It was ok. Kind of bland and could use some spice. Service was alright, but of course it's just students. The ambiance was nice and lively!

I suggest going in between hours and not at the hour or right before or right after the hour. Classes are usually over at 50 mins past or on the hour so many students will be waiting in line. Food is good, go to for quick service would be on the market. Poke or Hawaiian bbq. In pic: 6 oz Poke bowl with CA roll and Shrimp, Jalapeno, red onion, cucumber, kimchi, masago, krab, and micro cilantro. Sauce: Umami soy glaze and creamy siracha with a salad base. Toppings: Togarashi, chili oil, crunchy garlic/onion, and nori Poke: size options are 4oz or 6oz, the protein being the only weighed part. (You can ask for avocado but it's an extra $1.50) Choice of jalapeno, red onion, and/or cucumber (can select all 3 or just what you want and it doesn't count towards the limit of add ins). Afterwards, there are 9 choices, you can choose up to 3 with any additional being extra cost ($0.75 each) Then you can choose whatever sauce you want, then choose a base (white rice, brown rice, salad, or shrimp chips or wonton chips). Then choose any toppings (Furikake, sesame seeds, chili oil, crunchy garlic/onion, togarashi (Japanese 7-spice), nori, and chili thread)

This review is for Latitude Market. The DC (dining commons) is nice too, but I have not been since I graduated. More specifically, this review is for the Poke Bowl. Their poke bowl is one of the best poke bowls I've ever had. If not best, then one of the more unique ones. They only have one option for fish, tuna, but it is seriously awesome and fresh tuna. I was extremely surprised by the wonderful quality of the tuna. You can also choose shrimp and imitation crab. I usually do a mix of tuna and shrimp. What really makes this poke bowl shine is the sauce, toppings, Wonton chips, and plentiful amount of food!!! The amount of food is pretty awesome for its price (probably because there is less fish than normal?), and the sauces pair really well with the umami toppings. The Wonton chips are very well seasoned, and really complete this poke bowl as a whole for me. I cannot wait to come back here and eat the poke bowl. This is one thing I will definitely miss about Davis. If you're a student, Latitude Market is also a great place to come for more unique snacks, or a quick bite to eat. I'm sure it'll be awesome when operations open up more. Their smoothies and food selection are great too! But I'm really passionate about their poke bowl and wonton chips!! As a plus, the staff is super helpful, supportive, and understanding! I love the high standards of service!!

They're open with limited hours during the summer of Covid. I went to the grab-n-go side just to see what they had to offer. They had a good selection of snacks and drinks, some inexpensive lunch snacks like the crackers and chicken salad kits. Great selection of nuts They do have premade breakfast sandwiches and burritos that they can heat for you. There's lunch sandwiches and wraps too, premade and made-to-order that cost about $5-$7. Bonus: they have gelato, smoothies, & shaved ice!

I always go for the butter chicken, medium spicy, and it is so good. The flavor is rich, perfectly spiced, and just hits every time. I also get their garlic naan, which pairs perfectly with the sauce. I usually end up spending around 24 dollars when I add extra rice and garlic naan to the butter chicken, but honestly, it is so worth it. The portions are really generous. It is easily the size of two meals in one, so you can definitely save some for the next day. I have not tried any other Indian food spots in Davis, and to be honest, I do not really feel the need to because this place is just that good. Whether I get it to go or sit down with friends and family, the experience is always great. They are very quick with their service, and even when I order ahead, the food is still hot and ready to go when I pick it up. Overall, this is a spot I will keep going back to. Great food, great portions, and always consistent.

Fast forward to now, my husband, sister, and I decided to come here for dinner because yeti restaurant was closed. For those who haven't been in here before, the best way I can describe this restaurant is dark. Paint is dark, booth are dark. Everything is kind of moody and dark. Definitely not my kind of aesthetic, but does that really matter for this restaurant? No. The service is always fine. Staff is always friendly enough and fast. When we got the food, we were pleasantly surprised, like I said before I have only eaten at the buffet here and that was over a decade ago. While we were eating, we noted that we actually enjoyed the flavors here more than we enjoy the flavors at yeti restaurant. Something about the blend of spices just fits our palette more than the other restaurant. We found that there was an adequate amount of food, they didn't skimp out on meats, and we were overall really happy with our meal. Is it the best Indian food I've ever had? No, but it was really good by Davis standards and consider considering that there aren't a ton of Indian places in the Sacramento area. I think this might be our new go to Indian place now! I'm glad I gave this another shot!

Kathmandu Kitchen is named after a city in Nepal, so it should be no surprise the food here is Indian and Nepali. While I can't speak to the flavor or authenticity of their momos or other Nepali staples, their curries are extremely delicious and distinct from other Indian restaurants and recipes I've tried. I think the first thing you might notice is that a lot of their curries have a touch of sweetness, and pretty much all of their curries have a consistent texture. They do an amazing job making each curry silky and rich and flavorful. Every dish tastes fresh and unique in their own spice profiles and marinades. I highly recommend the paneer tikka masala, chicken makhani (very similar/the same as butter chicken I think), kitchen masala, and basil curry. Also, their actual restaurant experience is very nice too. The staff is very courteous and professional. The restaurant is large, vibey, and clean. There are two reasons I don't give Kathmandu a 5 star. The first that both me and partner almost always need to add salt to the dish. I could see why someone might write off Kathmandu if they went a few times and wrote it off because they never tried adding salt to their dish. The second reason is that the spice level isn't as consistent as I'd like. Sometimes, asking for medium spice level results in almost no heat, sometimes it borders on too much. Sometimes getting hot spice level is hot but enjoyable, sometimes it's very hot even for me. Mild is consistent but Id guess that's because they simply don't add extra hot chili powder or something like that. Overall, I highly recommend this spot if you love Indian food and want to try some Nepali spins and flavors.

The egg is okay but doesn't stand out as something that highlights a sandwich/burger. Some contrasting textures would have helped too like a crunchy pickled vegetable. I must say though that the service is super friendly here and they gave samples of one of their spiced drinks.

I got the Samosa Chaat and the Chicken Biryani. Samosa Chaat - really good! Tons of flavor and filling. Great value for 5.99 for two pieces. Spicier then expected! They aren't playing around with the spice level here, you should let them know if you can't handle your spice. Chicken Biryani - overall, pretty solid dish. While the chicken was tender and fall apart, it was a little dry. Not dry enough to make the dish unenjoyable, but definitely a little drier than I expected when comparing to the Samosa Chaat. Service - the two individuals manning the food truck were very nice and explained all the various dishes to me. You also get a little free water with your order. Ambiance - they're located in a gas station parking lot with four or five parking spots nearby adjacent to the tire pressure refilling station. They also have a few tables and chairs set up in the shade behind the food truck if you want to eat there. Conclusion: I will definitely be back to try out some of their other dishes. If you enjoy Pakistani food and can handle your spice, stop by and give them a try.

Now they have their own storefront with a ton more options to customize your meal, and more options and things to order overall. The storefront is not huge, but I don't think it needs to be. It's clean and pretty well organized. The service is also fine. I ordered a combo rice bowl and was glad to be able to add extra toppings like tomatoes in the such. Now, the one thing that they don't do like the old truck used to do is load up with sauce. The old truck used to drown your bowl in sauce whereas now they're a little more conservative, but I imagine you could ask for more if you wanted more. The bowl itself tasted good. It's not going to be the best Halal food that you'll get in Davis or anywhere else in the world, but it tasted nostalgic, and I really enjoyed the whole thing. My husband who is currently on campus more than I am noted that the storefront gives you more food than the food truck at the silo. He also said that the food tasted better here.
