The Latin Grill has been a place my family and I have frequented for a very long time. We mostly come here for breakfast, because we love to eat the breakfast sandwiches (egg, cheese, and bacon) and have some café con leche. The cuban bread and coffee is fantastic. The energy/vibe here is great, too. The waitress/waiters have always been very nice and are easy to grab the attention of if we needed something. We often use the covered outdoor sitting option, because of the current pandemic. We appreciate that they have made this option for those that want to social distance. Meet up a friend who suggested this place. Nice atmosphere. There were three of us. I ordered the Papa Rellena, holy smokes, this thing is huge. My favorite was the onions on top, yum. My mother ordered the breaded streak with yellow rice along with red beans. My mother was not impressed with the steak, a bit on the touch side for her. I hadn't been here in many years. I was very surprised when I pulled into the parking lot to find very little available parking. The place was packed. There was a live band, people dancing. I first want to say I live in Houston Texas. Every time we come to Brandon to visit the Grand Parents we come to The Latin Grill. I've never had a bad meal and the staff is super friendly. I'm gonna post pictures from multiple visits. The drinks are amazing and we went on Sunday and they have 2 for 1 drinks. Latin Grill has great food - I especially enjoy their breakfast choices. From tasty breakfast steak burrito's to more traditional breakfast choices, Latin Grill adds flavors you won't find in many places in Brandon (even breakfast options are limited in Brandon with only 1 IHOP and much more junky chain joints). I especially love the Cuban bread and it is not to be missed - they have two sauces, a sweet red sauce and spicy green sauce that we like to mix for the perfect palate pleaser. Just be careful not to get too full on all that delicious bread. The lunch and dinner options are also satisfactory, but I think their steak sandwich was simply so-so. The service is a hit or miss depending on who you get as your waiter or waitress, it seems the younger staff members are both friendlier and quicker on the feet when it comes to service. Super awesome Latin food in Brandon area. We went here for diner with family and boy was I surprised. I tend to be supper picky when it comes to my Latin food and for me to be happy with the authenticity of this place is saying something. I had the palomino steak with red beans and rice and all I can say is it was some vary tasty Cuban fare. The rice and beans were spot on including the steak which was perfect including the sautéed onions that topped it. This an update. We have been going to Latin Grill for several years for breakfast and lunch. It became a Friday morning ritual for us. Over the past 6 months we have noticed an ever growing decline in the taste and preparation of the food to the point where it is not just blase' and as this morning demonstrated just plain lousy. My friend ordered the oatmeal and it came out cold and not edible. When we told our waitress she said the microwave stopped working. I guess the stove was too complicated to cook oatmeal. The cuban toast was not toasted and overall it was just not good. Not sure if they have a new cook or the cook is just too lazy to care about the quality of the food he/she is cooking. Another issue we have is the fact that the waitresses cannot check us out at the register. They have to call the manager over to operate the register and it can be very slow process. We also discovered that the prices have gone up about $2 per entre'. On the plus side, the morning waitresses are great and do their job to perfection. It is unfortunate that the quality of the food has taken such a downward trend. read more

We have probably driven by this place at least 100 times and on any given night (or morning during the weekend) the parking lot is always jam packed so we had to see what was going on. The lot, while small - makes good use of its space by spreading the parking out in multiple directions with signs to the left that direct you where to go in case you don't get one of the front spots. The dining space is a little crowded towards the front so maybe request a seat along the windows if you'd like more room. Plenty of windows and bright decorations make for a fun venue. You get a sizable portion for a decent price - to-go boxes will very likely be needed. We went for breakfast and they also served Cuban toast with a sweet jam-like sauce while you wait for your food. The desayuno tipico (typical breakfast) was incredible! Large portion of white rice with two fried eggs, richly flavored beef, and two small fried plantains (I believe they were called maduros)... and another piece of Cuban toast to boot. The small espresso shot with milk, cortadito, that our waitress suggested with sugar was also a great start to the meal. The crown jewel of this establishment is the service. Our waitress, Andreina, was patient, fast, and accommodating. She made us feel like we were regulars instead of first time visitors. You will definitely enjoy your experience here. read more

Racist establishment My mother, 7 month old and I went into The Latin Grill to have lunch today. We waited by the "Please wait to be seated" sign. We do not speak Spanish. After us, 3 Spanish speaking women came in, spoke to someone at the bar and we're sat in the only clean booth left. Then the hostess, who does not speak English other then "how many?" Found out that we were a party of 3 and walked away and proceeded to push chairs in and hand out menus to other guests while we still stood at the hostess stand. She then waved us over to a table and we asked for a booth and she stopped a server to translate to us that all the booths are dirty and they are changing shifts, so they can't be cleaned yet??? We walked in really excited to try this restaurant and left feeling very discriminated against. I will never be returning. read more

Very good Latin food and service. I came here as one of my friends who frequents the restaurant told me it was good. There was karaoke around 7pm so a little bit too loud but nevertheless the FOOD made up for the loud ambience. There was free bread with dipping sauce, delish! Who doesn't like free bread to start the meal. I liked the spicy green dipping sauce. For entree, I ordered the pollo empanizado milanesa which is a large breaded chicken cutlet with marinara sauce and cheese. The arroz congri and tostones were my sides. I also wished the tostones ( fried plantains) were a little crispier. The chicken was so big, I took half home and it's now my lunch for work today! Definitely recommend, go with a big appetite! Had a surprise birthday party there a few weeks ago. The food was awful. My friend and I had the ropa vieja which tasted like shoe leather. Another friend had chicken and it was very dry. A few of my friends liked there food but of the 14 people there, I would say the majority did not. The dancing was fun because that's what we like to do even though the dance area is small. Go for the music but be weary of the food Well went back for the dancing, it is so crowded and hot, half the fans weren't on. I ordered a drink, which I rarely do. When I received the bill I was charged a service fee of $6.00 I spoke with the manager Chris that I had no idea there was a service fee for the place. At first he said he would take care of it but came back and said as a manager there was nothing he could do. I was livid to get an $18 charge for one drink. I would think as a courtesy for not knowing about this he would take it off. Last time at this place. Do not go for the food or the service. read more

We normally love this place. We usually come in on a week day to get breakfast. We had out of town guests and took them here for breakfast on Saturday. It took some time before we saw a waiter. He was obviously new and he was given two big tables that were seated immediately after each other. We waited over 40 minutes before 1 plate came out (eggs cold). Still had no coffee or water. Then everyone else was brought Cuban toast because they had just started the orders. We then received water. Then the rest of the orders over an hour later. Two of the orders were wrong. When we were almost done, the coffee arrived, in Styrofoam cups, half full and no creamer. We then had to go up and ask for the bill. My two guests both got sprinkled from the roof due to leaky ceiling and the ceiling had the appearance of black mold. A trash can and wet floor sign was next to our table. Came here last night for dinner. The food was amazing and atmosphere was a fun Friday night. We all ordered a coronita margarita, the waitress seemed new and wasn't quite sure what the house tequila was and had to ask multiple people to get the answer then we all decided to go with patron. From the beginning it was so hard to talk to our waitress (because of the loud music ) and she was not aware of what was on the menu. The drinks came as we expected... then out came two shots for each person... we were confused but the waitress insisted they came with the drink so we kinda just said ok and went on with our night. It wasn't until the bills came we seen we were charged an extra 10$ for the special (the shots). We never asked for shots and we're told they came with the drink. We asked to talk to the manager to get it all figured out. The drink alone was 25$ (which was worth it) but 10$ extra for shots we didn't ask for didn't make sense to us. The manager said she would take the shots off the bills. She came back with them redone and the shots were taken off, BUT we were charged 45$ for the drink now !! She refused to change it and was talking to us like we weren't understanding. She continued to tell us she took the shots off (which she did, but then charged 20$ extra!!). I loved the food but every time I've come here they try to over charge, this isn't the first time. If your not wanting to blow you paycheck on margaritas and two appetizers don't come here. Very disappointed in this restaurant. They are only receiving 2 stars because the food, although cold, was still quality once reheated. My boyfriend and I ordered delivery through GrubHub for a nice night in together before I go out of town. The restaurant had their wait time set as 1 hour. For a Wednesday, that seemed totally fine so I submitted our choices and paid. An hour rolls around and my poor delivery driver texts me to say they told her the food had not been started and would be another 30 minutes. 30 minutes later, the food was STILL not ready and when I called, the woman was rude and unapologetic. After an hour and 45 minutes, our food arrived cold as if it actually WAS ready and was just under heat lamps. My driver said the lady told her she added some extra items to make up for the extreme misjudgment of time on their part...but when we opened it, NOTHING. The food here is on point! The Paella is one of the best that I had in a while! The Paella here tasted better then the one at the Colombian restaurant. They also give you a lot of food which is great since the price a little high. The monfongo is really good as well. I would skip the Mariquitas Preparadas and you can't taste any liquor in the Mojito so just stick to beer. But I would have to say the service need improvement. We went on Saturday night and waited 40 minutes for the food and we have to ask the waitress 4 times to bring the napkins and extra sauce. I was probably the first delivery of the day because I ordered from Uber Eats. I ordered breakfast and 2 dinner entrees. Unbeknownst to me, the restaurant called to inform me that they didn't have the yellow rice and the black beans and rice mixture prepared yet. However, because they could not reach me personally, they made the rice dishes specially ordered for me. I know this because when I saw that they called, I told them that I would be fine with white rice.
