Worst experience of my car buying life. DO NOT RECOMMEND - Dishonest Dealership and Poor Service…read more I strongly advise staying away from this dealership. When I purchased my new car, they promised to pay off my lease in full. Later, they claimed that was never agreed upon and left me with a final bill on a car I no longer had. The extra charges were the direct result of how they handled my old vehicle -- not because of any delay on my part. Communication has been terrible. I called, emailed, and left messages for four months with no response. They still owe me $324 after failing to properly handle the payoff before selling my car. They also changed the terms after the deal was made, increasing my monthly payment by over $30/month. On top of that, my brand-new vehicle had broken safety sensors within the first two months, and they implied I caused the damage. It took weeks to repair, and the only loaner offered was a truck -- not ideal after switching from an electric vehicle. To top it off, the shade inside the car fell out shortly after purchase. This has been the worst customer service experience I've ever had with a dealership. They do not honor agreements, avoid accountability, and leave customers paying for their mistakes. I will never return here and strongly recommend that others avoid this location as well.

After I paid my deposit communication was lacking for nearly 7 weeks, even after promises were made. Since picking-up my car, I've taken the car in for servicing a defecting driver's side mirror twice, only to be ushered away without being seen by a service assistance, being made to feel stupid then angry. Upon visiting the second time even the service manager admitted it was defective and told the service assitant to order a whole new mirror. For eight days I played phone tag with the dealership, even though they knew I was a teacher and my availability. On my return messages I said when I could come for service (I live an hour away in MA). I was NEVER able to make contact to schedule the third visit to get the repair. I finally said I'm done and my last message said to cancel any future service, that I would no longer do business with the dealership. I then received a voicemail the next day.....while teaching, from the Service Manager, asking me to call him. Nope.....I'm done with New Country Lexus of Latham. I've put in writing to them that I want my 75,000 mile maintenance agreement cancelled and refunded, that if I had to pay out of pocket for my local Toyota dealership to do my servicing, then having this maintenance package was useless. I'm also considering just taking the loss and trading in the 7 month old car for the car I wanted originally (a Toyota Grand Highlander Max Platinum). I'll lose a bit in the process, but if this is how I feel after 8 months, I don't want to continue.

This review is purely for a sales department experience…read more Note- 4 stars is probably as high as I would ever ever go for a dealership and rarely do I go into one that is worth that rating. Personally I think all dealerships are a bit slimy, so you have to be a smart consumer going in otherwise you are going to get screwed. Review- We went into Latham Ford for a test drive. Initially the visit started off terribly, with the salesman scoffing at our timeline to buy, and then proceeding to tell me how I was going to go about my purchase decision. I bit his head off. He went to go get a car to drive, and when he came back he apologized. After that everything was pretty good, he was honest about the car and options he thought weren't worth the $, etc. They let us drive cars without a salesperson present, which is awesome and necessary in my opinion, that's the final jump to 3 Stars instead of two. Will I buy from Latham Ford? That depends on their ability to beat others prices, but I won't exclude them.

I told the Bot what I needed and it told me someone would call me to schedule my service. Two days later, I received a call and I got an appointment. Today, I delivered my vehicle at 7:00 for the service. I was told someone would check it out and call me. Nobody called. I called service 4 times trying to get someone to talk to me; but, all I got was the service answering machine. I tried the operator (dial 0) 3 times and it just rings and hangs up. I called sales and got a live person. I told her I've been trying to call service and nobody answers, and I even tried the operator. She said they don't have an operator. I said, "then why do you you dial 0 for the operator?" She went to get someone from service and he told me that they close in 5 minutes and nobody has looked at my truck yet. I asked, "Then why did I have an appointment?" He said, "that's an appointment to get in with the service advisor." WOW!!

We stopped in about a week or so ago to look at a vehicle…read more We were assigned a sales person. Although the assigned person was very pleasant they gave us totally incorrect information about the vehicle warranty and also regarding some of the vehicle features. We did not realize the info we received was bad until we did our own research when we arrived back home. Prior to discovering the bad info we actually put a large deposit on the vehicle. Upon discovering the bad info we were going to call off the purchase but decided to go back to the dealership a few days later to speak to a Sales Manager. We made contact with a Sales Manager by the name of Walter. In short, he was honorable and outstanding! He listened to our issues and corrected the wrong feature info we were given and, more importantly, he agreed to honor the vehicle warranty that the original sales person had told us - as incentive for us to purchase the vehicle. He also assigned us a new Sales Representative by the name of Kia Smith. Kia was absolutely SUPER fantastic! She went over every feature detail, answered all of our related questions, and actually sat in the vehicle with us to demonstrate the features. Walter's high degree of integrity and Kia's truly outgoing personality and depth of knowledge saved the vehicle sale for the dealership. These two individuals are an absolute credit to their employer and we would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from them in the future. This was our second vehicle purchase from this dealership and there will be more (but hopefully not for a while :))

The service visit took 4+ hours (I had an appointment, so not sure why it took so long) but they did not pass inspection due to a non-working parking brake. The estimate to fix the break was $1,300! I said no thank you and I would address it elsewhere. Turns out nothing was wrong with the parking break other than the cable at the lever/pivot point needed a minor adjustment. That makes my blood boil - so dishonest to try to get a ridiculous amount of money from me for such a minor issue. Shame on that tech - very shady.
