Do not use Latham Fiberglass pool shells. Its four years in and nothing but headaches starting with a nine inch vertical crack on deep end of wall and pool had to be drained and this led to cracking one of my plumbing pipes, then the crack on beam and now a bunch of cracks on steps and step walls which by the way my claims were denied for beam and steps. This year has been hell and in my opinion Latham pool shells are built cheap...poor quality! Not worth the price nor the headaches! I won't even mention the thousands of dollars I lost this year to water replacement, chemical replacement, leak detection services and plumbers! read more

my review is similar to others in that a warranty means nothing to them. For now, my issue is cosmetic. My pool was put in the ground in Mid-May 2025 and partially filled with water seat that time there no issues. When all the plumbing was connected and the pool was filled and cleaned, a signifiant "scratch" appeared on the face of a step. But after closer inspection, the "scratch: was the serial number etched into the gel coat (a picture is attached). And when I complained and requested it be removed under the warranty, they said this is standard practice therefore not covered by warranty. What company stamps their serial number in a prominent place on their products? And when they denied the claim, they offered to "fix" it for me for $2500. One additional comment on Latham Pools but this may be indicative of the pool industry in general. Make sure you investigate the company that claims to be "certified" Latham installer. I chose Backyard Pools and Spas in Richmond, VA which was a huge mistake. All I will say on this post is to use all of the public resources available know who is installing your pool. Use all the state and local government websites that issue contractors licenses as well as the state court websites to search for the criminal records for the individual's who have access to your property. It is too late for me hopefully this helps someone avoid what I am going through. read more

I wish I could respond with no stars! Latham does not stand by their warranty. Since the pool arrived I had to place a warranty ticket. I have two white patches, one in my pool and one in my spa. Latham sent someone out and they blamed it on the chemicals. The pool was less than a month old. Now, three years later I have cracks. Latham said it is not covered. This company is as dishonest as the pool installer. The color of my pool also faded very quickly in less than three years. I need to make a frank review regarding the company Latham pools, which supplied a fiberglass pool installed in September 2024, with the misleading advertising that the pool is so strong that it can withstand gunshots. Well: in September 2024 there was already a HOLE in the gelcoat, and it took them 1 month to come and "fix" it, and the pool had to be emptied, shored up, repaired and filled again and the water treated. Winter arrived, the pool was closed, and in March, when it was reopened for bathing, THE SAME HOLE HAD RETURNED, in the same place, clearly demonstrating that it was a MANUFACTURING DEFECT. Since then, for more than 1 month, I have been trying to receive assistance from LIFETIME WARRANTY, through Sunny pools who installed and sold this pool, and directly with Latham. A TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT FOR THE CONSUMER. If you want a pool to use for bathing, my sincerest suggestion: Don't buy LATHAM. read more

Don't bother with a Latham Liner! They say it will last X number of years, but it didn't hold color for even 5 years. They are "guaranteed" which means nothing -- unless your pool installer gives you the warranty off the package. A Mountaintop/Blue Mosaic is white after five years. It's a salt pool, with high quality automatic and winter covers. Unbelievably low quality liner. Very dissatisfied, all we have is our original contract, work order and receipts from the pool dealer, but no recourse since the installer never gave us a Latham warranty document or filed one at the time of purchase. read more

I've been calling for a month now because he's a busy guy and I have gotten the biggest runaround. They keep sending me to scheduling and the farthest I've gotten is to leave a message. Latham is extremely difficult to deal with and completely unwilling to resolve issues. They delivered a pool that did not meet specifications or the description on their website and have proven impossible to deal with. They were also disrespectful to my builder. We purchased a Latham pool thru the Viking name. The reputation for quality pools is why I chose them. We purchased the pool thru a company called Aquapools in Austin, Tx. The pool has been in our back yard for almost 3 years. I began correspondence about this issue in June of this year. It is now September and still no contact. Just what I would call lip service in the form of emails. I have followed all requested steps to mitigate the issue and still no representative from either the pool manufacturer or the installer has come out to inspect the pool. I maintain meticulous records of the pool chemistry and everything has always been close to perfect. All we have received are emails stating we will pass the information on to the pool manufacturer or they are very busy and will get to us when they can. Really??? We spent $50,000 on a small pool in Texas and I can remember them saying if any issues arise they will take care of them. I am tired of the lies and want other people to know about the issues. I am going to make sure I do all I can to let others know of the practices going on with both the installer and manufacturer. Pool manufactures and installation was ok. But, make it proper finish and cleanup never done. Work was not finished, so they took money and never respond to the phone calls. This company does not care about its customers. Water leaking from spa for 17 months, collapsing concrete patio. took 6 months for them to come the first time, did a crappy discolored repair, started leaking less than 6 months later. Now its already been more than 2 months, the repair guy No Showed this morning (yes they scheduled it on Sunday Morning). Was told by corporate not to come. THey have not responded to email to customer service line 2 weeks ago. Have not responded to certified letter signed for more than a week ago by CEOs office either. I want to help any other pool owner or to be pool owner that is considering purchasing a Latham Pool Liner to choose another pool liner a company that will honor their warranties and has a better customer support staff. I had an issue with my liner that was ONLY 5 years old and I contacted my contractor that installed my liner. The contractor told me to contact Latham Pool Products that he had an issue with another customer that had fading on his liner and they replaced his liner free of charge and paid for installation. My liner starting fading in one corner like it was breaking down then a small hole appeared and then it just got bigger and bigger. Then I noticed that about in the middle of the same side as the liner I had two more holes that had started. I Contacted Latham Pool Products and the lady I spoke with tried every way she could to make the problem mine and not an warranty issue. I have had my pool for 25 years. The pool was in when we purchased our house. The 1st liner that was in it then was used for almost 18 years, we used for 4 years, we replaced the liner and used the 2nd liner for 16 years. This liner from Latham was replaced in 2014 making it 5 Years old. I was told by a Latham Pool representative that Latham did not honor fading, holes, rips or tears. My holes came from the liner breaking down in areas not someone making these holes. To me that is a warranty issue. Latham did offer me a new liner with a discount of maybe $596 - after liner for a 20 x 40 pool and installation my cost over $2000 to replace a liner that is ONLY 5 years old. I would not trust any fiberglass step products from this company. I installed an in-ground pool 8 years ago, and both sets of steps are cracking and bubbling. I was told my products only had a 1 year warranty against cracking. Really!!! this was supposed to be a long term investment. My investment looks terrible.
