I have 25+ years of snowboarding under my belt and I'm VERY picky about my gear. On a whim I dropped into Angles before heading to the mountains, and I'm sure glad I did! Had a great convo with Nate about my riding style and he took time to set me up with not one but THREE different boards to try for the week. Despite the other poor review, this is a beautiful and thriving area that shows the success of land reclamation! There are tons of birds, trees and meadows. I took my 12 year old fly fishing for his first time and saw a guy catching fish down the shore from us, I told my son to go ask him what he was using but he was too shy. So I went and asked him and told him it was my son's first time and he beamed up with excitement "oh I'm gonna hook him up!" He grabbed his tackle and walked over to my son, showed him a bunch of flys and started tying them on his line. Throughout the entire process he explained every little detail!! From the fly's, to the cast, to the water current, what to look for, and about 3-5 casts in my son had bites. He taught him how to set a hook and boom, FISH ON! My son was so pumped to catch his first fish on a fly rod. He soaked up all the info he was given and was able to catch fish on his own. Mason from RMA, I can't thank you enough for hooking up my son and getting us on fish. BTW Mason was also teaching his mom and she caught her first fish too. He took the time out of his day to help out a 12 year old and by doing so he created a new angler. Well done Mason and RMA, thank you! Naturally after my son started catching fish he said "We have to go check out their shop" and of course we did. Had to stock up on flys and check out all of their gear there.

My group and I had a disappointing and confusing experience with a zip-line instructor. We had…read morebarely left the first tutorial line when one of our instructors began acting rude and short with us. We only made it halfway through our group before one of us got stuck on the second line. It took a few minutes to get them unstuck and over to the other side. After that, with no warning, the instructor told us to follow him and said we were going to hike back to the rest of the group. When I asked if something was wrong, he gave me no response. Once we rejoined the other half of our group, our other guide explained that our trip was being cancelled and that we'd need to hike back down. This was shocking and disappointing to all of us--especially the children in our party, who had travelled from out of state and specifically picked this zip-line as the thing they most wanted to do in Colorado. It wasn't worth the long drive just to get up there and have the plug pulled on us with no explanation. I will say the front desk was very kind and helpful. After hearing our account of what happened, they issued us a full refund. Overall, it was a disappointing trip that left all of us confused about what went wrong.
