Usually this is the bees knees. Prices are great. The service is usually great. However, when I reviewed the prices we were overcharged $2. No big deal right. So I pointed it out and the woman at the counter was very respectful and apologetic she also gave me $2 in return. But then the owner came out and said "we can just give you your money back" we then said "no, we just noticed there were charges different than the menu" then I jokingly said "but we don't mind having a free breakfast!" hehe! Then he went on to say "no I'm saying we can give you all your money back and you can have a good week" ????HUH??? Extremely surprised and shocked. He seemed very frustrated that I wanted to have the correct pricing on my food. Very odd experience. We enjoy Bagel Deli but man, that experience really does not make me want to come back. My wife and I are spending a couple of days visiting Redding. Our goal is to eat no chains on our travels. Yelp pointed me to Bagel Deli and we were not disappointed. I have had many bagels and this was possibly the best I have ever had. We had the lox bagel and the lox, onions, capers and cream cheese were perfect. Best Bagels in town. Love the variety and flavors. Breakfast or lunch sweet, savory or spicy can't really go wrong with your choice. Love the jalapeño bagel extra spicy vs most places. Very excited about this place because the photos and reviews were very misleading. We ordered the veggie bagel with tomato avocado sprouts and cream cheese on an onion bagel to go. When we opened it up the so called sprouts looked more like clovers. The cucumbers were papering and wilted. Taste was very disappointing. Taste like store bagels old at that very heavy. And the Clover sprouts or what ever they are supposed to be taste and looked like he stepped out back and grabbed some lawn from the ground and threw it on. I stopped in here this morning to try these bagels. These are no real bagel shops in Red Bluff, so here I am 30 miles away for bagels, no really I was in the area anyways and I'm not driving 30 miles just for bagels! Prices are about $1.00 to $1.25 per bagel depending on the type. I just got 6 since I don't think I need a whole dozen just for me. I found the bagels not quite as dense as a big city bagel, but more breadish, but not full of air like the Costco bagels for 1/2 the price. I think these are still boiled and baked though. I liked the everything bagels as well as the poppy seed. Gone are the days of the under a dollar bagel, just like the $5.00 burrito, gone. They have a variety of bagel sandwiches here, but those just aren't my thing. I just want either butter on my toasted bagel or regular cream cheese. I suppose I'd stop in here again for bagels if I was in the area. read more

I called in the morning of just after they opened, needing a large order of bagels by 8 a.m. Marc got right on it, and put together a wonderful assortment of bagels and spreads, along with all the extras! I arrived to pick it up and it was all pre-packaged, ready to go! On top of that, when we got to chatting and he found out I was taking them to a large presentation, he went in the back and brought out two decorative trays that he put in my package so I could arrange and present them nicely. We wanted whole wheat, which Marc made for us, and suggested adding oats to hold them together better and add more good ingredients. We also purchased the cinnamon raison with nuts - and wow, those are good. We We ordered 2 dozen "to go" to take home to Ashland, and we're glad we did. We only find "east coast" bagels on the east coast ... we go with a large, empty suitcase and bring bag dozens! With COVID, we're deeply missing our fav's (egg, rye and pumpernickel). Found this place on Yelp while passing through from San Fran to Oregon. The location is right off the highway and easy to get to. Ample parking. I got a garden bagel on a cheddar bagel. It was absolutely delicious. The bagels are light and delicious. The toppings (lettuce, avocado, lettuce) were fresh and crisp. My husband got a breakfast sandwich on the blueberry bagel.
