Advantage Laundry The people who work here sit in their car if you're looking
    Tati S.

I've been coming here for 40 years on and off in between having homes. Please change the radio station back part of the reason why I come to this location is because of the cleanliness and the radio station. The radio station that you're playing is triggering.

Clothes that are dirtier than when I brought them in to this poorly ran laundromat

Went into wash clothes and my clothes ended up dirtier than when I came in. Place is going to sh*t. No attendants and always filthy. People sleeping on the floor and on the seating. Change machine short changes! Been in the area for ever and this place was run well with the previous owners. This place is now a dump. Go elsewhere!! Anybody have Osha's number?

    Sareesha S.

Because of the big washers and dryer's I've been coming here for quite some time even tho there would be outsiders doing god knows what in the bathroom and not washing clothes the customer service was still great today I must say the outsiders are gone but the customer service is horrible dryers aren't getting as hot as usually and the change machine Take your bills and give you less quarters back when asking the clerk for your money she makes a big deal over quarters that belong to you ... this will be my last time coming here

Asshole manager discriminated and threatened to fight a disabled patron.

EDIT: IGNORE my review. The manager just gave me word this person isn't working here anymore. I think I'll be coming back from now on. Been a Yelp user for several years and never thought about writing a review. I wont lie, I just like the coupons lol. Here's my story of tonight's show. I thought PERFECT after finding a 24 hour laundromat in Oakland rather than having to travel to Berkeley. Nice and clean, even late night the patrons aren't TOO crazy for the Bay Area lol. But here is my issue- the night manager threatened an obviously disabled patron and their service dog to a physical fight. I'm not joking and I wish I was one of those people to pull out my camera and record it. As the disabled customer attempted to explain what the purpose of the dog was he became louder and verbatim said "I wish you would call the cops. We don't need the cops I handle my own. I'm not your child you don't know who you're fucking with" As the disabled patron dared him to call the cops because he knew what would happen (i.e., nothing to him but the night manager would have been in deep shit) eventually the man and his service dog left. Congratulations. You've stopped to an all new low of running disabled people out of your business. My schedule doesn't allow me to do laundry in normal hours but I think I'm making that trek to Berkeley from here on out. This is my FIRST and LAST time EVER coming to this facility. The managers actions are completely out of line and I hope everyone who sees this decides to go elsewhere. If these are the type of people who run this place or are hired you should never want to do business with them. What I and several other people witnessed tonight was nothing short of discrimination. I hope you're proud of yourself. Threatening a shaking, limping disabled person to a fight. Absolutely insane.

I've been on the road for over a month now on a photojournalistic adventure and have had a few occasions to use laundrymats. So far Advantage is the best by several lengths. Looks to be patronized by lots of families and singles in the area. Plenty of equipment which is good because there are plenty of customers. Lowest priced place I've used too. It was $2.00 for my one load of wash plus $.75 to dry it. Good deal. BTW, I found this place on Yelp. There are quite a few facilities in this area but Advantage was highly rated and, it turns out, deservedly so. And! They offer free Wi-Fi. :)

    So much laundry!!

Big clean laundry, competitively priced. Always an attendant on duty. It sounds weird but it is my favorite laundry in North Oakland.

I like the fact that it has wifi but the dryers are a rip off. I always have to feed them an enormous amount of quarters.

Can't believe it. Advantage now takes credit cards at most of the washers and dryers. Polite guy watching the store too. Very nice!

There are laundromats that are closer to me, but I choose to lug my loads of laundry onto AC transit and go to Advantage Laundry.

I just purchased a linen quilt and new sheets for the summer and wanted to give them a good wash so took them to GAL. Stopped by Friday morning and was greeted with friendly smiles and help opening the door. The owners sorted through my items and gave me an estimated price. They also offered me a discount because it was my first time there. The owner wanted to make sure I understood that the linen quilt may be wrinkly, and I was like, "I hope so!" Ha! We also discussed pick-up time. They noted they could get the items to me later that day, but I told them I might have a meeting and asked if I could pick up the next morning. They were very accommodating. Upon pick-up, all of my items were ready and packaged beautifully. I was so happy to have a freshly laundered bed without the headache. A quick note: the hours on Yelp are their typical hours, but they've adjusted them during the pandemic. Friday, they were open 9 AM- 3 PM.

Hands down this is the best business I have been to in a long time. The family who owns and runs this company are incredibly kind and caring, and I am so thankful to be able to come to this place and trust that my child's clothes and bedding are cleaned with the utmost care; they even package his little clothes neatly in paper. Oh, the joy it brings me to spend my money here!! Side note: I got locked out of my car one day, and the family made sure I was able to contact AAA. The father even looked out for me until they came. This is exactly what our community needs. Thank you, Grand Ave Launderette Family!

    ## Review: The Laundry Room (Berkeley & Oakland, San Pablo)…read more I've been to both Laundry Room locations--Berkeley and Oakland--and funny enough, they're both on San Pablo. I actually ended up at the Oakland one by accident (directionally challenged over here!), but I'm glad I did because both spots are equally impressive. Over the past year, I've dealt with housing instability, which means I've spent a lot of time in laundromats across the Bay Area. For me, keeping my clothes clean is a way of maintaining dignity and stability when life feels chaotic. Right now, I'm staying with friends and doing laundry for their whole household every week, so I've become something of a laundromat connoisseur. And let me tell you--The Laundry Room chain is hands-down the nicest laundromat experience I've had anywhere. ### What Makes Them Stand Out - **Top-notch machines**: All brand new, spotless, and seemingly sterilized daily. - **Attendant always on-site**: Unlike most laundromats where you have to call a number and wait for help, here there's always someone present, constantly cleaning and keeping everything in order. - **Cleanliness**: No moldy, grimy machines like you find elsewhere. Everything is sparkling. - **Amenities**: Bathrooms for customers (rare in laundromats!), free Wi-Fi, flatscreen TVs with live sports, and even free coffee. - **Atmosphere**: Chill enough that I once brought in some fried chicken from down the block, and no one batted an eye. ### Practical Perks - **Parking lot in the back**: Huge plus in the Bay Area. - **Machine sizes**: No super-small washers here--the smallest is a medium, starting at $5. Perfect for big loads. - **Neighborhood extras**: Right on the block you'll find two fantastic Mexican supermarkets and a fantastic Arab market (house made baklava!) all of which accept EBT. ### Final Thoughts After visiting laundromats all over the Bay, The Laundry Room has become my go-to spot. Between the cleanliness, amenities, and friendly staff, it's a five-star experience every time. Whether you're in Berkeley or Oakland, you'll feel comfortable doing laundry here--and maybe even enjoy it.
