This place is by far better than any beach in Chicago and it's worth the drive out. $15 to park and you don't have to walk too far and it's never terribly busy either. As long as you stop here early you'll be okay. They have changing rooms and concession stands as well though the food is a bit overpriced and the restrooms and changing rooms aren't the greatest but they're okay. This place is also great to go on a nice little walk too and there's plenty of people walking their dogs as well. We pulled in hot, sweaty, and a little road weary. The campsite with electric and water was very simple but provided a nice bit of shade. The pool was a perfect oasis! We enjoyed showers, did a couple loads of laundry, and restocked on some necessities in the office/store. Every detail seemed well thought out and the facilities were immaculately clean. The hospitality of the owner, employees, and fellow campers was great! We even locked our keys (with our cell phones and our dog ) in our running car and a very helpful employee was able to open it for us! Boy, was this a great experience all around!

We spent the night last night it was quite pleasant. There were a few lid and obnoxious people riding around yelling on a golf cart last night keeping everyone up. But thankfully the owners were on top of it. We took showers at the bathhouse and it was nice. They have serveral different amenities not found everywhere else and wonderful customer service. Prices are affordable. We have had a wonder time and will definitely come back. I would totally recommend!

The owners are friendly, and let us set up a large area for the tents, tables, cooking, etc. Some sites have water and electricity. There are plenty of trees, a pool, a pond, etc. Firewood and ice are available at decent prices. There seemed to be lots of families here, many with dogs, generally quiet. The kids can chase frogs, swim, play games, while the older folks talk/tell goofy stories. It's not far from Indiana Beach, places to fish, etc.

If you want to get away from all the hustle and bustle of life and relax than this is the place for you. They have fishing and paddle boats. They offer a volleyball court, basketball court and a nice playground for the kids. There is also full service grocery store not even ten minutes from here. The lady that owns the place is very sweet and kind. Her son is always happy to help and seems happy to work here.
