My wife LOVES THIS STORE SO MUCH. For me, it's just okay. For men, you will be able to find a couple of good t-shirts here and there. The dress clothes are of lower quality and not slim enough for me. Whatever you buy, you have to examine it 10 times.. there are often rips or stains that you won't notice right away. Women shoes seems to be where it's at. My wife finds the good ones and they are in pretty good shape, but it definitely takes time to shop through it all. For men, most of the shoes are worn down pretty well, no bueno. People can be savage here. Some top notch shoppers know what they're looking for, so don't get in the way. Sometimes the workers block off an aisle as they're restocking. When this happens, a line usually forms, and it's always fun to watch the excitement on people's faces when they get to run in there. read more

Oh what can I say about Last Chance? It was recommended to me by a friend who said it's kinda like a thrift store but if you get lucky you might find some Dolce and Golbana boots for cheap. I was sold. I decided to bring my mother and within minutes of walking in- it reminded me of a place where Nordstrom rack clothes come to die. It was a bit depressing and as I strolled down the aisles looking for discount designer items, sometimes my gaze would catch eyes with a fellow stranger and we would embarrassingly look down on the floor knowing we had succumbed to a shabby basement in the possible chance we might score a rag and bone shirt for $15. Then my dog peed in the middle of deparment store and I lost my mother somewhere between the boots and the dresses section. I was so disgruntled I left without anything but my mom scored with some leggings! Although I did convince her that a $12 Kyle and Kendall watch just wasn't worth it. read more

What can I say about this place..... I have mixed feelings but mostly I have positive things to say about it. You will find bargains but it will take time. Nothing is organized. Clothes/shoes everywhere. You MUST have patience. If you dont this isnt the place for you. I have found Tory Burch/UGG/Cole Haan/Sorel & P448 shoes to name a few. All at about 75% off retail. Most items are USED so you must check for holes/rips/missing buttons/stains etc.... ALL ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE. You have to be 1000% sure you want the item or else you will be stuck. There are times that you buy something and later you realize there was an issue, due to not looking inside wrapped packages or lack of checking your purchase out. I have recently moved to western suburbs of Chicago from California. I'd been told there are two malls near me Oakbrook and Yorktown. I've checked both out and experienced a lot of arrogance shopping at Oakbrook Center. Please check out Yorktown center where all the employees and stores are friendly and nice. I've started shopping at the Last Chance store which is affiliated with Nordstrom Department stores and love Shopping there. Had a small issue with a purchase that I had and Ms. Ebony one of the store managers helped me. She could not have been more reasonable and professional. I come here a lot on my days off to see what treasures I can find. But my gosh this place is a hot mess. The shoe collection is definitely my go to. The clothes section is a huge task to go through. The store isn't organized during weekends because of how much customers come in and out. The shoes are sometimes placed in wrong places so MAKE SURE you check the sizes on everything. You can't return items. I found Jeffrey Campbell heels for $12 (50% off). And I found All Saints clothes for $20. It's always hard to find a bunch of stuff here because you have to keep digging. Everyday is different. So coming here a lot sucks. But it also makes you excited to see what you can find! I saw Prada less than $200 and balenciaga boots for $135. read more

Can you find great deals? Yes! Will it take you hours and hours? Yes! Will it be worth it? It can be! What else can you expect while shopping here? Expect your fellow shoppers to be rude. They will block isles with their carts, and reach over and grab things from right in front of you. Expect to see 'gangs of shoppers' working together to get the best items. They often just grab everything that looks good, fill their carts up, then get together and sort through to see who wants what. Expect to protect anything in your cart that might look good to someone else. (I once had a man stalk my cart for a good while because I had a pair of Vans in it. He already has a cart full of Nike, Converse, and Vans. He freaked me out, so I put them back on the shelf and left) I also had a couple items taken from my cart while I was in the dressing room. Expect to stand in a line (and be ordered around by employees) while items are restocked. I have not stood in one of those likes, but I did see a lady reach through a shoe rack to grab a pair of shoes while that isle was roped off and being restocked. All while they had people standing in a line several feet away. Expect to watch your belongings! Expect long lines for the checkout, especially on days that items are marked 80% off. The employees do an excellent job keeping the line moving, but it can be long. When a certain colored tag is being sold at an additional discount it is not automatically discounted when the cashier scans it. Watch carefully to make sure they manually enter the discount. They do a pretty good job, but they get busy and can forget. In my opinion, the 'shopping gangs' are getting bigger, more aggressive, and rude. The managers know them by name and do nothing about them. No deals are worth feeling uneasy and unsafe. I won't be back until management takes charge of this place and enforces their own rules. read more

Last Chance is really what you make of it. It's the end of the line for Nordstrom but I've found some really great things here. I pretty much refuse to pay full price for Free People and Topshop now because I know I can come here and get something for a fraction of the cost. You have to be SUPER careful to try everything on and look it over because I've gotten home and realized there's a hole or stain on something and everything is final sale. In addition to that, the discounts really bring some crazies to the store. I've had women with carts overflowing with discount Uggs nearly run me over in the aisle on more than one occasion. I've actually heard them make announcements to be respectful of fellow shoppers. A lot of the photos for this are of various Nordstrom Racks. Do not be fooled, it looks like a thrift store. Definitely make a trip if you're willing to search for a great piece for a huge discount! And pay attention to the deal of the day on the board when you walk in! Overall I gave three stars because while the price is great, it's an ordeal to find something you love and the other shoppers are often less than pleasant! Also PLEASE bring back the carts with the bar for hangers it makes shopping so much easier and they take up less room- aka less likely to be run down by fellow shoppers!!! read more

I was there the first day they reopened after the Covid-19 shutdown and all I can say is they were NOT PREPARED to reopen and should be ashamed of themselves, the place is a madhouse! SOCIAL distancing does NOT exist in this store (this includes both customers and employees). I suggest staying away unless you want to catch the virus!!! Also, I suspect that they either shut off their a/c or their heater is still kicked on from before they closed down, judging by the temperature in the store. Last thing I'll say is that as someone who has frequented this store and couldn't wait for it to re-open, I regret going and probably won't be going back until I feel it's safe to do so. Horrible. The people that shop there are absolute vulchers, hoarders/amateur resellers that rip through clothes with zero manners. Merchandise is all broken down, reject crap. The store is filthy, an accident waiting to happen, hangers and clothes thrown all over the floor, ignorant people blocking the aisles, kids running rampant, resellers hoarding stuff, just grabbing to purposely block others. It's like Tj Maxx or Ross. They have a bunch of random things that you'll never find in stock next time you go back so if you really want a certain merchandise, you better buy it. The women's section has a huge selection like most places. The men's section is okay but they do have a section for suits which is good. Majority of their merchandise are name brand so you'll find the prices to be less than high end department store prices but more than stores like Marshalls. As soon as you walk in, you can tell it's all about business. No crazy advertisements or store decor to keep you distracted. No frills. Just look at the merchandise, buy, and leave. read more

It's definitely a bit of a treasure hunt and all sales are final, but if you're into that, you can definitely find SOMETHING you'll love here. I only get to visit once a year or so when I'm in town visiting a friend, if I lived nearby, I could see visiting more often. If you like Nordstrom Rack (and a bargain), you'll probably like this, if you don't, you won't. An adventure for people who love finding a deal! I could spend hours here looking at all the shoes, dresses and tops. You definitely need to check over the items you pick out for any flaws, stains or imperfections. Some great brands and pieces at good prices! They have special tag discounts so be sure to check if different tags are on sale for the day. I've found Free People tops for $5, dresses new with tags for $7-15. My girl friend was really excited to take me on my first shopping experience here. She had warned me about the no frills, zero advertisement, and pure chaos that is Last Chance. She gave plenty of warning on how I need to examine and try on the products that I want to purchase. Being what I believe to be a very well informed shopper, I dismissed her advisement. I mean come on. I was born to shop! There is more than enough product on the floor and it is very easy to spend an hour or two coming through the racks. The staff does their very best to take off an area when they are reorganizing and restocking merchandise, which I can totally respect. I found a beautiful super soft sweater and did quick eye inspection to make sure there weren't any holes. At $8 for a name brand, it was quite a steal. Check out was fast and even though it was a long line, the team behind the register know how to move the line a long. Anyway, when I got home, I ripped off the tag and threw out the receipt, popped my awesome new sweater in the wash. A few days later, I wore my new sweater out, and my husband points out to me that I am missing a part of the sleeve! I had a true Theo Cosby "A Shirt Story" moment. My husband still laughs about my sweater every time he sees it. read more

Last Chance - I bought this sweater at Last Chance for $8.00 - Department Stores Near Me - Lombard, Illinois

Like many others who have given reviews, I have a love-hate relationship with this store. I have been shopping at Last Chance since they opened back in October 2016, and I go frequently being that I only live about 8 minutes away. There are several things I have to say about this place, so here it goes! 1. Last Chance is great for finding Nordstrom merchandise at a very very discounted price. Shoes, clothing, home goods, purses, and accessories. I have gotten many amazing items from Free People, Rebecca Minkoff, Addidas, Zella, and Quay Australia sunglasses. 2. Some things may be damaged (beware of holes) so definitely make sure you check everything twice before making a purchase. 3. I have been a customer since they first opened in October and I can definitely say that the selection of merchandise has really declined, unfortunately. I have gone very frequently and have tried going at different times of day as well (they restock throughout the day) and have not been finding the kind of things that I had found previously. 4. Resellers really ruin everything. There are people that go into this store every single day with the mission to snag every designer item that they can upsell on eBay. For example, there is a mom with two daughters that is there every single morning when the doors open. They RUN through the doors and grab everything they can that they can resell. Within the first 3 minutes of the store being open, those three already have hundreds of dollars of designer merchandise loaded in their carts. The store says that they enforce a no reselling policy, but it is very obvious that this group is just reselling everything and the store associates decide to turn a blind eye. 5. Employees get the first pick on everything, which is expected since they do work there. However, I have heard multiple employees talking to one another in the store about all of the things they have gotten their hands on and have resold. Between the customers reselling and the employees getting first choice (and reselling), the store has gotten incredibly picked over! 6. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING!!! I had to leave the store and use a mall restroom because each stall had something in it that made it unsanitary (feces on the wall and floor, used feminine products on the floor). 7. The photos on here are not photos of Last Chance, but photos of a Nordstrom Rack store, which looks nothing like LC. Last Chance is a semi-messy, unorganized, basement-like space with racks on racks of clothing and the pictures on here make it look way different than it actually is since the photos aren't even Last Chance!! This is really the type of place you need to check out for yourself and develop your own opinion. Definitely worth at least one visit! read more

This place has some amazing things! I have done a lot of shopping in here and could never look at Nordstrom the same way. I refuse to pay full price on things now. I always find things that I don't even need in here(that is truly a problem!) If you are a patient shopper and willing to dig in the racks you will find some great stuff!! I'm loving this high end thrift kind of store. A little more expensive then your average thrift but these are higher end brands and you can find some great deals you just have to choose and look very wisely! read more

I try not to review any of the places I shop at because I'm selfish and want all the deals but since I'm trying to give up LC here goes. First of all, I've probably been here 10 times more than any other reviewer here. Let me say 99% of the people shopping in that store are resellers. Don't be fooled by the moms with strollers, guys in sweats, and any obvious foreigners or tourists. They're resellers...all of them. I've met people from Arizona & California flying out here to buy in bulk and sell back home. Not flying out here to meet family and take advantage and shop, no flying out here specifically to stock up on inventory for their eBay stores. I seem to be the lone 1% actually looking for designer deals for myself and these resellers have not made it easy. It's not even that their resellers, it's that they treat everything like it's the last glass of water in the Sahara desert. Expect to be pushed, have things snatched out of your hand, stolen out of your cart and be involved in drama. If you go more than once a week and find anything good, expect to be a target of some crazy plot by resellers to get u kicked out. I've seen women fighting over UGGs, people threatening to take things outside, hair pulling, and was actually shoved into a shoe unit once and started to bleed. Yes, it's that serious. Some of the resellers have been kicked out for their antics but they just send shills in their place. One girl who got kicked out even came back a few times in a wig. Is the craziness sinking in yet? When the store first opened, there were so many good deals. I've purchased a Fendi Peekabo, Chloe Marcie, Louboutins, and Valentino Rockstuds here all for dirt cheap prices. It was every fashionista's dream. The store had tons of backstock and good inventory was coming out left and right. Those days are gone and now there may be only one good thing and at least you and 20 other resellers hoping to find it first. Plus, prices have gone up more than 50% in an attempt to deter resellers but that didn't work. The last straw for me was when I went in looking for bed sheets recently. Resellers are so desperate now that designer stuff is barely coming out that they're buying anything and everything. When I can't even be in the bedding section without experiencing the craziness then things have gone too far. I've found too many amazing deals to ever fully give this place up but if you're looking for high end things like me, this store just isn't worth the drama anymore. read more

Agreed with what other reviewers have said in regards to resellers taking over this place. It's a shame because there doesn't appear to be any rules or limitations placed on what they buy, so it seems a lot of the true steals and finds are snatched up before regular shoppers even find them. There were basically no designer items when I was there. I wish Nordstrom would place some rules on the resellers- sort of ruins it for actual shoppers. Additionally, people truly will try and take things out of your cart- so you have to watch your items basically at all times. I am a frequent bargain shopper and I've been to Goodwills with better quality finds. Some of the items (especially shoes) are in really bad shape. Many are pre-worn or scuffed and stained. I really wouldn't bother with the shoes again. I found defects in just about every pair I picked up. That all being said, the staff is quite friendly and there are some gems to be found. I would say plan to spend at least an hour or two, bring snacks, and watch your stuff. If you're not a big digger, don't bother. read more

Drove to Lombard today and was excited to see what i would find. I liked the items I purchased but be forewarned. It is a HUGE mess. It is slightly organized- women, men, children. And then each section has very general organization (dresses, bottoms, shirts, etc.) It was jammed packed, some shoppers had no manners and actually began to look through my cart. Be patient. I would say somewhat hit or miss. You have to look - but there are some deals to be had. Some stuff is just downright ridiculous (overpriced). I found a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses for $15. I thought that was a pretty good deal. They were fashionable and in great shape. However, there were other, designer pairs for close to $100 and I didn't find that to be a deal (designer or not). Overall, I just didn't think it was as good as a TJ Maxx or Marshalls where you get name brand, quality merchandise for rock-bottom prices. I have been shopping here since it first opened. The people who work there are really nice. There are signs hanging that say no reselling, and there is a message over the speakers that say quantities can be limited. But the same people everyday grab a ton of the same item, and they are resellers. No one needs 10 blankets at the same time. They also have allowed people who are in line shopping there everyday and are resellers, to have family members work there. It just doesn't seem like the system is fair. I know a few workers have gotten fired for telling people where they have hidden merchandise thru out the store. It should be easy to not have one person take 3 Canada Goose, or two Burberry items on the same day. You can find great deals, but prices have definitely gone up. read more

This place yeah it's full of okay prices. But no where in this retail space is a sign that says you can't grab from the rack when they are putting things back on the floor. My mother who is handicapped almost fell because of one of these associates tried to push the rack away from her, for a shirt my mother really liked. And then I had to deal with the rude manager or supervisor, who followed me around the store and had the audacity to tell me that the associate complained that we were chasing her LMAO. Word of advice: PUT SIGNS SOMEWHERE THAT PEOPLE CANNOT GRAB ITEMS FROM THE RACKS WHILE THEY ARE ON THE SALES FLOOR! And do customers a favor and hire people that love retail and not gossip on the floor about other coworkers next to the columns and in between the shoe racks. read more

Apparently there are only two of these in the country at present so I had to check it out since I was nearby anyway. It looks like a giant church bizarre or goodwill store with the usual sprawling 90% women's stuff and a few racks of stuff for guys in the far back corner. Welcome to our world ladies. It's by no means as pristine and orderly as a Nordstrom our Nordstrom Rack, but in think that it's partly by design so that one feels like they are "rummaging for treasure." And let me tell you, rummage you must, at least for the guys to find anything halfway decent. That said, there are treasures to be found. All items I saw were sold " as is" and not returnable. You haul away your treasure and that's it! Fair enough as the prices are steeply discounted to already discounted Nordstrom Rack prices. You MUST check your garment carefully before purchase as some are damaged, stained, look pre-worn and returned. The lighting is a littlr dim in the store but quite bright in the dressing rooms do best to do your thorough examination there. Happy hunting! read more

I love this place. Every time I come here I leave with items I would usually not pay full price for -- Vince, Rag and Bone, Veronica Beard, etc. The trick is to go frequently and plan to spend 2-3 hours looking and trying things on. If you do not like to shop, do not come here. If you don't understand higher end clothing and brands then you will probably get frustrated looking through all the overstock tees. For shoppers who know their stuff and love getting a deal on high end basics and unique one of a kind items, this is the place. read more

The one reason I am going to give Last Chance a five star rating is because of the following. 1. I love to shop 2. I love good deals 3. I am PATIENT If you are all of these things, this is the store for you. If you are some of these things, you might be OK! If you are none of these things, run the other way as fast as you can & do NOT look back because you WILL get overwhelmed, someone WILL upset you for cutting you off on a clothing rack and you will leave wanting to give them a negative one star rating. Ultimate favorite store. It's like a goodwill of Nordstrom. You'll need to dig through bins but it's worth it!!

I've only been here twice and never during the weekend, and both times I visited (a Friday afternoon and a Monday holiday afternoon) my experience was stress-free - almost empty, easy to browse. You can't treat this store like other discount retailers and expect to find anything of value - you must look through every single item, in every single section, and inspect every square millimeter of it. This is time consuming and I have to spend several hours in the store to make my trip worthwhile. In my opinion (and my husband's), the men's section doesn't really have much going on, but I do know a man who has gone often and has gotten great things. My favorite items purchased so far have been an adorable Barbour waxed cotton jacket for $86, 7 for All Mankind Jeans (with the tag still on, retail was $190) for $7.50 (was $30) after they announced 75% off pants in my size for the day, a white Ugg throw with tags for $15 (originally $100), a wool Theory sweater for $13, and other assorted tops, with tags, for around $3-12. I also purchased a couple moscow mule copper mugs for $4-something. Everything I purchased was in perfect, new condition, and I do tend to mostly pick things that have the original manufacturer's tags. The shoe section disturbs me so I look a little but generally steer clear. In general, some items are ripped and/or dirty, but most items are in new or near-new condition. There is a bit of overlap between here and Nordstrom Rack, so you can easily tell what is overstock. Employees have always been friendly. There is a lot of constant restocking going on, so expect to see aisles closed and blocked on occasion. This store satisfies the discount shopper in me, which is really the only shopper in me. I went to the opening today and it was very overwhelming. Because the resellers from the Arizona store had flown in for this event and had taken the first pick of everything good, I felt disappointed with the remaining selection. Basically this store is Black Friday. If you see something just grab it and think about it later. I went through the bins of bags first, but didn't see any Chloe, Celine, or any other high end ones that I saw people holding onto. So onto shoes where you really had to look at the condition of the shoes as they were mainly worn already. I saw people with the Valentino, Gucci, Louboutins, etc, but of course none were left on the shelves. So I went to bags and the kids sections and while they were replenishing the bins, you could see that people have lost their minds. There was pushing and shoving. I even saw some lady snatch a pair of kids shoes right out of someone's hands. It was ridiculous. Overall the prices were great. You just need patience and to be at the right place at the right time. I will be going back, but hopefully will be a more successful adventure. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I am extremely disappointed with Nordstrom. I was refused entry into the Last Chance store in Lombard IL by ESTELE because my 9 year old son was not wearing a mask. He can not wear a mask for medical reasons. This is extremely disappointing for me and made him feel very uncomfortable and that breaks my heart. read more

I shopped there on a few occasions and noticed that the sales people were not really nice, but never addressed the personally, so I didn't really pay that much attention to their behavior. However, I asked one of the employees where would be the waiting line for the designer rack. She bluntly said " there is no line, continue shopping ". My friend and I kept shopping in the front of the store to notice people lining up. Ten minutes later their black security guard brings up a whole line of people, mostly black, that were waiting for the designer rack. I asked the security guard, who witnessed my interaction with the first sales person how was it fair for us, that waited, to be going to the back of the line, after waiting, while other people were in fact directed to the line. He shrug and really didn't say much. Talk about racism!!! So disappointed that while everyone is asking for total equality, some still don't practice it! read more

There are only two of these stores in the nation. The one in Miami closed because resellers and shoppers fighting over deals. I hope it doesn't get like that here. This like any deal is hit and miss. They put items out all the time and run sales on the discounted prices as well. High end for second hand price. If you are the type that expects everything clean and tidy this store is not for you. If you are a bargain shopper and love high end, this is your happy spot. It is an addiction to bargain shoppers "beware". read more
