She is more interested in checking off her boxes than she is in helping you. And when Kaiser is wrong, she defends Kaiser to the end. Avoid!

I have HMO, which I am learning is not the greatest since Doctors are so reluctant to give…read morereferrals for specialist. I came in a couple of weeks ago to get a referral to a dermatologist. I was concerned with a mole that changed color and was painful. At the time Dr. Clark stated, "The mole looks fine and probably red from itching" and I stated that I did not feel it was normal and only then did Dr. Clark respond with, "If you really want me to, I can give you a referral but I think the mole is fine"... In a very reluctant tone. I of course stated, "Yes, please!" I am really glad that I said yes, because as it turns out, that mole that seemed to look fine to Dr. Clark, was melanoma. I wanted to give this feedback because I feel that most people would just trust the word of their doctor and not push the issue. Melanoma can be deadly if not treated, and I am not sure what would have happened had I not pushed the issue. I understand that he is not a dermatologist, my point here is his reluctance to give a referral that may have caused serious consequences had I not been demanding. Needless to say, I will be switching Doctors.

I visited Dr. Benjamin Clark on Wednesday for the first time. I went in with discomfort in my right…read moreear, nothing too serious but I am leaving for vacation on Monday and wanted a clear bill of health before I left. Turns out I had swimmers ear, which I assumed was the issue as I surf and swim laps daily. I received a prescription for ear drops and an antibiotic. As a side issue I mentioned that I had been stung by a ray two days prior and wanted him to take a look at the puncture wound just to make sure I was treating it right. He looked at it and said it looked fine and did I want a tetanus shot? The lifeguards told me that it might be an option but it most likely wasn't necessary. Here is why I am extremely disappointed in him as a doctor. I specifically asked will a tetanus shot have any side affects that could inhibit me on my vacation on Monday that is my priority (to be healthy for the trip). He brushed me off and said a tetanus shot was no big deal. I got the shot and was sore in the arm but overall glad I got it, until 4 hours later when I started to feel weak and sick. The next day my arm was so sore I couldn't lift it, I had a 101 degree fever, my joints were aching and I was nauseous ( I left work early). Today a full 48 hours later I still feel sick, my arm is spasming and sore, I have a low grade fever and am furious that he would not warn me as to the side affects of a tetanus shot. I might be ignorant for not knowing,(Poli/Sci Major) but I am not the medical professional Dr. Clark is and he gave me ZERO indication that I was going to feel even the slightest discomfort. Now I am worried that I might have to cancel my first vacation in two years because I will be unable to enjoy any of the activities I was going to enjoy.

BEWARE IF YOU HAVE SERIOUS CHRONIC ILLNESS!!! I thought I would be able to say something nice…read morefinally. Actually, I do! Jose thank you so much for being kind to me and for making things better. I really appreciate your efforts. If you have serious chronic illness, this place will SERIOUSLY mess with you, your life, and try to push you into mental illness or a complete breakdown. Just so they can blame it on other stuff other than their own negligence. Dr. Melgar knew what I was coming in for yet she acted as though she didn't know what I needed. I did not have enough gas to be able to get all the way home if I came to see her for my bilateral ear infection. It was so intolerable, I chose to come see her anyways, that's how important my appointment was for me. I needed to come in physically so she could view the problem in person and take a culture. That was the whole point of me coming in person. They know that HEAT in my environment makes me very sick and that I required to be in temperature controlled environments being kept cold. They made sure to have the heater on that day. It's as if they're testing me every time I come in person. Setting me up for deterioration so that they can witness it, because they don't believe me is my only guess. They put me in a stuffy room and close the door as I begin to deteriorate before I'm supposed to drive my son back home and to also deal with being stranded without gas. Then she pretended like she didn't know why I was there and she didn't understand why I had come in sooner than the 14 days of my first medication treatment. Even though my condition had gotten worse, that's why I was physically there, all of which she had already been informed of. She made me feel gross for accidentally cross contaminating myself if that's what even happened. I only mentioned it as a possibility and you should've seen the look on her face that she gave me as if I was the most disgusting human being on the face of the planet. She took advantage of the fact that they deteriorated me with their hot room, forced me to forget that I needed my sample to be taken and when I finally did remembered right before I left, she refused the nurse 3 separate requests for it to be done before I left. I have never had to fight so hard to help myself. THIS ABUSE SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!! How many physical appointments do I need before someone steps up to do their job properly?! My condition got worse after she refused to do her job. Then she refused to provide the medication that I went there for. Not even a pain medication or anything for anxiety just something to help me with the infection and she refused. If you or a family member has suffered at the hands of these doctors at this clinic please reach out to me privately. Together we can make a REAL difference. Report everything to your insurance company and if you have one, your Mental Health professional. Document everything! I'm not letting these doctors get away with this nonsense anymore!! Gaslighting is a serious abuse tactic.
