad-like as bad when I first went in. Also, you have to pay for every follow up visit. $150 and even then there is no guarantee you will be a candidate again (remember they said they would only perform the surgery if they could go in three more times but now I know that is not true). Also, to get an appointment, takes like 6 weeks (if you are new you can get in all day long but if you are having issues, they don't want to deal with you). I give it two stars because for 12 months, it worked. But it was a very expensive 12 months... read more
