A quick heads-up: the walls aren't floor-to-ceiling, so you can occasionally hear ambient noise from the hallway. However, it's a minor trade-off and very typical for similar boutique spas in the mid-peninsula. In terms of cost, prices are consistent with the area -- not the lowest, but a great value given the quality. She hit all the right points and made sure I was comfortable by asking if the pressure was too much or the bed temperature was good for me. I really enjoyed the minimal use of the light unscented massage oil she used. Before I flipped over, hot towels, more massaging and hot rocks were placed on my back. This was different for me, but I thought it was perfect. It warmed up all the areas she massaged and and removed most of the massage oil leaving my back soft and moisturized without an oily feeling. There was also some stretching done with my arms, legs and neck area. One finished, I felt relaxed, loose and ready for another gym session of lifting! The prices are extremely reasonable as the focus here is on the massage not all the fancy, aromatic things and decor. Booking online is very easy also. You start off online, deciding what package you want or what type of session. When you arrive at the location it's all the way in the back of the salon slightly to the right. M'lis greets you as you enter her area and is immediately very warm and inviting. She will talk you through what the process is, she will inform you that everything is up to you! How much pressure you want, to what degree are you comfortable undressing and what areas you may want her to focus on VS what areas are off limits. She then gives you a mini tour of her room where soothing music is playing. She will tell you where you can put any/all affects for the duration of the appointment and she will step out so you can undress and lay under the sheet she has provided. She will then knock and ask if it's okay to enter and from there she will get to work! My problem areas are my lower back and staving off carpal tunnel. I let her know this when I initially spoke to her and she definitely paid close attention to those areas! I chose medium pressure but if it's your first time I would suggest light and if you're comfortable asking for harder pressure don't hesitate to be vocal! Overall this was my first massage and now that I know what to expect i can know exactly what to ask for for next time! Recently, I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my back, which has caused my left leg to go completely numb on the back of it. I've been seeing my chiropractor and accupuncturist for this as well for the last few weeks. I just got off the table, and can't believe it, but it's 50% better - I have more feeling in my leg!
