I'm currently dogsitting in white rock and a friend came out to visit today and of course we needed coffee and I had passed by Laura's several times on my walks and had been curious so we gave it a try. To be fair I only had coffee - decaf - and it was really good. An americano. And they had cinnamon. Which always makes me like a place more. The place was super busy (truth and reconciliation day) but the staff were all really nice albeit exhausted. Didn't stay in because it was loud but I liked the ambiance and would enjoy hanging around there on a quieter day. read more

just had a large vegan morning glory muffin. looked great , unfortunately it had nothing to do with its title. no fruit, no raisins simply muffin and pumpkin seeds. you need to do better for a $5 muffin. coffee and service was great. read more

I love Laura's. Have been going for years and the baked goods are superb but lately I've been disappointed with the soups and sandwiches. The salmon chowder was so over salted it was virtually inedible. The veggie sandwich had no seasoning whatsoever. The vegetables were cut so large it was difficult to eat and it would have benefitted from some salt and pepper and perhaps a smear of pesto or more mayo. This is not the first time I was disappointed with savoury food. The baked goods as always, were delicious but the line cook (or cooks) need to step up their game. read more

This place is a much go...! I love bakeries but this one takes it. Fresh daily, makes with good wholesome ingredients. Laura has got this down and taken the prize. From a simple yogurt fruit granola bowl which is huge by the way to freshy made sandwiches, soups and the best baked goods. Tucked away this gem is a must do. So popular there is a bit of a line up during peak times. Oh and the menu cannot does justice to seeing all the yummy items in person, totally heavenly. Oh and the coffee is great too! read more

Super, super, super cute cafe with organic coffee, and an assortment of pastries, sandwiches, and salads. I had a meeting in the area and popped on over to Laura's Coffee Corner afterwards to get some work done. I ended up staying here for over 4 hours! The music was on point, the food was delicious, and their coffee kept me grinding till closing time. While I was here I had an iced almond milk latte, the spinach, pear, and pecan salad (added avocado), and a chocolate chip banana bread. I asked for a large coffee since I needed to get plenty of work done, and it did just the trick! It was a bit bitter than what I'm used to, but I didn't mind! The salad was delicious and generous in size! I loved the dressing it came with and also loved how it came on the side instead of pre-mixed. The choco chip banana bread was my favourite though! I can't ever go into a coffee shop or bakery without trying their banana bread, and this one was a winner. The slice was HUGE, and I enjoyed and devoured every last bite. I'd order loaves on loaves of this if I could! The girl taking my order was super sweet and loved that I added avo on my salad even saying that she can't believe she's never done that before. As she was leaving her shift, she told me that she got a salad to go and avo thanks to me! I'm just happy that I was able to spread the avocado love. The interior of this place is adorable! There's a covered patio, which is great both in the summer and winter, there are cool lighted signs hanging throughout the cafe, the walls are covered with cool art pieces, and there's even an old piano out on the patio. There are plenty of tables and outlets, but up until the last hour they were open they were really busy! A lot of the people who came in seemed to be regulars and the staff seemed to know many of the customers, which I think is always a good sign of a local business. This place is a bit of a trek to get here, but I wouldn't mind coming back to get some work done and enjoy more of that banana bread. The drive is worth it. read more

Met a friend for breakfast this week and was surprised to see just the staff wearing masks. Obviously people are very comfortable maskless! There are a lot of signs/signage/blackboard drawings. It's overwhelming. Everywhere you look there's signs. Clutter. Anyway, the coffee was great. Americano as it should be. The bagels were a disappointment as they were 'bread' style so not the usual bagel store bagel, the were like Save On foods bagels. Anyway the lox was fresh, bit skimpy on the cream cheese. The peach turnover delivered as a sweet treat. The scones were great. Prices are high but you're paying for the location as well. Nice outdoor seating. They recycle everything! And Covid precautions were being followed. If I went back I'd stick with a scone and coffee. read more

Not the average coffee destination. This very successful business continues on with everything made on site. Today the Hot Italian Panini sandwich was delicious and the coffee is always great. Another great local coffee shop! Not only do they have coffee, they have a wide variety of baked goods, soups, salads, and sandwiches. I love their covered patio seating, which I saw was also heated (from another reviewer). I went during the summer and it (the patio) was wide open. They also have some seating outside at the front, but good luck finding a table/seat when the weather is nice! read more

Phenomenal! I've really enjoyed everything that I've had off the menu here, although I find the coffee too weak. The lunch prices seem high but the portions and amounts of quality ingredients is large. The baking is so good and exceptionally reasonably priced. This is an amazing coffee, brunch, lunch and hangout spot! Homey decor, lots of space, fairly quiet in the outer sitting area but then there's a boardwalk patio area if you want to be out in the sun! I was in Laura's Coffe Corner today and witnessed the owner of this coffee shop be absolutely horrible to a customer with a service dog. He was yelling in her face and telling her to leave. When the woman tried to educate him about the dog being a service dog, he would not listen, even though she showed him her goverment ID and showed him the BC govenments webpage on Service Dog Accessibility on her phone. The owner told this poor women that it was not up to him to know all the laws of governing a buisness in BC!!!! I have never seen such horible customer service or ignorance in a buisness owner. Based on the actions of this owner, he does not deserve our communty's support. read more

Awesome atmosphere, this is one happening place. Reminds me of some New York Soho cafe, lively mood but I digress. In terms of food variety, think a better advanced form of Bread Garden or Breka Bakery; lots of TLC into their pastries and sandwiches but best part are their soups. I think I've come to the conclusion this is the best cafe in white rock! Their atmosphere is so cute, always somewhat busy, the staff are super friendly, the treats are actually a reasonable price to other cafes... AND they change their pastries/desserts often so there is always something new to enjoy everytime I come in. I've tried and recommend the: chai latte, matcha latte.. Laura's Coffee Corner is legendary for not only the delicacies they offer but as a great spot for catching up with friends and family. The staff are very friendly. Their Covid practices have been stellar (I've frequented Laura's pre and during Covid). It's in a nice location and if you're sitting outside, you can view Semiahmoo Bay. There are a lot of signs which can be overwhelming at first but it's just a super easy way to keep informed. The coffee is good but it's the treats that keep me coming back. My favorite so far was the chocolate coconut cake. Prices are higher than other coffee shops but you're not just paying for the location but the quality of the food as well. You can't beat homemade. Weather-permitting, I prefer to eat outside as it can get a little loud with rambunctious chatter inside and I have sensitive hearing. There is street parking. I appreciate the fact that they make a serious effort to recycle as much as possible. Be prepared to wait in line during peak times (the food is just that good) so be patient as you ruminate over what delight will tempt you on your visit. There's a reason why so many people have their phones in hand eager to take a picture of what they ordered. I recommend checking them out. read more

I love coming to white rock for this coffee shop. It's been packed all four times now be been there, but they have a good amount of seating. The staff brew your espresso quickly and it tastes like it should too. The baked goods offer variety and I love the chocolate croissant. 4/4 on all visits, I haven't had a bad experience. read more

Cool cafe with both indoor and semi-indoor (in a greenhouse-esque room) and outdoor seating. Came here for coffee and pastries and while the coffee was good the pastries were a little dry and slightly underwhelming. Would probably just have coffee here next time. Servers are all extremely nice. They also seem to have events here occasionally since the semi-indoor space turned into a speaking area while we were there. read more

Cute little coffee shop with a great selection of pastries and breads with a nice seating area too. Friendly service and a pretty good chai latte. They have a covered patio area along with indoor seating with an awesome seat which is almost like sitting in the forest with lots of potted plants nearby. We tried the pecan nut tart which was packed full of nuts and was not overly sweet. The latte was above average with latte art. They are that true neighbourhood business where the owner gets to know the regulars and you just feel at home the moment you walk through the door. I wouldn't say they have the best coffee drinks in white rock but I do like they have organic coffee. They also have a huge assortment of house made baked goods and breakfast and lunch offerings. I have had some excellent homemade soups here. I think their hot italian panini on their homemade focaccia bread is their absolute best menu item and one of the best sandwiches that I've had in white rock. I love that they have a patio and the inside decor has a lot of character. read more
