After weeks of agonizing pain, I decided to seek help. I went to two other massage therapists, both of which did me no good. Then I found Jocelyn. Her profile listed her as a former computer science student, which made me think she probably understood a thing or two about my situation, since I am a computer programmer. And she certainly did. She provided a very targeted session and worked the muscles most in pain, as well as muscle groups I didn't realize were related. Not only that, Jocelyn also provided a lot of great advice, such as types of stretches and exercise I could do at my desk. She even had diet suggestions. I followed all of her advice and after several sessions, found my pain significantly minimized. Then I went on vacation and the added time away from the computer completely removed the pain. Jocelyn is so good at her work that she effectively worked herself out of a client, as I no longer need massage therapy. But I've been recommending her to everyone I know. I even tried to get her into a previous company at which I worked, since she does on-site massages for some Bay Area tech companies too. If you are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented, and knowledgable massage therapist who is especially familiar with repetitive stress injuries and pain, I would highly recommend Jocelyn.

Review #012 - 2025…read more I've been seeing Claire every month since before COVID so I am extremely late in writing her this awesome review! Maybe I'm just being selfish because I don't want too many people to know about her and it'll be even harder for me to get an appointment. Claire is an expert in her field! She always makes me feel better after my massages. She listens to my concerns and addresses my sore spots! I definitely put her to work! So thankful that she has strong hands because I sit at my desk for hours on out and that causes a lot of knots and muscle tension! I also really wanted to support a women-owned business. However, I also work hard for my money, and when I spend a good amount of it, take time off work to get issues addressed, and provide instructions, I do hope I'm listened to. That wasn't the case here, and I feel like Claire just went through her usual routine instead of focusing on the main area I identified prior to the session starting (significant pain in lower back tied to the quadratus lumborum, and my entire back in general was super tight). My latest back flareup lasted for two months and I needed some relief. I saw Claire bills herself as a medical massage place, so I booked a 90-min massage in the hopes that it would help and was really looking forward to it. Paid $255 (which included tip and CBD oil; I was desperate for pain relief). At this point, I'd to emphasize that Claire asked what areas I would like to focus on. I explained my back issue and said I'd like to focus most of the time on my back, with particular attention paid to my lower back. This was all before the session started. She also asked about modality preference. I said deep tissue. Pros: - The reception area was clean and welcoming, along with the massage room - There's plenty of parking in the lot - Claire seems to be really nice and has super strong hands *The not-positives* She spent 70% of the total time working on my traps. I do hold a lot of tension there, yes, but spending majority of time there was not what I was looking for. I had not mentioned my traps being an issue at all. Mid back? I just got what felt like a light back rub, maybe 5 min of what could be constituted as deep tissue. No relief there. Lower back? She barely touched it. She threw on a heating pad on that area and went to work on my legs instead. I asked if we could skip my legs and just focus on my back, and she assured me we have plenty of time to focus on my back. Then she finished with my legs and instructed me to flip over, and I was like wait, that's it?? I asked AGAIN that she work on my lower back a bit and she said ok, then spent maybe 10-15 min using a trigger point technique, which felt great...but again, she only spent that time on it AFTER I asked her, despite what I explained when I first arrived. She then had me flip over and started working on my traps and upper neck AGAIN, then started on the area where my lats would be (not sure what it's called). She told me it's a spot most therapists overlook and helps with lymphatic drainage. Fine, that's fair. In the end, I actually left worse than when I started. Had no relief anywhere I had asked for. Another massage therapist I had seen a month before who offers only 60-min massages spent more time on my back than Claire did. I won't be going back, and I honestly can't recommend Claire if you're looking for pain relief or mobility. It was a HUGE waste of my time and money, and I was worse off for it. Her approach is good for those looking for general relaxation but not pain relief.

Jade was able to point out that I favor carrying my backpack on my right shoulder just by feeling around my sides which blew my mind! I felt super comfortable the entire time and Jade was so welcoming, considerate, and patient. She adjusted her pressure as needed and shared tips on how to address certain areas of my body that were feeling pain or needed attention. I am now making an effort to carry my backpack on my left shoulder (or both shoulders) to even things out. You start off online, deciding what package you want or what type of session. When you arrive at the location it's all the way in the back of the salon slightly to the right. M'lis greets you as you enter her area and is immediately very warm and inviting. She will talk you through what the process is, she will inform you that everything is up to you! How much pressure you want, to what degree are you comfortable undressing and what areas you may want her to focus on VS what areas are off limits. She then gives you a mini tour of her room where soothing music is playing. She will tell you where you can put any/all affects for the duration of the appointment and she will step out so you can undress and lay under the sheet she has provided. She will then knock and ask if it's okay to enter and from there she will get to work! My problem areas are my lower back and staving off carpal tunnel. I let her know this when I initially spoke to her and she definitely paid close attention to those areas! I chose medium pressure but if it's your first time I would suggest light and if you're comfortable asking for harder pressure don't hesitate to be vocal! Overall this was my first massage and now that I know what to expect i can know exactly what to ask for for next time! M'lis is absolutely wonderful, I truly appreciate how she went above and beyond for my specific needs and would absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of some self care!

Recently, I've been dealing with a pinched nerve in my back, which has caused my left leg to go completely numb on the back of it. I had a massage with Kai before and had been referred by a longtime customer, but when I asked about the 3 prenatal massage package during my last massage less than 6 weeks ago, she did not say they had stopped honoring the prenatal package when I directly stated my intent to buy and schedule it. In my view, if a package is discontinued, it should not still be advertised with a booking button. Under California's consumer protection laws, including the California False Advertising Law (Business and Professions Code § 17500) and California Unfair Competition Law (Business and Professions Code § 17200): * Businesses generally may not advertise goods or services in a way that is likely to deceive a reasonable consumer. * Intent to deceive is not always required.
