I was WOW'd tonight on several counts!…read more First, the caliber of talent was SUPERB and worth waaaayyyyyy more than the $15 I paid for a VIP ticket. I swear I feel like I owe the artist and the venue more money. Thankfully, donations are accepted and definitely should be given! Artist pictured: Colby Acuff!!! Louisiana Grandstand is AMAZING!!! Appropriately named! I'm an admirer of architecture and this place is impressive! It's a vintage space in pristine condition! Nicely designed, decorated, and very well maintained. A small venue, only 400 seats (love that!), but there's even more to it. There's a lovely lounge with tables of 4 that seats about 50 people that's so inviting. Food and drinks are avaliable at some events. You can even rent the space for private events! This gentleman in the red shirt is the owner and talent scout. I believe his name is Will (?). Very personable and more people need to know about this gem of a venue and him! He's got something really special going here that I hope more people will learn about, share, and support. Do not let this one get away, Louisiana! I cannot fail to mention Corporal J. Tilley who was on site for security. Not really needed from what I could see: this place is classy and the patrons are respectable and respectful. But I guess security is nice to have at any live event, if for nothing more than to make guests feel comfortaable and reassured. I don't believe I have ever met a more friendly or personable law enforcement officer. I would have taken a picture with him too if it were allowed (I tried). We conversed quite a bit and he even offered to take photos of and for me. What a nice man and a pleasure to talk to. The receptionist with the beautiful blue eyes was also very pleasant and welcoming. Thanks for a GRRRRREAT evening!

Definitely a "one and never again" ... by quaint and charming they mean old and cramped. NOT a…read moreplace to go if you are mobility-challenged or have hip or back Problems. All the seats are hard wooden seats crowded closer than airline economy. People constantly getting up to go out for more drinks or whatever, and everyone in the row has to constantly get up and move to the aisle so they can get in or out. Can't believe a place like this passes fire code for emergency exits.

He continued to return to here as the place where he got his first big break. Not only did he return numerous times between 1956 and his death in 1977, but he hired Shreveport native James Burton to be an integral part of his  band and stage show. Interesting factoid... the phrase "Elvis has left the building" was first uttered here in Shreveport at the Hirsch Coliseum in 1956. This life-sized statue is in front of the memorial auditorium on, of course, Elvis Presley Way. The one, the only, Elvis Presley. The caption at the bottom records his introduction, "Ladies and gentlemen, you've never heard of this young man before, but one day you'll be able to tell your children and grandchildren that you heard musical history made tonight." Long Live the King. [Review 15982 overall - 60 in Louisiana - 1487 of 2021.]
