If you want authentic Cuban food, look no farther. The place has charm and character and the food is very good. I was lucky enough to get the Friday special which was Cuban style ox tail.. so delicious . Each entre comes with three sides, i chose yellow rice, black beans and fried sweet plantains. For desert i sampled the Flan and Tres Leches .. great choice, even better when paired with Cuban Coffee (colado?) The owner couldn't be nicer either. This is the best Cuban (Qban) sandwich I have had since Miami. I highly recommend. The 8" sandwich was full of ham, real pork slices and yellow mustard. The bread was perfectly toasted. We added their homemade salsa verde- with ghost peppers. Flavorful and spicy. What a find. read more

Oh my god the Cuban sandwich I'm in love. Sweet plantains and garbanzo soup. I just found my go to Latin food establishment. We r going on a cruise next May to Cuba and if this is any indication of the food i May stay and not come back. Lol called in the pick up order and it was hot and fresh and service with a smile. Seating is available although it looks if they got busy you might be in for a wait to be seated. Prices are good and on par with what I've paid for similar food. I will definitely be back. read more

So we're dying for Cuban food while visiting Ocala because back home in TN, nada. Heard about this place Latin American Cafe and went to check it out. Food was excellent. Latin American Cafe is by far above and beyond any Latin restaurant in town. Authentic, amazingly-flavored, friendly service, fast, and extremely affordable. The roast pork is my favorite. The pork falls apart, and is in a mojo type sauce with what seems like lime, cilantro, and onions. Each entree is served with choice of rice, beans, and side, either fried or boiled yucca, fries, or plantains. I recommend the white rice, red beans and boiled yucca. The boiled yucca soaks up the flavor of the pork, and is just plain awesome with hot sauce. If you're brave enough, ask for their specialty hot sauce. It's really hot, but really good. Manny and his family are the best, and despite me being a typical gringo, they make me feel like family. The place is small, homey, and it truly feels like you're eating a meal in their home. I saved the best for last...the espresso. Good Lord. I typically prefer my coffee black, but they sweeten the espresso and it's by far the best in town. I always end my meals with an espresso to-go. Thankful I found this Ocala gem. Try it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

We found this place on yelp traveling through florida. Food was very good. I had the pork sandwich abd we had the pot roast. Very good. Good size pirtions. Also had some coffee and a churro. I stopped in to get some Cuban coffee and ended up tempted to get so much more! A mamey milkshake (batido) and a 1/2 Cuban and side of black bean combo. The batido was mana from heaven! Delicious and such a distinctive taste, nothing else like it. Perfect consistency. The black beans were extremely flavorful, the soupy liquid was incredible to sop up with my sandwich. Manny, the owner, is pleasant and personable, and exemplifies how a restaurant owner should treat customers. He remembers repeat customers and makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door.
