Not for the casual shopper, but for the hard core bargain hunter. This is not a place to go shopping in a hurry; what you don't pay in $$, you will pay in time. The store is at least 80% for women. And when it come to shoes it may be 90% there are about  15 aisles for woman to 1-1/2 for men. This may explain why women find more and better bargains. Regardless, customers have to dig through  hundreds of items to find the great bargain, and then, inspect it carefully for damage,  since all sales are final. Merchandise here is mostly one of a kind. All brands they are sold at regular Nordstrom stores. Ideally you will find those expensive designer items that were the last in the regular stores and Nordstrom just wants to get rid of; but, be aware, many items appears to be used, & some heavily used with damage, not even worthy of a thrift store. I'm torn about rating this store; - for a woman that is a devoted bargain hunter, and due to the vast quantity of merchandise available, is a 4 star. - for a man who doesn't enjoy shopping, or the time required, is 2 stars at best. This store is like if Nordstrom and Salvation Army had a baby- lots of high end/designer finds but it's a messy treasure hunt to get to them. This store often looks like a hurricane came through certain areas, especially the shoes. But if you like to dig, there are great deals to be found! Especially if you find the color that's an extra 80% off! I tend to focus on that and have gotten lots of great items for less than $10 each. Be prepared to spend a lot of time here. You really need to look at everything but it will be well worth it. I bought a designer dress and jeans for less than $40. Great bargains can be found in the huge shoe section, I saw leather boots and Cole Hahn heels for under $30 (didn't fit me, believe me, I tried). Look carefully as a lot of the shoes have obviously been worn outside before. Make sure you look at the soles of any shoes or boots that you want to purchase. In the clothing sections I did see a lot of unlined cheaper quality clothes, so look long and hard and you will find some great bargains This store is pretty unorganized, and people tend to leave clothes anywhere, so look everywhere. Where else can you buy a long formal dress for under $20? I bought a designer dress and jeans for less than $40. Last month I was able to find cute summer tops ranging from 3 to $5 each Check out the chalkboard as soon as you enter the store as it will have the special discounts available for that day. Last time I was here they had 50% off boots, 2 for $1 hair accessories and designer leather purses from 10 to $50 period check these items out first. So the organization and cleanliness of the store is definitely 3 stars, but the deals you can get here definitely make up for that. If you are willing to to look through all the unsellable and damaged clothes, you will find some hidden gems. Last Chance is basically the returns and unsellables from Nordstrom Rack and Nordstrom. A lot of times this means things will have been used, some of which to the extent of questioning how a store could take a return back in that condition. Shopping here is also not a relaxing ordeal- especially if you show up Friday morning. Friday mornings are absolute insanity with certain designated sticker tags being 80% off their already discounted price. This results in resellers and deal hunters alike shoving past each other in the overly-crowded, narrow isles. The store also on certain days and times announced that they will bring out a new rolling rack of shoes out. The employees then proceed to announce where the line will start and when they do this, people actually turn savage. Adults who look like they haven't ran for years sprint there and everyone aggressively form a line around the whole store in seconds. The poor employees ask everyone to walk, and if that actually works everyone engages a new level of speed-walking. Once everyone is in line they succumb to heard mentality and any sudden movements result in everyone shifting/moving to make sure the line is secure. Seriously it's insane. One time I was there, a lady said something and everyone immediately started a line behind her and she wasn't even an employee. The actual employees had to show up after and inform them that there was in fact no line. In all honestly though, the deals there are worth it, especially if you want a little adrenaline rush from everyone turning into cavemen. I've gotten 2 Birkenstocks and 3 Uggs (with factory stickers still on their outsoles) from there- brand new mind you- each under $40. One of the Birkenstocks was the Boston Clog retailing for $160 and the Uggs retailing $180. I also got a pair of Frye Campus boots there for $100 (brand new), and those retail for $498. (They weren't all for me, fyi.) There are also a lot of other designer brand shoes you would find at Nordstrom. They have a small designated section at the front of the store for jewelry and the really expensive designer stuff (guarded by a security guard no less). It is definitely worth giving this store a chance, but it is necessary to keep in mind you will spend a long time there, there are no product returns, and no matter what happens you have to remember to act civil. read more

Items are $500 and over and no returns so I'm going to be longer than one minute. Most items were already returned and this is where they go. read more

I'll preface this by saying I've been to a Last Chance in another state (Arizona) and it was a great experience. I found great merchandise at the Arizona store and was excited that a store had come to Illinois. Lombard however just didn't meet the mark. Save yourself the frustration and don't even bother stepping in the store. Frankly, I've seen better merchandise and store cleanliness in thrift shops. The carpet in the shoe section was stained and frayed. The floors were filthy throughout the store. Most of the merchandise was garbage - shoes that were significantly worn - I picked up a piece of flats that had literal feet stain in them, blankets with holes and filth, and clothing that looked like it was pulled from the back of a closet thirty years ago. The true laughing point was a Tory Burch bag with broke handles and peeling leather corners marked $129.99. Employees are ignorant. They don't want to help you and it's clear they've lost control of the store itself. I watched one employee take a sweater from the floor, roll it into a ball, and place it on top of the disheveled racks. Definitely made me want to shop! But, perhaps the biggest turn off were the customers LOADING carts full of merchandise and calculating how they will resell in the aisles. The store gets way too crowded and people will literally fight you for something they "saw first" while employees standby and watch. Long story short, this store is where the excitement of retail and shopping goes to die. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and Nordstrom should be somewhat embarrassed that it's name is attached to it. I'd rather pay full retail than ever enter this establishment again. read more

This is a big thrift store for Nordstrom rack. Some days you'll find some incredible prices. My wife really enjoys coming here, the store is big and it is used to the fullest because it's a bit crowded there. I'd say about 80% of the things are for women here. I am not a huge fan of the guy section and think the stuff isn't all that for men but for women it is amazing. I can go to this mall and go around every store while my wife comes and stays in this store for the whole time because they have so many things. She loves it and I think many women will. This place is definitely something you need to spend a day doing. There are some general size sections, but I found very random sizes that are tossed in. I found some really good deals, but be careful with what you're looking for to make sure there's no damage. I would also price check online because some items are cheap, but some brands you can get a decent discount when they're on clearance. There were random lines where the staff blocked off sections and you get only 90 seconds to figure out what you want. It's very hectic and definitely recommend having a buddy or two. read more

I've been shopping here for years and usually find something nice to purchase. It does, however, take time. Sometimes I walk out empty handed. That being said, I'm sick of the increased popularity amongst resellers. People - stop buying ALL the Birkenstocks!!! I hate seeing them on Marketplace with the sticker residue. Ugh. The overhead announcement does state that employees have the right to limit quantities purchased, but I have yet to witness this. Please enforce the policy. I'm always looking forward to seeing the new items in Last Chance whenever I get anywhere near the Mall where they are located! I'm sure to spend some time there checking thoroughly though the store before I go into the dressing room because it's always an arm full of clothes that I don't need, but absolutely love that I am excited about trying on before buying, checking for flaws or missing items that perhaps will make a difference in the quality of the item. Why is it that EVERY TIME I buy something from your store, one of your associates forgets to take the sensors off? Now I have to go all the way back because your staff wasn't paying attention. I should NOT have to double check and make sure they're doing their job and desensoring. I used to do that job when I was 17 and never ever forgot to remove the sensors. i'm surprised this store only averages at 3.5 store rating. Let me tell you the real deal. If you're a real good lucky and p a t i e n t shopper, this store is for you. Let me break it down for you. Nordstrom products at super clearance prices! No returns - unless you forget to check them boots and you got two left ones (yes i did this) they will gladly take that back because they are essentially not supposed to put that even on the floor or sell it that way obviously. Yes you will find some jenky things. Like honey.. you'll find some shoes that you can definitely tell were used abused reused and returned - gross. - but just put it back! I cannot tell you all the AMAZING finds i got here. They have crazy specials every other week so you really have to consistently shop here to really reap the benefits. I think one sale it was all women's apparel was $10. I jumped on them beautiful cashmere cardigans - giiiiiirl it was insanity. They even at one point had that sale applicable to the dresses. So definitely can't wait for that sale to come back around. There was a sale on boots end of winter season last year where all boots minus the uggs were on sale for $20. Some of my amazing finds just to name a few: Aden and Anais swaddle packs for $7 Velour blankets for $6 Vince Camuto blouses for $10 High end - slimming leggings for $8 Gown for $20 Tory Burch Poncho $27 Burberry onesie $9 I seriously bought so much of my baby's outfits here! A dress that was last chance was $9 and when I went to Nordstroms - retail was $40. When I read about this place and its deals I had to come. It's like last, last chance Nordstrom. It's very bare bones, everything is no returns and quite a bit of the stuff is significantly used. This is the place where things that are returned to Nordstrom's with its generous one year no-questions-asked return policy go to die. I was really hopeful when I walked in and saw so much inventory but left two hours later with two pairs of shoes and a picture frame. There are quite a few boots in the shoe section for all sizes and labels- ugg, Clark, frye, etc. So if you're looking for leather boots or booties this could be a good place to start. The home goods selection is practically non existent, think cheap coffee mugs for Easter or Father's Day. The one positive is that you can bring 15 items into the fitting rooms, I've never seen that high a limit before. One positive area was I was genuinely impressed by the selection and quality of formal gowns- if you have a black tie wedding or ball to attend I would recommend coming here. They had some gorgeous Adrianna Papell dresses of great quality for sale, see photo. As previously recommended, MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE ITEMS VERY CLOSELY BEFORE BUYING. I almost bought a cute top that I had tried on but then just before checking out realized there was a big rip in the seam, see photo. Think of it as a thrift store exclusively stocked with Nordstrom merchandise. Be prepared and in the mood to hunt. Make sure you check each item carefully before purchasing. I tried on an awesome pair of Madewell jeans, which felt great until I tried to zip them up: no zipper pull. I put on the popular Leith dress...hole on the side. So far I've found a pair of AG Farrah jeans, new with tags, and a pair of Treasure and Bond Sannibel wedges. You will find some lower-priced items like those from their BP line as well as designers like Ted Baker. All sales are final and they do take the Nordstrom card as a form of payment. read more

This is the Nordstrom Rack, with a square cube. If this math thing doesn't make any sense to you, it's pretty much saying a discount on top of the prices you would pay at a Nordstrom Rack. Everything is final sale! No return or exchange. What do they carry? - merchandise that's slightly damaged, not in its original packing, no longer high-end or luxury-genic. However, I noticed some of the merchandise was in a good condition, but it was super expensive, such as Hunter, Longchamp, and other brands I simply skipped after seeing the tags. Their last-chance markdown prices were still well over $300. What do you expect from this store? - you should come EARLY. They open at 9:30am from Mondays to Saturdays, and 11am on Sundays. Hubby and I came in at 9:45am on a Saturday. The sales floor was totally shoppable. Shoes were paired, rubber-banded, or flex-cuffed. How was the store at 11am? Umm...it started to look somewhat messy, and the go-back racks were getting full. Yes, you can use your Nordstrom credit card to earn points. You are also allowed to try on merchandise. Fitting rooms are available. How were the customers when I was at the store? - they were definitely bargain-hunters. They were also curious! Stanchions were out at both ends of men's size 10-11 aisle because the sales associates were restocking the merchandise. At least five (5) people just mass gathered and kept on staring at the workers who were working on shoes. Ok, guys. Stanchions + employees working= area not available for shopping at this time...sorry for any inconvenience and we encourage you to head elsewhere for now. What did so find? 1) a pair of "Via Spiga" mix-media slip-on sneakers ($30): they were originally $179 when I googled for price. 2) a "Rain Forest" brand multi-functional winter coat ($80): the original price was $399. Hubby also googled like I did. 3) three (3) Nordstrom brand kids ties: they were $0.97/each!! What will I go back for? - cheap socks: these suckers are pricy in the States. - cold-weather accessories: prices weren't bad at all, yet some diligent digging is required. - winter jackets or coats: a Michael Kors' trench coat for $40? Yeah, I can live with it! - just stuff in general: doesn't hurt to pop in every once in awhile. INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MENS DEPT.!! ...makes shopping not worth it for the fellas. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND... There are occasional diamonds to be found and a visit can be worthwhile but my frustration is the lack of men's department, relegated to the very back corner. The real estate % dedicated to Men's clothes seems to shrink by several percentage points each time I visit. Seriously. The actual "Men's Department" sign now sits over yet more racks of exclusively women's clothes. I understand that Nordy does more business with women, as is reflected at the Rack as well, but that seems to be a 60/40 split. But what had been a measly 80/20 at LC is down to less than 10% of the store. We may not make up 50% of the sales but men make returns just like women. Accounting for the customer demographic, my question is this... Where does MEN'S Nordstrom B stock go, if not to Last Chance? PLEASE ADVISE. BTW, I have a suggestion. Being that tag-less items are not available for purchase, perhaps there should be a bin where customers can drop those items. Not really sure why Nordstrom risks their brand in association with this place (and would be better served if they donated most everything I saw today, especially so much used and seasons old merchandise, to charity). Overall a dirty, dumpy, smelly 'store'. Comparing it to Goodwill is a huge insult to Goodwill, and it's decades removed from any Rack I've ever been in. Ugh, just yuck. The store has a number system before the opening they give people a number and this number determines your spot in line when the store opens at 9. The "system" however is broken. One day they will start numbers at 8:30. Next day they will do it at 8:25. There is usually the same lady in charge of those numbers. She has her favorite people for whom she will wait even till 8:45 to give them the number yet at 8:32 she will not allow to give a number to other people. Finally had the rite of passage of having an item taken from my cart while it was in the designated area outside the fitting rooms. This happened while it was clearly marked with the "this cart belongs to someone" sign, and in full view of the attendant. And when I say in full view, I mean it was literally the first cart next to the attendant counter. It's difficult to feel good about the time you spend here sorting through pieces to find something you love, fits well, and not damaged only to have it literally taken behind your back. Wow, so many bad reviews. Great, don't come. Cause I think this place is amazing. You do have to know what you are looking for, like let's say a Gucci bomber jacket for under $300, which sold in the store for $6500. Yup, scored it. Is there amazing stuff every time, nope. But there is good merch every time that I have been. YES!! You have to "pick through the ick". Some items, like shoes, may have been worn. If that bothers you, move on. A good selection of quality clothes, accessories, and miscellaneous Nordstrom Rack items at low prices. Hubby got a Superman T-shirt for $3, and a 14th & Union collared shirt for $5. I bought premium loose leaf tea from a Vancouver tea shop for $0.47 per package (each package has enough loose leaf tea to make at least 15 cups). I took off one star because ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Make sure to check for snags, rips, marks, snags before checking out - a lot of the merchandise was damaged. read more

I use to love this store. I don't know what happened here. The prices have doubled within a years time and they also only look at the designers name and not the condition. Stopped by today, and there was a pair of Kate Spade shoes, that were so worn they should've been in the trash bin, not on a shelf for $80.00. This place use to be amazing, the quality of goods has gone down and the prices have become insane. $78 for a pair of Hunter boots with stains on them? You can get them new with a box at The Rack for $15 more. Also, the amount of resellers in here have made it almost impossible to score anything amazing anymore. I visited this place for the very first time yesterday and boy, you have to get out of your comfort zone. Very very aggressive shoppers around you. They won't respect your personal space and I have seen a shopper where they take an item from someone else's cart. Anyway, I had a little trouble finding where to park to get to this place but there's ample of parking as it's inside of a mall, sort of. The only thing I was actually interested in is the designer corner. I didn't even had to wait. The man who was guarding the corner let me in right away. I was disappointed as I soon check out the pieces, some of the shoes were just thrown on the floor. I've seen some pretty Manolo Blahnik's zip tied together damaging the sides of it, some Stella McCartney, Fendi, Prada and I found a white Gucci sneakers that I really wanted to purchase but it was damage and they were selling it for around $300+ which I would've bought if it was at least in good condition. The designer clothing selection wasn't that great either. It was very few. I don't know if I came on a day where shoppers already bought most of the stuff so I will probably visit on a weekday. After I'm done with the designer corner I went through the aisles of regular things on the sales floor. Everything was a chaos! Clothes on the floor, abandon carts, don't even bother with the size signs are they are all not in order. You'll find different sizes just left anywhere and there such pretty dresses. Too bad most of them were damaged. Do not get me started on the shoes. It's insane. It wasn't organized either so you really have to look in every aisle as the sizing signs does not matter. I wanted to check some clothes for my five year old son but they did not have that much stuff for boys, it's only for girls mainly so I didn't bother. It saddens me cause the store has a lot of potential but I left empty handed. I will give the store another try but like I said I will definitely come back on a weekday in the morning when they just open hoping to find the store organized and easy to shop at like a normal store would look like. When I was heading to the exit door I passed by a customer and probably one of the managers and heard that the customer was disrespected by an employee by yelling at her and the manager apologized and that's not something I would want to hear as a shopper so there's that. Last Chance just opened last week and I love this place! I have never heard of this place until I Googled it. There's only 1 other location in Phoenix and this is the 2nd store in the U.S. Last Chance is owned by Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack and sells end of season clearance and customer returns. This store is basically a high end Goodwill that sells gently used high end luxury items for a bargain price! Most of the items are sold at 80 to 90% off the original retail price. I bought 2 Hunter boots (retail $150 each) for $23 each, Minnetonka boots (retail $100) for $14, and even saw Jimmy Choos (retail around $600) for $99 and Louboutins (retail around $900+) for $140! I also saw Uggs for $60. Be prepared to take your time because like I've mentioned, this place sells gently used items so some of the items have holes, marks, scratches, etc. so it's up to you if you feel like you find the right deal and you need to take time to see if the quality is worth it. It's like a garage sale because each day has different stock. What might be there one day might not be there anymore the next day. I didn't find the Hunter boots until my 2nd visit. I looked at a pair of Louboutins and 20 min later, it wasn't there anymore. If you find a good deal, don't hesitate to buy it otherwise it might be gone! The store policy is that all sales are final and there are no returns. They sell their items "as is" which keeps the prices low. The shoe aisle is a little disorganized because the shoes are rubber banded together and you'll see shoes piled on top of one another or on the floor. I wish it was a little organized but the staff tries to keep it neat as possible. Also, be prepared to wait when the sales associate has to restock the shoe shelves. When they do that, you're not allowed to shop in that aisle until they give you the okay and you're in the clear. I was super confused when I first experienced that in person, but I googled reviews at the other store where people snatch items from others and act like vultures. I was out in Lombard today and checked this store out. It's on the lower level of Yorktown Mall and I love it! I didn't experience any of the negative things other reviewers mentioned; maybe because it was midweek, early afternoon? Not sure, but the store was not too crowded, no rude fellow shoppers, and it was neat. Everything was organized and easy to find. Yes, it's a big room in a basement that resembles a thrift store, but who cares! I scored plain and patterned tights still in the original packaging from a bin for $1 each! (Do you know how much tights usually cost? Way more than $1!!) And I got a bag of clothes for $47! (A dress, 4 tops and a pair of yoga pants...Because they have a no returns policy I tried everything on.) These are all designer items leftover from Nordstrom Rack at deeply discounted prices! The best is that I got to use my Nordstrom credit card! It's too bad (or possibly a good thing, depending on how you look at it) that I live so far from here because I'd be here all the time! But you must bring your thrifting mentality becAuse it's a high end thrift store where most of the merchandise comes from Return items of Nordstrom and Nordstrom rack. But I must say, some of the items aren't that cheap ! (According to a lot of other reviews, they have said things were dirt cheap) but when I went, I think some of the items were abit over price hence minus 1 star ! I found a Burberry bag that was $178 but it was broken and scratched (maybe cuz it was still bueberry ?) sometimes I also find it cheaper to shop at Nordstrom rack during clear the rack sale. But nonetheless it's still a fun place to have some fun and dig through to find treasures ! I will def come back when I visit Chicago again . My first comment is that overall the cashier staff is fantastic! I will edit my review later with some names of these great gals I've gotten to know over the last year from my semi frequent stop overs! Sweet and friendly is how I describe 99% of the cashiers! Next, the deals are definately there IF you have the time to dig. But don't expect any Canada Goose or similar high end branded merchandise because the morning resellers are akin to vultures, at 9:30 am! Its like watching hungry animals fighting over a week old dead carcus! And what's even more disappointing is that some of the backroom employees, stockers AND managers have some questionable relationships with these resellers and give them first dibs at all times of the day. You just have to visit a few times to see the same faces and gangs of resellers working together, some of them pushing their kiddies in strollers! But don't let the innocent stroller fool you they are out for blood! But I guess if Nordstrom chooses to look the other way to it, sadly not a lot can be done for the folks just trying to buy for themselves and families and not to support reselling careers. This store is not for everyone! do you like thrift shopping? do you understand value over price? if you answered yes to both then you will LOVE this place! This store is somewhere between a goodwill and a nordstroms rack. You will have to sort through many things and make a few rounds around but I promise its worth it! What can I say about this place..... I have mixed feelings but mostly I have positive things to say about it. You will find bargains but it will take time. Nothing is organized. Clothes/shoes everywhere. You MUST have patience. If you dont this isnt the place for you. I have found Tory Burch/UGG/Cole Haan/Sorel & P448 shoes to name a few. All at about 75% off retail. Most items are USED so you must check for holes/rips/missing buttons/stains etc.... ALL ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE. You have to be 1000% sure you want the item or else you will be stuck. This is what Nordstrom Rack use to be once upon a time ago-----overstock and returns from Nordstrom stores. Definitely have to be in the mood to hunt and conquer when you go here. There are deals to be had---but keep in mind Nordstrom has an awesome return policy----and you can definitely see it in a lot of the items. The location like most mentioned seems very sterile looking---all white/no frills---racks and racks of clothing and shoes. Bins of random accessories. Found some Jimmy Choo's and it looked like someone or something may have also decided to chew on the bottoms of the shoes---even at $60---yeah no thank you. They do have random additional percentages off of different categories and I scored a short extremely sequined dress for $17. If you have the time and the patience I'm sure this place could be a goldmine. read more

If you're patient and know what to look for, you can find absolutely insane deals. Luckily, a majority of the shoppers who come here look for the obvious brand names- but they tend to overlook lesser-known but potentially even more expensive items. I recently purchased a first-quality in-season Rails shirt that currently retails for over $135 and paid just $11 for it because it was 50% off of green tag items on the day I went. If I waited another day, it would've been marked down by 80% but I wasn't taking any chances. On the same trip I was able to score brand new, again, current season Asics running shoes for $15. Frequent shoppers here know what luck it is to find brand new shoes at a good price because people tend to abuse Nordstrom's return policy and shamelessly return them after prolonged use and those shoes often find there way to Last Chance. As many others have said, make sure you look over your items before purchasing because all sales are final. There are plenty of good deals to be had if you're patient and/if you don't mind lightly- and sometimes not so lightly worn shoes. read more
