John spent a few hours inspecting our home literally from top to bottom, inside and out. John takes pride in his work and it shows. He is very thorough, knowledgeable, and efficient. He is also very personable and made us feel comfortable. During our inspection John took time to explain everything he found and answer our questions in terms that we could easily understand. Within hours after the completion of our inspection John emailed us a letter summarizing the problems he had found as well as a full detailed report. The report included photos, notes, and his repair recommendations. It was very organized and easy to follow. Unfortunately, John did find a major issue with the home in which we requested the seller to fix. On short notice John was able to come out and do a second inspection on the work the seller had completed. My realtor suggested we go with John Lasswell for our shortsale home purchase inspection. The house hadn't been lived in for 2 years and so having all the right things inspected was of paramount importance to me and my wife. John and I spoke on the phone prior to the inspection and he answered some questions I had about the inspection and recommended that I shadow him the entire time (if I wanted to). John arrived just prior to the time we set and got started on the roof inspection while we waited for the power and water companies to turn those services on (again, shortsale, so those were off). John recently inspected the home we're in the process of buying. I've only been through one other home inspection--so I don't have many data points to draw upon--but John was very friendly and professional, and he seemed very thorough. By the end of his inspection--over 90 minutes worth on a 1,200 sq. ft. house--I felt comfortable that he had carefully gone through the house top to bottom, inside and out. He talked us through all of the issues he found, and his written report was very clear in documenting his findings and recommendations. What's more, John's work seems to have passed the "sniff test" with flying colors. After John's inspection, we had a couple of electricians bid on repair work. You know what they say: "He who protests the most often ends up looking guilty." John performed a great, professional inspection of our first home, a 60 year old mostly well-maintained house.
