(2024) Crack of bottom of pool.
*Notice the very faded blue in this picture.

I wish I could respond with no stars! Latham does not stand by their warranty. Since the pool arrived I had to place a warranty ticket. I have two white patches, one in my pool and one in my spa. Latham sent someone out and they blamed it on the chemicals. The pool was less than a month old. Now, three years later I have cracks. Latham said it is not covered. This company is as dishonest as the pool installer. The color of my pool also faded very quickly in less than three years. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT ISSUES WITH NO RESOLUTION AND LOTS OF EXCUSES.

    Hole and stain

I need to make a frank review regarding the company Latham pools, which supplied a fiberglass pool installed in September 2024, with the misleading advertising that the pool is so strong that it can withstand gunshots. Well: in September 2024 there was already a HOLE in the gelcoat, and it took them 1 month to come and "fix" it, and the pool had to be emptied, shored up, repaired and filled again and the water treated. Winter arrived, the pool was closed, and in March, when it was reopened for bathing, THE SAME HOLE HAD RETURNED, in the same place, clearly demonstrating that it was a MANUFACTURING DEFECT. Since then, for more than 1 month, I have been trying to receive assistance from LIFETIME WARRANTY, through Sunny pools who installed and sold this pool, and directly with Latham. A TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE CONSUMER. If you want a pool to use for bathing, my sincerest suggestion: Don't buy LATHAM.

At no point in time did they contact me to do "additional work". Therefore, be very careful. They replaced a piece that did not need to be replaced on top of my filter, tossed to the side. Not once letting us know. Not once hearing from us to agree on them touching anything outside of an opening. What's more disturbing is now the piece that was replaced I am not sure can go back. Thus, forcing me to now shut off my pool filter and now not using my pool until this company resolves this blatant issue of unauthorized work and possible damage to what they replaced as irreplaceable now. Make sure you find a pool company that values their customers consent on all work done on your property. Especially because I was not even home for this lack of consumer respect. I would ALSO like to point out that the items replaced were there last year and the year before that. and NO ONE DID OUTSIDE REPAIRS UNTIL NOW. I WAS TOLD LAST YEAR AND THE YEAR BEFORE THAT EVERYTHING WAS FINE.

Before we signed a contract or put down a deposit, Carl was patient and more than willing to answer our many, many questions and walk us through the process and options. He did a drawing of what we thought we wanted and when we wanted to make a few changes he quickly did it with no problem. Carl is very knowledgeable about not only what works best but also what looks best. We put a lot of trust in him as this is our first project of this kind and we're so glad we did. We never felt rushed or pressured or that we were being an inconvenience with our questions or changes. He is also very responsive, he never left us hanging, waiting for a response when we contacted him. One of the great things about MC Pools over other builders we contacted is that they have the ability to build the pool you want so you're not forced to pick something from a catalog. You can create a custom build like we did. Another positive, in my book, is that Carl includes (pretty much) everything in the quote, giving you the full picture of what the final cost will be. Other companies give quotes but don't add the other necessary items/services such as electrical, hauling away fill, etc so you think you're paying less but end up getting hit with costs you hadn't known about until later on. Carl adds all that in up front. Plus he included some things that other companies don't such as 2 lights for the pool, 2 skimmers, a safety cover and an upgraded handrail. *One huge bonus for us was the discount they offer for first responders (my husband is a volunteer firefighter).* The build itself was smooth and followed the timeline we were promised. When Carl came for his final walk-through to make sure we were happy I could not come up with a single thing I wasn't thrilled with (that's never happened to me before ). Every detail is perfect and our pool is gorgeous, we couldn't be happier. Details about the pool: it is 16 x 37 (with the bump outs). We added a bench seat to the bump out in the deep end (see picture) and we are SO glad we did, everyone loves it. It's a place to hang out while in the deep end and such a great feature. The kids especially love it because they can swim across and have somewhere to "land". It also doubles as a step to get out of the pool. We wanted a larger shallow end since we know that's where a lot of people hang out so we adopted for an extended shallow end (16 1/2 feet). The chlorine is salt water and we chose to have a cartridge filter and added a gas heater. The coping and concrete are stamped and dyed. Another detail worth mentioning, the contractors that MC Pools works with are top notch. The concrete company, Capital Concrete of Albany, went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted and helped us design and choose options when we asked for input without being pushy. They worked through the weekend to help get our project finished as soon as possible. The electrical company was also top notch. (I can't recall the name but I'll add it when I figure it out). We are SO glad we chose MC Pools for this large project, we couldn't be happier! Thank you, Carl!

I sent him photos, and he was super responsive and professional. He came out within a day, diagnosed the issue right away, and explained everything in a way that made sense. He quickly installed the new system and even fixed a problem with my liner that I didn't know about, but could've become a big issue if he hadn't caught it. Rick made sure I fully understood how to use the new system before he left. He was also really helpful afterward while I was getting the hang of things, answering my questions and staying in touch. A few days later, he came back with the extra parts and accessories I had requested and made sure everything was running perfectly. He clearly knows his stuff - my pool has never looked better! I'm so glad I found him, and it's great knowing he's just a phone call away if anything comes up. I wouldn't go to anyone else for pool service.

I hired Rick to move a pool table from a home about 1 1/2 hours away, transport it to my house,…read morereassemble it, and install new felt. About two weeks before the move, I selected Dark Green (#32) after Rick sent us a color swatch from Championship Billiard Fabric. I also said I would confirm that color with my husband. On the morning of the move, I texted Rick to confirm that he was still able to bring the Dark Green (#32) because that was the color that we decided on. Rick replied, "Got it!" When he arrived, my husband noticed the felt package was actually Accuplay English Green, not the Dark Green (#32) we had agreed on. When I pointed this out, Rick immediately became angry and started yelling. He claimed, "You texted me this morning and that's what I had in the truck," even though he texted back the two words GOT IT when I asked if he had that Dark Green 32. He also complained that he had driven an hour and a half, despite the travel being part of the job we had hired and paid him for. Then he insisted it was "the same color, just a different company," but it clearly was not. What shocked me most was how quickly the situation escalated. In a matter of seconds, he went from a normal conversation to screaming and issuing ultimatums. His emotional self-control reminded me of a five-year-old throwing a tantrum rather than a professional contractor trying to resolve a customer concern. He then said, "Give me $1,000 (of the $1,900 we owed him) and you can get someone else to finish the job." I have never experienced such unprofessional behavior from someone providing a service. He also accused my husband of "hovering" and interfering with his work. In reality, my husband simply asked that the table be centered on the carpet. Rick himself asked if the placement looked correct, and my husband moved it about a quarter of an inch so it would be perfectly positioned. That was the extent of his involvement. At that point, I just wanted the job completed, so I reluctantly agreed to keep the felt he brought, even though it was a different brand than the color chart he showed us and, more importantly, a different color than the Dark Green (#32) we had selected two weeks earlier and confirmed again the morning of the move. Unfortunately, the problems didn't end there. In addition to installing the wrong color felt, several pocket nails were missing, the table is 1/4" out of level (even though Rick claims he levels it as he builds it), and the rubber bumpers were not aligned evenly with the wood rails. And after Rick left my husband used a rubber mallet to align the uneven bumpers. For the record, I purchased this pool table from the original owner, and I am only the second owner. The previous owner had bought this table 30 years ago new and kept it in pristine condition. Rick was the only person who disassembled it and then reassembled it. If the missing pocket nails weren't there after the installation, they went missing during the move or reassembly. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Rick. His communication, professionalism, and workmanship all fell well below my expectations. Looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to his previous negative reviews because my experience was very similar.

It was just beyond the normal pool closing season and I was having difficulty finding a company that would close the pool. I guess the man I spoke with knew that because he quoted me double the price than any other company quoted and even though the home was up the block from their business, they added an extra gas fee. After asking what the deposit would be, they insisted I pay in full upfront stating that they could not trust that people pay the balance even though I explained that I was a businesswoman myself and if I paid the entire $650 up front what guarantee would I have that they would even show up? (yes, that's right...$650 when normal pool closing fee is $300-$350). The man was not nice and basically said this is the fees if I want the service. I WOULD NOT recommend Clardon Pools but instead give Cypress Pools & Spas a call. Cypress was wonderful, very pleasant, half the price, very accommodating in my schedule plus did not require any money up front, no deposit needed; a very trusting and honest company to work with!
