They seriously get 3 stars just for being open 24/7. 24 hour places are so far and few in between. The space is clean and I don't feel like I have to wash my clothes after washing my clothes. The only thing is that I wish there was a little bit more parking. But otherwise very convenient, especially next to a 7-Eleven, I can grab a snack while I'm waiting for my laundry to finish. read more

I've done my laundry here more than a few times and it's alright. There's a big range of machine sizes which is helpful although the smallest ones still aren't very cheap comparatively. It can get a little crowded in there depending on when you go, but I've never not been able to find a machine. Car parking is limited to a small lot shared with 7/11- although there's always parking on the street. Bike parking is a little less than ideal with only one spot on Broadway. The seating inside is also pretty limited but it's always kept clean and the people who work there have always been pleasant. Overall, it's a pretty reliable place to do laundry. read more

Overall quality place. I really appreciate it being open 24 HRS. They also have an early morning special between 2-5AM to do laundry for cheaper. What people say in other reviews about homeless and drifters being around, especially since the 7/11 is next door, is true. However they seem nice and harmless to me when I went there, just normal people. Only issue was a woman trying to use the bathroom without doing laundry there, but the attendant took care of the situation well. Machines are on the slightly more expensive side, but they work well and my laundry was all done within an hour and a half. read more

God, I hate this place. You know how in Soylent Green Charlton Heston discovers that soylent green is people (spoiler alert, sorry)? Normally I'm all for family planning and population control, but if they're making my soylent out of the people who hang out here, maybe it's not such a good idea after all. Don't get me wrong, I have a special place in my heart for the poor crazy dude who's hooked on the quarter-pushing game, and the individuals completely soaked in urine (we call them ICSUs) evoke nothing if not pity. But the pushy hipsters who think the sun shines out of their collective asses (shouldn't they be at home sun drying their skinny jeans?) and the yuppies who turn their noses up at anything that moves, and the sad divorced men, and the louuuud families arguing about who knows what, and the other randoms being in the damn way really make you want to scream some times. If you're into being in close quarters (ha) with human beings, this is the spot. Also, you have a 50-50 shot of getting a dryer that would be put to better use as a space capsule for someone running for the Republican presidential ticket. Or you could probably grow flowers or kittens in them. Add to those odds the likelihood that your washer will reek of mildew (tonight I also extracted a dead grasshopper that the person before me had left as a thoughtful snack). But, though I've brought home damp clothes, they always seem to be clean. I always swear that every time I go here will be my last, but this mat is way above average for any place within miles. And I've never had anyone throw up on me or steal my socks, so it has that going for it. If you're not driving, go to the dive across th'street for a beer and wash your mental stains away. Plus one star for being about the only game in town, one for having a friendly attendant pretty much always, and one more for having things like free wifi and a sink. Minus a star for being a laundromat at all and being automatically depressing. But plus another one for not being a total sh?thole. Secret tip: come here on a Friday nite when it's just the sad and lonelies. You'll have the joint to yourself! Plus, my dog's favorite thing ever is a bag of warm laundry to sit in. I'm only giving this place two stars because I feel guilty giving them only one. I really used to like it here. Now, people just leave there clothes in the washer/dryers well after the machines have stopped running. The clothes just sit in there taking up space when other people could be using the machines. I was just in there this morning, and over half of the machines had clothes sitting in them. I had to walk out because all of the other machines were in use, and none were left for other paying customers. The people who work there just let it happen. Beyond that, sketchy- sure but it's manageable, parking is limited- sure but double park, dump your shit and park on Broadway, crowded- sometimes, throw elbows and be careful who you look in the eye. My one biggest complaint, the washers suck and didn't get my shit clean. Review title..."Dangerously Clueless" The two stars are because my laundry was folded really nicely and came out great. The minus three is for the way I was treated because I lost my receipt. I showed two forms of ID, the credit/debit card that I paid with and had the withdrawal on my bank statement, that I pulled up on my phone, with the same name address and phone number. I also provided my business card from Alameda County, where I work as a social worker, and my professional license number. The attendant working at the time, and the owner Rosio, whom she called to consult with for 20 minutes, were unable to comprehend how to establish my identify without receipt, despite all that I presented. I pointed out that a receipt, in and of itself, is not the ultimate way to determine identity and was asked to explain , "how else can we know who you are?" I was told that I could not have my laundry after extensive ID verifications etc. This is a level of common sense that can not be taught, and shouldn't have to be. Verification of who I was, with two photo ID's, presenting the card I used to pay etc. is FAR more secure than a piece of paper. Not having a receipt when returning an item is different but this is my personal property, which I had already paid for and had a record of the withdraw from them. My bank-statement also indicated my address and name that was the same on my two picture ID's. I was also able to describe the distinct bag it was brought in and describe items in the bag. I had to threaten to call the police and file a report in order for the attendant to give it to me without the consent of the owner. That approach when providing a service is bad business practice. It should not be that difficult for this business to find a way to verify identity, when a receipt is lost. I appreciate that they want to protect customers from theft but I don't appreciate that they required more proof of my identity than US customs and ask their customers to deal with their lack of critical thought. Ridiculous !!! Won't be going back. read more

Awful! Cigarette smoke pours in from people smoking out front almost nonstop. They should put up some "no smoking" signs. I drove over here cause this says they take credit cards. They don't. When I asked the woman about it she was seemingly irritated that I had any question to begin with. (She seemed to be gossiping/flirting with another customer.) Then she was blasé about not taking cards. I told her I came here for that specific reason and she was again uncaring. Decent prices for large laundry wash loads, and the people who run this place are super nice; plus they have wi-fi, they're right next to a 7-11, and a bar across the street. Weee! The customers frequenting this 'mat are also generally chill - no one will yell at you or go rifling through your undies if you're a couple minutes behind because you're grabbing a slurpee. The reason I can't give Advantage a higher rating is because I always seem to get ripped on the dryers - some of them work fine, but others don't. Love this place. They have a sink that works and paper towels. Plus the people who work their really work, they keep the place clean. One time I was their a someone was letting their 2 or 3 year old run around screaming, it was so cool the women working picked up the child carefully and asked who their dad or mom was and told them that their child could not behave that way. Who likes laundry anyway..?? nobody I am remodeling our laundry room and had to give up the ol Lady Kenmore washer and dryer and head back to the laundry mat until the room is done. I found this place on yelp and gave it try since it was only a few blocks from my house. I was very surprised!! First , the place is open 24 hrs and there is always someone there to help you or talk to. I went on a sat early am and it wasn't too crowded at all. The place is clean, new equipment, and Free WiFi. They also have a pc set up if you don't have a lap top so you can check email... and its a pretty cheap to access it if you really need to check your email. The washers all worked well and I had two weeks of laundry to do so I used 5 30lb wahsers, The clothes came out fine and clean. The dyers are good but don't seem to get super hot. I ended up dropping more quarters than I thought i would but overall they worked fine. I did meet one of the owners, a guy and he told me about the huge washers in the back that hold large comforters and area rugs too. I was concerned of the location but it really isn't schetchy at all. They even have KBLX piped in... sorry I hate Rap, so I was happy. For the basic needs in N. Oakland , this place rocks. With 7-11 next door for munchies and a free parking lot, it was really easy and simple. I'll be back next week for more.! read more

There is this complete jerk who works a few days a week and every time this guy is working he is beyond rude, all up in your business, and in general anything but helpful. He basically harasses customers. All the other employees are really nice. This guy has no business having a job where he interacts with other human beings. Changed this review... they now have really good dryers. They are within walking distance. The machines are pretty well-maintained. I've seen the owner there in the mornings and know that he works pretty hard on I'm keeping them operating properly. They have a very good assortment of washer and dryer sizes. read more

Dropped off my laundry, picked it up 7/14/15 and ALL my whites are ruined. Talked to manager and she can't review my complaint until Saturday, she wouldn't be at this location until then. I offered to bring the laundry to her, that wasn't acceptable. I asked to talk to the owners, that wasn't acceptable. She told me that I couldn't take ANY of the laundry home unless I was willing to ignore the 7 pieces of my clothing being ruined. The whites were washed with something red and they have red splotches all over them. In an attempt to fix it looks like they soaked in bleach, it didn't fix it and they soaked it too long and the whites are now gray and dingy. Asked what was going to happen on Saturday and she said she would fix the laundry and when I asked if she wasn't able to then what. "We would discuss" is all I could get from her. I kept asking to walk me down the path of what my options are she didn't understand. Some piss poor customer service so FAR. Will update after Saturdays meeting. read more

I used to really like this place. But now, some of the dryer's don't work from moment to moment, the WI-FI doesn't always work, the credit card excepter doesn't work all the time and it's puts a 20 hold for 6.25, that's ridiculous. Miss Lillian has done my laundry for years and all of a sudden she tells me that the owner's are changing their policies and that the laundry that she's been charging me 30.00 for years, all of a sudden is going to be 1.00 a pound. I don't pay the laundrymat, I pay her. If I wanted any Joe Blow to do my laundry I would take it anywhere. I get that personal touch from Ms. Lillian. I will be upset not to have Ms. Lillian do my laundry but I can still go by and say hello. An owner that goes against their own word is one that one might have to take a second look at. The reason I go to that laundrymat even though I live 25 minutes away is because of Mis Lillian and the other worker's there. Miss Lillian is like the Grandmother, get out of line and she will talk to you. LOL The other lady with the glasses is funny, she has a good heart and will get after someone bothering the customer's in a minute. I really like Aries because he's like the bouncer and always keeps the place clean. The only one that I don't care for to much is the mexican lady that works some Saturday morning's. She has stalker tendencies and smells of alcohol sometimes. She also like to talk bad about the other employee's that work that. This I feel is bad business and whomever put her in charge is either stupid or lazy. I personally have been chased by this woman and also have photo's in my phone to prove it. I also know the business of the employee's that work there.. To me it is totally unprofessional. read more

This has been my only laundromat for years because it's open 24/7. Half the dryers used to be junk and failed to heat up so you had to remember which ones were bad, but they just replaced all their machines and they are working great! For some reason all the new dryers are free this week; I guess they are trying to make amends for the past. Four stars! read more

This place is great, and the best part are the really helpful attendants. I went on a Sunday morning and a young blonde woman was so helpful in figuring out how to help me launder my down comforters, and very knowledgable about cleaning generally, and helped me in figuring out how to keep them fluffed. Was very impressed with her advanced knowledge of cleaning techniques and professionalism. They have many varieties of machines for different weights of clothing, so it was no problem finding a machine that was a great size for my comforters. They have a quarter machine there that takes cash so you don't need to go to the bank and they have an atm that will give you cash for a fee of about $2. The people there were all friendly and chill getting their chores done for the week. Was so glad to have found Advantage and will definitely use them in the future. read more

This place is clean... And well kept. HOWEVER!!! I have one major thing to fuss about. It's the water level. Their washing machines barely releases enough water and it doesn't matter which size you use, they are all proportionally low. I don't stuff my washing machines to the max, so that's not the issue. And no, I'm not washing a bunch of water soaking towels either. Management please increase the amount of water released. Okay so I just moved into a new apt with no laundry - Ugh. But today I am sitting in Advantage writing this review as my clothes get squeaky clean:) Despite coming at peak laundry hours (Sunday 11 am) the place has plenty of vacancy for my 3 different size loads of laundry plus two helpful staff members and 5 different washer sizes. I cant imagine when I would ever need a 80 lb washer but they have 2 of 'em plus 5 60lb, 12 40lb,12 30lbs and a whole slew of regular size washers both top and front loading which is more than I can say for any other laundromat I have ever been to! This is my first time but definitely wont be my last! Free wireless plus a walk up internet station, good service, very clean, easy parking, all the local newspapers available to read, 7-11 next door, and open 24hrs! I kind of feel like the other reviewer who said I don't want to give them a good review just because I don't want to ruin it but I just can help it! read more

I do my laundry here regularly, mostly because it is close to my home, relatively inexpensive, and open at all hours. But you get what you pay for. Going for it: Machines are clean and fast, can't beat the hours. Cons: customer service is not a priority, and evidently staff are not given the power to fix machine mishaps. Eg: I paid for a certain cycle with my credit card, and the machine didn't register it properly. No problem, I'll just ask the woman tending the machines to cancel it and start again. Can she do that? No. Can she fix the cycle? No. Can she do anything other than give me a quarter back? No. Frustrating. read more
